DAVIS
Mrs. Louise Hicks (Dootsie) Davis, age 54, of Richmond, died Monday, May 19, 1997. She was the widow of Jasper Ray Davis, a former Detective with the Richmond Police Department. She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte D. Moore; and her son, Richard Michael Davis; two grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Barbara C. Hicks; and two nieces. Mrs. Davis was a Switchboard Operator for the Virginia Credit Union. Her remains rest at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., where the family will receive friends 12-2 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday. Interment Washington Memorial Park.

FLETCHER
Lawrence (Bubba) Edward Fletcher, 60, of Richmond, died May 18, 1997. He is survived by two brothers, Herman S. Fletcher Jr., and Frederick B. Fletcher; a sister, Mrs. Rosemary Gammon and her husband, Thomas I. Gammon; two nephews, T. Stewart Gammon and his wife, Sharon; Brother Pio Maria E.C. of the Camaldolese Order in Bloomingdale, Ohio; two great-nieces, Ashlee Brooke and Heather Elizabeth Gammon. Mr. Fletcher was a partner of the Little Five Azalea Farm and a member of the Virginia Nursery Association and a graduate of Benedictine High School in 1954. His remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Central Chapel, 3801 Augusta Ave., where the family will receive friends Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and where a Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Benedict's Catholic Church with interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your favorite charity.

GARRETT
Margie Marie Garrett of Powhatan died May 18, 1997. She is survived by two daughters, Kathryn M. Garrett of Powhatan and Rosa W. Weller of Lynchburg; one son, James W. Woodson of Powhatan; one brother, Eddie Crouse of Richmond; one sister, Dorothy Fry of Missouri; five grandchildren, Ann Marie, Jay, Paul and T.J. Woodson and Lee Weller. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight at the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy., Powhatan. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Powhatan. Interment church cemetery.

GENTRY
George W. (G.W.) Gentry, 52, of Midlothian, died Monday, May 19, 1997. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Chenault Gentry; a daughter, Crystal Gentry; son, Will Gentry; stepson, Travis Beattie; grandson, Eon Gentry; three sisters, Shelby Carter, Helen Hall and Phyllis Sager; three brothers, Edwin, Kenneth (Butch) and Dennis Gentry. Mr. Gentry was the owner and operator of G.W. Gentry Water Wells. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd., where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday. Interment Dale Memorial Park.

GILBERT
Lee Eugene Gilbert, 86, of Richmond, died May 17, 1997. He is survived by his wife, Jean Carney Gilbert; his children, Patricia Gilbert Jeffress and Lee Eugene Gilbert Jr.; grandchildren, Elizabeth Carney Jeffress and Jena Lee Gilbert; a sister, Virginia Gilbert Johns of St. Louis. Mr. Gilbert was retired from the State Corporation Commission as Supervisor of Refunds, Motor Carrier Taxation Division and was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church. Family will receive friends 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in River view Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tuckahoe Vol. Rescue Squad.

GIRARD
Arthur A. Girard, 92, formerly of North Adams, Massachusetts passed away May 16, 1997 in Richmond. He is survived by his sons, Arthur L. Girard of Richmond, Va. and Charles A. Girard of Danville, Ky. and his daughter, Lorraine A. Girard of Rockville, Md.; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, Erin, who brought great joy to his life. Services will be held Monday, May 19, 1997 at Notre Dame Church with burial to follow at Southview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to St. Paul's Catholic Church, 909 Rennie Ave., Richmond, Va. 23227.

GOODE
Mrs. Marie Goode of 4801 Springfield Rd., Richmond, formerly of New Jersey, entered eternal rest, May 16, 1997. She is survived by one daughter, Jacquelyn Townsend; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Jeffrey Drew; two sisters-in-law, Estelle Drew and Victoria Goode; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services Wednesday, May 21, 1 p.m. at the chapel of F.E. Dabney Funeral Home, Henry St., Ashland. Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery., Richmond. Service by the Dabneys Morticians.

GREEN
Marsha Anderson Green, 52, of Richmond, died Sunday, May 18, 1997. She is survived by her son, Warren Green; one brother, Gary D. Anderson; one grandson, Barry Aaseby. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Dale Memorial Park.

