HARRISON
Mr. Samuel W. Harrison, age 80, of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2002 in Lebanon, Virginia. Born June 29, 1921 in Richmond, Virginia, he was the son of the late Richard and Hattie Mitchell Harrison. He had lived in Honaker for a year, moving here from Richmond. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the United States Army. He was of the Baptist faith and a retired truck driver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Georgia Ritchie Harrison; and one sister, Louise Harrison Condrey. Survivors include his wife, Susan Harrison of the home; one brother, James B. Harrison of Richmond, Virginia; one stepdaughter, Jaqueline Marie Williams of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; one stepson, James Michael Harshbarger of Raven, Virginia; special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Frank and Joann Ritchie of Honaker, Virginia; nine stepgrandchildren and nine step-great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia, with Rev. Peerman Lester officiating. The friends may call at the Honaker Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday. Graveside services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Maury Cemetery in Richmond, Virginia. Friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery.

JOHNSON
William "W.I." Johnson III, of 3107 Edgewood Ave., died April 29, 2002. Surviving are his wife, Lucy H. Johnson; two daughters, Mary J. Strayhorn and Anne E. Johnson; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; four stepchildren, Fay A. Howlette (John), Zena Rose, Hamlet III (Felicia) and Curtis S. (Toni) Herring; four stepgrandchildren; two sisters, Geraldine J. Shelton and Florence J. Ford; three sisters-in-law, Eileen Davidson, Margaret and Emma Johnson; brother-in-law, William Chatman Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Mr. Johnson was the owner of W.I. Johnson Funeral Home, formerly located at 19 West Leigh Street in Historic Jackson Ward, Richmond. Remains rest at the Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd. After 12 noon Friday remains will rest in First African Baptist Church, 2700 Hanes Ave., where funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Dennis Thomas officiating. Cremation will follow.

KEITH
Almighty God called home to glory Mrs. Verneter Mcbride Keith on April 27, 2002. She leaves to cherish her precious memory four generations; one son, Curtis Lee Johnson; and devoted daughter, Geraldine Johnson; two stepsons, Cliff and Lewis Johnson, both of Atlanta, Ga.; 44 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren and 40 great-great-grandchildren; three daughters-in-law, a host of other relatives and friends. She also leaves her extended families; Dr. and Mrs. Horwitz and Mr. and Mrs. Lowenstein and children. Remains rest at the Chiles Funeral Home, 2100 Fairmount Ave. Funeral services will be held on Friday 1 p.m. from Triumphant Baptist Church, 2003 Lamb Ave. Dr. Arthur M. Jones officiating. LEHNER-HARDIN
Mary Hailey Lehner Hardin, 42, of Richmond, passed away April 29, 2002. She is survived by her husband, Kevin C. Hardin; mother, Barbara Ward; father and stepmother, Jimmy and Hilda Hailey; daughters, Bambi Weeks and Tammy McAdams; son, K.C. Hardin Jr.; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Kathy Hailey; and six grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Rd. MOSBY
Mrs. Rosa Lee Mosby, 78, of Richmond, departed this life April 30, 2002. Mrs. Mosby was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Mosby; her sisters, Mary Brown, Ethel Jenkins, Sadie Jackson; her brother, Bruce Jackson; and her niece, Dorothy Jones. She is survived by her great-nephew, Maurice Jones; cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, May 3, 2002 at 11 a.m. at W. S. Watkins & Son Funeral Home, 2700 North Ave. Rev. Paul Allen Coles officiating. Interment Woodland Cemetery.

NGUYEN
Phu Van Nguyen, 48, of Glen Allen, died May 1, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Cuc Kim Thi Nguyen; his four children, Long P. Nguyen and wife, Phung P. Nguyen and husband, Lan P. Nguyen and Qui N. Nguyen; a sister, Dung P. Nguyen and her family; a nephew, Hoa Tran and his family; and a niece, Cam Trinh. Mr. Nguyen was the manager of NTK Computer, a family-owned business. His remains rest at the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 West Broad St., Glen Allen, where the family will receive friends Friday, May 3 from 5 to 9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 4 at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Vietnamese Martyrs. Interment private.

