LEBANON -- Funeral services for Morley D.
Jones will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Bedford Funeral Chapel in Temperance, Mich. The Rev. John Paschen will officiate. Burial will be in Whiteford Union Cemetery.
Mr. Jones, 65, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999, at his home.
Pallbearers will be Ivan Meads, Don Newman, Steven Riggs, John Riggs, Michael
Jones and Wayne Hardesty.
The family will receive friends in Russell County Funeral Home in Lebanon from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Bedford Funeral Chapel in Temperance.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society, Russell County Chapter, Route 3, Box 23 B, Lebanon, VA 24266.

Addie V. Loyd
ABINGDON -- Funeral services for Addie V. Loyd will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in Temple Baptist Church by Farris Funeral Service. The Rev. John Wesley Price will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Loyd, 77, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999, in Johnston Memorial Hospital.
Pallbearers will be Dickie Jackson, Ron Meade, Dave Scott, Randy Felty, Kevin Price and Spike Nickels. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Fields and Lanny Osborne.
Farris Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Leo Mabe
Leo Mabe of Bristol Tennessee died Friday, Dec. 31, 1999, at his home.

Claude B. Moore
CASTLEWOOD -- Claude B. Moore, 89, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999, in Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center in Kingsport.
He was born in Russell County, a son of the late A.C. and Nellie
Johnson Moore. He was the widower of Vera Moore.
Surviving are two daughters, Sue Castle of Nickelsville and Mrs. Earl (Faye) McGlothlin of Afton; three sons, Jim Moore of Castlewood, Bob Moore of Nickelsville and Bill Moore of Inkster, Mich.; a sister, Oleen Gilenwater of Weber City; a brother, the Rev. Bruce Moore of Abingdon; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three step-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Arville Dingus will officiate. Burial will be in Temple Hill Memorial Park.
Mr. Moore was also preceded in death by a son, Henry Moore.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and family.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday in Castlewood Funeral Home.

Oliver Rose
CASTLEWOOD -- Oliver "Jr." Rose, 70, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999, in Russell County Medical Center in Lebanon.
He was born in Russell County, a son of the late Oliver and Ruby Rose. He attended Riverside Baptist Church and Dante Assembly of God.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Rose; a stepdaughter, Eva Aldridge of Huntsville, Ala; a stepson, Dwayne Aldridge of Huntsville; a brother, Preston Rose of St. Paul; five step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. in Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood. The Rev. John A. Kiser will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Larry Woods, Travis Woods, Dwayne Aldridge, Lee Hammons, Dennis Fraley, Robbie Rose, Jason Clark, Skipper Proffitt and Kevin Proffitt. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Woods, Anthony Woods, Mark Woods, Howard Woods and Bill Wampler.
Among survivors are several cousins.

Charles E. Sexton
MARION -- The Rev. Charles E. Sexton, 78, died Friday, Dec. 31, 1999, in Smyth County Community Hospital.
He was a retired United Methodist minister and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Lillian M. Sexton; two daughters, Katherine Garza of Fredericksburg, Va., and Jennifer Leggett of Suffolk, Va.; a son, Charles E. Sexton III of Willis, N.C.; a stepdaughter, Donna Vernon of Marion; a stepson, Darryl Murray of Roanoke; three brothers, L.D. Sexton of Pennington, Ky., Arlis Sexton of Harland, Ky., and K.D. Sexton of San Bernardino, Calif.; and 15 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. in Seaver-
Brown Chapel. Burial will be in Rose Lawn Cemetery.

Roy Allen Smith
ABINGDON -- Roy Allen Smith, 80, died Friday, Dec. 31, 1999, in Johnston Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Russell County, a son of the late Charlie A. and Maggie A. Combs Smith. He had lived in Buchanan County before moving to Abingdon in 1965. He was a member of Abingdon Baptist Church and a charter member of Vansant Baptist Church, serving in both churches as a deacon, president of the Brotherhood and other leadership positions. He was most recently deacon emeritus of Abingdon Baptist Church.
He was a retired game warden with the Virginia Game Commission for 31 years and a member of the Virginia Game Warden Association. He was a former member of Abingdon Civitan Club, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Panama Canal Zone and including Rhineland and the Battle of the Bulge.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia E. Compton Smith; a daughter, Renna S. Cook of Abingdon; five brothers, Kirby

Smith of Columbus, Ohio, and Charles

Smith and Ewald Smith.
Among survivors are grandchildren Nathan Cook of Charlottesville and Dr. Aaron Cook of Richmond; and son-in-law C. Allen Cook.
Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Abingdon Baptist Church, members of Harry Denton Sunday School Class and fellow State of Virginia game wardens.

James M. South
WISE -- James Martin South, 74, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999, in Norton Community Hospital.
He was a son of the late J.L. and Bertha Cassell South, a retired coal miner with Clinchfield Coal Co. with 45 years of service and a member of UMWA Local 8939. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and attended the Glamorgan Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Nemo Armstrong South; a son, David R. South; two daugthers, Theresa Mullins of Abingdon and Gail S. Metcalf of Charlottesville; two brothers, Donald South of Independence, Mo., and David South of Hopewell; eight sisters, Virginia Hansen of Little Falls, N.Y., Hazel Rich of Rockfield, Md., Billie Hansen of Pembroke Pines, Fla., Betty Cipollina of Mt. Dora, Fla., Mary Ann Henry of Roanoke, Kitty Neeley of Canton, Ill., Jean Caudill of Waverly and Carolyn Weinsteim of Highland Springs; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. in Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise. Pastor Gregory Sergent will officiate. Graveside services will be in Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood by United Mine Workers Local 2274.
Mr. South was also preceded in death by a brother, Jack South; and two sisters, Pat Weiderman and Kathleen South.
Among survivors are a daughter-in-law, Carolyn South; sons-in-law Randy Mullins of Abingdon and Dave Metcalf of Charlottesville; grandchildren Kevin Jones, Trish Underwood, Brian Jones, Randall Mullins, James Mullins and Nick Mullins; and great-grandchildren Kortney
Jones and Kody Jones.

Stella Bradley
RICHMOND -- Funeral services for Stella Bradley will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Huff-Cook Funeral Home Chapel in Castlewood. The Rev. Johnny Branch will officiate. Burial will be in Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood.
Mrs. Bradley, 87, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999.

Ruth V. Clark
ROANOKE -- Ruth Virginia Clark, 89, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999, in Community Hospital.
She was born in Stonega, Va., lived in Glade Spring for a number of years and in Roanoke for the past 40 years. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.
Surviving are four sons, Edgar L. Clark Jr. of San Diego, Fredrick D. Clark of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Robert J. Clark of Buffalo, N.Y. and Orville B. Clark of Baton Rouge, La.; four daughters, Mrs. John (Patricia) Hunt and Rebra Clark, both of Roanoke, Colette Clark of Durham, N.C., and Angela Pendleton of New York City; a sister, Ernestine James of Philadelphia; 25 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday in Roanoke.
