Lela R. Lilley

Funeral services for Lela Rankin Lilley will be conducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Akard Funeral Home Chapel. Gary Knapp and Andrew Gill, ministers, will officiate. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Lilley, 69, of Bristol Tennessee, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
Pallbearers will be Luther Large, Johnny Hensley, John Davis, Jim Blevins, Paul Young and Tom Vaughan.
Memorial contributions may be sent to West Hills Christian Church Building Fund, 116 Elm St., Bristol, TN 37620.
Akard Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Edna M. Maiden

SALTVILLE -- Edna Mae Maiden, 86, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, in Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon.
She was a member of Madam Russell Methodist Church and the widow of Clarence Maiden.
Surviving are two daughters, Bernita Taylor of Saltville and Lisa Heath of Chilhowie; three brothers, Ray Osborne of Coeburn, Ernest Osborne of Bristol Virginia and Calvin Harrison of Bristol Tennessee; three sisters, Bertha Clark of Glade Spring, Janie McCray of Newton, N.C., and Linda Ikerd of Maiden, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in D.R. Henderson Funeral Home. The Rev. Scott Robertson-Gouge will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery.
Mrs. Maiden was also preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Clark.
Among survivors is a special niece, Marie Elliott of West Jefferson, N.C.
Pallbearers will be David Taylor, Mike Maiden, Kirk Maiden, Douglas Heath, Aaron Heath and Adam Heath.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday in D.R. Henderson Funeral Home.

Leonard Reed Martin

LEBANON -- Leonard Reed Martin, 72, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000, in Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center in Kingsport.
He was born in Dickenson County and had lived in Lebanon for the past seven years. He was a retired miner and of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife, Juanita Wilma Martin; three daughters, Diane Knuckles of Tennessee, Colleen Martin of Melvindale, Mich., and Stephanie Ferguson Martin of Lebanon; a son, Ricky Martin of Lebanon; three sisters, Helen Holfield of St. Paul, and Shelby Jean Martin and Rita Bush, both of Lebanon; three brothers, Gearld Martin of Castlewood, and Mack Martin and M.C. Cooper, both of Stoney Creek, Mich.; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Leonard Ferguson will officiate. Burial will be in Temple Hill Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Castle, Joel Castle, Dwayne Willis, Eddie Willis, Greg Holfield and Brian Green.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Castlewood Funeral Home.

James E. Messick

RAVEN, Va. -- Funeral services for James E. Messick will be conducted Tuesday at 3 p.m. in Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands. The Revs. Jessie Miller and Eddie Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Va.
Mr. Messick, 58, of the Fork Ridge section, died Saturday, Jan, 8, 2000, in a Richlands hospital.
Pallbearers will be Danny Smith, Bobby Winchester, Travis Absher, Eddie Hess, Joe Absher, Danny Horton, Carlos Matney and Robert Rose. Honorary pallbearers will be Al Horton, Nathaniel Smith and Alfred Whited.
Hurst-Scott Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Samuel A. Minervino

Samuel Anthony Minervino, 81, formerly of Medina, N.Y., died Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, in Ivy Hall Nursing Home.
He was born in Oakfield, N.Y., a son of the late Louis and Grace Delasandro Minervino. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a Catholic, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the widower of Dorothy Minervino.
Surviving are two daughters, Marcia Torbett of Piney Flats and Janet Keesee of Yorktown, Va.; a brother, Louis Minervino of Medina; four sisters, Lucy Getile and Rose Quarcini, both of Lockport, N.Y., Joyce Bloom of Medina and Mary Sargent of Orlando, Fla.; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 8 p.m. in the Bluff City Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home. Dr. Andrew Spence will officiate. Graveside services will be Friday at 1 p.m. in New Bethel Cemetery in Piney Flats. Those attending the graveside services should meet at the cemetery at 12:50 p.m.
Among survivors are grandchildren Richie Torbett of Nashville, Paige Torbett of Piney Flats and Kim Keesee of Yorktown; and great-grandchild McKayla Torbett of Piney Flats.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home in Bluff City.

