Edgar H. Johnson, age 55, of King William, departed his life on June 15, 1997.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl Johnson; two sons, Edgar Jr., and Shawn Johnson, of King William.
Remains rest at the B. W. White Funeral Home, King William Courthouse, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
Service 2 p.m. Friday at Third Union Baptist Church.

LACKS

Maggie Bell Lacks, of Richmond, died Tuesday, June 17, 1997.
Her remains rest at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave. Funeral notice later.

MIDDLETON

Mr. Alfred Middleton Jr. of 121 W. 24th St. entered eternal rest June 15, 1997.

MONROE

James E. Monroe Sr. of 1621 Littleton Blvd., departed this life June 14, 1997.
Surviving are his wife, Sarah J. Monroe; two daughters, Marlene Fowler and Shari Johnson; a son, James E. Monroe Jr.; a stepson, Michael D. Jackson; six grandchildren, Charlene Kersey, Marvin Jr., and Dr. Ricky Monroe, Renee Fowler, Tiffany and Warren Satchell; one step-grandchild, Dante Jackson; four great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Carrie Robinson; one daughter-in-law, Lois Monroe; one son-in-law, Walter L. Johnson; two brothers-in-law; two sisters- in-law, nine nieces, three nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd.
After 11 a.m. Thursday, remains will rest in Zion Baptist Church, 2006 Decatur St., where funeral service will be held at 12 noon.
Dr. Robert Pettus officiating.
Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery.

MUNCY

Archie B. Muncy, 61, of Powhatan, died June 17, 1997.
He was the son of the late Melvina and Johnny Muncy and was preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas and Benton Fife.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline (Polly) Muncy; a brother, James Fife; two sisters, Helen Burkett and Ruby Blevins.
Mr. Muncy was a member of Iaeger Lodge #148 AF&AM and the General Manager of Town & Country Grocery Stores.
The family will receive friends 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Rd., followed by a memorial service at 7 p.m. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

PIKE

Warren Pike, 75, died June 17, 1997, at his home in Ashland.
Mr. Pike was a professional sign painter and an Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian C. Pike; his daughters, Linda L. Pike and Shirley P. DeBord, both of Richmond; his son, Joseph R. Pike of Ashland; two grandchildren, Zachary and Cameron DeBord; two sisters and one brother, Dot Simmons, Mae Howard and John Pike, all of Mt. Airy, N.C.
The family will receive friends Wednesday 4 to 6 p.m. in the Reid Funeral Home, 412 S. Washington Highway, Ashland, where a memorial service will be held at 7 p.m.
Interment services will be private.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church-Ashland Building Fund, 800 Thompson St., Ashland, Va. 23005; or the Ashland Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 545, Ashland, Va. 23005.

REGAN

M. John Regan, 59, of Chesterfield County, owner of Johnny's Plumbing, died Monday, June 16, 1997.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sandra P. Regan; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Monty J. of Lincoln, Neb., D. Henry and Miriam B. Regan of Chesterfield; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon R. and Ernest Chancellor of Moseley, Va.; mother, Leola C. Regan of Chesterfield; four brothers, James H., Frank H. of Richmond, Linwood B. of Poquoson and S. Gene Regan of Chester; sister, Delores R. Hardy of Richmond; seven grandchildren, Heather, Buddy, Aaron, Jessica, Sandra, Regan and Cody; also other family and close friends; foster daughter, Loriene Ramsey; foster granddaughters, Vicki and Sara; also Carl Cruise and Henry Thomas.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Assembly of God.
Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Trinity Assembly of God Youth Group.

ROLISON-GROOMS

Departed this life June 15, 1997, baby girl, Jasmine Nicole Rolison.
She is survived by her devoted mother, Argarita Rolison; loving father, Johnny Grooms, Jr.; maternal grandmother, Annie Mae Rolison; paternal grandparents, Evelyn and Johnny Groom, Sr., both of Louisa; great-grandparents, Mary and Thomas Mallory, Montpelier; four uncles, Emmett and Reginald Rolison, Sr., Jonathan and Jovan Grooms; two aunts, Cynthia Rolison and Teresa Grooms; godparents, Stacey Harris and Blanch Oliver, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Remains rest at Chiles Funeral Home, 2100 Fairmount Ave.
Graveside service will be conducted Thursday, 2 p.m.
Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery (Montpelier).
Rev. Evans C. White officiating.
Family and friends kindly assemble at the cemetery 1:45 p.m.

