Ada L. Kiser

MARION -- Mrs. Ada Lewis Kiser, 100, died Friday, Jan. 9, 1998, in Francis Marion Manor Nursing Home.
She was a native of Tazewell, had lived in Marion since 1933, and was a member of Marion Baptist Church.
She was the widow of William G. Kiser.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Mrs. George W. (Dottie) Kiser, Marion; two grandsons; and three great-grandchildren.
Seaver- Brown Funeral Service, Marion, is in charge.

James N. Mustard

NICKELSVILLE -- James Newton Mustard, 68, of Route 2, died Friday, Jan. 9, 1998, in Holston Valley Medical Center.
He was a native of Dickenson County before moving to California where he and his family lived for 35 years.
He was an engineer having retired from Micropolis Corporation in 1984. Upon retirement, he and his wife moved to Nickelsville, Va., in 1989.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of Holston View United Methodist Church, Weber City.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Faye Mustard; one daughter, Debbie Youngblood, Johnson City; one son, Daniel Lee Mustard, Johnson City; two sisters, Sue Mustard, Clinchco, and Virginia Kiser, Bristol, Virginia; two brothers, Donald Mustard, Crossville, Tenn., and Roger Mustard, Nickelsville; one step-grandson; several nieces and nephews; and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
Gate City Funeral Home is in charge.

Nathan F. Osborne

DUNGANNON -- Nathan Floyd Osborne, 92, died Friday, Jan. 9, 1998, in Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center, Kingsport.
He was a lifelong resident of Scott County, a retired coal miner from Clinchfield Coal Company and a member of First Baptist Church, Dungannon.
Survivors include his wife, Retha Bush Osborne; one daughter, Mrs. Emitt D. (Elizabeth) Blevins, Defiance, Ohio; one son, Charles F. Osborne, Dungannon; five grandchildren, Pamela Dingus, Roger Blevins, Mike Blevins, Deborah Hatthaway and Rita Alfred; eight great-grandchildren; and one niece.
Colonial Funeral Home, Weber City, is in charge.

Esther S. Rosen

MARION, Va. -- Esther Shedden Scott Rosen, 96, died Jan. 7, 1998, in Perry Lutheran Home, Perry, Iowa.
She was a native of Iowa, born of Methodist missionaries, and spent her childhood there. At eighteen she married a Swedish immigrant homesteader. She moved to Marion in 1953, and returned to Iowa in 1988.
She was the widow of Erik Ragnar Rosen.
Survivors include two daughters, Judith K. Poffenbarger, Omaha, Neb., and Donna R. Sexton, Atkins, Va.; five sons, Edgar R. Rosen, Taylorsville, N.C., Norman L. Rosen, Fort Dodge, Iowa, Dan A. Rosen, Vienna, Va., Clifford N. Rosen Hampton, Va., and Joel Q.S. Rosen, Arlington, Va.; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Mabel B. Sadler

WYTHEVILLE -- Mabel Blessing Sadler, 84, died Friday, Jan. 9, 1997, in Smyth County Community Hospital.
She was the widow of Earl W. Sadler.
She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Rebekah Lodge 57, Wytheville.
Survivors include one daughter, Marlene Winter, Marion; one sister, Juanita Jackson, Wytheville; two grandsons, Brigen Winters, Arlington, and Martin Winters, Charlottesville; and several nieces and nephews.
Grubb Funeral Home, Wytheville, is in charge.

Margie D. Barker

Margie Dickenson Barker, 85, of 403 Leisure Park Towers, Bristol, Va., died Friday, Jan. 9, 1998, at her home.
She was a native of Wise County, had lived in Bristol for over 35 years, and was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church and Bethany Sunday School Class.
She was the widow of Buren Barker.
Survivors include two daughters, Anna Ruth Byrd, Atlanta, and Evelyn Grace Lockard, Arizona; one son, Jimmy Barker, Crittenden, Ky.; three sisters, Cora Tate, Bristol, Tennessee, Pearl Dickenson, Bristol, Virginia, and Mary Stidman, East Stone Gap, Va.; one brother, Henry Dickenson, East Stone Gap; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Akard Funeral Home is in charge.

Thelma G. Bays

ST. PAUL -- Thelma G. Bays died Friday, Jan. 9, 1998, in Riverside Medical Clinic, St. Paul.
She was a native of Russell County.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Kiser, St. Paul; one son, Jim Bays, St. Paul; two sisters, Frances Stinson, Charlotte, N.C., and Pauline Holmes, Castlewood; four brothers, Jim Counts, Charlotte, Henry Counts, Castlewood, Randy Counts, Phoenix, Ariz., and Joe Counts, Bristol, Tennessee; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Castlewood Funeral Home is in charge.

Joy P. Buhi

CLEVELAND, Va. -- Mrs. Joy Powers Buhi, 58, of Huntington, W.Va., died Thursday, Jan. 8, 1998, in Orlando, Fla.
She was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Buhi; one daughter, Kim Buhi, Kansas City, Mo.; her mother, Mrs. Beulah Powers, Cleveland, Va.; two brothers, Glenn Powers, Kingsport, and Dale Powers, Cleveland, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
Russell County Funeral Home, Lebanon, is in charge.

Jack M. Collins

Jack M.Collins, 74, Bristol, Tennessee, died Friday, Jan. 9, 1998, in Holston Valley Medical Center.
He was a native of Kingsport, had resided in Bristol, Tennessee for the past 32 years, completed his under graduate studies at ETSU and his graduate studies at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
He was a fighter pilot with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and was employed with Raytheon Company, Bristol, retiring as Manager, Contracts Department, in 1987 after 30 years of service.
He was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Cuma Dykes Collins; one son, Stephen Collins, Piney Flats; two daughters, Gretchen Early, Richmond Hill, Ga., and Gina Downey, Sevierville; one sister, Mrs. Robert I. (Edel) Hawley, Kingsport; one brother, Dr. H. Warren Collins, Elizabethton; eight grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport, is in charge.

Evelyn T. Corell

TANNERSVILLE, Va. -- Mrs. Evelyn (Taylor) Corell, 81, died Friday, Jan. 9, 1998, in Tazewell Community Hospital, Tazewell.
She was a retired school teacher of Smyth County and a member of Thompson Valley Presbyterian Church.
She was the widow of W.T. Corell Jr.
Survivors include one son, Bill Tom Corell, Tannersville; two daughters, Margaret Stephenson and Barbara Bell, both of Chesapeake, Va.; one brother, Robert Taylor, Abingdon; one sister, Tivis Cockerville, Charlottesville; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
D.R. Henderson Funeral Home, Saltville, is in charge.
