Higgins, Eugene J. to Miss Juliet Hutchings, daughter of the late RichardS. Hutchings. Married on Thursday evening by the Rev. Bishop Meade.

MAYER, Mary Frederica, infant daughter of Mary and the Late Frederick Mayer, age 22 months. Died on Thursday afternoon the 5th of Feb., after an illness of 12 days. The friends and acquaintances of the family are invited to attend the funeral from the residence of Mr. J. Odend'hal this morning at 11 o'clock..

Mon Feb 9. 1835
CURTIS, Mary, the wife of Drayton M. Curtis, age 46 years. Departed this life at Deep Creek, Feb 7. She gently ceased to breathe, and sweetly fell asleep at a quarter after 3 o'clock a m to wake no more until that day when "the dead in Christ shall rise first." She was a pattern in these— that she was a woman and she loved her husband with a woman's love. She bore trying reverses and bereavements with meek and Christian resignation. She never jested nor expressed a feeling or sentiment that was not in exact accordance with her heart. She was from youth a very humble and unpretending member of the great society of believers in the crucified Savior, through from providential circumstances, successively connected with the united brethern, the Presbyterian and the Baptist branches of that society, and in her last distressing illness she complained not. "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God."

DAVIS, Wilson, Esq, died in the town of Smithfield, on Monday the 2d inst. In the 62nd year of his age. R Davis was a kind neighbor, a tender and affectionate father, and an indulgent master. He had resided long in the town of Smithfield and died beloved and respected by all its inhabitants. He has left 5 children to lament their irreparable loss.

LAND, Miss Sarah Frances, died on Friday morning last, after a short illness. Miss Sarah Frances Land, daughter of Enoch Land, late of Princess Anne County.

WHITE, Luke, grocer of this borough aged about 38 years died yesterday afternoon.
His friends and acquaintances are invited to attend his funeral, this day at 10 o'clock from his late residence on Campbell's wharf.

CAREY, Thomas, Esq of Gloucester Co. To Mrs. Mary G. Vaughan of this borough.
Married Yesterday evening by the Rev. D. Ducacher.

Campbell, William B., to Mrs. Mary Peel all of this borough. Married yesterday evening by the Rev. Dr. French.

WILKINSON, James, son of Capt. Jesse Wilkinson, U. S. Navy, died yesterday morning after a short illness in the 12th year of his age.
The friends and acquaintance of the family are invited to attend his funeral from the residence of this father this morning at 11 o'clock.

EVENS, Lieut John., of the United States' Navy, died at Philadelphia, on the 5th Feb.

Sawyer, Harvey, to Miss Eliza Ann Booth. Married on Thursday evening last by the Rev. Mr. Vorden.

McAllister, Capt Andrew to Miss Martha Tyler, married in Suffolk on Tuesday the 10th inst. By the Rev. Allen R. Bernard

LUKE, Wm., aged 39 years. Died on Thursday evening the 12th inst after avery painful illness.
He may be justly called "the noblest work of God —an honest man," and as a friend to his country one of the most energetic of our citizen soldiers.
He has left a wife and two children to lament the loss of a tender and affectionate husband and an indulgent parent and his associates in arms, and his acquaintances generally, a sincere and worthy friend. His funeral will take place this afternoon at 2 oclock from his late residence at the corner of Washington and Crab Sts. Portsmouth Jan14th1835.

Married on Thursday evening by the Rev. Mr. Mitchell.

ALLMAND, Robert., departed this life on Wed the 11th inst, at the residence of Philip E. Tabb, esq., in Gloucester Co., in the 25th year of his age and "in the full assurance of faith."

Southall, Dr. James B., Jr., to Miss Mary Frances, daughter of Samuel Whitfield, Esq., all of Smithfield.
Married in Smithfield, on Thursday evening last by the Rev. Stephen w. Jones.

Murden, Joseph, to Miss Laura V Sanford, fourth daughter of Daniel Sanford, Esp., of this borough.
Married on Saturday evening, by the Rev. Mr Boyden.

