Willis J. Boshell

CEDAR BLUFF -- Graveside services for Willis J. "Bill" Boshell will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. in Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum in Beckley, W.Va., by Hurst-Scott Funeral Home of Richlands.
The Rev. Coy Richardson will officiate.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley.
Mr. Boshell, 74, formerly of Kopperston, W.Va., died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at his home.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society for Research, P.O. Box 554, Roanoke, VA 24003.
Hurst-Scott Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Franklin J. Cagle Sr.

MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich. -- Franklin James Cagle Sr., 87, formerly of Bristol Tennessee, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, in Cambridge East Nursing Home in Madison Heights.
He was born and grew up in Bristol Tennessee, where delivered groceries for Woodlawn Avenue Grocery Store, was a newspaper carrier and, as an adult, was employed as a mechanic and driver for Hecht's Bakery and Kerns Bakery.
He moved to Michigan in 1940, helped to establish the incorporation of the city of Madison Heights and was honored as the longest serving city official in that city as an elected constable.
He was also an Oakland County Deputy Sheriff and later a court officer for the 43rd District Court in Madison Heights.
He was the first person appointed to Madison Heights Historical Commission where he remained as member emeritus.
He was a charter member of the Businessman's Association, Lions Club, Kiwanis Club, Rotary Club and a member of FOP Lodge 130.
He was the widower of Gladys Kistner Cagle.
Surviving are five sons, Charles Cagle of Moore, S.C., Richard Cagle of Spartanburg, S.C., Howard Cagle of Ferndale, Mich., Joseph Cagle of Southfield, Mich., and Donald Cagle of Oxford, Mich.; three daughters, Mrs. Ernest (Jean) Schomer, Mrs. George (DiAnne) Cagle-Leitermann and Mrs. Daniel (Linda) Bryant, all of Madison Heights; a sister, Hazel Cagle of Bristol; 32 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday in Edward Swanson and Son Funeral Home in Madison Heights.
The Rev. Tim Kade of Faith Lutheran Church will officiate.
Burial will be in White Chapel Cemetery in Troy, Mich.
Mr. Cagle was also preceded in death by two sons, Frank J. Cagle Jr. and Harold Cagle; and two brothers, Cecil Cagle and John Cagle.
Among survivors are daughters-in-law, Dorothy Cagle of Spartanburg, Patricia Cagle of Ferndale, Michelle Cagle of Southfield and Patricia Cagle of Oxford.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the Parkinson's Foundation of Michigan.
Edward Swanson and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Virginia T. Carlson

Virginia Thomas Carlson, of Bristol Virginia, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Akard Funeral Home.

Frank W. Cole

CHILHOWIE -- Funeral services for Frank Walter Cole will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in Mountain View United Methodist Church by Williams Funeral Home. Mr. Cole's grandson, the Rev. Anthony Dean Cole, and pastor John H. Graham will officiate.
The body will be taken to the church an hour before services.
Burial will be in the church cemetery with Masonic graveside rites by Chilhowie Masonic Lodge 250 AF&AM.
Mr. Cole, 89, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, in Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion.
Pallbearers will be J.B. Haga, A.J. Miller Jr., H.L. Blevins, Wade Blevins, Jay Cole, Robbie Phillips, Mark Keuls and Billy Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be Leon Cole, Weaver Widner, Hubert Widner, Johnnie Cole, Rhet Sutherland, Johnny Berry, Tommy Widner and Donnie W. Foster Sr.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday in Williams Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Mountain View United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1722, Chilhowie, VA 24319.

Charles E. Eaton

Funeral services for Charles Edward Eaton will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. in Weaver Funeral Home Chapel.
The Rev. Don White will officiate.
Burial will be in Johnson Cemetery.
Mr. Eaton, 50, of 615 Buckner St., Bristol, Va., died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, at his home.
Pallbearers will be Tracy Harless, John Roberts, Conley Harless, Larry Wayne Crumley, Ray Roberts, Richard Ball and Brian Cunningham. Special thanks to Bessie Tinley and Richard Ball.
Weaver Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

J. Edsel Farthing

FRANKLIN, N.C -- Funeral services for the Rev. J. Edsel Farthing will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. in Abingdon Presbyterian Church by Farris Funeral Service. The Revs. Tom Holiday and Tom Sullivan will officiate.
Burial will be in Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
Mr. Farthing, 84, of Watauga Church Road, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, at his home.
The family will receive friends an hour before the service Thursday in the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Gideons International, P.O. Box 372, Franklin, NC 28744.
Farris Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

William Harris Sr.