OWEN
Margery Knowles Owen died unexpectedly after a long bout with heart disease and Parkinson's Disease. Born on February 7, 1929, she was the only child of John Frederick Knowles and Mary Harris Knowles. She was a member of and past president of the Boxwood Garden Club and was an accredited judge of the Garden Club of Virginia flower shows. She was the first president of the Junior Board of the William Byrd Community House, a member and former Board member of the Woman's Club and of the Richmond Chapter of the American Red Cross. She was a member of St. James's Episcopal Church, a former area representative of Barnard College and an avid supporter of the Virginia Museum Council. She was a graduate of St. Catherine's School and Barnard College. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Dr. Heth Owen Jr.; a daughter, Margery Knowles Owen; a son, Heth Owen III, his wife, Tanya Van DenHeuvel Owen and their three children, Heth Owen IV, Massey Knowles Owen and Isabel Nicole Owen. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Hollywood Cemetery. REYNARD
Thelma Juanita (Luckey) Reynard, 80, of 2014 Third Street and wife of George P. Reynard, died at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2002 in the Augusta Medical Center, Fisherville. She was born on March 4, 1922 in Sedalia, Mo., a daughter of George E. and Ella M. (Collins) Luckey. Mrs. Reynard was valedictorian of the class of 1940 of Smith-Cotton High School in Sedalia, Mo. She was a homemaker and an avid craftsperson. Surviving in addition to her husband whom she married on December 24, 1943 are two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael G. and Linda J. Reynard of Mt. Crawford and Donald L. and Patti Reynard of Palmyra; two daughters, Georgia R. Short of Columbia and Kathlyn P. Reynard of Sterling; a sister, Shirley L. Youngbloom of Houston, Texas; and four grandchildren, Brook L. Reynard, Morgan A. Reynard, Lucas C. Reynard, and Lydia E. Reynard, all of Palmyra. A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, May 3, 2002 in Thornrose Cemetery with Father John A. Abe officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 this evening in the Henry Funeral Home. ROBERTSON
Delilah Brown Robertson of Richmond, widow of Thomas Edward Robertson, died Wednesday, May 1, 2002. She is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Robertson and her husband, Eric Rosen and Mary Ann Robertson and her husband, Richard Forrest; three grandchildren, Hillary, Hannah and Woody Forrest; and her niece, Terrie B. Hayes. The family will receive friends 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 3 in Maury Cemetery. RUBY
Leo J. Ruby Jr. of Louisa, Va., died Tuesday, April 30, 2002. He is survived by his children, Cindy Lollar, Janis Hodson and Bryan Ruby; one brother, three sisters. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday in St. Jude's Catholic Church, Mineral, Va. Interment in Spring Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. SCHABENER
Robert Henry Schabener, 72, of Colonial Heights, died May 1, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Lois Schabener; two sons, William R. Schabener of Mountaintop, Pa. and Richard H. Schabener of Chester, Va.; four grandchildren and four step-grandchildren. Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, May 4, 11 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, Chester, Va. SIEGEL
John Tyler Siegel died on April 29, 2002. Born in Richmond, Va. in 1939, Mr. Siegel graduated from St. Christopher's School in 1957 and from Princeton University in 1961. Upon his graduation from college, Mr. Siegel served in the U.S. Navy for four years where he achieved the rank of Lieut. (j.g.). After completing his service in the military, Mr. Siegel attended the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia where he earned an MBA in 1967. Moving back to Richmond, he joined Wheat First Securities. Three years later, Mr. Siegel co-founded the investment management firm of Thompson, Siegel and Walmsley. Under the guidance of Mr. Siegel and his two partners, the firm enjoyed growth and prosperity, eventually becoming one of the largest investment management firms in the Southeast. He served on the corporate boards of United Asset Management and Investors' Savings and Loan. Active in civic and educational affairs, he served on the boards of St. Christopher's School, St. Catherine's School, the Christian Children's Fund and Virginia Union University. Mr. Siegel was a member of the Country Club of Virginia, the Commonwealth Club, Kinloch Golf Club and the Loch Lomond Golf Club in Scotland. Mr. Siegel was passionate about restoring historic properties, travel and wing shooting. He devoted several years to the loving renovation of Chericoke, a family farm in King William County, Stone Hollow in Augusta County, Deer Lodge in Goochland County and a flat in Belgravia, London. He treasured his time spent with friends in the fields pursuing game, hosting family events or sitting on the hill at Chericoke overlooking the Pamunkey River. He is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 39 years, Alice Horsley Siegel; his mother, Francis Tyler Siegel of Richmond; and three children, John T. Siegel Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth England Siegel of Alexandria, Va., Carter Horsley Siegel of Orlando, Fla., and Elizabeth Winston Siegel of Richmond, Va.; one grandson, John England Siegel of Alexandria, Va.; and his brother, Louis Pendleton Siegel of Spokane, Wash. A service will be held at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 2, with a graveside ceremony following at the Chericoke plot in Hollywood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to either the Christian Children's Fund or St. Christopher's School.

