DORAN, Va. -- Funeral services for Glen A. Gilbert will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Singleton Funeral Service Chapel in Cedar Bluff. The Rev. Stafford Compton will officiate. Burial will be in Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill.
Mr. Gilbert, 87, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000, in a Richlands hospital.
Pallbearers will be Craig Tuggle, Jim Boyd, Charles Fortner, Brad Robinson, Jim Cassell and Gene Cox.
Singleton Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Mary Cornelia Gragg

BLUFF CITY -- Graveside services for Mary Cornelia Gragg will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Shipley Cemetery by Weaver Funeral Home of Bristol. The Revs. Howard Campbell and Martin Freeland will officiate.
Ms. Gragg, 78, of 294 Buffalo Road, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000, in Bristol Nursing Home.
Weaver Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

William Harris Sr.

William Harris Sr., 77, of 308 McDowell St., Bristol, Tenn., died Monday, Jan. 23, 2000, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Robinson Mortuary of Bristol, Va.

Gary Lynn Hatcher

Graveside services for Gary Lynn Hatcher will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Glenwood Cemetery.
Mr. Hatcher, 53, of 1019 Pennsylvania Ave., Bristol, Tenn., died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000, at his home.
Weaver Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Paul J. Healy

Paul J. Healy of Bristol Tennessee died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Weaver Funeral Home.

Mary E. Jackson

Funeral services for Mary Evelyn Jackson will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Farris Funeral Chapel in Abingdon. The Rev. Dennis Burnette will officiate. Burial will be in Greenfield Baptist Cemetery.
Ms. Jackson, 69, of 105 Chestnut St., Bristol, Tenn., died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000, in Wellmont Hospice House in Bristol.
Pallbearers will be Chuck Stipes, Fred Roberts, Richard Russell, Steve Worley, Darrell Smith, Jeff Worley and Jody Jackson.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home and after the service Wednesday at the home of Jeff Scott, 871 Wolf Creek Trail, Abingdon.
Farris Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy S. Jones

BRANDON, Fla. -- Funeral services for Dorothy Shell "Dot" Jones will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Oakley-Cook Funeral Home. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Jones, 83, a native of Bristol Tennessee, died Friday, Jan 21, 2000, in Brandon.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Clearwater and attended Pasadena Baptist Church in St. Petersburg, Fla.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Oakley-Cook Funeral Home.

Lawrence E. Larkey

KINGSPORT -- Lawrence E. Larkey, 85, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, in Brookhaven Health Care Center.
He was born in Scott County, Va., a son of the late Hiram and Ida Vermillion Larkey, and grew up in the Maces Springs area.
He graduated from Hiltons High School and attended Bluefield College. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in North Borneo. He was a life member of the American Legion Hammond Post 3 and Charles DeWitt Byrd Post 3382 of the VFW. He was a charter member of the Kingsport Moose Lodge 972.
Mr. Larkey was a former employee of Dominion National Bank of Bristol Virginia. After moving to Kingsport, he was employed with the U.S. Postal Service for more than 30 years. He was a former member of Ketron Memorial United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Dana Poston Larkey; a son, Lawrence Alan Larkey of Orlando, Fla.; a sister, Stella Wells of Columbia, S.C.; two granddaughters, Lynn Paige Larkey of Birmingham, Ala., and Leah Beth Nuzzi of Japan; a grandson, Landon Greer Larkey of Orlando; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Joe W. Byrd will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery with military graveside rites by American Legion Hammond Post 3.
Mr. Larkey was also preceded in death by three brothers, Clyde Larkey, David Larkey and Charlie Larkey; and two sisters, Hazel Barker and Gladys Starnes.
Mr. Larkey loved books and has written many poems that have been published.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, downtown.

Barbara G. McClellan

Barbara Phyllis Grace McClellan, 65, of Bristol Virginia, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000.
She was born in Kingsport, a daughter of the late Henry Grace Sr. and Cuba Hart Grace. She graduated from Bluff City High School, served as an executive secretary for area businesses and later was a homemaker.
She formerly participated in the Girl Scouts and coached recreational basketball. She was a member of State Street United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband of 44 years, Paul S. McClellan Sr.; three daughters, Mrs. Alan (Tamara) Ottiger of Blountville, Mrs. Steve (Melinda) Hobbs of Bluff City and Mrs. Webster (Donna) Gilley Sr. of Bristol Tennessee; a son, Paul S. McClellan Jr. of Conover, N.C.; a brother, Henry L. Grace Jr. of Bristol Tennessee; a sister, Betty G. Royston of Bristol Tennessee; and 10 grandchidlren.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Akard Funeral Home Chapel in Bristol Tennessee. The Rev. Fred Dearing will officiate. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. McClellan was also preceded in death by a sister, Margaret G. Taylor.
Among survivors are grandchildren, Heather and Andrea Ottinger, Lauren and Steven Hobbs Jr., Bradley, Wesley, James, Jordan and Nathanael McClellan and Webster Gilley Jr.; daughter-in-law, Leslie H. McClellan; and sons-in-law Webster Gilley Sr., Alan Ottinger and Steve Hobbs Sr.
Mrs. McClellan was an avid golfer, bowler and bridge player.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday prior to the funeral service in Akard Funeral Home.

Laura Thelma Minton

ST. PAUL, Va. -- Funeral services for Laura Thelma Minton will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel. The Revs. Jeff Bush and Herbert Scott will officiate. Burial will be in Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood.
Mrs. Minton, 86, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, in Russell County Medical Center in Lebanon.
Pallbearers will be Bill Bradley, Jimmy Jessee, David Jones, Todd Greear, David Rudder and Larry Joe Minton.
Castlewood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

James Mutter Sr.

SALTVILLE -- Funeral services for James "Jim" Mutter Sr. will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Seaver- Brown Chapel in Marion. The Rev. Steve Hutton will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Community Cemetery in Ceres.
Mr. Mutter, 65, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, in Smyth County Community Hospital.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Dean Mutter; a daughter, Janet Lee Hess of Chilhowie; three sons, James A. Mutter Jr., Ricky Dean Mutter and Freeman Lee Mutter, all of Saltville; five sisters, Marie Hall, Patricia Raines and Elizabeth Finch, all of Bristol Virginia, Rosemary Smithson of Bluff City and Birdie Ratliff of Chilhowie; four brothers, William Mutter of Bristol Virginia, George Mutter and Frank Mutter, both of Abingdon, and Joseph Mutter of Valdosta, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Among survivors are his former wife, Cora Lee Cregger of Saltville.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Seaver- Brown Chapel.
