TRIMMER
Herbert Edward Trimmer, 65, died September 6, 2001 in Key West, Fla. He was a resident of Saluda, Va., originally from Highland Springs, Va. He is survived by one daughter, Susan Kahn and son-in-law, Dwayne Kahn of Key West; four sisters, Nora T. Sadler of Mechanicsville, Grace T. Broskie of Reidville, Nancy T. VanNess of Sandston, and Bobbi T. Hazelgrove of Mechanicsville; and one brother, Roland P. Trimmer of Mechanicsville. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jamie Lee Thomas. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the American Cancer Society, 4240 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, Va., 23060. Memorial service information will be announced later.

WALDEN
Alice Mae Brown Walden, 88, of Rolling Green Village, Greenville, S.C. died September 5, 2001. She was a native Virginian and widow of Richard C. Walden. She was the daughter of the late Julian W. Brown and Laura Bell Brown of Urbanna, Va. She was preceded in death by a son, the Rev. Richard C. Walden Jr. of Roanoke, Va.; and a sister, Reginia B. Dunn of Urbanna, Va. Mrs. Walden was a member of Taylors First Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Fredericksburg State Teachers College, now Mary Washington College, and retired from the Naval Weapons Station in Yorktown, Va. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Frank Estep of Greer, S.C.; three granddaughters, Mrs. Robert (Laura) Hickey of Gainesville, Ga., Mrs. Neil (Allison) Rashley of Columbia, S.C. and Mrs. Bret (Julie) Rogers of Durham, N.C.; a grandson, Richard Scott Walden of Roanoke, Va.; a daughter-in-law, Judy B. Walden of Roanoke, Va.; three great-grandsons, Andrew Hutto and Bobby and Tommy Hickey; a great-granddaughter, Virginia Brown Rashley; and a nephew, John W. Dunn of Gloucester, Va. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 8, 2001 in the chapel of Marks Bristow Funeral Home in Tappahannock, Va. at 2 p.m. Burial will be immediately following in the Essex Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. at the chapel. A memorial celebration of the life of Alice Walden will be held September 23, 2001 at 3 p.m. in the Rolling Green Village Activity Center. All residents, friends and family of Mrs. Walden are welcome. Memorials may be made to Beale Memorial Baptist Church, P.O. Box 816, Tappahannock, Va., 22560; to Taylors First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 6, Taylors, S.C.; or to a charity of one's choice. The Mackey Mortuary, Century Drive.

WHITE
Sally C. White, 46, of Richmond, died September 5, 2001 after a brief illness. She is survived by her husband, Robert M. White; daughter, Jesse A. White; two sons, Robert M. White III and Jeffrey J. White; two brothers, Emery J. Chase Jr. and Bruce W. Chase; four sisters, Suzanne T. Brown, Carolyn M. Peifer, Sandra A. Hunt and Debra J. Norris. She also had a special relationship with her mother-in-law, Ivy E. White. She was a vice president of Signet Bank before joining Help Reliance, a Richmond home-care company, as executive director. Currently, she and her husband own The Inn at Corolla Light, located on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Most recently she and her husband founded Cabaret-On-The-James, a horse farm, in Charles City County. Her remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday. Interment 12 noon Saturday at the White Family Cemetery, Charles City County.

WILKINSON
Catherine Craft Wilkinson died Tuesday, September 4, 2001 at St. Mary's Hospital in Richmond. She was born in Covington, Va., the daughter of May and W.D. Craft. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond C. Wilkinson and three sisters, Madeline C. Gleason, Alma W. Smith, and Mary C. Hughes. She is survived by three nieces, Elizabeth K. Mullins of Clifton Forge, Va., Mary Anne Roland of Marion, Va., and Mary Ellis H. Burruss of Wilmette, Ill. She taught at Pan American Business School for many years. She was a member of The Country Club of Virginia and was active in the Episcopal Church. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, September 7, 2001 at the Hollywood Cemetery Mausoleum.

