Frances H. Webb

ABINGDON -- Graveside services for Frances H. Webb will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Webb, 84, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, in Johnston Memorial Hospital.
Pallbearers will be Earl Fogleman, Kenneth Worley, John Reynolds Jr., Wayne Turley, Wiley Price and Clarence Tedder. Alternate pallbearers will be Bill Davis and Wilmer Grubb. Honorary pallbearers will be the nursing staff of Johnston Memorial Hospital.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Rich Valley United Methodist Church, c//o Wilmer Grubb, Treasurer, 19538 Stone Mountain Road, Abingdon, VA 24210.
Farris Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Blanche S. Blevins

Funeral services for Blanche Simerly Blevins will be conducted Saturday at noon in Weaver Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. David Burton will officiate. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Blevins, 79, of 922 Tennessee Ave., Bristol, Tenn., died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000, at her home.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-in-law.
Weaver Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

James B. Farris

Funeral services for James Braxton Farris will be conducted Saturday at 3 p.m. in Glenwood Mausoleum Chapel by Weaver Funeral Home. The Revs. Dan little and Ross Mangrum will officiate. Entombment will be in Glenwood Mausoleum with military honors by Patton-Crosswhite VFW Post 6975 of Bristol. Family and friends will meet at the Glenwood Mausoleum for the funeral service.
Mr. Farris, 74, of 8389 Wagner Road, Bristol, Va., died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, at his home.
He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, a life member of the DAV and a charter member of Patton Crosswhite VFW Post 6975 of Bristol.
Pallbearers will be Mickey Smith, Johnny Spradlyn, Guy Odum, Michael Smith, Steve Barker and Ricky Farris.
Weaver Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

William Emmett Hall

William Emmett Hall, 94, of 2165 Sixth St., Bristol, Tenn., died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, in Bristol Nursing Home in Bristol, Va.
He was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County, a self-employed farmer and a member of Fairmount Presbyterian Church. He was the widower of Virginia Clark Hall.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Elizabeth H. Holden of Bristol Tennessee; two half-sisters, Anna Lee Sanders and Vestal Holt, both of Blountville; a granddaughter, Mollie Elizabeth Holden of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. in Akard Funeral Home chapel. The Revs. Kyle Barr and Bill Goforth will officiate. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
Mr. Hall was also preceded in death by a son, William Hall Jr.; and a son-in-law, O.L. "John " Holden.
Pallbearers will be Hugh Stover, Nathan Stover, Granville Wolfe, Kenneth Harr, Raymond Perry, Richard Leonard, Billy Newton and Dan Clark. Honorary pallbearers will be a special friend, Nat Whitlock, other friends and neighbors and Dr. David Thompson.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. prior to the service Sunday in Akard Funeral Home.

B. Elliott Harrar Jr.

TROUTDALE, Va. -- B. Elliott Harrar Jr., 82, formerly of Belle Fonte, Wilmington, Del., died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, in Smyth County Community Hospital.
He was a son of the late Benjamin Elliott and Helen Vandever Harrar.
Surviving are a brother, Samuel L. Harrar of Wilmington, Del.; a sister, Laura Grubb of Troutdale; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Wharf Hill United Methodist Church at Sugar Grove by Bradley's Funeral Home in Marion. The Revs. Kenny Connor and Bill Hinton will officiate. Burial will be in Brandy Wine Hundred Cemetery in Wilmington.
Mr. Harrar was also preceded in death by a brother, Francis Harrar; and a half-brother, Henry Armstrong.
Among survivors are sister-in-law Mary Harrar of Wilmington and brother-in-law Jay Grubb of Troutdale.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Wharf Hill United Methodist Church, Sugar Grove.
Bradley's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Glenn Houston Hunt

