Family and friends please meet for service at St. Mary Magdalene Church, Trimdon Village on Thursday, July 12 at 1.30 p.m., followed by cremation at Durham Crematorium.

HINSON - On July 4 (peacefully, at The Argyles Nursing Home, Newbury), of The Smithy, Grinton and formerly of Grinton Lodge Youth Hostel. Lucie, aged 96 years, dearly loved wife of the late Ron, very dear mother of Colin and Neil, a much loved mother-in-law and loving grandma.The funeral service was held at St. Andrew's Church, Grinton on Wednesday July 11, followed by private crmeation.

HODGSON - John Robert of Ferryhill, aged 75 years, peacefully at home, Hudson Street on July 10, surrounded by his loving family after a long illness bravely borne with great courage and dignity, dearly loved husband of Madeleine and a much loved dad of Robert, Stephen and Judith and father-in-law of Stephen. Private service to be held at Durham Crematorium on Monday July 16. R.I.P

JOHNSON - Alan (of Durham), passed away peacefully on July 4, 2007 aged 82 years. Beloved husband of the late Margery, a much loved father of David, Peter and Martin, dear father-in-law of Sue, Heather and Kath, proud grandfather of Richard, James, William, Duncan, David, Andrew, Kate, Jennie and Charlotte and also loved brother to Laurie. Alan will be sadly missed by all his loving family and friends. Please meet for service and cremation at Pontefract Crematorium on July 16 at 12.30 p.m.

JOHNSON - July 12 (peacefully in hospital), of Chilton. Jean, aged 80 years, dearly loved wife of the late Jack, a much loved mam of Brian and David, also a very dear mother-in-law, grandma of Christopher, Timothy, Amber and Freya and a dear sister. Would friends please meet at Durham Crematorium Wednesday at 1.30 p.m. for a service and committal.

JOHNSTON - Joseph, of Easington Colliery, peacefully at home on July 6, surrounded by his loving family, after a short illness. Joe, aged 83 years, a beloved husband of the late Maggie (nee Parker), a much loved dad, also a dear father-in-law and a cherished grandad and great-grandad. Cortege to leave his residence on Thursday for service at the Church of the Ascension at 10.30 a.m., prior to cremation at Durham Crematorium. Friends are kindly invited, please meet at the church.

KAY - July 9, of Eldon Lane, Bishop Auckland. Ronald (Ronnie), aged 73 years, beloved husband of Carol, devoted dad of Andrew, dear father-in-law to Rachel, much loved and loving granda to Ellie, treasured brother to Colin and Joan, also a dear brother-in-law and uncle. Will friends please meet for service in St. Mark's Church, Eldon at 9.00 a.m. on Friday, July 13, followed by cremation at Durham.

KELLETT - On July 5, suddenly at home. John (Johnnie), aged 62 years, beloved son of Lucy Ann and the late Ralph, brother of Ralph, brother-in-law of Marion and uncle to Elaine and Christine. Friends please meet for service at Thornley Methodist Chapel on Friday, July 13 at 10.30 a.m., followed by interment in Thornley Cemetery. All welcome afterwards at The Crossways Hotel, Thornley.

KENDREW - Margaret, suddenly, at home in Scorton on July 3. Much loved sister of Jean and Dorothy, dear sister-in-law of Geoff and Derrick, a loving friend of Bill and an adored aunt and great-aunt. Funeral service at St. Mary's Church, Bolton on Swale on Thurs day July 12 at 2.00 p.m., followed by cremation. Friends please meet at Church. Family flowers only please, donations if desired may be given in Church for the Yorkshire Cochlear Implant Service (cheques payable to The Ear Trust) and Church Funds.

KNAGGS - July 12, 2007, peacefully at Charnwood Lodge, Dumfries. Margaret Knaggs (nee Nutter), formerly of Westmoreland Close, Spennymoor. Beloved wife of the late George William Knaggs, dearly loved mother of Malcolm and Marie, a loved gran and great-gran. Cremated at Roucan Loch Crematorium, Dumfries.

LAMB - On July 11 (peacefully, in hospital), of Katrine Walk, West Auckland. Norman, aged 77 years, a beloved son of the late Robert and Jane, a much loved brother of Ted, also of the late Tommy a loving brother-in-law, uncle and great-uncle. Would friends please meet for service in St. Helen's Church, St. Helen Auckland on Wednesday, July 18 at 11.45 am, to be followed by interment in West Auckland Cemetery.

LAMPLOUGH - July 5, of Haswell, died suddenly in hospital. Denis (Pat), aged 78 years, a beloved husband of Dorothy, devoted dad of Denise, Phillip and Karen, a dear father-in-law of Peter and Malcolm, also a precious granda of Laura and Christopher. Funeral service Wednesday, July 11 at the Parish Church of St. Aidan, Oxford Street, Hartlepool 12.00 noon, prior to cremation at Stranton Grange Crematorium, Hartle-pool. MALLEN - July 9, peacefully at home, of Birch Place, Esh Winning. Josie (nee Corrigan), aged 79 years, beloved wife of the late Michael and a much loved mother and grandmother. Friends please meet for Requiem Mass in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Esh Winning on Friday, July 13 at 12.00 noon, followed by interment in Newhouse Cemetery. McCAFFERY - On July 7, peacefully in hospital, of Gilesgate. Jim, aged 60 years, much loved husband of Eileen, the best dad to Duncan and Jenny and a dearly loved son and brother. Beloved husband of Betty, dearly loved dad of David, dear father-in-law of Pamela, devoted gramps of Debbie and Richard, great-grandfather of Harry, much loved brother of Margaret and Ivy and brother-in-law of Norman.
