CHRISTIAN
William F. Christian of Blair St. died October 26, 1999. He is survived by his daughter, Jacqueline Christian of New York; son, William E. Christian of New Jersey; grandson, Jason Christian-Conner; brother, and his wife, Charles O. and Elizabeth J. Christian of Suffolk; nephew and his wife, Horace E. Christian and Peggy Christian; nieces, Charlene Andrews (James) and Annette Christian; cousins, among them, Beulah Davis; a host of other relatives and friends. His remains rest at the W. S. Watkins & Son Funeral Home. Graveside rites will be conducted at the Forest Lawn Mausoleum at 3 p.m. Monday, November 1, 1999. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 2:15 p.m., Monday.

CLEMENTS
Lillie B. Clements of Carson died Saturday, October 30, 1999. Notice of funeral services will be announced later by the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.

COLEMAN
Miss Rachel Coleman, 82, of Montross, died on Friday, October 29, 1999. Miss Coleman was a member of Siloam Baptist Church. Miss Coleman is survived by her sister, Betty C. Brooks; thirteen nieces an d nephews; and a host of great-nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her devoted loved ones of the Morris Family. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 1, 1999 at Siloam Baptist Church, Zacata, Va. with burial in the family cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Welch Funeral Home, Montross. Memorial contributions may be made to the Siloam Baptist Church, P.O. CONKLIN
Jack Conklin, 78, of Richmond, formerly of Greenwood Lake, N.Y., died October 29, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Doris Lynagh Conklin; daughters, Gayle Brown and her husband, Jim of Richmond, Nancy Krugh and her husband, Bill of Clarion, Pa.; also three grandchildren. Remains rest at the Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, 12 Noon at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

DEAN
Lillian Clements Dean of Williamsburg, Va., died Saturday, October 30, 1999. Mrs. Dean was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Clements; their daughter, Sandra Clements Reeder; and her husband, companion and friend, Patrick C. Dean. Survivors include her daughter, Marjorie Clements Croswell; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at Woodland Cemetery in Ashland, Va., on Monday, November 1 at 3 p.m. by the Rev. Joseph J. Cailles. The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to the flood victims in Virginia: Christian Outreach, Attn: John Bates, 18051 Days Point Road, Smithfield, Va. 23430. GAULDIN
David Penn Gauldin, 64, of Dinwiddie, died Friday, October 29, 1999 at his residence. He was born in Ruffin, North Carolina, a son of the late, William T. and Ocie Mae Gammon Gauldin. Mr. Gauldin was a retired pipefitter for Allied Signal Corporation, a member of Masonic Lodge #289 in Hopewell, a member of the Hopewell Moose Lodge #1472 and a member of the Red Oak Hunt Club. He served his country as a seaman in the United States Navy. He is survived by his wife, Annette B. Gauldin; three sons, David Keith Gauldin of Henrico, Gary T. Gauldin of Dinwiddie, and Michael B. Gauldin of Chesterfield; a stepdaughter, Wanda G. Havens of Disputanta; a stepson, Thomas A. Havens of Smithfield; three brothers, Charles L. Gauldin and James D. Gauldin, both of McKenney and Steve A. Gauldin of Colonial Heights; a sister, Gloria Doughty of Petersburg; and eight grandchildren, Christian Nicole, Adam Thomas, David Bryant, Michael Ryan, Lance Andrew, Patrick Wayne, Tiffany Marie and Thomas Allen. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, November 1, 1999 in the Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, with the Rev. Gene Tatum and the Rev. Harry B. Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Ocran United Methodist Church Cemetery, Sutherland. A Masonic service will be held 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with family visitation following until 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6359, Glen Allen, Va. 23058.

Louis U. Koenig, 88,of Rockville, Va., widower of Lois G. Koenig, died October 29, 1999. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, L. Alan and Barbara Koenig; three brothers, John, Edward and Charles Koenig; two sisters, Evelyn K. Harris and Mary K. Dameron; three grandchildren, Kim Koenig, Karen K. Lucchesi and her husband, Scott Lucchesi, and Daniel Koenig; great-granddaughter, Sarah Marie Lucchesi. His remains rest at Bliley Funeral Home’s Staples Mill Chapel, 8510 Staples Mill Rd., where services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday. Interment Westhampton Memorial Park. Mr. Koenig was a member of the Richmond Concourse Assoc. of Pigeon Fanciers, the Gesang-Verein of Virginia and the West End Catholic Men’s Assoc.