BOYLE, James, Esq., aged 50 years.
Died near New Orleans, on the 12 th January last., after a short illness.
For many years a highly respectable inhabitant of this borough.
On the establishment of the Lancastreian institution in this place.
Mr. Boyle was invited to the charge of it, and fulfilled its duties to the entire satisfaction of the Directors until declining health caused him to resign the situation. His intelligence and polished manners won for him the esteem of this community.

SELDEN, Doc. Richard Yates, in the 27th year of his age, died at Farmville (His residence) in the county of Lancaster, on Saturday the 27th Dec last.
Having labored under a distressing affliction for the last four or five years.
He was the only child of his widowed mother whom he has left to bemoan his loss.

ADDINGTON, Mrs. E., died on Monday . Consort of Mr. Joseph C. Addington of this borough.
She was a kind parent and efficient in all the relations of female duty.
She has left six children to lament her loss.
Mrs. A was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church.

Thurs Feb 19, 1835
FISK, Daniel G., died in Williamsburg, on Saturday the 7th inst. In the35th year of his age.
He was a native of this borough, where he resided until within a few months of his death when he returned from the noise and bustle of a commercial town to the quiet of the pleasant village in which he died.
From infancy to manhood his conduct was a model of propriety.
No one enjoyed with greater relish the pleasures of the social circle, but even in the midst of enjoyment, he was mindful of his destiny. He had seen for several years that his days were numbered and he marked each hour as if it were the last of his existence. The kindness of his manner cheered his friends and there were led to indulge in hopes which he told them were only delusive. And when his last hour was at hand-- when the spirit was about to depart from its earthly tabernacle-- the hour that he had looked forward to so long-- he was undismayed and freely resigned his life at the requisition of his Maker.
His numerous friends realized his worth while living and will loudly cherish his memory.

BOOS, Philip, died yesterday afternoon in the 42nd year of his age, leaving a wife and two small children to mourn the loss of a fond and affectionate husband and father. His friends and those of his mother are invited to attend his funeral from her residence on Church St. This afternoon at half past 3 o'clock.

WATLINGTON, Eliza Ann, only daughter of the Late Mr Nathaniel Watlington, merchant of this borough, died last evening after a few days illness, in the 17th year of her age, leaving a disconsolate mother and three brothers to deplore the loss of an amiable and affectionate daughter and sister.
The friends and acquaintances of the family are invited to attend the funeral from the residence of her mother on Cumberland St tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock.

GODWIN, Jonathan. Died on Monday morning, 16th inst after a few days illness at his residence in Barrots neck, Nansemond county, VA.
He might by justly called a high minded honest man he has left a wife and two small children to lament the loss of a tender and affectionate husband and an indulgent parent; and his neighbours and acquaintances generally a sincere and worthy friend.

**McCoy, James to Miss Mahala Thomas. Married on the 6 th inst in the townof Hertford, N C, at the residence of Mr. Wm. McCoy, by Henry w. Borbour, Esq.
The bride's maid was Mrs. Lydia McCoy, former wife of the aforesaid James McCoy, from whom he was divorced some two or three years ago. **

PHILLIPS, John, died on the Eastern Shore, VA on the 19 th inst., aged 70 years. He has left an aged wife and six children to lament their irreparable loss.

MEAGHER, Nancy Louisa, second daughter of Martin B. and Susan Meagher, age 2 years and 8 months, died on Tuesday morning, the 24 th inst.

SAWYER, Mrs. Kezia, consort of Mr. Samuel Sawyer, aged 36 years, died in Portsmouth, on Tuesday morning last lat 7 o'clock after a lingering illness, leaving a husband and 7 children to lament the loss of a kind wife and parent.

Fri Feb 27, 1835,

Hern, William A., merchant, to Miss Jane A., Johnson, daughter of John Johnson Esq. All of this place.
Married Last evening by the Rev. Mr. Burgess.

COX, Robert William, son of Jesse J. and Georgiana R. Cox, aged 19 days, departed this life on the 25 th inst.
