BAGLEY
Louise Bourne Bagley, 91, of Richmond passed away October 7, 1999. She was the widow of a former mayor of Richmond, Phil J. Bagley Jr. She is survived by a son and his wife, Philip J. Bagley III and Sally T. Bagley; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Bourne Faulkner Bagley and Anne Tunstall Twedell Bagley; and one brother, Thomas J. Bourne Jr. A graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday at the Mausoleum at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association of Virginia. Arrangements by the Bliley Funeral Home’s Central Chapel.

BOGGS
John Thomas Boggs, 86, of Glen Allen died October 8, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Cora S. Boggs; daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Robert McAlister; four stepchildren; five grandchildren; five gr eat-grandchildren. Mr. Boggs was a retired employee of American Tobacco Company. His remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home’s Staples Mill Chapel, 8510 Staples Mill Rd., where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Westhampton Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Glen Allen Free Will Baptist Church.

BROWN
Dianne Marie Andrzejewski Brown, age 38, of Richmond died Tuesday, October 5, 1999. She is survived by two sisters, Brenda Andrzejewski of Richmond and Joanne Brooks of Ashland; two aunts, Lillian Snipes of Ashland and Ethel Brock of Richmond. Her remains rest at K.L. Jordan Funeral Chapel, 5008 Nine Mile Rd., where visitation will be held Sunday 2 to 5 p.m., and where services will be held 10 a.m. Monday. Interment Roselawn Memory Gardens.

BROWN
Manly Brown Sr., the Village Blacksmith, age 93, of Lexington, Va., died Friday, October 8, 1999 in the Stonewall Jackson Hospital, Lexington. Mr. Brown was born May 26, 1906 in Lexington a son of the late Frank Brown and Willie Camden Brown. He worked and owned the Village Blacksmith Shop for over 78 years. He was also a member of Lexington Presbyterian Church, a life member of the Lexington Fire Department and a member of the Rockbridge Minute Men during World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Pauline Brown. Surviving are one daughter, Jackie B. Leslie of Lexington; two sons, Manly Brown Jr. of Midlothian and Frank Brown of Mt. Sidney; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted 4:30 p.m. Sunday, October 10, 1999 at the graveside in the Stonewall Jackson Cemetery. Dr. William Klein officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Memorials should be made to the Lexington Fire Department or the Lexington First Aid Crew. Arrangements by Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington, Va.

BRUNK
Robert K. "Pete" Brunk Jr., 72, of Chesterfield, died October 8, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy M. Brunk; sisters, Eliza Leslie, Edith Duncan, and Edna Hoback; brother, John Brunk. His re mains rest at Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10) where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Second Branch Baptist Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the church at 12217 Second Branch Rd., Chesterfield, Va. 23838.

DAHN
Inez Vial Dahn (Bruner), 91, of Mechanicsville passed away October 6, 1999. She was the widow of Lawrence G. Bruner and Preston V. Dahn. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Bettye B. and Robert P. Duggan of Mechanicsville; three granddaughters and their husbands, Marianne D. and Kenneth S. Cole, Linda D. and Charles W. McIntyre of Richmond and Teresa D. and J. Anthony Leahy of Dublin, Ireland; two great-grandchildren, Richie and Kendall Cole. She is also survived by three sisters, Virginia V. Tanner of Richmond, Alise V. Carter of Portsmouth and Eugenia V. Sprenkle of King William. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Church of the Redeemer, 8275 Meadowbridge Rd., Mechanicsville. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.

GAINES
Mary Kathryn Gaines of 723 East Gladstone Avenue, died October 5, 1999. She was preceded in death by two children, Gary A. Johnson and Jana D. Johnson. Surviving are two sons, Mark C. Johnson of Fredericksburg, Va. and Dana W. Johnson of Fort Washington, Md.; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara L. Terry and Jane E. Carey; three brothers, Herman S., Jr., William H. and Jonathan V. Gaines; a hosts of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Her remains rest at Scott’s Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd. After 10 a.m. today, remains will rest in Manna Christian Church Fellowship, 6851 S. Laburnum Ave., where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery.

HAMM
Richard (Dick) L. Hamm, age 79, of Richmond died Friday, October 8, 1999. He is survived by his wife, F. Catherine Hamm; a daughter, Jackie M. Atkinson and her husband, David L. Atkinson; three sisters , Virginia Moore and her husband, Warren of Port Charlotte, Fla., Helen Eggleston and her husband, James A. Eggleston of Richmond; and Patricia Bowen and her husband, Jesse Bowen of Richmond; two grandchildren, Larry (Speedy) N. Manning Jr. and Angela R. Atkinson. His remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home’s Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull St. Rd., where the family will receive friends 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday. Interment Dale Memorial Park.

KERSEY
Norma Jean Kersey, 65, of Richmond departed this life October 8, 1999. She is survived by her husband, Paul D. Kersey, Jr. and her two sons, Steve and Derek; a brother, James N. Carr Jr.; two sisters, Janet Alexander of Richmond and JoAnne Nardone of Taylor, Mich.; many nephews and their wives; other relatives and many friends. Remains rest at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave. Funeral notice later.