Funeral services for William Harris Sr. will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in Mount Carmel Gospel Church by Robinson Mortuary.
Pastors Ann Johnson, Jacqueline Oxendine, the Rev. Dr. W.A. Johnson and the Rev. James H. McDaniel Sr. will officiate.
Burial will be in Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
Mr. Harris, 77, of 308 McDowell St., Bristol, Va., died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Starksville, Miss., a son of the late Ike Harris and Ozella Wine.
Before moving to Bristol, he was employed 38 years with U.S. Metal Refinery of Cateret, N.J.
He was a member of Holy Temple Church of God in Christ in New York.
Surviving are his wife, Lulabell Harris; three sons, William Harris Jr. and Felix K. Harris, both of Bristol Tennessee and Darren Harris of Orrum, N.C.; a daughter, Unittie Peyton of Bristol Tennessee; two sisters, Essie L. Barnes of Belleville, Ill., and Mary Williams of Spring Valley, N.Y.; six grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.
Among survivors are son-in-law, Larry Peyton of Bristol Tennessee; and daughters-in-law, Renee Harris of Bronx, N.Y. and Denita Harris of Orrum.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday in Mount Carmel Gospel Church and other times at the residence.
Robinson Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Paul J. Healy

Graveside services for Paul J. Healy will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. in Glenwood Cemetery with military honors by Patton-Crosswhite VFW Post 6975 of Bristol.
Mr. Healy, of 904 Florida Ave., Bristol, Tenn., died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
Pallbearers will be Larry Bolling, Tony Bolling, Kim Bolling, Withrow Jones Jr., Austin Corbin and Col. Jack E. Shepard.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Tom Green, Dr. Bennett Cowan, Dr. Anthony Broglio, Dr. Stephanie J. Powell, staff of Four West of Bristol Regional Medical Center and Bristol Nursing Home First, Virginia.
Weaver Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Phillip P. Hennessee

Phillip Patrick Hennessee, 75, of Bristol Tennessee, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Coffee County, Tenn., a son of the late Patrick and Lena Rogers Hennessee, and lived in Sullivan County since 1945.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a retired employee of Adams and Whitson Construction Co.
Surviving are his wife, Nina Cheathem Hennessee; a daughter, Avis E. Stephany of Indianapolis; a son, Glenn A. Hennessee of Bristol Tennessee; two sisters, Opal Chamberlain of Santa Maria, Calif., and Irma Bottorff of Belleview, Fla.; three brothers, H.D. Hennessee and Paul Hennessee, both of Belleview and Wyndell Hennessee of Indianapolis; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 8 p.m. in Akard Funeral Home Chapel.
The Rev. Dan Smith will officiate. Graveside services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Rooty Branch Cemetery.
Mr. Hennessee was also preceded in death by two brothers, E. Leon Hennessee and Bryan Hennessee; and a sister, Pauline Hennessee.
Among survivors are grandchildren, Dru Stephany and Hannah Stephany.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday prior to the service in Akard Funeral Home.

John M. Kinsler

BIG STONE GAP -- John Milford Kinsler died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, in Heritage Hall Nursing Home.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Gilliam Funeral Home.

Louis E. Musser

ABINGDON -- Louis Eugene Musser, 81, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, in Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center in Kingsport.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Farris Funeral Service.

Garland Qualls

EAST STONE GAP, Va. -- James Garland Qualls, 88, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, in Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center in Kingsport.
He was a lifelong resident of East Stone Gap, a son of the late Richard and Sarah Gilley Qualls, and was of the Baptist faith.
He retired from Virginia Department of Transportation with 38 years of service.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Nell Qualls; three daughters, Jean Horner of Clinton, N.C., Betty Sue Osborne of Bristol Tennessee and Mary Lou Stanley of Thurmont, Md.; two sons, Billy Qualls of East Stone Gap and Ted Qualls of Clinton, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 8 p.m. in Holding Funeral Home Chapel.
The Rev. Hugh Bowers will officiate.
Graveside services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Riverview Cemetery in East Stone Gap.
Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Friday to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday in Holding Funeral Home.