WILSON
Lonnice R. "Nicey" Wilson of Richmond departed this life September 3, 2001. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted parents, Cynthia Wilson and Lonnie Peebles; three daughters, Tyesha C., Shyesha C. and Kaneisha Wilson; one son, Jervonte C. Little; maternal grandparents, Utley and Bernice Wilson; stepmother, Yolanda; five sisters, three brothers, four aunts, seven uncles, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at the Chiles Funeral Home, 2100 Fairmount Ave., where funeral services will be conducted Saturday, September 8, at 12 Noon, with Elder Freddy Vincent officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery.

WINN
Richard G. Winn Sr., 66, of Richmond, passed away September 4, 2001. He is survived by his mother, Bessie A. Winn; son, Richard G. Winn Jr. and his wife, Sandy; daughter, Rhonda Cale; granddaughter, Meredith Cale; brothers, Edward Lewis Winn Jr. and his wife, Alice Mae, Herbert Gordon Winn, Michael Lee Winn and his wife, Marie; sisters, LaVerne Nunnally and Alice W. Phillips. He was a member of Company F, John Marshall Cadet Corps and a current member of the Sierra Club. He was a former salesman for Hawthorne Volkswagen and Dominion Chevrolet and an independent real estate investor. He retired as department manager from Pleasants Hardware. Upon retirement he lived in Deltaville, Va. and recently returned to Richmond. A memorial service will be held Friday, September 7 at West End Community Church of the Nazarene, 591 West Broad St. at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Sierra Club.

WURTELE
Andrew Frederick Wurtele Sr., age 84, went to be with the Lord September 5, 2001. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Virginia Massey Wurtele; a son, Andrew F. Wurtele Jr. and daughter-in-law, Doris; grandchildren, Christopher Wurtele and Jennifer Lowe and her husband, Jonathan; a great-grandson, Nathaniel Lowe; a sister, Mrs. Leslie S. Wright; a brother, George R. Wurtele; and brother-in-law, Jerry Massey and wife, Elizabeth. His remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and where funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday. Interment Dale Memorial Park. Mr. Wurtele was retired from U.S. Steel after 40 years of service, a veteran of WWII, and a member of Open Door Baptist Church.

WYATT
Clarence A. Wyatt, age 90, of Mechanicsville died September 5, 2001. Survived by his wife of 70 years, Dorothy L. Wyatt; one son, Warren W. "Bubba" Wyatt Sr. and his wife, Barbara R. Wyatt; five grandsons, Warren W. Wyatt Jr. and his wife, Sheryl, Michael W. Wyatt and his wife, Susan, Scott A. Wyatt and his wife, Terri, Granville L. "Bobby" Wyatt Jr. and his wife, Cynthia, Danny R. Wyatt and his wife, Debbie; one granddaughter, Cyndi Wyatt-Blake; one sister, Annie M. Stephens; and 16 greatgrandchildren, all of Mechanicsville. He was preceded in death by one son, Granville L. "Bobby" Wyatt Sr., Captain of the Richmond City Fire Department. Mr. Wyatt was a member of the Black Creek Baptist Church, Mechanicsville. His remains rest at the Mechanicsville chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee Davis Rd., where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, September 8, at the funeral home. Burial at Signal Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Black Creek Baptist Church, Building Fund, 6289 McClellan Rd., Mechanicsville, Va. 23111.

BLOUNT
Frances Chappell Weisiger Blount, a resident of Heritage Hall in Blackstone, Virginia, died Wednesday, July 31, 2002. She was the daughter of Clarence Duncan Weisiger and Fleetie Jones Weisiger, born in Amelia County on February 28, 1910. Surviving are a daughter, Jean Blount Hudson of Melbourne, Florida; a granddaughter, Katherine Abbot Hudson of Miami, Florida; a grandson, John Kendall Hudson, who is serving in the Marines at 29 Palms, California. Mrs. Blount was a graduate of Farmville State Teachers College, now Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia. She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Abbot Weisiger Shell; and two brothers, Clarence Duncan Weisiger Jr. and Ryland Randolph Weisiger. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, August 3 at 11 a.m. at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, corner of South Main and Church Streets, Blackstone, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor her legacy by "Pay It Forward" and give a personal service or gift to someone you know in need.

