Leonard Reed Martin
LEBANON -- Funeral services for Leonard Reed Martin will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Leonard Ferguson will officiate. Burial will be in Temple Hill Memorial Park.
Mr. Martin, 72, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000, in Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Castle, Joel Castle, Dwayne Willis, Eddie Willis, Greg Holfield and Brian Green.

John H. McCurdy
John H. "Johnny" McCurdy, 56, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, in the James H. Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
He was a graduate of Slater High School, where was known as "Jumping Johnny" for his excellence in football. He was of the Baptist faith and a veteran of the Vietname War.
Surviving are two sisters, Elaine D.
Foster of Bristol Tennessee and Luvenia Moffette of Charlotte, N.C.; and several nephews and nieces.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in the National Cemetery in Mountain Home, Tenn., by Robinson Mortuary of Bristol Virginia. The Rev. Dr. W.A.
Johnson will officiate. military honors will be by DAV Chapter 40. A procession will leave the funeral home at 10 a.m. Friday for the services.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday in Robinson Mortuary.
Charlie Joseph Mobley
BLOUNTVILLE -- Charlie Joseph "Joe" Mobley, 83, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was the youngest of 12 children of the late W.H. and Margaret Faulkner Mobley. He retired from Burlington Industries after 33 years of service and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving with the 1st U.S. Infantry Division. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Blountville and the Senior Men's Class.
Surviving are his wife of 59 1//2 years, Ruby
Johnson Mobley; two daughters, Mrs. Bill (Becky) Hughes and Mrs. Joe (Linda) Davenport, both of Blountville; and five grandchildren, Kevin Hughes, Kristie Hughes, Mark Davenport, Leigh Ann Davenport and Tim Davenport.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 8 p.m. in First Baptist Church in Blountville by Akard Funeral Home of Bristol. Pastor Clay Austin will officiate. Graveside services will be Thursday at 3:30 p.m. in Glenwood Cemetery in Bristol.
Among survivors is granddaughter-in-law Cathy Davenport.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday before the service in the church.

Charles D. Morrell
Charles Douglas Morrell, 48, of Bristol Tennessee died Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was a lifelong resident of Bristol and a son of Paul and Mabel Morrell. He was a member of Riverbend Baptist Church.
Surviving, besides his parents, are two sisters, Vickie Welch and Cindy Epperson, both of Bristol Tennessee; three brothers, Dale Morrell of Elizabethton, and Phil Morrell and Tony Morrell, both of Bristol Tennessee; and maternal grandmother Frances Hayes of Bluff City.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 4 p.m. in Shipley Cemetery by Weaver Funeral Home. The Revs. Niles Kitzmiller and Gary Rowlette will officiate.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Booher, Kenny Morrell, Danny Morrell, Randy Morrell, Don Morrell, Chris Trivette, Bill Pierce, Mike Morrell and Mike Welch.

Franklin D. Nunley
LEBANON -- Funeral services for Franklin D. "Frank" Nunley will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Russell County Funeral Home Chapel. The Revs. Shelton Norris and Bill Snead will officiate. Burial will be in Ketron Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Nunley, 66, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000, in Russell County Medical Center.
Pallbearers will be Douglas Dotson, D.L. Dotson, Cameron Gibson, Steve Crabtree, Clovis Adams and Phillip Dotson. Honorary pallbearers will be co-workers from Russell County Vocational School.

Sara Ellen Peitsch
ABINGDON -- Sara Ellen Peitsch, 81, died Friday, Dec. 10, 1999, in Johnston Memorial Hospital.
She was a former school teacher in Pennsylvania before moving to Abingdon. She was employed by Barter Inn and Barter Theater.
Surviving are special friends Ruth Phillips, Darrell Sullins, Emma and Larry Taylor.

Hobert L. Phipps
ANTELOPE, Calif. -- Hobert L. Phipps, 69, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000.
He was born in Bristol Tennessee.
Surviving are a son, Lee Phipps Jr. of Antelope; two sisters, Phyllis Phipps and Charlotte Hicks, both of Bristol Tennessee; and a brother, Cleveland "Hank" Phipps of Bristol Tennessee.
Services will be held in Antelope.

Zack Lee South Jr.
POUND -- Zack Lee South Jr., 76, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, in Norton Community Hospital.
He was owner and operator of Jeff Coal Co., a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and of the Protestant faith.
Surviving are his wife, Catherine Vanover South; two sons, Jonathan South and Jeffrey South, both of Pound; two daughters, Cathy South of Wise and Jennifer South of Pound; a brother, James South of Clintwood; two sisters, Elva Jaynes and Eula Phipps of
Johnson City; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. in Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise. The Rev. Warren Wattenbarger will officiate. Burial will be in Jim Lundy Hollow Cemetery in Pound.
Among survivors are daughter-in-law Dea South of Pound; and grandchildren Justin South, Alicen South and Marlee South.
The family will receive friends from noon until time of service at 2 p.m. in Sturgill Funeral Home.