Franklin D. Nunley

LEBANON -- Franklin D. "Frank" Nunley, 66, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000, in Russell County Medical Center.
He was a lifelong resident of Russell County and a son of Lucille Kiser Nunley of Lebanon and the late Sherman Nunley. He was a farmer and retired employee of Russell County School Board. He attended Maple Grove Community Church.
Surviving, besides his mother, are his wife, Barbara Jean Nunley; a daughter, Susie Nunley Kiser of Castlewood; two sons, Frank D. Nunley Jr. and Mark Nunley, both of Lebanon; three brothers, Marvin Nunley of Georgia, Bill Nunley of Pennington Gap, Va., and Henry Nunley of Lebanon; amd two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Russell County Funeral Home Chapel. The Revs. Shelton Norris and Bill Snead will officiate. Burial will be in Ketron Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Nunley was also preceded in death by a son, Matt Nunley.
Among survivors are grandchildren Anthony Cruise Nunley and Jacob Kiser.
Pallbearers will be Douglas Dotson, D.L. Dotson, Cameron Gibson, Steve Crabtree, Clovis Adams and Phillip Dotson. Honorary pallbearers will be co-workers from Russell County Vocational School.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Russell County Funeral Home.

Arthur S. Smith

KINGSPORT -- A memorial service for Arthur Sneller Smith will be conducted Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, at 10 a.m. in St. Dominic's Catholic Church in Kingsport.
Mr. Smith died Monday, Dec. 20, 1999.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Cherokee Forest Voices, Arthur Smith Memorial Fund, c//o Dean Whitworth, Treasurer, 698 Carfie Bunton Lane, Butler, TN 37640.
Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pauline J. Smith

Funeral services for Pauline Jessee Smith will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Akard Funeral Home Chapel. Drs. Austin Cook and Howard Robinson, pastor Brad Davis and Rayton Puckett will officiate. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery
Mrs. Smith, 85, of Bristol Virginia, formerly of Leisure Park Towers, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000, in NHC Health Care Center.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.
Akard Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Brandon Thomas Steffey

Funeral services for Brandon Thomas Steffey will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Weaver Funeral Home Chapel. The Revs. Dennis Burnette and Rick Light will officiate. Burial will be in Tri-Cities Memory Gardens.
Brandon Thomas Steffey, 11, of 1428 East State St. Extension, Bristol, Tenn., died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, in Johnson City Medical Center.
Pallbearers will be James Harper Jr., Dennis White, Jeff Rodefer, David Blake, Glen Woods and Johnathan Stanley. Honorary pallbearer will be Tyler Proffit Harper.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Weaver Funeral Home.

Adora Grae Stout

Funeral services for Adora Grae Stout will be conducted Wednesday at 8 p.m. in Weaver Funeral Home Chapel. The Revs. Larrie Pike and Elmer "Sonny" Beaver will officiate. Graveside services will be Thursday at 3:30 p.m. in Mountain View Cemetery.
Miss Stout, 17, of Bristol Tennessee, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000, in Johnson City Medical Center.
She was a lifelong resident of the Bristol area and a daughter of James D. Stout Jr. of Bristol Tennessee and Brenda Ellen Green of Bristol Tennessee. She was a student and of the Baptist faith.
Surviving, besides her parents, are her stepfather, Donald James Green of Bristol Tennessee; her stepmother, Kendra Hope Stout of Bristol Tennessee; a brother, Jeff Clark of Bristol Tennessee; two sisters, Shannon Arnold and Alyssa Green, both of Bristol Tennessee; maternal grandfather Joel Cantoy Anito of Phillipine Islands; maternal grandmother Norene Priode of Norton; and paternal grandmother Doris L. Stout of Bristol Virginia.
Among survivors are several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers will be David Stout, Billy Hilliard, Jeremiah Stout, Tom Anito, Bruce Green and Earl W. Blaylock. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Green and James Hopkins.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday before the chapel services in the funeral home or any time at the home of paternal grandmother Doris Stout, 613 Dixie St., Bristol, Va.
Weaver Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