ROSE

Carlton C. (Pee Wee) Rose, 66, of Chesterfield, passed away June 17, 1997.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Sellars Rose; two sons and their wives, Joseph C. and Gloria Rose, Jeffrey P. and Cheryl Rose; two daughters and their husbands, Jeri and Timmy Edwards, Joanie and Chip Burnham; one brother, Frank E. Rose Jr.; two sisters, Virginia Fletcher and Gloria Hall; and nine grandchildren.
Mr. Rose was a retiree of Philip Morris.
His remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Road.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Central Baptist Church.
Interment Dale Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to Manchester Rescue Squad.

TODD

Elizabeth New Todd, 86, of Richmond, died June 16, 1997, following a long illness.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, William P. Todd; two daughters, Elizabeth T. Hermann and Martha T. Gunter; also six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Laburnum Chapel Woody Funeral Home, 2110 E. Laburnum Avenue.
Graveside services will be held Thursday 10 a.m. Oakwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, Va. 23060.

WASHER

Roy J. Washer, 76, a resident of Virginia Veterans Care Center, Salem, Va., died Saturday, June 14, 1997.
Formerly of Gloucester Point, Va., he was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Dennis Washer; parents, Louis and Edna Washer; and a brother, Louis Washer Jr.
Mr. Washer graduated from the University of Richmond in 1942 and enlisted in the Navy.
He participated in the invasions of North Africa and Italy.
He was also a veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He retired from the Virginia Institute of Marine Sciences, Gloucester Point, Va.
Surviving are his son, Thomas Eugene Washer and wife, Kathleen, of Palmer, Alaska; brother, Norman C. Washer of Roanoke, Va.; three grandsons; one nephew and one niece.
A Memorial Service will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 1997, at Bethany United Methodist Church, Gloucester Point, Va., by the Rev. H. Braxton Allport.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Abingdon Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 247, Gloucester Point, Va. 23062.

Mr. Elbert Washington of 3935 Chamberlayne Ave. entered eternal rest June 14, 1997.
Cherishing his memory are his mother, Maude; five brothers; four sisters; two sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; godfather, Willie Smith; other relatives and friends.
His remains will lie in state Thursday, 10 a.m., at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 216 W. Leigh St., where a Eulogistic service will be conducted at 11 a.m.

WEBB

Gladys R. Webb, 67, of Goochland, retired nurse at the Richmond Eye Hospital, died June 16, 1997.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, H. T. Webb; two daughters, Rebecca Webb Blackburn of Richmond, and Linda Kay Daniels of Newland, N.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Katherine Ayers of Baltimore, Md., and Mrs. Helen Embler of Lenoir, N.C.; two grandchildren, Timothy and Kim; one great grandchild, Megan.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, 1 p.m., Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

WHITAKER

Louise Mann Whitaker, 82, of Amelia on June 17, 1997.
She is survived by her son, Thomas D. Whitaker and daughter-in-law, Patsy M. Whitaker of Amelia; daughter, Barbara Y. Skipper and son-in-law, Billy Skipper of Moseley; grandchildren, Bobbie J. Whitaker, Linda Clark, and Brenda Huband; great-grandchildren, Jennifer Mangigian, Sam Clark and Brooke Huband; sister, Marjorie M. Wilson of Amelia. Funeral services Thursday 2 p.m. at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home with burial following in Sandy Creek Baptist Cemetery.
Visiting at the funeral home 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday.

WILCOX

Barbara Cabell Wilcox, 75, of Wingina, died Thursday, June 12, 1997 at her residence.
Born October 5, 1921 at Richmond, Va., she was a daughter of the late Phillip and Barbara Cabell and a granddaughter of the late Hartwell Cabell of Edgewood in Nelson Co.
Twice married, first in 1941 to Lieutenant (J.G.) William F. Smith, who was killed in World War II and in 1947 to Ormonde Butler Matier Wilcox who died in 1995.
She is survived by a son, Miner Washburn Matier Wilcox of Charlottesville; a daughter, Cabell Smith Tower of Pacific Palisades, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
A service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in Christ Church Glendower at Keene, Virginia, with the Rev. Edwin Pippin officiating.
The family suggests that memorials take the form of contributions to the Nelson County Rescue Squad at Faber, Virginia 22938.