BOWLES
Ms. Beverly D. Bowles of Richmond, departed this life Wednesday, July 31, 2002. She is survived by one daughter, Latisha Bowles; one son, Jamal Bowles; three grandchildren, one great-grandchild; parents, Georgia and Eugene Bowles Sr.; sister, Linda Morgan; brothers, Eugene, Benjamin, Richard, Bobby and Billy; one sister-in-law, one brother-in-law, several aunts and uncles, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, other relatives and friends, among them devoted friends, Wayne Pryor and Joanne Christian. Remains rest at the Mimms Funeral Home, 19th and Hull Sts. Funeral services will be held, Saturday, August 3, 11 a.m. at the Richmond Christian Center, 214 Cowardin Ave., Rev. Steve Parson, pastor. Interment in Maury Cemetery. After 10 a.m. Saturday, remains will rest in the above named church until hour of service. Relatives and friends attending funeral services, assemble at the church, Saturday, 10:30 a.m.

BROWN
Robert Kenneth Brown, 73, of Bremo Bluff, Va., died July 30, 2002. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a retired Virginia Power Operations Department employee with 33 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Minter Brown; a son, Robert K. Brown Jr. and his wife, Kimberly; a sister, Irma B. Melton; a brother, William Curtis Brown Jr.; and two grandchildren, Rachel and Nicholas. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, August 3, 2002 at the Grace Episcopal Church, Bremo Bluff, conducted by Rev. Peter Way. Sheridan Funeral Home, Kents Store, Va., handling arrangements.

BURTON
Departed this life July 30, 2002, Herman "Melvin" Burton. He is survived by his devoted wife, Odell Burton; and other relatives and friends. CASSON
Ann Bard Casson died on July 25, 2002 at the age of 74. She lived and worked for 25 years in Richmond, Va. as a social worker and licensing specialist with the State Department of Social Service. Ann grew up in Croton-On-Hudson, N.Y., matriculated at Smith College and received her M.S.W. at Bryn Mawr. She was an avid environmentalist and birder. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Mort Casson of Richmond; and her son, Gerald Casson of Seattle, Wa. Interment at a later date will take place in upstate New York.

CRAWFORD
Departed this life July 30, 2002, Bertania G. "Tana" Crawford. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Regina Avery. She is survived by her daughter, Warrentetta Bledsoe; eight grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Burney; brother, Stewart Trent; a host of other relatives and friends, one devoted, Lorraine Ampy. Charles L. Crenshaw, age 58, of Roanoke, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2002. He was born December 18, 1943 the son of the late Waldine C. Crenshaw and Mabel Wade Crenshaw. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Surviving are daughter, Susan C. Johnson of Portsmouth, Va.; son, Charles L. Crenshaw Jr. of Richmond. Memorial services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday August 3, 2002 at Lotz Funeral Home, Roanoke Chapel, 1001 Franklin Road., Roanoke, Va.

CRENSHAW
Mr. William Tucker Crenshaw, 80, of Richmond, passed away on July 31, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Doris W. Crenshaw; three nephews and his niece. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bliley Funeral Home's Central Chapel, 3801 Augusta Ave. Interment to follow in Riverview Cemetery.

CUNNINGHAM
Florence Harris Cunningham died July 31, 2002. She was born August 25, 1905 in Buckingham County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Llewelyn and Henry Massie Harris; and 10 siblings. Mrs. Cunningham spent her early life in Buckingham County and in Lynchburg, Virginia. She attended Farmville State Teachers College (Longwood University) and returned to Buckingham County to teach school. There she met her husband. Since their move to Richmond in 1940, she devoted her life to her family and her church. She was a member of Lakeside Presbyterian Church for 60 years. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Samuel Demoval Cunningham; her daughters, Claudia Jane Cunningham and Anne Cunningham Woodfin; son-in-law, John Howlett Woodfin; granddaughter, Suzanne Woodfin Villani and her husband, Anthony John Villani Jr. and their children, Johnny, Wright and Virginia; grandson, John Howlett Woodfin Jr. and his wife, Charlotte Brown Woodfin and their children, Anna and Eliza; and one brother, William Llewelyn Harris; and a number of nieces and nephews. Her remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Staples Mill Chapel, 8510 Staples Mill Road, where the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, and where services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. Interment at Westhampton Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lakeside Presbyterian Church, 7343 Hermitage Road, 23228.
