CHILHOWIE -- Reece Warren Abel, 71, died Sunday, March 7, 1999, at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Carol Abel; a daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Wanda Rebecca) Lethcoe of Abingdon; a step-granddaughter, Tosha Lethcoe; and several nieces and nephews.

Jerry V. Bates
NORTON -- Jerry Vermont "Red Dog" Bates, 59, of Roberts Avenue, died Saturday, March 6, 1999, at his home.
He was a native of Norton, where he lived a great portion of his life. He lived in Maryland for a number of years, where he was employed as a lumberjack.
He was of the Protestant faith and was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Bates.
Survivors include four sisters, Joan Hamilton and Shirley Cleary, both of Norton, Fredia McAmis of Coeburn, and Janice Mullins of Dryden, Va.; five brothers, Bob Bates of Norton, Donald "Sonny" Bates of McLeansville, N.C., Bill Bates of Medford, Mass., Freddy Bates of Greensboro, N.C., and Jimmy Bates of Sandy Ridge, N.C.; several aunts and uncles; and several nieces and nephews.

Harry V. Boyd
MEADOWVIEW -- Harry V. Boyd, 75, died Sunday, March 7, 1999, in Johnston Memorial Hospital.
He was a native of Washington County and had served with the civilian Conservation Corps.
He was a heavy equipment mechanic and had been employed with Talbert-Marks Construction Company in Clarksville, Va., and Vecellio-Grogan Construction Company in Beckley, W.Va.
Survivors include two sons, Harry L. Boyd of Amma, W.Va., and Steve A. Boyd of Goodview, Va.; a daughter, Brenda Lawson of Abingdon; a brother, John Boyd of Saltville; a sister, Cletis Dishman of Glade Spring; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Dakota A. Defriece
LEBANON -- Dakota Allen Defriece, infant son of Chad and Karen Defriece, died Sunday, March 7, 1999, in
Johnson City Medical Center.
Survivors include a half-sister, Candra
Jones of Lebanon; his paternal grandparents, Stanley and Nancy Defriece of Bristol Tennessee; his maternal grandparents, Norman and Barbara Bryant of Honaker; his maternal great-grandparents, Andrew and Lois Cox of Honaker; and several aunts and uncles.

Ollie H. Fletcher
HONAKER -- Ollie H. Fletcher, 71, died Saturday, March 6, 1999, at her home.
She was a native of Russell County and had resided in Russell County most of her life.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Honaker, the Order of the Eastern Star Counts Chapter 180 of Honaker and the widow of Howard B. Fletcher.
Mrs. Fletcher was formerly associated with her husband in the operation of Howard's Scales in Honaker.
Survivors include a daughter, Connie Sue Fletcher of the home; two sisters, Bertha Ann Hubbard of Cleveland, Va., and Dona
Brown of Cedar Bluff; and several nieces and nephews.

George E. Frayser
ABINGDON -- George Edwin Frayser, 82, died Saturday, March 6, 1999, in Johnston Memorial Hosptial.
He was a native of Cumberland County and had resided in many parts of the state, living many years in Alexandria. He had resided in Abingdon for the past ten years.
He was a member of Abingdon Baptist Church and was active in the First Baptist Church and the Del-Rey Baptist Church, both of Alexandria. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in Ireland, England, North Africa and Italy.
Mr. Frayser was a retired civilian employee with the Department of the Army with 34 years of service. He retired in 1975 as Chief Analyst of the Army Board of the Correction of military Records. He received the Civilian Meritorious Service Medal presented by the Department of the Army.
He was a Mason for 47 years, a member of the Henry Knox Fields Blue Lodge in Alexandria and was a Master Mason.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Gobble Frayser; a brother, William Guy Frayser of Richmond; and a sister, Gladys Glass of Richmond.

Dorothy P. Frye
BROADFORD-SALTVILLE, Va. -- Dorothy Price Frye, 72, died Saturday, March 6, 1999.
She was the widow of Dan E. Frye Jr.
Survivors include a son, Dan Price Frye of Broadford; two daughters, Sharon Hall of Bristol Virginia, and Karen Ould of Appomattox, Va.; three brothers, Jim Price of Saltville, Doug Price of Chilhowie, and Bob Price of Glade Spring; a granddaughter; a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

MILLNER, Ga. -- McArthur "Mack" Hill, 55, formerly of Haysi, died Thursday, March 4, 1999, in Millner.
He was a native of Dickenson County, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a Mason.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Hunt Hill; two sons, Scott Hill and Randy Hill; four brothers, Finas Hill of Haysi, Earl Hill of Canton, Mich., Jimmy Darrell Hill of Beebe, Ark., and Marvin Hill of Abingdon; three sisters, Rosa Deel of Haysi, Mae Bowman of Big Stone Gap, and Mary Round of Belleville, Mich.

Marge Killian
Marge Killian, 87, of Bristol, formerly of Kingsport, died Saturday, March 6, 1999, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Greeneville, had resided in Kingsport most of her life, was a homemaker and a member of Mafair United Methodist Church.
She was the widow of Raymond Killian.
Survivors include two sons, Doug Killian of Bristol, and Bob Killian of Raleigh, N.C.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Maude L. Litton
Maude L. Litton, 83, formerly of 290 Suncrest Drive, Bristol, Va., died Sunday, March 7, 1999, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was a longtime resident of Bristol Virginia and a former employee of Olan Mills.
She was the widow of Robert L. Litton and a member of Euclid Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Litton Campbell of Jacksonville, Fla.; a son, Robert Wayne Litton of Atlanta; two brothers, Jack Goodson of Bristol Tennessee, and Bertsy Goodson of Fayetteville, N.C.; two grandsons; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Rolfe C. Mullins
Johnson CITY -- Rolfe C. Mullins, 75, died Sunday, March 7, 1999, in the
Johnson City Medical Center.
He was a native of Duty, Va., and had lived in
Johnson City for over 50 years.
He attended Lincoln Memorial University and East Tennessee State College and had served as a lieutenant with the Army Air Corps during World War II.
In 1964, he opened Rolfe's Cafeteria, which he operated until his retirement in 1997. Prior to this, he was co-owner of Mullins Hardware for 18 years.
Mr. Mullins was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where he was a charter member of the Parish Council, Holy Name Society and St. Mary's School Board. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He had been a member of the
Johnson City Civitan Club and the Elks Lodge. During the 1970's, he served several years on the Advisory Board of Mountain Empire Bank.
Survivors include his wife, Lena Maggio Mullins; three sons, Rolfe A. Mullins and Michael G. Mullins, both of
Johnson City, and Tollie C. Mullins of Knoxville; three daughters, Carole Ann Strohm of
Johnson City, Barbara Rose Chitwood of Atlanta, and Revonne M. Gibson of Knoxville; three brothers, Bert Mullins of Abingdon, the Rev. Kelver Mullins of
Johnson City, and Dr. Darrell Mullins of Erwin, Tenn.; three sisters, Gerry Counts of
Johnson City, Anna Lee Stacker of Brentwood, Tenn., and Gail Bristow of Knoxville; 18 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
