Nell F. Smithson

Nell Florence Smithson of 423 Sandbar Road, Bristol, Tenn., died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, in Wellmont Hospice House.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Weaver Funeral Home.

Mildred Cook Taylor

Mildred Cook Taylor, 93, of Bristol Virginia died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Gary, W.Va., a daughter of the late Harvey and Lizzie Carter Cook. She moved to Bristol in 1940. She was a member of Rural Retreat Methodist Church and the widow of Ernest Taylor.
Surviving are a son, Edward Lee Taylor of Bristol; and four grandchildren.
Services will be private.
Blevins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Marie N. Thacker

HAYSI -- Marie Nowlin Thacker, 72, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, in Dickenson County Medical Center.
She was born in Dickenson County, a daughter of the late Dewey and Lula Hess Nowlin. She was a homemaker and member of the Pentecostal church.
Surviving are her husband, James Frank Thacker; a daughter, Patsy Mullins of Bristol Virginia; five sons, Jimmy Thacker, Terry Thacker, Jerry Thacker, Frank Thacker Jr. and Richard Thacker; two brothers, Coy Nowlin of Haysi and Willie Nowlin of Newport News; two sisters, Jenell Sulhoff of Blair, Neb., and Bonnie Kidd of Detroit; 18 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Haysi Funeral Home. The Revs. Richard Hicks and Darrell Thacker will officiate. Burial will be in Thacker Family Cemetery on Big Ridge.
Mrs. Thacker was also preceded in death by a daughter, Diana Thomas; and a granddaughter, Carla Marie Owens.
The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. Monday in the funeral home, where a service will be held at 7 p.m.
Haysi Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Elbert F. Tucker

BLUFF CITY -- Funeral services for Elbert Franklin Tucker will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. in Memorial Funeral Chapel in Elizabethton. Dr. Dwight Hobbs will officiate. Entombment will be in the Chapel Mausoleum at Glenwood Cemetery in Bristol.
Mr. Tucker, 87, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
A special "Thank You" to Michael and Robin Garrett for their excellent care of Mr. Tucker.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Funeral Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Old Butler Museum, P.O. Box 261, Butler, TN 37640 or a charity of choice.

Roy Lee Worley

Roy Lee Worley of Bristol Virginia died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, in Cambridge House.
The family will receive friends at the home of son Bobby Worley, 1325 Island Road, Bristol, Va.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Weaver Funeral Home.

Georgia P. Alexander

LEBANON -- Funeral services for Georgia Patrick Alexander will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Lebanon Funeral Home Chapel. The Revs. Darrell Harmon, Carlye Carter and Went Puckett Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Olive Church Cemetery in Green Valley.
Mrs. Alexander, 80, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, in Russell County Medical Center.
She was a lifelong resident of Russell County, of the Baptist faith and the widow of Smith B. Alexander.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Claude (Bertha) Fife of Kingsport, Mrs. Buster (Betty) Clark of Bristol Virginia and Mrs. Buddy (Nancy) Stoots of Lebanon; four sons, Earnest Alexander of Meadowview, Kyle Alexander of Lincoln, Ill., Danny Alexander of Lebanon and Eddie Alexander of Bristol Virginia; a brother, Bertram Patrick of Lebanon; seven half-brothers, Sherman Patrick, Tyler Patrick and Larry Patrick, all of Indiana, Lester Patrick of Lebanon, Ray Patrick and Alford Patrick, both of Wytheville, and Stafford Patrick of Georgia; two half-sisters, Carrie Teauge and Clarice Ann White, both of Indiana; 17 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Alexander was also preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Faye Alexander; and a grandson, Gary Wayne Clark.
She had lived with granddaughter Rhonda Tompa on Frontage Road for the past four years.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Dennis Clark, Randy Clark, Greg Stoots, Mike Stoots, Mike Alexander and Allen Clark.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday in Lebanon Funeral Home.

Emma K. Carter

WISE -- Emma Rebecca Kilgore Carter, 85, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, in Norton Community Hospital.
She was of the Baptist faith and received a bachelor of arts degree from Radford Teachers College. She was a retired school teacher with 40 years of service in Wise County School System and a member of National Education Association. She was the widow of Carl L. Carter Sr.
Surviving are a son, Carl L. Carter Jr. of Woodbridge; three sisters, Rubel Kilgore and Bess Lunsford, both of Wise, and Maggie Isaac of Norton; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Tommy McAmis will officiate. Burial will be in Wise Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday In Sturgill Funeral Home.

Ocie B. Carty

CLINTWOOD -- Ocie B. Carty, 93, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, in St. Mary's Hospital Extend Care.
She was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County, a retired school teacher in the Dickenson County School System and the widow of Henry Carty. She was a member of Peuter Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Peuther Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. Ministers Joe Glenn Sluss and Lynn Vanover will officiate. The body will be taken to the church an hour before services. Burial will be in Carty Cemetery, Route 4, Clintwood.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Clintwood Funeral Home.

Bobby N. Davidson

KINGSPORT -- Bobby Neil Davidson, 64, of 1804 Hermitage Drive, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, in Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center.
He was born in Appalachia, Va., a son of the late Raleigh and Clara Kaylor Davidson. He was a graduate of the University of Virginia banking program. He was a member of Mayfair United Methodist Church, a retired manager from the Tennessee Department of Employment Security and the widower of Shirley Witt Davidson.
Surviving are a son, Bobby Davidson of Kingsport; a brother, Danny Ray Davidson of Kingsport; and a granddaughter, Sydney Brooke Davidson.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in East Lawn Funeral Home. Entombment will be in East Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Among survivors is daughter-in-law Dawn Davidson of Kingsport.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday in East Lawn Funeral Home.

Margaret H. Graybeal

MOUNT AIRY, N.C. -- Funeral services for Margaret Virginia Hickman Graybeal will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in St. Clair Bottom Primitive Baptist Church in Chilhowie, Va. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Graybeal, 60, of 559 Crosswinds Court, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, in Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday in the funeral home or any time at the home of a son, Johnny Graybeal, 1240 Virginia Ave., Bristol, Tenn.
Akard Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mark D. Honaker

ROSEDALE, Va. -- Funeral services for Mark Duane Honaker will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Honaker Funeral Home Chapel. The Revs. Mike Dye and Roy Lee Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in Ketron Memorial Gardens in Lebanon.
Mr. Honaker, 34, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, in a Lebanon hospital.
He was born in Richlands, a son of Buford L. and Louise Maxfield Honaker of Honaker. He lived all of his life in the Honaker and Rosedale areas. He was a 1985 graduate of Honaker High School and employed with Rankin Electric Co. of Marion.
Surviving, besides his parents, are his wife, Tammy Lynn Honaker; a son, Nathan Grant Honaker of the home; and three sisters, Debbie Miller of Honaker, Donna Fogleman of Lebanon and Kim Israel of Rosedale.
Pallbearers will be relatives and friends.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home, where a service will be held at 7 p.m. The Rev. Eugene Miller will officiate.
Honaker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Charles G. Humphrey

ABINGDON -- Funeral services for Charles G. Humphrey will be conducted Monday at 3 p.m. in Green Spring Presbyterian Church by Farris Funeral Service. The Rev. Thomas Sproule will officiate. Burial will be in Old Glade Presbyterian Cemetery with military rites by Patton-Crosswhite VFW Post 6975.
Mr. Humphrey, 83, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2000, in Johnston Memorial Hospital.
Pallbearers will be Blair Keller Jr., Preston Brown, Lonnie Wallace and Paul H. Phillips.
The family will receive friends at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the church.
Farris Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
