Ethel H. Wallace

CLEVELAND, Va. -- Funeral services for Ethel Hubble Wallace will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in Russell County Funeral Home Chapel in Lebanon. The Rev. James Massie will officiate. Burial will be in Russell Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Wallace, 89, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, in Russell County Medical Center.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Mike Wagoner, Jason Flora, David Wallace and Daniel Wallace and other family members, Stan Wagoner, Dave McGill, Ty Canipe and Dan Wallace.
Russell County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Lee Roy Whisman

MARION -- Funeral services for Lee Roy Whisman will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in Seaver- Brown Chapel.
The Rev. Mike Sage will officiate.
Mr. Whisman, 78, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000, in Orangeville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Orangeville, Pa.
He was a son of the late Marion and Virginia Whisman.
He was a former truck driver and managed a Texaco station for Hidlay Oil Co., retiring in 1983.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret Stout Tennesen Whisman of Berwick, Pa.; a stepdaughter, Patricia Polk of Berwick; a stepson, Russell Tennesen of Fort Myers, Fla.; a sister, Catherine Peake of Maryland; a brother, James Whisman of Marion; eight granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Among survivors is sister-in-law Pauline Whisman of Marion.
Seaver- Brown Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Nick V. Barb Sr.

Services for Nickolas V. Barb Sr. will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in Mountain View Mausoleum Chapel.
Mr. Barb, 90, of 6150 Yukon Drive, Bristol, Va., died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Travis Barb, Jason Barb, Clint Barb, Dan Crowe, Rick Guffey, Scott Van Hoy, Ron Hensley, Michael Milhorne and Eric Dolan. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Quillen, members of Upper Room Sunday School Class of Beech Grove Methodist Church, Bob Alvis, Ellis Mitchell, Ellis Worley, Doug Miller, John Kelsey, Ralph Dean, Dr. T.C. Greene, Dr. William Schermer, Dr. Michael Rowell, Dr. Fred Greear, Jack Blair, Nat Baker, Joe Lyons and Carl Welch.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Beech Grove United Methodist Church, 7149 Gate City Highway, Bristol, Va.
Weaver Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Brenda R. Bear

RURAL RETREAT, Va. -- Brenda R. Bear, 52, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, in Smyth County Community Hospital.
She was a daughter of Daisy Riggins of Pulaski and George Riggins of Newbern.
She was an employee of Smyth County Community Hospital.
Surviving, besides her parents, are her husband, Billy Bear; two daughters, Melissa Musser of Rural Retreat and Stephanie McCleese of Austin, Texas; two stepsons, Scott Bear and B.J. Bear, both of Rural Retreat; two sisters, Joyce Brown of Dublin and Linda Cox of Pulaski; and a grandson.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. in Seaver- Brown Chapel. The Revs. Eddie Beck and Neville Mozingo will officiate. Burial will be in Roseweood Memorial Gardens in Rural Retreat.
Among survivors are son-in-law Michael Musser of Rural Retreat; stepdaughter-in-law Anita Bear of Rural Retreat; and grandson Garrett Musser.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday in Seaver- Brown Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation, 5001 West Broad St., Suite 201, Richmond, VA 23230.

Clyde Bise

CLINTWOOD -- Funeral services for Clyde Bise will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in Peuther Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.
Minister Joe Glenn Sluss will officiate.
The body will be taken to the church an hour prior to services.
Burial will be in Bise Cemetery, Route 1, Clintwood.
Mr. Bise, 75, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, in Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center.
Pallbearers will be nephews and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Ayers Shortt, Arthur Mays, Ralph Stanley, Clarence Carty, Bob Cussins, Marshall Hughes, Bobby Stanley and Jerry Robinson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to a charity of choice.
Clintwood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Myrtle Cowden

NORTON -- Myrtle Jones Cowden, 68, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was of the Baptist faith, an executive secretary and the widow of Charles L. Cowden.
Surviving are a daughter, Violet Y. Turner of Seattle; a son, Charles E. Cowden of Newport News; a sister, Annette Sluss of Coeburn; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. in Hagy Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will be in Laurel Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Cowden was also preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Marie Cowden; and a son, Myron Lee Cowden.
Among survivors are brother-in-law Jack Sluss of Coeburn.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday in Hagy Funeral Home.

James B. Crenshaw

Funeral services for James B. Crenshaw will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in North Bristol Baptist Church by Weaver Funeral Home.
The Rev. Eric Godfrey will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Alan Moore.
Burial will be at 12:30 p.m. in Mount Rose Cemetery in Glade Spring.
Mr. Crenshaw, 69, of 156 Robin Circle, Bristol, Va., died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, in Wellmont Hospice House.
Pallbearers will be Arnold Glover, Grady Booher, W.C. Taylor Jr., Freddie Leonard, Bill Riggs, Wayne Rush and J.C. Hiler.
Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of North Bristol Baptist Church, members of the Fellowship Sunday School Class, Bill Goad, Sam Snavely, Johnny Humphrey and Roy DePriest.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Bristol Cancer Association, 126 Johnson St., Bristol, VA 24201, or Wellmont Hospice House, 280 Steele's Road, Bristol, TN 37620, or Bristol Heart Association, P.O. Box 544, Bristol, VA 24203-0544.

Peggy Joanne Dixon

PINEY FLATS -- Peggy Joanne Dixon, 59, of 277 Carlton Lane, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, in Johnson City Medical Center.
Surviving are a daughter, Sherrie Dixon of Piney Flats; a brother, Bobby Lee Roe Sr. of Bristol Virginia; a niece; and a nephew.
Mrs. Dixon donated her body to Quillen Dishner College of Medicine.
Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.

Graveside services for Alma Louise Emmert will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Glenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Emmert, 72, of 1444 Vance Tank Road, Bristol, Tenn., died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gerald Gilbreath, Glen Booher, Randy Booth, Jimmy Rowland, Haskell Pendergrass and Larry Shaffer.
