Billy Vanover
POUND -- Billy Vanover, 75, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 1998, at his home.
He was of the Freewill Baptist faith, a retired miner, retired from the Town of Wise, and was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Vanover, and his second Wife, Mary Vanover.
Survivors include two daughters, Jeanette Vanover and Emma Jean Hubbard, both of Pound; a son, Glen Vanover, Wise; two brothers, Joseph "Ked" Vanover, Pound, and Bruce Vanover, Big Stone Gap; and two grandchildren.
Baker Funeral Home, Pound, is in charge.

Louise P. Bolling
COEBURN -- Louise Phillips Bolling, 71, formerly of Tacoma, Va., died Monday, Dec. 21, 1998, in the Scenic View Health and Rehabilitation Center, King, N.C.
She was a sales clerk for the Dave's Department Store, Norton, and a member of the Tacoma Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Paul Phillips, Walnut Cove, N.C.; two stepsons, Bob Bolling, Buena Vista, Va., and Norman Bolling, Washington, D.C.; two brothers, Grover Williams, Jonesville, Va., and Curlin Williams, Hickory, N.C.; a sister, Evelyn Vogt, Dayton, Ohio; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Sturgill Funeral Home, Coeburn, is in charge.

Minnie C. Bonham
BIG STONE GAP -- Minnie Clircy Bonham, 90, died Monday, Dec. 21, 1998, in Wellmont Lonesome Pine Hospital.
She was a native of Inman, Va., had lived in Appalachia most of her life and had lived in Big Stone Gap in her later years. She was a member of the Holiness Church of God in Jesus Name, Big Stone Gap.
She was the widow of Lawerence C. Bonham.
Survivors include three stepdaughters, Ruth Bush, Big Stone Gap, Thelma Sanders, Coeburn, and Peggy Muney, North Carolina; a brother, Burley Maggard, Kentucky; a sister, Belle Bowman, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.
Holding Funeral Home, Big Stone Gap, is in charge.

Ora O. Cantrell
XENIA, Ohio -- Ora Ollie Mullins Cantrell, 94, formerly of Pound, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 1998, at her home.
She was the widow of Elzie Cantrell.
Survivors include three daughters, Pauline Holliday and Cotella Boggs, both of Xenia, Ohio, and Ova Mullins, Strasburg, Va.; five sons, Newton Cantrell and Bill Cantrell, both of Pound, Robbie Cantrell, Xenia, Ohio, Tobby Cantrell, Luray, Va., and Richard Cantrell, Jamestown, Ohio; 22 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Raymond P. Castle Sr.
BLUEFIELD, Va. -- Raymond P. Castle Sr., 90, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 1998.
He was a native of Virginia, a retired mine foreman with U.S. Steele, in Gary, W.Va., and a member of the First Church of God, in Bluefield, Va.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Blevins Castle, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two sons, Raymond P. Castle Jr., Elbert, W. Va., and Robert Jerry Castle, Hickory, N.C.; four daughters, Mrs. Arnold (Georgia Joyce) Coffey, Bluefield, W.Va., Mrs. Gordon (Clara) Booher, Charlotte, N.C., Mrs. Robert (Janet Lynn) Barnes, Bluefield, Va., and Mrs. Jim (Virginia Lee) Moore, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; three sisters, Neta Johnson, Castlewood, Clara Barnett, Bristol Tennessee, and Nettie Rutherford, Bluff City; 17 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Richard A. Faber
ELIZABETHTON -- Richard A. Faber, 61, died Monday, Dec. 21, 1998, in Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
He was a native of Clinton, Iowa, a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korea War, and a member of the American Legion.
He was a retired radio//television repairman and was preceded in death by his wife, Bertie Jo Faber.
Survivors include a son, Clifford Faber, Canton, Ill.; three stepsons, William Lloyd Shores, Sterling, Ill., Charles J. Shores, Bristol Tennessee, and Norman Larson, Johnson City; a daughter, Dawn Kallner, Fort Myers, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Jackie Everett, Bristol Virginia; his father, Edgar John Faber, Mendota, Ill.; 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, is in charge.

Lloyd P. Frye
CHILHOWIE -- Lloyd P. Frye,. 86, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 1998, in Francis Marion Manor Nursing Home, Marion.
Survivors include two sons, Charles W. "C.W." Frye and Glenn David Frye, both of Chilhowie; a brother, W.G. "Dub" Frye, Chilhowie; a sister, Bertha Lee Henderson, Bristol Virginia; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Williams Funeral Home, Chilhowie, is in charge.

Georgia J. Gobble
ABINGDON -- Georgia J. Gobble, 87, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 1998, in Abingdon Manor Home for the Aged.
She was a lifelong resident of Abingdon and a former seamstress for the Barter Theater.
Survivors include several nieces and cousins.
Campbell Funeral Home, Abingdon, is in charge.

Garland R. Hogston
TAZEWELL -- Garland Ronald Hogston, 55, of the Dogwood Estates, formerly of Bandy, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 1998, in a Tazewell hospital.
He was a native of Tazewell County, a self-employed carpenter and a member of the Whitaker Ridge Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his wife, Connie Reynolds Hogston; two daughters, Rhonda Lee Hogston, Cedar Bluff, and Ashely Nichole Hogston, Bluefield, Va.; a stepdaughter, Becky Hale, Tazewell; a stepson, Jason Hale, Newport News; four brothers, Kenneth Hogston, Cedar Bluff, Joseph Hogston, Bandy, Arlie Hogston, Silver Springs, Md., and Willard Hogston, Hyattsville, Md.; 13 nieces; and nine nephews.
Singleton Funeral Service, Cedar Bluff, is in charge.

Estil K. Justus
LEXINGTON, N.C. -- Estil Kilgore Justus, 49, formerly of Buchanan County, died Monday, Dec. 21, 1998.
Grundy Funeral Home is in charge.

Peggy M. King
Peggy M. King, 58, formerly of Carolina Avenue, Bristol, Tennessee, died Monday, Dec. 21, 1998, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was a lifelong resident of Bristol Tennessee and a dietary department employee with Bristol Regional Medical Center for about 26 years.
She was a member of Ruth Street Church of God.
Survivors include her husband, Larry W. King Sr., Florida; three sons, Larry W. King Jr., Elizabethton, James D. "Jimmy" King, Bristol Tennessee, and John E. King, Hickory Tree; two daughters, Margaret Baines and Shannon King, both of Bristol Tennessee; a sister, Anna "Girlie" Clark, Bristol Tennessee; a brother, Millard Epperson, Bristol Tennessee; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Emily D. Lyttle
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- Emily Dickenson Lyttle, 100, formerly of the Castlewood-St. Paul area, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 1998.
Survivors include a daughter, Deborah L. Thomas, Madison, Ala.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Huff-Cook Funeral Home, Castlewood, is in charge.
