Polly H. Holmes
LEBANON -- Mrs. Polly H. Holmes, 86, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1998 in Russell County Medical Center.
She was a lifelong resident of Russell County and was of the Christian faith.
She was the widow of Henry William Holmes.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Ann) Jackson, Abingdon; two sons, Harold S. Holmes, Greeneville, Tenn., and Ronald Holmes, Radford, Va.; a daughter-in-law; two sisters, Grace Cardwell, Saltville, and Earlene Hagy, Michigan; a special grandson; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Myrtle J. Puckett
Mrs. Myrtle J. Puckett, 89, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1998 in Johnston Memorial Hospital.
She was a native of Clintwood and had lived most of her life in Arizona before moving to Richmond then Abingdon in 1981.
She was a retired clerical worker with the Arizona State Department.
Survivors include her husband, Arch Puckett; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no services at the funeral home.

Emma E. Smith
KINGSPORT -- Emma E. Smith, 84, of 818 Oak Street, died Monday, Nov. 23, 1998 in Holston Valley Medical Center.
She was a native of Hawkins County and had lived in the Kingsport area since 1941.
She was a retired nurse and homemaker, and a member of North East Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Claude E. Smith; two daughters, Mrs. James (Peggy) Francisco, Kingsport, and Ms. Emily Trivette, Bristol Tennessee; a son, Robert A. Smith, Kingsport; two sisters, Peggy Dixon, California, and Margaret Gibson, Texas; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Charles E. Thompson
RICHMOND -- Charles Edgar Thompson Sr., died Monday, Nov. 23, 1998.
He was a retired from the City of Richmond Gas and Water Department.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Thompson; four sons, Charles Thompson Jr., Wayne Thompson, Richard Thompson and Roger Thompson; two daughters, Sandra Thompson and Kathy Thompson; six brothers; five sisters; and seven grandchildren.

Charlie R. Whitaker Jr.
Charlie Robert "Chubby" Whitaker Jr., 75, of 1848 Volunteer Parkway, Bristol, Tenn., died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1998, in Wellmont Hospice House.
He was a lifelong resident of Bristol and served as a Staff Sgt. in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
He was a retired U.S. Postal Service employee and was a member of Addilynn Memorial United Methodist Church.
He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Campbell Whitaker.
Survivors include two sons, Dr. Randall Dean "Randy" Whitaker, Dayton, Ohio and C. Robert "Robby" Whitaker III, Bristol, Tennessee; three sisters, Hazel Cross, Mildred Wyatt and Doris Zeiger Horn, all of Bristol Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.

ABINGDON -- Paul Keith Coleman, 30, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1998, in Johnston Memorial Hospital.
He had been a resident of Grundy and Bristol Virginia before moving to Abingdon less than a year ago.
He attended the East Bristol Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Tina Coleman, Abingdon; a son, Nicholas Coleman of the home; a daughter, Lindsey Coleman of the home; his father, Paul Baldwin, Oakwood; his mother, Ima Nipper, Welch, W.Va.; his maternal grandmother, Nicey Riffer; two brothers, Perry Coleman, Duckville, Tenn., and Charles Nipper, Grundy; a sister, Paula Baldwin Adams, Oakwood; two nieces; and two nephews.

DANTE -- Willard Edward Delph, 60, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998, in Russell County Medical Center, Lebanon.
He was a native of Russell County and a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Delph; a daughter, Elizabeth Paige Deel, Castlewood; three sisters, Beulah Ramsey, Castlewood, Mary Castle,
Johnson City, and Marie Mitchell, Washington state; a brother, William Andrew "Chuck" Delph, Castlewood; a grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Mildred Sue Runner Dickerson, 89, of Lowry Hills, Bristol, Virginia, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1998, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Morgantown, W.Va., and had lived in Bristol since 1971.
She was a member of State Street United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, the 1900 Club and the Lowry Hills Garden and Bridge Clubs.
Survivors include her husband, Henry Ashby Dickerson; three daughters, Doris Coward, Austin, Texas, Patricia Mitchell, Dallas, and Jane Dickerson, Northfield, Minn.; a son, Harry Ashby Dickerson, Abingdon; and eight grandchildren.

BEDFORD, Va. -- Ella Mae Fletcher, 70, formerly of Richlands, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998, in a Salem, Va., hospital.
She was a native of McDowell County, W.Va., and the widow of William Boyd Fletcher.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Shari) Mullins, Roanoke; a brother, William Kyle "Bill" Ruble, Thaxton, Va.; a sister, Mrs. Buddy (Joyce Faye) Myers, South Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two grandsons, Robert Mullins and Christopher Mullins; and a granddaughter, Nicki Mullins.

She was a member of Faith Bible Church of Clinchco.
She was the widow of Claude Carson Fuller.
Survivors include a son, Donald Fuller, Charlotte, N.C.; a daughter, Mildred Ann Hill, Clinchco; two grandsons; a granddaughter; two great-grandsons; two sisters, Mary Culbertson and June Williams, both of Clinchco; a brother, Jack Salyers, Clinchco; and several nieces and nephews.
