PROCTOR
Cecil Herbert Proctor, 69, of Manakin-Sabot, widower of Iris Jean Proctor, died Friday, April 23, 1999. He is survived by five children, Diane Graves, Jeannie Eaves, Jerome C., Larry R. of Richmond, and Gregory D. Proctor of Manakin-Sabot; one sister, Phyllis Cutright of Louisa; three brothers, Bruce F. of Sandston, Harold J. of Richmond, and Ralph E. Proctor of Portsmouth; seven grandchildren, Jeremie, Logan, and Autumn Proctor, Jennifer and Justin Eaves, Scott Johnson, and Perry Graves; other close relatives and friends. Mr. Proctor worked in the restaurant business for 45 years and retired from Proctor's Restaurant. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 27, at Goochland Baptist Church. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bon Secours Hospice. Arrangements by the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home.

SEAY
Karen K. Seay died Saturday, April 24, 1999. She is survived by her husband, David L. Seay Sr.; one daughter, Ashley R. Morris; her mother, Barbara Garner; and her father, Bill Klenota; two brothers, Paul Klenota and Michael Klenota. Remains rest at the West Chapel, Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 Broad Street Road, where family will receive friends 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Private services.

SHUMAKER
Viola (Ola) B. Shumaker, 82, of Dillwyn, died Sunday, April 25, 1999. She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth S. Taylor of Richmond, and Edna S. Moss of Dillwyn; three sons, Cecil and Robert Shumaker, both of Dillwyn, and George W. Shumaker of Richmond; a sister, Sadie Green of Arvonia; two brothers, Walter and Lawrence Banton, both of Richmond; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church, with interment in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn.

STINE
Hazel Kretzer Stine, 98, died Sunday, April 25, 1999 in Richmond, Va. Miss Stine was born in Keedysville, Md., October 23, 1900, the oldest child of George Oliver Stine and Mary Kretzer Stine. She is survived by a niece, Mrs. Beverly Inge Christian of Richmond; and two nephews, Austin Winfree Farley of Richmond, and George Thomas Bell Jr. of Frederick, Md. Miss Stine moved to Richmond in 1919, and was employed by Owens & Minor, Inc., that same year. She retired from the firm in 1965. Miss Stine was an active member of First English Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends Monday, April 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bennett Funeral Home, Central Chapel, 3215 Cutshaw Ave. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 27, 3 p.m. at First English Lutheran Church, Scherer Chapel, 1603 Monument Ave. Interment Wednesday, April 28, at 1 p.m. in Fairview Cemetery, Keedysville, Md. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First English Lutheran Church, Memorial Fund, 1603 Monument Ave., Richmond, Va. 23220.

VANHEUVELN
Reinder VanHeuveln, 89, a native of The Netherlands, died April 25, 1999. He served in the Royal Netherlands Merchant Marine from 1927 until the end of WWII. Mr. VanHeuveln moved to Richmond and retired from Cockrell Storage Company. He was interested in stamp collecting since boyhood. He was the past-president of the Richmond Stamp Club and of the ASNP (American Society Netherlands Philately). He was also a life-member of the American Philatelic Society. He is survived by his wife, Frances L. VanHeuveln; his daughter Mrs. Lou Wrenn; a son, Henry L. VanHeuveln and his wife, Faye of Chester; two grandchildren, Mary Wrenn Ward of Midlothian, and Ben P. Wrenn of Phoenix, Ariz.; one great-grandson, Jack Ward. He also has two nephews and several cousins in Holland. His remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull St. Rd., where the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, and where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday. Interment Maury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Good Shepherd, Forest Hill Ave. and 43rd St., or Forest View Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 36153, Richmond, Va. 23235.

Llewellyn Haynic Bradshaw, 76, of Burgess died September 25, 1999. He was a member of Fairfields Baptist Church, Reedville Lodge #321 AF & AM, ACCA Temple Scottish Rites, Rappatomac Shrine Club, Gr and Lodge of Royal Arch Westmoreland #41. Surviving are his wife, Betty H. Bradshaw. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jones-Ash Funeral Home, Rainswood. Interment will be Fairfields Baptist Church Cemetery, Burgess. Mrs. Zelma Trottie Burrows, age 90, widow of Claude H. Burrows, died September 25, 1999. She is survived by two sons, Phillip G. Burrows of Raleigh, N.C., and LeRoy T. Burrows of Williamsburg, Va.; one brother, Amos Trottie of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Frances Stannard of Chicago, Ill., and Laura Ullrich of San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Remains rest at the Central Chapel, Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave., where family will receive friends Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Graveside services will be conducted in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Wednesday at 1 p.m.

