LEBANON -- Carl H. Price, 83, of Hansonville Community, died Saturday, Nov. 28, 1998, in Lebanon.
He was a lifelong resident of Russell County and a farmer. He was a member of Church Hill United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Gibson Price; two sons, David C. Price, Roanoke, and Giles H. Price, Lebanon; two daughters, Linda Price Royster, Bristol Tennessee, and Judy Jessee Lewis, Bristol Virginia; a sister, Nannie Purcell Caldwell, Sevierville; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

CLINTWOOD -- L. Annette Redden, 76, of Route 2, Long's Fork section, died Saturday, Nov. 28, 1998, at her home.
She was a native of Dickenson County, had resided in Kentucky and Tennessee and had lived in Dickenson County for the past five years.
She was a member of Clintwood Baptist Church and was a registered nurse.
Survivors include her husband, Ray Redden; two sons, Dudley Redden, Pounding Mill, and Tim Redden, Clintwood; a daughter, Angela Back, Lexington, Ky.; two brothers, Curtis Adkins, Coeburn, and Bruce Adkins, Florence, Ky.; a sister, Edith Goodman, Flatrock, N.C.; and four grandchildren.

James B. VanDeventer, 77, of Bristol Virginia, died Saturday, Nov. 28, 1998, in Wellmont Hospice House, Bristol.
He was a native of Lee County and had lived in Bristol for the past 19 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Bristol, a veteran of World War II, and a lifetime member of the Patton-Crosswhite VFW Post No. 6975.
He was a retired accountant.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Edith Breeding VanDeventer.

ABINGDON -- John Ballard Wynegar, 86, of 260 Tanner Street, died Saturday, Nov. 28, 1998, in Johnston Memorial Hospital.
He was a retired farmer and attended Temple Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Cora Love Wynegar; two daughters, Georgia Taylor, Bristol Virginia, and Gladys Young, Piney Flats; a stepson, Eddie Love, Meadowview; two sisters, Mary Ann Shutters, Bristol Tennessee, and Ruby Barker, Abingdon; two brothers, Zack Wynegar, Abingdon, and Scott Wynegar, Polk City, Fla.; ten grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

BLUFF CITY -- Nina Viola Baker, 87, of Cambridge House, died Saturday, Nov. 28, 1998, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Russell County, had lived in the Bristol area for about 40 years and was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church.
She was the widow of Charles H. Baker and was a homemaker.
Survivors include a daughter, Brenda B. Ayers, Bluff City; a son, Charles Berkley, Williamsburg, Va.; four sisters, Nora Duff, Bristol Virginia, Margaret Campbell, Lebanon, Rebecca Bevins, Baltimore, and Lola Brummett, Bristol Tennessee; and three grandchildren.

BLUFF CITY -- Harry Davis "Oz" Hyatt, 52, of 281 Rambling Lane, died Saturday, Nov. 28, 1998, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was a lifelong resident of the Bristol area, a carpenter and a member of Elizabethton Moose Lodge. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietname War and a member of the DAV Chapter 114 of Bluff City AMVETS.
Survivors include his wife, Kay Hyatt; two daughters, Mrs. Mike (Christie) Hensley, Bristol Virginia, and Mrs. Tony (Penny) Clark, Knoxville; two grandchildren, Emilee Kaye and Kaytlin Abigail; five brothers; three sisters; and several nieces and nephews.

CLINTWOOD -- Robert Morris "Moose" Mahan, 54, died Saturday, Nov. 28, 1998, in Dickenson County Medical Center, Clintwood.
He had resided in Dickenson County for the past 24 years and was a member of Clintwood Baptist Church.
He was a graduate of
Powell Valley High School, Class of 1962, and was a U.S. Air Force veteran with the rank of Staff Sgt. He was a member of the Big Stone Gap Kiwanis Club and a member of the Virginia Bankers Association.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Mahan; two sons, Jonas Mahan, Clintwood, and Luke Mahan, Beaufort. S.C.; a brother, Dr. Jack Mahan, Keswick, Va.; a sister, Carolyn Pierce, Big Stone Gap; a granddaughter; four nephews; and a niece.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Lois Josephine McGinnis, 90, died Monday, Nov. 23, 1998, in Orlando, Fla.
She had lived all of her life in the Holston Valley community until she moved to Orlando two and a half years ago. She was a retired school teacher.
Survivors include a brother, Hugh McGinnis, Frederick, Md.; and several nieces and nephews.
