James B. Crenshaw

James B. Crenshaw, 69, of 156 Robin Circle, Bristol, Va., died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, in Wellmont Hospice House.
He was born in Washington County, Va., and had lived most of his life in the Bristol area. He was a retired employee of Raytheon with 34 years of service and a member of North Bristol Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Lee Crenshaw; two sisters, Dorothy McNew of Baltimore and Virginia Moore of Abingdon; and three brothers, Charles Crenshaw of Knoxville, Frank Crenshaw of Tallahassee, Fla., and Fred Crenshaw of Edgewood, Md.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in North Bristol Baptist Church by Weaver Funeral Home. The Rev. Eric Godfrey will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Alan Moore. Burial will be at 12:30 p.m. in Mount Rose Cemetery in Glade Spring.
Pallbearers will be Arnold Glover, Grady Booher, W.C. Taylor Jr., Freddie Leonard, Bill Riggs, Wayne Rush and J.C. Hiler. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of North Bristol Baptist Church, members of the Fellowship Sunday School Class, Bill Goad, Sam Snavely, Johnny Humphrey and Roy DePriest.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday in Weaver Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Bristol Cancer Association, 126 Johnson St., Bristol, VA 24201, or Wellmont Hospice House, 280 Steele's Road, Bristol, TN 37620, or Bristol Heart Association, P.O. Box 544, Bristol, VA 24203-0544.

Alma Louise Emmert

Alma Louise Emmert, 72, of 1444 Vance Tank Road, Bristol, Tenn., died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was a lifelong resident of the Bristol area, a private nurse practioner for many years and retired from the Bristol Tennessee School System. She was of the Presbyterian faith.
Surviving are her husband, Dayton R. Emmert; a son, Ron Emmert of Bristol Virginia; a daughter, Mary Ellen Rutherford Hosey of Bristol Tennessee; two brothers, Dan Pendergrass of Bristol Tennessee and Henry Pendergrass of Sarasota, Fla.; three sisters, Ada Lynn Faulkner of Bluff City, Jesse Mae Shaffer of Orlando, Fla., and Wilma Gatton of Winter Garden, Fla.; a grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 6 p.m. in Weaver Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Bud Crusenberry and Dr. Ed Crook will officiate. Burial will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Glenwood Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gerald Gilbreath, Glen Booher, Randy Booth, Jimmy Rowland, Haskell Pendergrass and Larry Shaffer.
The family will receive friends after the funeral service Friday in Weaver Funeral Home.

Shawn W. Estep

NORTH TAZEWELL, Va. -- Shawn Wendell Jaminson Estep, 26, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, in a Bluefield, W.Va., hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born in Wise County, a son of Brenda Perrigan Estep and the late James Patrick Estep. He was a truck driver with L & J Trucking.
Surviving, besides his mother, are a brother, Chad Estep of Richlands; a sister, Jammie Honaker of Richlands; and five nephews.
A celebration of life service will be conducted Friday at 8 p.m. in Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff. Entombment will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in Greenhills Mausoleum at Claypool Hill.
Among survivors are his soul mate and fiancee, Nikki White; and nephews, A.J. Martin, Cory Martin, Jessee Martin, Jacob Estep and Joshua Estep.
Pallbearers will be Mark McCowan, Thomas McCowan, Michael Puckett, Todd Puckett, Chris Rose and Scoop Rose. Honorary pallbearers will be his five nephews.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday in Singleton Funeral Service.

Harriett Gregory

HONAKER -- Harriett Gregory, 88, of the New Garden Road section, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, in a Lebanon hospital.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Honaker Funeral Home.

Elizabeth Nell Grigsby

WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Elizabeth Nell Nichols Grigsby, 76, died Monday, Feb. 22, 2000.
She was born in Bluff City, Tenn., a daughter of the late William Preston Nichols and Nellie Green Nichols. She had lived in Wichita Falls since 1989, moving from Terrell. She was a member of Fairway Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Robert "Bob" Grigsby; a daughter, Vicki S. Rosenquist of Fort Wayne, Ind.; two sons, James W. Storey and Herbert Lee Storey, both of Maryville, Tenn.; a sister, Nancy N. Smith of Bluff City; a brother, Preston A. Nichols of Bluff City; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. in Akard Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Cass Farrior will officiate. Burial will be in Crumley Cemetery in Bluff City.
Among survivors are grandchildren, Aimee Elizabeth Rosenquist of Fort Wayne, Carrie Elizabeth Storey, Shannon Elizabeth Storey, Dawn Elizabeth Frazier, James Robert Storey amd Deana Storey, all of Maryville; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bob Smith, Ben Smith, Walt Rosenquist, Jay Frazier, Kevin Nichols and Robby Storey.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday in Akard Funeral Home.