Jackie William Cox, age 63, of Midlothian, died September 24, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Beverley Hutchison Cox; his son, William Troy Cox of Richmond; his daughters, Tracy Cox German and her husband, Jeffrey Andrew German of Ellicott City, Md., and Trisha Jacquelyn Cox Hurlock and her husband, John Joseph Hurlock of Goochland, Va.; his grandchildren, Jeffrey, Andrew and Alexander German, and Madison and Kimberly Cox; his brother, Kenneth Monroe Cox and his wife, Martha H. Cox of Richmond; his nephew, James Lynn Hampton and wife, Sandra Hampton of Richmond. Mr. Cox served with the Seabees, United States Navy during the Korean War, and was a retired draftsman with Ruffin & Payne. Remains rest at the Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd., where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, and where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday. DAVIS
Elgie Ronald Davis, 61, of Colonial Heights, died on Sunday, September 26, 1999 in John Randolph Medical Center, Hopewell. A native of Chesterfield, S.C., he was the son of the late Thomas Teal and Rut h Burr Davis, and was preceded in death by a stepfather, Spencer W. Drye. Mr. Davis was a U.S. Army veteran, and a retired pipe fitter at Allied Chemical. He is survived by a son, Ronald A. Davis of Chester; two daughters, Annette D. Britt of Enon, and Sherri Wilkinson of Matoaca; four grandchildren; a half sister, Linda Efird of China Grove, S.C.; and half brother, Scott Davis of Kannapolis, S.C. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 29, 1999 in Bermuda Memorial Park, Chester. The Rev. Julian Yuille will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 28, 1999 at the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights. Ethel Belle Davis of 6609 Timberland Drive entered eternal rest September 23, 1999. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phenel Davis and son, Leslie Davis. Cherishing her memories are two daughters, Florence James and Sandra Davis; three sons, George, Ernest and John Davis; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Delores and one devoted, Renea Davis; two brother-in-law; five sisters-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Shiflett Jr.; her grandchildren, Beverley Doyle Venuti and her husband, Joseph A. Venuti III, Jeffrey T. Doyle and his wife, Erinn Gates Doyle, Michael D. Loftis and his wife, Margaret Akridge Loftis, Cynthia Loftis Daigle and her husband, John A. Daigle, Patrick D. Shiflett, Mark E. Shiflett and Michelle Shiflett Landrum and her husband, Corey L. Landrum; and her great-grandchild, Stone Lyttleton Landrum; and her sister, Mrs. Eloise H. Powell of Boykins, Va. Jane Pickels Edwards of Richmond, the widow of Robert L. Edwards, passed away Friday, September 24, 1999. She is survived by three children, Shana Hall, Chesterfield, Helen Branzelle, and Michael S. McBride, both of Richmond; three brothers, Wm. (Bill) Pickels, Mechanicsville, Charles (Buck) Pickels, Richmond and Herbert Pickels, Goochland; a sister, Esther P. Fowler, Richmond; also nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Edwards was retired from the Home Beneficial Life Insurance Co. Kemp; five brothers, John, William, Marshal, Donald and Robert Flippen; six sisters, Margie Franklin, Dannie Frederickson, Cernata Cobbs, Lucy Baber, Edith Phipps and Mary Elizabeth Dickerson; five grandchildren, Samuel Kemp, Melissa, Cammie, Melanie and Shelby Flippen. GREGORY
Mrs. Louise Gillispie Gregory, 89, widow of the Carl Thomasson Gregory, died Saturday, September 25, 1999 at the Berry Hill Nursing Home in South Boston. Louise was born on October 7, 1909 as the eldest daughter to the late Owen and Mattie Wooton Gillispie. She was a 1929 Clarksville High School graduate and a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Anyone who had ever visited Louise could see her love for gardening and flowers. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 2 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Roger Wilcher and Mr. Glenwood Gillispie. Surviving are daughters, Helen G. Gooch of Norfolk and Dorothy G. Morrison of Richmond; a son, Carl Owen "Sonny" Gregory and his wife, Jean of Norfolk; six granddaughters; four grandsons; one great-granddaughter; and seven great-grandsons. She was predeceased by sisters, Pauline Bailey, Nellie Newton, Arlene Wachter and Lucy Wells.