SALTVILLE -- Glenn Houston Hunt, 58, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000, at his home.
He was a son of the late Bram and Mammie Hunt, a Christian and a disabled retiree from Brunswick Corp.
Surviving are his wife, Wilma Rhea Hunt; a son, Randy Lee Hunt of Saltville; a daughter, Rhonda H. Roop of Saltville; two brothers, Lincoln Hunt and Ted Hunt, both of Saltville; four sisters, Loreen Wilson, Josie Nunley, Billie Roark and Connie Martin, all of Satville; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. in D.R. Henderson Funeral Home. The Rev. Wade Kestner will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery.
Mr. Hunt was also preceded in death by a brother, Melvin Hunt; and a granddaughter, Hannah Roop.
Among survivors are grandchildren Tessa Roop, Haley Roop, Jeremy Hunt and Julia Hunt, all of Saltville; daughter-in-law Tina Hunt of Saltville; son-in-law Robert Roop of Saltville; and two special friends, Eddie Stokes and Mac Davidson.
Pallbearers will be R.J. Kestner, Robert Harris, Dan Roark, Billy Powers, Dwayne Prater, Eddie Stokes, Joey Roark, Brian Stokes and Douglas Armstrong. Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph Stokes, Otis Hunt, Buddy Cahill, Junior Hayden, Bill Burrgess, Dewey Chapman and Sam Roark.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday in D.R. Henderson Funeral Home.

Garnet M. Kaylor Jr.

VANDALIA, Ohio -- Garnet Martin Kaylor Jr., 82, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, in Hospice of Dayton.
He was a retired employee of Delco Products with 30 years of service and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Juanita Kaylor; a son, Jerry Kaylor; two brothers, Jack Kaylor and Bill Kaylor, both of Wise; a sister, Ruth McNeil of Hamilton, Ohio; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday in Vandalia.

Ruth Lawson

CASTLEWOOD -- Funeral services for Ruth Lawson will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Larry Rye will officiate. Burial will be in Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood.
Miss Lawson, 77, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000, in Russell County Medical Center in Lebanon.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Castlewood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ola Gay Lester

ROWE, Va. -- Ola Gay Lester, 69, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, in an Abingdon hospital.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Buchanan Funeral Service of Keen Mountain.

Clara G. McConnell

SNOWFLAKE, Va. -- Clara Dell Gillenwater McConnell, 93, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000.
She was a daughter of the late Robert F. Gillenwater and Jenny Lawson Gillenwater. She attended public schools of Scott County and was a 1923 graduate of Shoemaker High School in Gate City, attended Radford College, Appalachian State College in Boone, N.C., and East Tennessee State College in Johnson City.
She was a teacher in Virginia public schools for 49 years, with five years in Scott County, 13 years in Pittsylvania County and 31 years in Wise County at Appalachia Elementary School. She retired from teaching in 1972. She was a lifelong member of Ewing Chapel United Methodist Church, a 60-year member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International and participated in church activities and the Community League. While teaching in Appalachia, she was a member of Scott County Retired Teachers Association. She was the widow of Earl NcConnell.
Surviving are a sister, Bess G. Wilhelm of Asbury Centers at Baysmont; a stepson, Herman McConnell of Snowflake; two nephews; a niece; a great-niece; a great-nephew; a great-great-niece; and a great-great-nephew.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Gate City Funeral Home. The Rev. Joe Barber will officiate. Burial will be in Holston View Cemetery in Weber City.
Mrs. McConnell was also preceded in death by a sister, Mayme Sue Pendleton; three brothers, Elmer Gillenwater, Cecil Gillenwater and Glen Gillenwater; a nephew, Paul Gillenwater; and a niece, Mary G. Dickson.
Among survivors are a brother-in-law, Robert K. Pendleton of Snowflake, two nephews and nieces-in-law, Bill and Priscilla Pendleton of Snowflake, and Jack and Shirley Gillenwater of Leesburg, Fla.; a niece and nephew-in-law, Patricia and Sam Velosquez of Syracuse, N.Y.; a great-niece and great-nephew-in-law, Kim P. Johnson and William of Snowflake; a great-nephew and great-niece-in-law, R. Todd Pendleton and Amy of Snowflake; great-great-niece Alexandra Johnson of Snowflake; and great-great-nephew "Lex" Johnson of Snowflake; and stepdaughter-in-law Virginia McConnell of Snowflake.
Pallbearers will be Todd Pendleton, Bill Pendleton, William Johnson, Jack Gillenwater, Herman Mcconnell and Ronnie McConnell.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home or any time at the residence of Bill and Priscilla Pendleton at Snowflake.
