WATAUGA -- Carl E. Scott Jr., 66, of 465 Old Rock Hill Road, died Thursday, Feb. 4, 1999, in James H. Quillen Veteran Affairs Medical Center at Mountain Home.
He was a native of Watauga and had lived most of his life there. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War and retired after 31 years of employment with Burlington Industries in
Johnson City.
He was a member of the VFW Post No. 2166 and the Moose Lodge, both in Elizabethton. He operated a flea market booth for the past ten years at Street's Flea Market in Elizabethton.
Mr. Scott was a member of the Lick Creek Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Louise Watson Scott; a son, Carl Scott of Piney Flats; three daughters, Sherry Taylor of Piney Flats, Darlene
Johnson and Melinda Scott, both of
Johnson City; his mother, Irene Feathers Scott of Watauga; six brothers, Bob Scott, Jackson Scott and Gene Scott, all of Watauga, Ray Scott and Wallace Scott, both of Piney Flats, and Herman Scott of Littlestown, Pa.; two sisters, Patsy Bupp of Gainesville, Fla., and Brenda Scott of Watauga; four grandsons; two granddaughters; two great-grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

SALTVILLE -- George William Terry, 77, died Thursday, Feb. 4, 1999, in Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion.
He was a retired farmer and a veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Lee Terry.
Survivors include a son, William C. "Bimbo" Terry of Saltville; two daughters, Rita Terry and Susan Jackson, both of Saltville; five grandchildren, Melissa Brown, Beth Hoff, David Jackson, Tony Terry and Adam Terry; and three great-grandchildren.

Laura Bell Rock Clark, 95, of 301 Randolph St., Bristol, Va., died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, in Cambridge House, Bristol, Tenn.
She was a lifelong resident of the Bristol area.
She was a member of the North Bristol Baptist Church and a member of the Willing Workers Circle.
Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Dye of Bristol Virginia; a son, the Rev. Lewis Clarke of Bristol Virginia; four grandchildren, David Clarke, Dwight Clarke, Terry Dye Parks, Karen Dye; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was a former banker and vice-president of Dominion Bankshares//First Union Bank, having served in Appalachia, Coeburn, and Big Stone Gap, branches.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and was of the Protestant faith.
Survivors include his wife, Debby Chandler Collier; two daughters, Wendi Collier of Arlington, Va.; and Nicole Dingus of Big Stone Gap; a son, Jonathan Dingus of Kingsport; his parents, Madeline and A.T. Collier Sr., of Big Stone Gap; two brothers, Gary W. Collier of Port Orange, Fla., and Rick Collier of Big Stone Gap; a sister, Sonya K. Arnold of Brevard, N.C., and several nieces and nephews.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Bristol and Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband, Russell Daugherty; a son, Bill Daugherty; a daughter, Mrs. Ray (Sharon) Gillenwater; three sisters, Demple Jones, Gertrude Lane and Opal Cox; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church.

She was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County and a housewife.

She was the widow of her first husband, Fletcher K. Page.

Survivors include his wife, Connie J. White; two sons, Richie Goode of Knoxville, and Gregory Lapp of Galt, Calif.; two granddaughters, a sister, Patsy Cody of Jonesborough, Tenn.; a niece; two great nephews; and a great-niece.

He was a native of Sullivan County and the son of the late Doss and Minnie Bowman Lingerfelt. He as a retired carpenter and was of the Free Will Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Lingerfelt; two daughters, Dorothy Arnold, Bristol Tennessee, and Carolyn Barnett, Bluff City; a son, Henry Lingerfelt, Erwin; three brothers, Worley Lingerfelt and Bobby Lingerfelt, both of Bristol Tennessee, and J.D. Lingerfelt, Mountain City; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
