RORRISON - May 9, peacefully in hospital, after a short illness bravely borne, of Fryer Crescent, Darlington. Bill, aged 67 years, beloved husband and best friend of Marion, loving dad of Colin and adored grandpa of Morgan and Millie and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral Friday, May 18. Friends please meet for service in Darlington Crematorium at 1.15 p.m. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, may be sent for Cancer Research UK, c/o Seaton Leng and Son Ltd., Bondgate, Darlington, DL3 7JR.

SAYERS - May 5 (peacefully, in hospital), of Tennyson Terrace, Crook. Ronald (Ronnie), aged 80 years. Dearly beloved husband of the late Ettie, a much loved father of Brian and David and a dearest father-in-law to Sandra, a dear granda of Stephanie and Anthony. Interment Tuesday May 15, in Crook Cemetery. Cortege leaving residence at 11.20 a.m. for a service in St. Catherine's Church, Crook at 11.30 a.m. Friends please meet at church.

SCOTT - On May 13 (peacefully in hospital, after a long illness bravely borne), of Newton Aycliffe. Arnold (Arnie), aged 76 years, beloved husband of Vera, loving dad of Ian, Mark and Jane, father-in-law of Joanne and Tony, a much loved grandad of Adam, Ricky and Sophie and also a dear brother and uncle. The funeral service will take place on Monday, May 21 1.30 p.m. at St. Clare's Church, prior to interment in the West Cemetery, School Aycliffe. Floral tributes may be sent to John Meynell Funeral Service, Stephenson Way, Newton Aycliffe.

SCOTT - (Scottie) Richard (ex Para), in his 100th year, peacefully at home on May 13, of Church Lane, Middleton St. George (formerly of Earl Edwin Drive, Richmond). Judith Mary, aged 62 years, beloved daughter of the late Ken and Edna, dearly loved sister of Kathryn and sister-in-law of the late Neville, also a much loved aunt of Kay, Kathryn, Jill, Sophie and Edward. Will friends please meet for service in St. Andrew's Church at 12.05 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, followed by cremation at Darlington.

TATE - May 11 (peacefully, in hospital), of Lime Road, Ferryhill. Joan (nee Haswell), aged 67 years, dearly loved wife of Daniel, a much loved mother of David, Susan, Stephen, John, Janice, Andrew and Paul, sister-in-law of Johnny, a dearest mother-in-law, also a much loved nana, great-nana and a dear sister. Cremation Monday May 21 at Durham. Cortege leaving residence at 3.10 p.m. for a service in the Crematorium Chapel at 3.30 p.m. Friends please meet at the Crematorium.

THACKRAY - May 15, of Edmund Street, Darlington. Rita (nee Hanlon, formerly Minnighan), aged 73 years. Beloved wife of the late Freddie, treasured mam of Elaine, mother-in-law of Norman and also a dear sister and auntie. Funeral Tuesday. THOMPSON - Madeleine, of Cotherstone, on May 9, aged 102 years. Beloved wife of the late Kelvin, a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will also be sadly missed by her many friends of all ages in Teesdale and by members, past and present, of Durham County W.I. Dearly loved dad of Gerald and Lynne, also a loving granda, much loved brother of Betty and Sylvia. Funeral service to take place in St. Catherine's Church, Fishburn on Friday May 18, at 1.00 p.m. prior to cremation at Durham Crematorium. Friends please meet at church.

WHITEHEAD - May 10 (peacefully at home), of Pickhill, Thirsk. Pauline, aged 68 years, beloved wife of Les, loving mother to Chris and a dear mother-in-law to Kath. WILLIAMS - May 12 in hospital Edward (Eddie) aged 52 years (Shotton Colliery) much loved father of Simon, Calvin, Gregory and Cindy. Dearly loved brother of Charlie and his partner Maureen, dearly loved brother of late sister Iris also a dear grandad and uncle. Fondly remembered by Gillian, John Tate and all his friends. Nora (nee Graham) aged 81 years, beloved wife of the late Jim, a dearly loved mother of Ann and Jean, mother-in-law of George and Kenny, much loved grandmother of Tracey, Anthony and Graeme, also a great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Funeral Tuesday, May 22. Will friends please meet at 3.30 p.m. for service and cremation at Durham Crematorium.
