Lafayette Scott "Johnny" Crabtree, Sr, 68, of Milford died Wednesday, February 25, 2004 at Bowling Green Health Care Center.
Mr. Crabtree was the owner of Crabtree's Body Shop and Service Center for 30 years, was a member of Milford Presbyterian Church and had served in the Virginia National Guard. He had retired from VDOT.
Survivors include his wife, Hilda C. Crabtree; five children, Lafayette Scott Crabtree, Jr., Eunice C. Key, Cynthia C. Fields, Tammy E. Barlow and Ralph R. Crabtree; two stepchildren, Richard Keith Gouldin and Wendy Verne; a sister, June Smallwood; two brothers, Gary Crabtree and Seth Crabtree; 17 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 28, at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green with the Rev. Dave Baker and Randall Clow officiating. Burial will follow in Lakewood cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27 at the funeral home.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Marjorie Cramer, 9345 Canvasback Court, Port Royal, Virginia 22535.

Kathleen Rhodes Coleman, 83, of Milford, died February 24, 2004 at her home. She was the widow of Dick Coleman, a member of Milford Presbyterian Church and had retired after 25 years from FMC.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Edith and Don Clark of Georgia; two granddaughters and three great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, February 28 at 11:00 AM in Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green with burial to follow in Greenlawn cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Friday, 6;00 - 8:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Milford Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 96, Milford, Virginia 22514.

Maude M. Long, 77, of Woodford died Thursday, February 12, 2004 at her home.
Survivors include five children, Linda Smith of Caroline, Joanne Fugett of Richmond, Patsy Howell of Caroline, Lavon Baird of Locust Grove and Labon F. Long, Jr. of Caroline; five sisters, Betty Anderson of Spotsylvania, Virginia Rowland of Caroline, Dorothy Wax of Spotsylvania, Ruth Blake and Mary Shelton both of Caroline; a brother, Lewis Martin of Caroline; sixteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
A funeral will be held Saturday, Feburary 14 at 2:00 PM in Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green with burial in Greenlawn cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday 7:00 - 9:00 PM.

Ivy T. Carneal, 97, of Ruther Glen, died Monday, February 2, 2004. Born in Caroline County, she was the oldest living member of Ladysmith Baptist Church, where she was active in the WMU. She was also a member of the Ladysmith Rescue Squad Auxillary. She was the widow of Joseph E. Carneal, a lifelong homemaker and devoted mother and grandmother.
Survivors include two daughters, Ruth Satterwhite of Ruther Glen and Agnes Carroll of Fredericksburg; an adopted sister, Earle Gayle of Ruther Glen; ten grandchildren; one step granddaughter; nineteen great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren and seventeen great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three children, Lewis, Hilda and Garnett Carneal.
A funeral will be held Thursday, February 5 at 2:00 PM in Ladysmith Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Carmel Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, Wednesday, 6:00- 8:30 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Carmel Baptist Church cemetery Fund.

Kathleen Cain Wright, 98, of Bowling Green, died Sunday, January 25, 2004 in Mary Washington Hospital. She was the widow of Otho Wright and was an active member of Bowling Green Baptist Church where she served as the choir mother for many years.
Survivors include five children; Earl E. Eidecker of Arizona, Marvin Wright of Bowling Green, F. Wayne Wright of Richmond, Dare Wright of Bowling Green and Faye Bryant of Spotsylvania; sixteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, February 1 at 2:00 PM in Bowling Green Baptist Church, with Rev. Kevin Moen and Rev. Eric Goforth officiating. Burial will follow in Lakewood cemetery. The family will receive friends at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, Saturday 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bowling Green Baptist Building Fund, Box 543, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427 or to the Bowling Green Rescue Squad, Box 621, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427.

Oakland Marshall, 68, of Woodford, died Sunday, January 25, 2004 at Mary Washington Hospital. Born in Caroline County, he had retired from VDOT in Ladysmith.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia J. Marshall; three daughters, Joyce Hamm, Donna Martin and Crystal Martin all of Woodford; a brother, Broaddus Stanley of Spotsylvania; six grandchildren and one great grandson.
A funeral service will be held Friday, January 30 at 11:00 AM in Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, with Pastor Mac McDowell officiating. Burial will follow in Bethany Baptist Church cemetery, Woodford. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday 6:00 - 8:00 PM.

Nettie V. Satterwhite, 68, of Beaverdam died Saturday, January 24, 2004, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Born in Texas, she was a former employee at Paramount Kings Dominion and devoted her life to her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include five children, Wesley D. Satterwhite of Lynchburg, Debbie K. Wright and Teresa S. White, both of Ruther Glen, John P. Satterwhite of Chilesburg Nancy S. Goodman of Partlow; one sister, Patricia Smith of Texas; three brothers, Haskell and Dean Pricer of Texas and Thurman Pricer of Arkansas; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grand children.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, January 28, 2004 at County Line Baptist Church, Ruther Glen with Rev. Fred Skaggs officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green from 6 to 8PM Tuesday.

Welford L. "Dee" Beasley, Sr. 73, of Woodford died Sunday, January 11, 2004, at Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and had retired as a linesman for Rappahannock Electric Co-op after 47 years.
He is survived by three daughters, Barbara B. Pitts of Milford, Sharon B. Noszek of Ruther Glen and Brandy R. Beasley of Ashland; two sons, Welford L Beasley, Jr. of Beaverdam and Brian C. Beasley of Spotsylvania; a brother, Webb Beasley of Milford; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, with Tommy Satterwhite officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 13, at the funeral home.

