Barbara G. McClellan

Funeral services for Barbara Phyllis Grace McClellan will be conducted Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Akard Funeral Home Chapel in Bristol Tennessee. The Rev. Fred Dearing will officiate. Burial will be Glenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. McClellan, 65, of Bristol Virginia, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000.
She was born in Kingsport, a daughter of the late Henry Grace Sr. and Cuba Hart Grace. She graduated from Bluff City High School, served as an executive secretary for area businesses and later was a homemaker.
She formerly participated in the Girl Scouts and coached recreational basketball. She was a member of State Street United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband of 44 years, Paul S. McClellan Sr.; three daughters, Mrs. Alan (Tamara) Ottinger of Blountville, Mrs. Steve (Melinda) Hobbs of Bluff City and Mrs. Webster (Donna) Gilley Sr. of Bristol Tennessee; a son, Paul S. McClellan Jr. of Conover, N.C.; a brother, Henry L. Grace Jr. of Bristol Tennessee; a sister, Betty G. Royston of Bristol Tennessee; and 10 grandchidlren.
Mrs. McClellan was also preceded in death by a sister, Mar-garet G. Taylor.
Among survivors are grandchildren Heather and Andrea Ottinger, Lauren and Steven Hobbs Jr., Bradley, Wesley, James, Jordan and Nathanael McClellan and Webster Gilley Jr.; daughter-in-law Leslie H. McClellan; and sons-in-law Webster Gilley Sr., Alan Ottinger and Steve Hobbs Sr.
Mrs. McClellan was an avid golfer, bowler and bridge player.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday before the funeral service in Akard Funeral Home.

Naomi D. O'Dell

Graveside services for Naomi D. O'Dell will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Susong Cemetery.
Mrs. O'Dell, 92, of 621 Vance St., Bristol, Va., died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, in Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons.
Weaver Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Juanita G. Ramey

GRUNDY -- Juanita Gilbert Ramey, 73, of the Slate Creek area, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, in Buchanan General Hospital.
She was born in Buchanan County, a daughter of the late Dink and Esther White Gilbert. She had lived in Buchanan County several years and was a member of Fountain of Life Tabernacle in Vansant.
Surviving are her husband, Paul Ramey; a daughter, Joyce Ann Gilbert of Hickory, N.C.; three sisters, Avenell White of Richlands, Margaret Brozak of Gallipolis, Ohio, and Betty Jo Matney of Vansant; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in Fountain of Life Tabernacle in Vansant by Grundy Funeral Home. Ronnie Hodge and the Revs. Ancil Childress and Tim Ward will officiate. Burial will be in Gilbert Cemetery in Whitewood.
Mrs. Ramey was also preceded in death by two sisters, Jenny White and Eula Grace Hodge; and two brothers, Arthur and John Milford Gilbert.
She was a devoted wife, loving mother and a homemaker.
Pallbearers will be nephews and friends.
Friends may call at 5 p.m. Wednesday in the church, where services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday.
Grundy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pinkie J. Robinson

SOUTH POINT, Ohio -- Graveside services for Pinkie Jane Robinson will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Claypool Hill, Va., by Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands. Elders Tom Shifflett and Keith Matney will officiate.
Mrs. Robinson, 90, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, in an Ohio nursing home.
The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum before the 2 p.m. service.
Hurst-Scott Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pearl Snowden

Pearl Snowden, 89, of Sunbridge Hillside Nursing Home, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Weaver Funeral Home.

Lona M. Stiltner

ABINGDON -- Lona Marie Stiltner, 79, formerly of Honaker, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, in Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon.
She was born in Russell County, a daughter of the late Charlie and Dora Rachel Ellen Dye. She spent her early life in the Swords Creek and Honaker areas and had lived in Abingdon for the past five years. She attended Valley View Free Will Baptist Church in Honaker and was the widow of James Howard Stiltner.
Surviving are two daughters, Ann Miller of Bristol Tennessee and Brenda Hess of Honaker; two sisters, Elizabeth Brown and Exie Hale, both of Swords Creek; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. in Honaker Funeral Home Chapel. The Revs. Ancil Childress and Harless Hess will officiate. Burial will be in Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill.
Mrs. Stiltner was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers will be David Eaton, Jerry Dye, Tivis Brown, Danny Dye, Dolphas Dye, Rafty Dye, Stanley Brown, Jim Eaton, Tim Shortt and Ronnie Dye.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. Wednesday in Honaker Funeral Home.

