Kermit E. Jenkins

Kermit E. "Tom" Jenkins, 75, of 216 Lovedale Drive, Bristol, Tenn., died Friday, Sept. 25, 1998, in Wellmont Hospice House.
He was a native of Sullivan County and was a retired accountant with Unisys.
He was a member of United American Travelers and was also a member of Tennessee Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Richards Jenkins; a son, Bradley Jenkins, Gray; three brothers, Clifton Jenkins and Clyde Jenkins, both of Bluff City, and Claude Jenkins, Chester, Va.; a sister, Mrs. Frank (Peggy) Richards, Bluff City; and several nieces and nephews.

Thomas L. Mullins

CASTLEWOOD -- Thomas Leon Mullins, 48, died Saturday, Sept. 26, 1998, in Wellmont Hospice House, Bristol Tennessee.
He was a native of Russell County.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Joyce Mullins; five sisters, Stella Easterly, Lebanon, Molly Shaffer, Bristol Tennessee, Rosa Mae Meade, Castlewood, Lola Meade, Patrick Springs, Va., and Ruby Ann Dean, Blue Ridge, Va.; seven brothers, Orville "Bud" Mullins, Lebanon, Carlos Mullins, Giles County, Va., Guy Mullins, Rocky Mount, Va., Eugene Wayne Mullins, Robert James Mullins, Arnold Mullins and Larry Mullins, all of Castlewood; and 44 nieces and nephews.
Castlewood Funeral Home is in charge.

Lorraine L. Sherfey

ALGOOD, Tenn. -- Lorraine Larkey Sherfey, 68, died Friday, Sept. 26, 1998, in Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Michigan and was a retired cashier for Kroger Company.
Survivors include her husband, Howard Dwight Sherfey; a son, Howard Allen Sherfey, Michigan; five daughters, Mary Ann Westman, S.D., Kathy Luke, Texas, Jean Norris and Karen Stire, both of Cookeville, and Eileen Vercher, Louisiana; a sister, Eileen Leopp, Virginia; 16 grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Weaver Funeral Home is in charge.

Shelby G. Addington
JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. -- Shelby G. Addington, 78, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 1998, in Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Jefferson City.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, in Norton, and a former member of the Norton Lions Club. Mr. Addington was retired from the U.S. Post Office.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey Addington; and a daughter, Jan Marie Addington-Strong.

Larry L. Bostic
SUFFOLK, Va. -- Larry Lee Bostic, 52, of 7565 Indian Trail, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 1998, in Southampton Hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was a native of Vansant, a truck driver with Pulaski Coal Company and a member of Suffolk Moose Lodge. He was a member of Suffolk Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Darlene Bostic; a daughter, Melanie Renee Bostic, Suffolk; two sons, Tony Lee Bostic and David Christopher Bostic, Manassas, Va.; his mother, Ruby Deel Bostic; two sisters, Velma B. Crabtree, Clintwood, and Darlene B. Molenaar, Oak Ridge, Tenn.; two brothers, Eddie Bostic, Vansant, and Jeffrey Bostic, Lebanon; and three grandchildren.
Haysi Funeral Home is in charge.

Myrtle G. Buskell
COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Myrtle Gilbert Buskell, 84, formerly of Richlands, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 1998, in a Columbia hospital.
She was the widow of C. Bandy Buskell.
Hurst-Scott Funeral Home, Richlands, is in charge.

Amanda M. Davis
NORTON -- Amanda M. Davis, 93, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 1998, at the home of her daughter in Toronto, Ohio.
She was a native of Scott County and lived most of her life in Norton. She was a homemaker.
She was the widow of Addison Clark "Cuss" Davis.
Survivors include a daughter, Nellie Davis Combs, Toronto, Ohio; two sons, William G. Davis and Addison B. Davis, both of Toronto, Ohio; a sister, Lovell Hart, Bradshaw, W.Va.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Carty Funeral Home, Norton-Wise, is in charge.

Wes Edwards
Wes Edwards, 87, of Bristol Virginia, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 1998, in Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon.
He was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County and Bristol Virginia, a retired coal miner and a member of Jackson Memorial Church, Bristol Virginia. He was a former member and deacon of Valley View Freewill Baptist Church, in Clintwood, for 25 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Edwards.
Survivors include three sons, Bob Edwards, Bristol Virginia, Arthur L. Edwards, Livingston, Texas, and Richard F. Edwards, Woodbridge, Va.; a sister, Eula Anderson, Abingdon; a brother, Lonzo Edwards, Abingdon; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Clintwood Funeral Home is in charge.

Lillian H. Frye
Lillian Harlow Frye, 84, of Bristol Tennessee, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 1998, in Cambridge House.
She was a lifelong resident of the Bristol area and a homemaker. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Bill (Berlene) Rulo, Oxford, Ga.; three sons, Bob Frye, Breensboro, N.C., Earl Frye, Daytona, Fla., and Larry Frye, Bristol Tennessee; four grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.

DEEL, Va. -- Howard William Fuller, 56, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 1998, in Buchanan General Hospital, Grundy.

LEBANON -- Zola Mae Hess, 85, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 1998, in Salem, Virginia.

Bernie Hurley
HURLEY -- Bernie Hurley, 69, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 1998, at his home.
He was a native of Woodman, Ky., had been a resident of Buchanan County most of his life and was a member of Blackey Baptist Church for 38 years. He was a member of Grundy Lodge I00F No. 17, of Grundy, and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of John Ratliff Post No. 164 of the American Legion.
He was a former coal operator and most recently was assistant manager for Motel 6, Wytheville.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Lester Hurley; a son, Kenneth Bernie Hurley, of Hurley; a sister, Audra Bernice Hurley, Stopover, Ky.; five brothers, James B. Hurley, Martinez, Ga., Berlin Carlson Robinette, New Tazewell, Tenn., Tim Hurley, Tracy Hurley and Eddie Dean Hurley, all of Stopover, Ky.; and three grandchildren.

Vida B. Kelly
DUFFIELD -- Vida Beatrice Kelly, 91, of the Duffield Adult Residential Center, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 1998, in Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport.
She was a native of Alabama, moved to Kentucky at an early age, was a graduate of Evarts High School, Evarts, Ky., and a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University.
She was a retired school teacher with the Harlan County School System, was of the Pentecostal faith and a church pianist. She was the widow of Roy M. Kelly.
Survivors include a son, Lew W. Kelly, Hiltons, Va.; two grandsons, Michael Kelly, Bristol Virginia, and Russell Smith, Ivel, Ky.; and four great-grandchildren.
Scott County Funeral Home, Weber City, is in charge.