Mr. Willie M. Lewis Sr. departed this life Wednesday, October 6, 1999 at his residence. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, LaVinia P. Lewis; two daughters, Carolyn Allmon (Haywood) and Patricia Mills (George); one son, Willie M. Lewis Jr. of Hampden, Maine; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Andrew Lewis Jr.; two sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Remains rest at the Mimms Funeral Home, 19th and Hull Sts., where funeral services wil be held Saturday (today) 12:30 p.m. Dr. Herbert R. Plummer officiating. Interment in Riverview Cemetery. Relatives and friends attending funeral services assemble at the funeral home (today) 12 p.m.

LOVING
John Garnett Loving, 54, of Champlain died Friday, October 8, 1999 at his residence. He retired from the County of Henrico and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Sandra L. Loving; three children, Lisa DeWitt and her husband, Brydon of Richmond, John Michael Loving and his wife, Amy and Laurie B. Loving, all of Champlain; his grandsons, Brydon John DeWitt and Stephen Loving; a brother, Hiter R. Loving of Champlain; and a sister, Doris Sims of Farmville. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday in the Marks-Bristow Funeral Home. Interment Upper King and Queen Baptist Church Cemetery. Louise Ellington Parrish, 79, of Chesterfield died October 7, 1999. She was the widow of Douglas K. Parrish; and is survived by her son, Wayne K. Parrish; granddaughter, Megan C. Parrish; sisters, Lillian Beber and Mildred Ellington; brother, William Ellington. Her remains rest at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10), where the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday. Her funeral service will be held graveside at Forest Lawn Cemetery on Sunday at 2 p.m.

POTTER
Lois J. Potter, age 77, of Urbanna, widow of Col. Dwight H. Potter, died Thursday, October 7, 1999. She was a native of Ohio and is survived by three daughters, Patricia A. Saad of Columbus, Ohio, Na ncy L. Potter, Jane P. Palma, both of Richmond; three grandchildren; two sisters; and three brothers. Graveside funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday (today) in Middlesex Memorial Cemetery, Urbanna. Memorial gifts may be made to a favorite charity. Arrangements by Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home, Saluda.

RALSTON
Dorothea A. Ralston, 96, will be laid to rest today, October 9, 1999. Miss Ralston, a native of Richmond, was born May 1, 1903. She is survived by one nephew, Woodson Ralston of Gafney, N.C.; three nieces, Betty R. Moore of Raleigh, N.C.; Sally M. Thwing of Canton, Mass.; and Jo Wildman of Newport News, Va.; a cousin, Evelyn Wiley of Birmingham, Ala. Miss Ralston was a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church where she was a member of the choir and was the secretary for Virginia Manufacturers Association. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church.

WARD
Ruby Vassar Ward, age 78, of Keysville, died Thursday, October 7, 1999. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty W. and "June" Dix, Judy and Wayne Tanner; three grandchildren, Mark C. "Boo" Di x, Terri Tanner, and Kandy Tanner, all of Keysville; one sister, Doris V. Wallace, of Drakes Branch. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 10, 1999, at the Browning Funeral Home, with interment in Ontario Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, October 9, at the funeral home.

WATSON
Mrs. Annie Bell Watson, age 63, of Goochland, Va., departed this life Friday, October 8, 1999. Remains rest at the Robert Mealy Funeral Home, Goochland. Funeral notice later.

WHITEHEAD
Fenton L. Whitehead "Pappy" of Charles City, entered eternal rest October 7, 1999. He was retired from Stone Container after 17 years. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Vernell. Survivors are three daughters, Jacqueline Davis (Isaiah), Katrina, and Sheryl Whitehead; four sons, Spencer (Catherine), Carl, Bert (Wanda), and Paulas. Also survived by five sisters, one devoted, Phyllis Charity; and one brother; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; ex-wife, Viola Whitehead; numerous other relatives and friends. Remains rest at J. Leroy Charity Funeral Home, Charles City. Services 3 p.m. Sunday at St. John Baptist Church. Rev. Eddie L. Perry officiating. Interment church cemetery. WRIGHT
Joy Rasmussen Wright, 55, died October 7, 1999. She is survived by her children, Karen Briggs Walker, April Downs Fowler, Allen Briggs, Mark Briggs, John Downs, James Downs Jr.; her mother, Mildred Galante; brother, John Rasmussen; sisters, Barbara Cofield, Sue Ellen Hudson and Carolyn Rasmussen; twelve grandchildren; and ex-husband, James Downs Sr. The family will receive friends at Gould's Funeral Home on Sunday, October 10, 1999 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Service at Gould's Monday, October 11, 11 a.m. with interment following.

Deaconness Dora C. Young (Coppedge) of 2515 Pompey Springs Rd., departed this life Friday, October 8, 1999. She was a retired Defense General Supply employee. Remains rest at the Mimms Funeral Home, 19th and Hull Sts. Funeral notice later.