HAMILTON
Departed this life Saturday, May 17, 1997, Ms. Ethel Grady Hamilton of Richmond. She is survived by one brother, Johnnie L. Grady; one uncle, Johnnie Brown of Baltimore, Md.; two sisters-in-law, Eunice Alethia and Martha Grady, both of Richmond, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at the Mimms Funeral Home, 19th & Hull Sts., where funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 21, 11 a.m. Relatives and friends attending funeral service assemble at the funeral home Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.

Mr. Christopher Harris Sr., of 621 N. 33rd St., entered eternal rest May 16, 1997. He is survived by two sons, Christopher Jr., and Da'Nod Harris; mother, Regina Pircy; three brothers, one stepsister; a devoted friend, Etheleen Morris; a host of other relatives and friends. Departed this life May 16, 1997, Mrs. Mattie Magdalene Howell of 511 N. 32nd St. She is survived by two sons, Charles Wyatt Howell Jr. and Richard C. Howell; two daughters, Rosa H. Monroe of Staten Island, N.Y. and Joan H. Glass; 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, one great-great- grandson, several nieces and nephews; three daughters-in-law, Charlene T. Howell, Ethel H. Howell and Carlease S. Howell; one son-in- law, Nathan Monroe; one brother-in- law, Ernest Jeffries; other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 N. 25th St. Remains will lie in state Wednesday, 12 Noon at Fourth Baptist Church, where funeral services will be held Wednesday, 1 p.m. Dr. Leonidas Young II officiating, assisted by Dr. Robert L. HUNTER
Rebecca K. Hunter, 57, of Vero Beach, Florida, died May 17, 1997. She was a resident nurse and a graduate of Grace Hospital Nursing School in Richmond, Virginia. Surviving are her daughter, Carolyn Hunter; a son, Greg Hunter, both of Jacksonville, Florida; two brothers, Wilbur Lee King Jr., Murphy, North Carolina, Joseph D. Cheely, Richmond, Virginia and four grandchildren. A memorial service will be held today at 3 p.m. at Strunk Funeral Home Chapel, Vero Beach. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation, 3440 Hollywood Blvd., Suite 100, Hollywood, Florida 33021 in Mrs. Hunter's memory.

Virginia (Louise) Archer Jones, 89, of Richmond, died May 17, 1997. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Cornelius A. Jones. She is survived by a daughter, Imogene Branch; son-in-law, Reuben Branch; six grandchildren, Therese Purnell, Nathaniel Gibbon, Lynette Allen (caretaker), David Branch, Tara Morris and Tonya Jones; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great- grandchild; one devoted niece, Margarita F. Austin; and one devoted great-niece, Teri M. Jones; other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd., where funeral services will be held Thursday, May 22 at 1 p.m. Rev. Kirkland Walton officiating. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

LOVING
Charles William Loving of Mechanicsville, died May 18, 1997. He was a retired Philip Morris employee. He is survived by his children, Connie L. Roberson, Charles Dean Loving, Jeffrey Bryant Loving Sr. and Mark Roy Loving; nine grandchildren; brothers, Davis Loving and Pete Loving; sisters, Margaret Parker, Kitty Courtney, Dorothy Seal and Pearl Tignor. The family will receive friends 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tues day at the Mechanicsville Chapel, of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee Davis Rd. where services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 21. Mrs. Bettie Jo Leslie Marcus, 58, of Prince George, died Monday, May 19, 1997. Mrs. Marcus was an elementary teacher, with the Prince George County School System in Virginia for 24 years. Survivors include her husband, Marshall H. Marcus Jr., her daughter, Mary Jean Marcus, both of Prince George; two nieces, Cheryl Vasser, Lexington, Ky. and Sandra Studer, Knoxville, Tenn.; nephews, James and Edward Vasser, both of Frankfort, Ky. A memorial service will be conducted Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at the Westover Parrish Church, Charles City County. Memorial gifts may be made to the Southside Regional Cancer Center, c/o Southside Regional Hospital.

MCINTYRE
Stanley Lee McIntyre, 63, of Richmond, died May 18, 1997. survived by one son; Stanley McIntyre Jr.; two daughters, Teresa and Pauline McIntyre; three brothers, Paul, Ralph and Charles McIntyre; eight sisters, Betty, Ruth, Lorraine, Peggy, Barbara, Nena, Gloria and Darline. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Riverview Cemetery.
