Albert T. Sharrett
MENDOTA -- Albert Teeter Sharrett, 86, died Thursday, Jan. 28, 1999, at his home.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, Va., and a retired farmer. He was a musician who played on radio station WOPI in the 1930s, and still enjoyed his music until his death.
He was a member of North Bristol Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Conley Sharrett; three daughters, Robbie Jo Sharrett, Blowing Rock, N.C., Mary Darlene Halstead, Bristol Virginia, and Patricia Sharrett Edwards, Chilhowie; a son, Dean Buckley Sharrett, Ontario, Calif.; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and two nieces.

Zelma S. St. Clair
GRUNDY -- Zelma Louise Stiltner St. Clair, 62, of the Home Creek Section of Route 1, died Thursday, Jan. 28, 1999, at her home.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Buchanan County, a member of Grundy Church of Christ and a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Lee St. Clair; three sisters, Virginia Looney, Mavis Robinson and Elizabeth Stump, all of Grundy; and four brothers, Jessie Stiltner,
Johnson City, Paul Stiltner, Jay Stiltner and Lonnie Thomas, all of Grundy.

WYTHEVILLE -- Alvin Homer "Tooney" Taylor, 72, died Thursday, Jan. 28, 1999, in Roanoke Community Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Allene Creger Taylor; two sons, Carlos Taylor, Bristol Virginia, and Danny A. Taylor, Wytheville; three sisters, Miss Hazel Taylor, Lottie Walters and Mrs. Ralph (Mattie) Layne, all of Wytheville; two brothers, Robert "Bob" Taylor and Norris Taylor, both of Wytheville; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

BLOUNTVILLE -- Benjamin "Bennie" Barnes, 65, died Thursday, Jan. 28, 1999, in James H. Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Mountain Home.
He was a member of the Blountville United Methodist Church, had lived most of his life in Blountville and was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys Conant Barnes; three daughters, Gwendalyn Barnes, Limestone, Tenn., Dee Dee Barnes Jones, Blountville, and Mrs. Allen (Annette) Houser, Bluff City; a sister, Mrs. Mark (Dennie) Ferguson, Blountville; a brother, J.D. Barnes,
Johnson City; two granddaughters; and three grandsons.

Ben H. Blankenship
HONAKER -- Ben H. Blankenship, 69, died Friday, Jan. 29, 1999, in a Richlands hospital.
He was a native of Page, Va., had resided in the Honaker area for the past 21 years, and was a retired coal miner, formerly employed by Red Jacket Coal Company.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ at Blackford.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Blankenship; two daughters, Amanda Coleman, Lebanon, and Kathy Blankenship, Colorado; a son, Benjamin Blankenship, Honaker; a sister, Dolly Gracie Hale, Tazewell; five brothers, Luther Blankenship, Richlands, Floyd Junior Blankenship, Tazewell, Bill Blankenship and James Blankenship, both of Oakwood, and Brady Blankenship, Honaker; a granddaughter, Brittney Coleman; and several nieces and nephews.

Robin Bowman
DAMASCUS -- Robin Bowman, 29, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, in
Johnson City Medical Center.
She was a native of Damascus and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a daughter, Cheyenne Brianna Bowman of the home; her parents, David and Juanita Fain, Damascus; a brother, Davey Fain, Damascus; two sisters, Misty and Amber Fain, both of Damascus, her maternal grandparents, Charles and Mary Barr, Damascus; her paternal grandmother, Mary Fain, Damascus; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held Sunday in Konnarock, Va.

Finis Deskins
CASTLEWOOD -- Finis Deskins, 93, died Friday, Jan. 29, 1999, in Russell County Medical Center, Lebanon.
He was a native of Russell County, a retired miner and a member of UMWA Local No. 7950.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sally Deskins, and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a foster son, Billy Castle; two foster grandsons, Chris Castle and David Castle, both of St. Paul; and several nieces and nephews.

GATE CITY -- Jimmy Paul Flanary, 57, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, in Holston Valley Medical Center.

John A. Gerenday, 73, of Bristol Tennessee, died Friday, Jan. 29, 1999, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He retired to Bristol in 1987. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Patrick Gerenday; two sisters, Helen Stewart, Brunswick, Ohio, and Audean Slota, Rocky River, Ohio; a brother, Donald Gerenday, Cleveland, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and several great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

POUND -- Bertha Lee Chester Hubbard, 87, died Friday, Jan. 29, 1999, in St. Mary's Hospital, Norton.
She was a charter member of Lone Pine Chapel Church and the widow of James Elvra Hubbard.
Survivors include five daughters, Mary Ellen Mullins, Fairfield, Calif., Norma Jean Grimes, Orange Park, Fla., Beatrice Lee Duncan, Tabor City, N.C., Shirley Meade, Pound, and Darlene Moore, Wise; three sons, Thomas Olen Hubbard, Grovertown, Ga., Everett Hubbard, Chester, S.C., and Ronnie Hubbard, Pound; four sisters, Maudie Mullins, Gresham, Ore., Minnie Hubbard, Pound, Hattie Moore, Fredericksburg, Va., and Margie Galka, Middlesex, N.J.; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

George W. Ison Sr.
George Wesley Ison Sr., 67, of Bristol Cavern Highway, died Friday, Jan. 29, 1999, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Scott County, a retired tile and carpet mechanic, and attended Kingdom Life Ministries in Bristol Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Hillman Ison.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Brenda Turner, Bristol Tennessee, and Mrs. Kathy Parish, Tampa, Fla.; two sons, George W. Ison Jr.,
Johnson City, and Frank Edward Ison, Bristol Tennessee; two brothers, Carl Ison and Roy Ison, both of Gate City; a sister, Mrs. Nancy Keener, Wellington, Ohio; ten grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