Annie M. Cecil, 86, of Milford, died Tuesday, January 6, 2004 at Bowling Green Health Care Center. She was a member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church and the widow of B. Stuart Cecil.
She is survived by five sons, B. Stuart Cecil, Jr and Richard T. Cecil, both of Bowling Green, J. Milton Cecil and Billy W. Cecil, both of Milford and Joseph L."Dick" Cecil of Spotsylvania; three daughters, Marjorie Cecil of Glen Allen, Jean C. Beasley and Mary C. Shook, both of Milford; eleven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 2004 in the chapel of Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green with Rev.Kevin James officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hermon Baptist Church cemetery in Shumansville. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to Bowling Green Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 621, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427, Mary Washington Hospice, 2300 Fall Hill Avenue, Fredericksburg, Virginia 22401, or Hanover ARC, P.O. Box 91, Ashland, Virginia 23005.

Charles M. Hoffman, 29, of Bowling Green died in an ATV accident Thursday, January 1, 2004.
Survivors include his fiancee, Traci Taylor of Bowling Green, three children, Matthew Hoffman of Florida, Kalab Hoffman of Bowling Green and Trevor Taylor of Bowling Green; his father, Charles Douglas Hoffman of Spotsylvania, his mother, Janis Hoffman of Richmond; and two brothers, Michael and Philip Hoffman.
The body was cremated. A private memorial will be held at a later date.

Ruth D. Fortune, 79, died Friday, December 26, 2003 in Bowling Green Health Care Center. A lifelong resident of Caroline County, she was a member of the Rappahannock Indian Baptist Church in Beazley, Virginia.
Survivors include her brothers, Elmer P. Fortune and Russell C. Fortune both of Caroline; a sister, Yvonne B. Kozlow of Lakeland, FL; a sister-in-law, Cleo Fortune of Caroline and numerous nieces and nephews including her oldest, William K. Fortune of Fredericksburg, who was her caretaker for many years and whom she loved and treated as a son.
A memorial will be held Tuesday, December 30 at 7:00 PM in the chapel of Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, with Rev. David Reece officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 31 at 11:00 AM in Rappahannock Indian Baptist Church, with Rev. Clayton Custalow officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Dorothy H. Dunnington, 95, of Bowling Green died Friday, December 26, 2003 at Bowling Green Health Care Center.
Mrs. Dunnington was the widow of Harry P. Dunnington, who was a former treasurer of Caroline County. She was the last of 13 children of Henry T.S. and Mary Wilson Hardy.
She is survived by one son and his wife, T. Hardy and Lee Dunnington; one grandson, Tom Dunnington of Bowling Green; one granddaughter, Anne Hunter Dunnington of Raleigh, NC; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held at 11 am Monday, December 29, at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, with the Rev. Kevin Moen officiating. Burial will follow in Lakewood cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, December 28.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bowling Green Baptist Church Building Fund, Box 543, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427.

Wray Farmer Blanton, 82, of Myrtle Beach, SC formerly of Caroline County, died Thursday, December 25, 2003 at the home of her daughter in Alpharetta, GA. Born in Richmond, she was the widow of Thomas Aubrey Blanton and had retired from Ft. A.P. Hill.
Survivors include three children, Linda Haney of Springfield, Rebecca Egan of Alpharetta, GA and Thomas Wray Blanton of Bowling Green; a brother, James W. Farmer, Sr. of Bowling Green and six grandchildren.
A funeral sevice will be held Tuesday, December 30th at 2:00 PM in Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, with Rev. Kevin James officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday 7:00 - 9:00 PM.

Pastor Edward Barnett Frye, 54, of Ruther Glen died Wednesday, December 24, 2003 at Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center, Mechanicsville.
He was pastor of Caroline Christian Center in Ruther Glen and president of Ace Rebuilders in Ashland.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Virginia Wiseman Frye; two sons, Timothy Frye and his wife, Kim, and Scott Frye and his wife, Merry, all of Ruther Glen; two sisters, Linda Sheets of Glade Springs and Carole Barrett of Saltville; seven brothers, Eugene Frye of Florida, Ronald Frye of Nebraska, Danny Frye of Bristol, Jeff Frye of Tennessee, D. L. Frye of Louisiana and Bernard Frye, both of Saltville; two brothers-in-law, David and Bruce Wiseman, both of Roanoke; two grandsons, Ryan and T.J.; and two granddaughters, Tara and Kamron.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green. Burial will follow in Lakewood cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm Saturday, Dec. 27 at the funeral home.

Thomas Hugh Boulware, 76, of Milford, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003 at Bowling Green Health Care Center
He was a member of Milford Presbyterian Church and had worked at Blatt Chevrolet and Al Collins Chevrolet. He was a U. S. Navy veteran during the Korean War and had retired as a mechanic from Fort A. P. Hill after 23 years.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn C. Boulware; a daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Tom Payne of Fairfax; a sister, Mattie B. Esposito of San Diego, CA; and three granddaughters, Stephanie Leigh Payne, Angela Michelle Payne, and Caroline Austin Payne.
A funeral service will be held 2 PM Saturday, December 27 in the chapel of Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green with Pastor Dave Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn cemetery.
The family will receive friends 7-9 PM Friday at the funeral home. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Milford Presbyterian Church, P. O. Box 96, Milford, VA. 22514.