Ruth B. Mann of Powhatan, died October 30, 1999. She is survived by her daughter, Susan M. Blankenship of Powhatan; three brothers, P.C. Bethel, Ben Bethel, and W.E. Bethel, all of Richmond; two grandchildren, Chad Lawson and Amy E. Lawson; and one great-grandson, Jimmy. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy., Powhatan. Mona Beckham O’Bier, 66, of Glen Allen, Va., died October 30, 1999. She is the widow of Clifton R. O’Bier Jr. She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl B. McCartney; son, Carl D. Bottom and his wife, Debby; also three grandchildren, Shawn, Michael and Danielle. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m. at St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church, 10627 Patterson Ave. Interment Westhampton Memorial Park. Ruth L. (Vernell) Perks, age 82, of Henrico, died October 28, 1999. She is survived by her husband, Andrew K. Perks Sr.; her son, Andrew K. Perks Jr.; her daughter, Renna P. Hinson; her brothers, Joe and John Leber; her sisters, Dorothy Atkins, Alice Walker, Ann Carroll, Shug Stinson and Mary Leggin; two grandchildren. Her remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home’s Staples Mill Chapel, 8510 Staples Mill Rd, where the family will receive friends Sunday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Graveside services will be held Monday, 2 p.m. at Westhampton Memorial Park. Virginia Jean (Jean Parker) Prosser departed this life October 28, 1999. She is survived by three daughters, Esther Bonner, Margaret Conway and one devoted, Patricia Bonner; three sons, Leroy Bonner, James and John Prosser; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, James and John Parker, Phoenix, Ariz.; one sister, Edna Mealey; one aunt, Alberta Walker, Long Branch, N.J.; three sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, one devoted, Raymond White. Remains rest at the Chiles Funeral Home, 2100 Fairmount Ave., where the family will receive friends on Sunday (tonight) from 5 until 6 p.m. and where funeral services will be held on Monday, 1 p.m., with Rev. Rufus (Bo) Pulling Sr., age 72, of Henrico, died October 28, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Ann Ellis Pulling; his children, Rufus J. Pulling, Jr., Carol Ann Marvin, Evelyn Fay Stewart, and Sandra G. Copeland; his brother, Nathan I. Pulling; his sister, Bertha (Dolly) E. Peppenger; ten grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. Mr. Pulling was the president of the Bill Bagby Hunt Club and a retired maintenance supervisor for Home Beneficial. His remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home’s Staples Mill Chapel, 8510 Staples Mill Rd., where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and where funeral services will be held Monday 11 a.m. Interment Signal Hill Memorial Park.

RAWLS
Christine Vaughan Rawls, 70, died October 30, 1999. A native of Newport News, she was the daughter of the late Eunice Butler and John Vernon Vaughan, and was predeceased by a daughter, Frances Virginia Rawls. She had been office manager for Brandon House Furniture. Mrs. Rawls was a member of Western Branch Baptist Church, where she was an active member of the choir and had been a director of the Women’s Missionary Union. She was also an active member of the Pickard Chorale and the YMCA Chorus. Survivors include her husband, Edward Allen Rawls Sr.; one daughter, Cynthia Rawls Bess and her husband, Phillip of Suffolk; three sons, Edward Allen Rawls Jr. and his wife, Sue of Richmond, John Stephen Rawls and his wife, Mary Sue of Zuni, Timothy Wise Rawls and his wife, Darlene of Suffolk; ten grandchildren, Jay Rawls, Jeri Rawls, Evan Rawls, Bryan Bess, Jacob Whitley Rawls, Meaghan Elizabeth Rawls, Jackie Rawls, Allison Rawls, Margaret Rawls and Taylor Bess; four sisters, Lillian Harwood of Ocean Springs, Miss., Doris Diggs of Hampton, Cynthia Sadler of Williamsburg, and Janet Moore of Poquoson; one brother, J.V. Vaughan of Hampton; a devoted cousin, Anne Wunderle; many nieces and nephews; and the staff of Three West at Obici Hospital. A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Western Branch Baptist Church by the Revs. David Jendrey and Carter Dey with burial in the church cemetery. The family will be at the R. W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Building Fund of Western Branch Baptist Church, 6952 Old Myrtle Rd., Suffolk, Va. 23434 or the Oncology Unit at Obici Hospital, 1900 N. RECTOR
George E. Rector, 78, of Midlothian, died Friday, October 29, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Peggy M. Rector; his children, Gayle R. Anstine, Patricia L. Watkins, and Col. George E. Rector Jr. USMC ; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Mr. Rector was a World War II Navy veteran. His remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home’s Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia.

REYNOLDS
Robert M. Reynolds, age 83, of Richmond, died Monday, October 25, 1999. He is survived by one niece, Marian Cates of Springfield, Va.; two nephews, Richard Cates of Raliegh, N.C. and Ward Cates of Center Valley, Penn. A memorial service will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 1, 1999 at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions should be made to the charity of donor’s choice.

Josephine Scully, of Richmond, Va., widow of Joseph E. Scully and loving mother of Kevin Scully, Penny Scully and Wendy Rieger, passed away Saturday, October 23, 1999 as a result of advanced breast cancer. A memorial service will be held to honor her on Sunday, November 14 at 2:30 p.m. in the First Unitarian Church at 1000 Blanton Ave., Richmond, Va. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Derek, Rina and Alek Scully and Shelby Reiger.
