Mrs. Millwood, 78, a former resident of 205 Denton Valley Road, Bristol, Tenn., died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, in Holston Valley Medical Center.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Smith, Rick Hall, Jerry Shaver, Dexter Ramey, Tim Cabell and Billy Stevens.

COEBURN -- Mary Alice Salyers, 82, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000, in Bristol Regional Medical Cneter.
She was a lifelong resident of Coeburn, a retired seamstress and a member of Cherry Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Dry Fork.
She was the widow of Edward Lee Salyers.
Surviving are six sons, Willie Salyers, Donald Salyers, Richard Salyers and Danny Charles Salyers, all of Coeburn, George Salyers of Bluff City and Bobby Salyers of Palatka, Fla.; four daughters, Janice Hall of Bristol Virginia, Betty Christian of
Johnson City, Susie Childers of Hickory Grove, S.C., and Loretta Kennedy of Abingdon; two brothers, Harless Hall of Coeburn and Garney Hall of St. Paul; three sisters, Loreen Greer and Shirley Greer, both of Damascus, Va., and Kitty Sluss of Coeburn; 29 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Estes Funeral Home Chapel. The Revs. Willie Salyers and George Salyers will officiate. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery in Bristol Virginia.
Among survivors is a dear friend, Howard Griffith of Kingsport.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Monday in Estes Funeral Home.

BLOUNTVILLE -- Graveside services for Clint A. Slagle will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in Sunrise Cemetery in Bluff City by Akard Funeral Home of Bristol, Tenn. The Rev. Vernon Trivett will officiate.
Mr. Slagle died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2000, in Greystone Health Care Center in Blountville.
There will be no viewing or visitation in Akard Funeral Home.
Arthur S. Smith
KINGSPORT -- A memorial service for Arthur Sneller
Smith will be conducted Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, at 10 a.m. in St. Dominic's Catholic Church in Kingsport.
Mr.
Smith died Monday, Dec. 20, 1999.
He was born in White Springs, Fla., and graduated from the University of Florida.
He served as lieutenant in the U.S. Navy and was employed as a chemical engineer with Tennessee Eastman Co. from 1945 until his retirement in 1976.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Elizabeth Smith; two sisters, Marjorie
Smith Fiske and Sally Mae
Smith Sirmans; and three nephews.
Among survivors are nephews Barry Fiske, Darrell Fiske and Gregory Fiske.
Mr. Smith, a champion of the environment, dedicated the last 23 years of his life to furthering environmental progress.

Pauline Jessee Smith, 85, of Bristol Virginia, formerly of Leisure Park Towers, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000, in NHC Health Care Center.
She was a lifelong resident of Bristol, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul S. Hilliard. She was a retired employee from Fashion Shop of Bristol with over 20 years of service, a member of Virginia High School Band Booster Club and a charter member of Antioch Baptist Church in Bristol, Va.
She was the widow of Clifton "Jack" Jessee and David H. Smith.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Lou Thomas of Milford, Va.; three sons, Harold Jessee of Jacksonville, Fla., Jack Jessee of Bellebrook, Ohio and Paul "Goose" Jessee of Bristol Tennessee; two sisters, Mrs. Wade (Dot) Brooks and Mrs. Wanda Kimberlin, both of Bristol Virginia; two brothers, Elmer A. Hilliard of Mechanicsville, Va., and Richard J. Hilliard of Cleveland, Tenn.; five granddaughters; five grandsons; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Akard Funeral Home Chapel, Bristol, Va. Drs. Austin Cook and Howard Robinson, pastor Brad Davis and Rayton Puckett will officiate. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Mrs.
Smith was preceded in death by a brother, James E. Hilliard; and a sister, Vena H. Roberts.
She was a member of the Virginia High School Band Booster Club (Big Orange Band) in the late '50s and early '60s and was affectionately known as "Maw Jessee."
Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.

Brandon Thomas Steffey, 11, of 1428 East State St. Extension, Bristol, Tenn., died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, in
Johnson City Medical Center.
He lived in Baltimore before moving to Bristol five months ago and was a son of Adrian "Russ" Ralston of Baltimore and Edna Steffey Clevenger of Bristol Tennessee. He was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving, besides his parents, are two sisters, Amanda Lee Clevenger of Bristol Tennessee and Randi Lynne Clevenger of Baltimore; and maternal grandmother, Addie Garlitz of Baltimore.
Among survivors are several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers will be James Harper Jr., Dennis White, Jeff Rodefer, David Blake, Glen Woods and Johnathan Stanley. Honorary pallbearer will be Tyler Proffit Harper.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Weaver Funeral Home.

Mrs. Todd, 74, of Brookwood Road, Bristol Tennessee, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, in Wellmont Hospice House.

Bertha Ann Baker
PORTSMOUTH, Va. -- Bertha Ann Baker, 81, formerly of Pound, Va., died Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, in Portsmouth.
She was a daughter of the late Pete Countiss and Cora Swindall Countiss. She was of the Old Regular Baptist faith and the widow of David C. Baker.
Surviving are two sons, William C. Baker of Chesapeake, Va., and Larry N. Baker of Gig Harbor, Wash.; a sister, Opal Cruise of Pound; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 10 a.m. in Sadie Baker Memorial Chapel of Baker Funeral Home. Elder Trinkle Mullins will officiate. Burial will be in Baker Cemetery in Pound.
Mrs. Baker was also preceded in death by a daughter, Regina Ann Baker.