SLEDGE
Melvin Sledge, born September 8, 1949, departed this life April 29, 2002. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Elizabeth Sledge; and his brother, Ralph Sledge. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Wyetta; three sons, Earl and Joseph Thomas and Melvin Jones; four daughters, Karen Wynn, Crystal and Karen Jones and Kimberly Drake; 10 grandchildren, three sisters, three brothers, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; devoted mother-in-law, Mary J. Crawford; six sisters-in-law, five brothers-in-law; other relatives and friends, among them two devoted friends, Virgil Adkins and Al Moody. Remains rest at Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 N. 25th St., where the family will receive friends Thursday, 7 to 8 p.m., and where funeral services will be held Friday, 1 p.m. Rev. Ronald C. Taylor officiating. Burial Maury Cemetery.

STEBBINS
Earl Anson Stebbins, 82, of Richmond, died April 30, 2002 after a very brief illness. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 48 years, M. Corinne Stebbins; and his grandchild, Christina Marie Caselli. He is survived by his five children, James T. Stebbins of Manassas, Va., Cynthia A. Stebbins of Boston, Mass., Deborah S. Caselli of Woodbridge, Va., Mary S. Yazdgerdi of Richmond, Va. and Tracy A. Springer of Rochester, N.Y.; his sister, Margaret Finnerty of Gueydan, La.; 12 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Stebbins was a native of Gueydan, La. and an engineering graduate of University of Southwestern Louisiana. He was a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during WWII and served on a minesweeper in the Pacific theater. He and his wife, Corinne, raised their five children in Fayetteville, N.Y. while Mr. Stebbins was employed as a manager at General Electric. He retired from GE after 42 years and relocated to Richmond, Va. A lifelong athlete, Mr. Stebbins enjoyed tennis, skiing, and golf and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the Syracuse Orangemen. He was a vibrant, dynamic man with a deep love of family and he will be greatly missed. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 4 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Joseph's Home, 1503 Michael Road. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 1503 Michael Road, Richmond, Va. 23229.

THOMAS
James C. (Mouse) Thomas Sr., age 64, died at his residence on April 30, 2002. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Darlene (Miz Brown); his four children, Kim and her husband, Ronnie, Carla and her husband, Mike, Jimmy and his fiancee, Jacqueline and Chuck and his wife, Jennifer; his five grandchildren, J.C., Loryn, Megan, Jake and Rachel; and two stepgrandchildren, Mitra and Nadia, all of Richmond. He is also survived by one brother, William C. Thomas of Chesapeake; two sisters, Zellene Rasnake and Elizabeth Alspaugh, both of Richmond and many other caring family members and friends. Mr. Thomas was the owner of J.C. Thomas Htg. & A/C, in which he took a lot of pride. His remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where the family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m., and where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2002. Interment Dale Memorial Park. Donations may be made in Mr. Thomas' name to the Forest View Volunteer Rescue Squad, 8008 Midlothian Tnpk., Richmond, Va. 23235.