Elizabeth Kate Taylor

ABINGDON -- Elizabeth Kate Taylor, 97, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, in Grace Health Care Center in Abingdon.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by D.R. Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville, Va.

Monroe B. Thrower Sr.

NORTON -- Funeral services for Monroe B. Thrower Sr. will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Norton Presbyterian Church by Hagy Funeral Home. Dr. Miller Liston will officiate. Burial will be in Powell Valley Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Thrower, 81, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, in Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon.
Hagy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Void Whited

NORTON -- Void Whited, 77, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, in St. Mary's Hospital in Norton.
He was a retired painter and of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are three sisters, Hazel Richardson of Portsmouth, Mildred Couch of Coeburn and Anna Mitchell of Marion; a brother, Henry Whited of Maryland; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. in Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Coeburn. The Rev. Darrell Bolling will officiate. Burial will be in Little Tom Cemetery in Coeburn.
The family will receive friends from noon until time of service Thursday in Sturgill Funeral Home.

Drue R. Wilson

Drue R. Wilson, 88, of 125 Tyler Drive, Bristol, Tenn., died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, in Indian Path Medical Center in Kingsport.
She was born in Columbia, S.C., a daughter of the late Ethriam Harrison and Mae Hyden McMecking Roberts. She had lived in Johnson County before moving to Bristol several years ago and was the widow of Ernest E. Wilson. She was a retired school teacher in Johnson County and Sullivan County School systems, a member of the Retired Teachers Association and a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Teachers Organization. She was a member of First Christian Church in Mountain City.
Surviving are two daughters, June Jenkins of Asheville, N.C., and Jean Bower of Johnson City; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Percy-Hux Funeral Home in Mountain City. The Rev. Anthony Pleasant will officiate. Music will be by Fred Ramsey. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Max Wilson, Jack Greer, Malcom Howard, David Bower, Jeremy Shipman, Steve Loonar and Don Quilliams. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Muse, Bobby Dowdy and Buford Mullins.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel or any time at the home of Jean Bower, 169 Harbin Hill Road, Mountain City or 1511 Baxter St., Johnson City.
Percy-Hux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Masal Fry Barbour

Masal Fry Barbour, 92, of 1 Liberty Place, Bristol, Va., died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Carthage, N.C., a daughter of the late Robert G. and Grace Kennedy Fry, and lived there all her life until moving to Bristol three years ago.
She was a graduate of East Carolina University, a teacher in the Moore County, N.C., school system for 35 years and the widow of Earl G. Barbour Sr.
She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Carthage and a member of First Baptist Church in Bristol since moving here.
Surviving are a son, Earl G. Barbour of Bristol; a sister, Louise Fry Carter of Carthage; a grandson, Eric S. Barbour of Asheville, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in First Baptist Church in Bristol Virginia. Dr. W. Rand Forder will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church. Burial will be in Cross Hill Cemetery in Carthage.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to First Baptist Church of Bristol or First Baptist Church of Carthage.
Oakley-Cook Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Catherine M. Barker

A small family graveside service for Catherine McKinney Barker will be conducted Saturday following visitation from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. in Glenwood Mausoleum Cemetery Chapel.
Miss Barker, 72, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was a lifelong resident of Bristol and a daughter of the late Catherine McKinney Barker and Henry Nevils Barker. She attended Dana Hall prep school in Wellsley, Mass., and Tennessee High School. She studied language and dance at the University of Madrid and graduated from Sweet Briar College in Virginia in 1950. After graduation from college, she lived and worked briefly in New York City.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Bristol, where she was a member of the church choir. She was a long-time member of Bristol County Club and most recently was active in the Bristol Historical Society.
Surviving are her brother, Henry McKinney Barker Sr. of Knoxville; two nieces; a nephew; a great-niece; and a great-nephew.
Among survivors are niece and goddaughter, Margaret Ackerson Barker of Freeville, N.Y. and Mary "Molly" Nevils Richardson of Athens, Greece; nephew, Henry McKinney Barker Jr. of Knoxville; great-niece, Elizabeth Barker of Knoxville; great-nephews, Kane and Patrick Barker, both of Knoxville; and several cousins including, Ellen McKinney Zink of Colorado Springs, Colo.
Akard Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