Geneva F. Grubb

WYTHEVILLE -- Geneva Fielder Grubb, 67, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, at her home.
Surviving are a daughter, Rhonda G. Hall of Wytheville; a son, Terry N. Grubb of Dublin; two sisters, Betty Sewell of Clarksville, Ohio, and Verne Cline of Wytheville; three half-sisters, Ann Gambill and Ethel Perkins, both of Wytheville, and Cathleen Haulsee of Rocky Mount; six brothers, Don, Roger, Carl and Michael Fielder, all of Wytheville, David Fielder of North Carolina and Robert Fielder of Botetourt; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in Gillman Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday in Gillman Funeral Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Wythe County Rescue Squad.

Skye Hamilton

COEBURN -- Skye Victoria Donnell Hamilton, infant daughter of Ralph Vincent and Jennifer Helen Hayes Hamilton, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, in St. Mary's Hospital in Norton.
Surviving are four sisters, Amanda Beatty, Jessica Sigmon, Anna Hale and Delissa Hamilton, all of Coeburn; two brothers, Hunter McCowan and Mitchell McCowan, both of Coeburn; maternal grandparents, Norma and Burnis Meade of New Carlisle, Ohio; paternal grandmother, Donnell Hamilton; and maternal great-grandmother, Pauline Hayes of Coeburn.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. in Estes Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Leon Lawson will officiate. Burial will be in Hamilton Cemetery in Coeburn.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until funeral time Saturday in Estes Funeral Home.

Sylvia Ann Hurt

RICHLANDS - Funeral services for Sylvia Ann Hurt will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in Singleton Funeral Service Chapel in Cedar Bluff. Elders Delford Ward and Ben Combs will officiate. Burial will be in White Rose Cemetery at Drill.
Mrs. Hurt, 88, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, in a Richlands hospital.
Pallbearers will be John Fields, Robert Fields, Henry Adams, Jackie Brian Powers, Lloyd Dale, Mike Seale and Gene Brown.
Singleton Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Ivra E. Lester

DAVENPORT, Va. -- Ivra E. "Earn" Lester, 81, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, in Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon.
He was born in Buchanan County, a son of the late John and Gracie Boyd Lester. He was a retired miner from Island Creek Coal Co. and a member of UMWA Local 1374. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II and of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Adleen Hill Lester; three sons, Parker Lester of Woodbridge, Darrell Lester of Vansant and Dwayne Lester of Piedmont, S.C.; four daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Janet) Johnson of Acworth, Ga., Mrs. Garrett (Sue) Harris of Rowe, Mrs. Tom (Anita) Noviski of Woodbridge and Mrs. Craig (Holly) Barton of Honaker; a brother, Eurice Lester of Lebanon; a sister, Ella Mae Turner of Coeburn; three grandsons; and seven granddaughters.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in Haysi Funeral Home Chapel. Elders Elmer Brown and Garnell Gilbert will officiate. Burial will be in Ketron Memorial Cemetery in Lebanon with military graveside rites by American Legion Post 164 and VFW Post 7360.
Mr. Lester was also preceded in death by a son, Ival Lester.
Among survivors are daughters-in-law Jean Lester of Woodbridge, Debbie Lester of Vansant and Pam Lester of Piedmont; and a special friend and caretaker, Irene Hurt.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. Friday in the funeral home, where a service will be held at 7 p.m. The Revs. Roy Lee Wilson and Troy Harris will officiate.
Haysi Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Marjorie P. Lisle

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Marjorie Thomas Parker Lisle, 79, formerly of Laurel Bloomery, Tenn., died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, in Jacksonville.
She was a daughter of the late Stacy and Effie Norris Thomas and the widow of Robert Parker and David Lisle.
Surviving are a son, Tony Parker of Pueblo, Colo.; a brother, Stacy Thomas Jr. of Rockwood, Tenn.; two sisters, Betty Cunningham of Mountain City, Tenn., and Nancy South of Laurel Bloomery; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. in Pleasant Home Baptist Church in Laurel Bloomery by Percy-Hux Funeral Home in Mountain City. The Rev. David Cunningham will officiate. Burial will be in Acrefield Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday in the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Acrefield Cemetery Fund or Pleasant Home Baptist Church.
Percy-Hux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
