SAWMILLS, N.C. -- James Sullivan, 71, formerly of Honaker, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998, in a Hickory, N.C., hospital.
He was a native of Russell County, had resided in North Carolina for the past ten years, moving there from Swords Creek. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a retired coal miner and attended the Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Dye Sullivan; two daughters, Teresa Lynn Clark, Sawmills, and Judy Carol Wood, Lenoir, N.C.; a sister, Jessie May Miller, Wauchula, Fla.; a brother, Earl Sullivan, St. Louisville, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

WYTHEVILLE -- James Alfred Henley, 76, died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 1998, in Wythe County Community Hospital.
He was a native of Wythe County, a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and the manager of Wytheville Livestock Market for 47 years.
Survivors include his wife, Eva Wayve Henley; a son, Dr. James Alfred Henley Jr., Chattanooga; a sister, Elsie Henley, Richmond; and two brothers, George Henley, Richmond, and Robert Henley, Vinton, Va.

Freddie Hicks
CHILHOWIE -- Freddie Hicks, 50, died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 1998, at his home.
He was an employee of the Appalachian Power Company for 27 years.
He was a member of the Chilhowie Christian Church and was a member of the Moose Lodge in Seven Mile Ford.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Hicks; a son, Brian Allen Hicks, Abingdon; two daughters, Jaylnn Cassie Hicks, of the home, and Melissa Burkett Vance, Marion; his mother, Charlotte Louise Hicks, Saltville; two sisters, Nell Branson, Emory, and Barbara Harrison, Lawton, Okla.; a grandson; a nephew; and three nieces.

DANTE, Va. -- Charles A. "C.A." Long, 67, died Monday, Dec. 7, 1998, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of West Dante, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a retired employee from Phillips Auto, St. Paul.
He was a member and deacon of Phillips Chapel Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Marshall Long; three daughters, Deborah Compton and Lisa Musick, both of West Dante and Connie Shortt, Lebanon; a son, Michael Long, Sandy Ridge, Va.; his mother, Rosa Holbrook Buchanan, Lenoir, N.C.; a brother, Willie C. Long, Morganton, N.C.; a stepbrother, David Buchanan, Greear, S.C.; two half-sisters, Faye Yates, Chamberburg, Penn., and Sandra Edwards, Kingsport; two half-brothers, Ken Long, Westerville, Ohio, and Eric Long, Jonesborough; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

POUND -- Dacie Little Osborne, 91, died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 1998, in St. Mary's Hospital, Norton.
She was a member of Enterprise Old Regular Baptist Church, Virgie, Ky., owner of Indian Creek Shell service station and the widow of Hosea Osborne.
Survivors include four daughters, Zulema Osborne, Virgie, Pearl Holt, Beaverton, Mich., June Little, Davidson, Mich., and Vonda Hall, Indianapolis; a sister, Oma Seymore, South Gate, Mich.; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

MONROE, N.C. -- Mary Cheshire Piercy, 84, died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 1998, in Union Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Iredell County, N.C., a homemaker and was formerly employed as a baker with The Country Curb Market in Charlotte.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, attended Mineral Springs United Methodist Church and was the widow of Ursual Woodford Piercy.
Survivors include two sons, Alford Piercy, Charlotte, and Virgil Piercy, Bristol Virginia; two daughters, Mrs. Nell Starnes, Mineral Springs, N.C., and Mrs. Frances Branch, Monroe; a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Keener, Matthews, N.C., and a grandson.
Funeral services and burial will be held Friday in Monroe.

Christian Wayne Reynolds, infant son of Wayne and Amy Reynolds of 8822 Rich Valley Road, Bristol, Va., died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 1998, at his home.

SILER CITY, N.C. -- Edgar Henderson Wallace, 88, died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 1998.
She was a native of Abingdon, had lived in Aldergate Apartments, Greensboro, N.C., for the past 20 years, prior to moving to her daughter's home in June.
She was of the Friends Faith and was a member of Hunter Hills Friends Meeting.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. George (Gale) Paire, Siler City; a son, Errol Wallace, Collinsville, Va.; a sister, Pauline Waldron, Newport News, Va.; seven grandchildren, Leslie Hunt, Kathryn Cox, Carol Sizemore, Kimberly Watson, Laura Clark, Errol Wallace Jr., and Angela Waldo; and ten great-grandchildren.

BLUFF CITY -- Christopher Lee Wilson, 38, died Monday, Dec. 7, 1998, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Bristol and had lived most of his life in the area.
He was a former employee with the City of Bristol Tennessee and attended Sunset Village Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Kay Wilson; a son, Donald Gene Wilson of the home; a daughter, Christina Katherine Wilson of the home; his parents, Ernest Clyde Wilson and Nanny Irene Bray Wilson, Hazard, Ky.; three sisters, Barbara Ann Doss and Vickie Lynn Childress, both of Bristol Tennessee and Teresa Jones, Hazard; an aunt; and several uncles, nieces and nephews.
