A. Mark Whittaker, 45, of Florida, formerly of Ruther Glen, died Friday, May 13, 2005 in Florida.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Irene and John Loving; his stepmother, Cynthia Whittaker; five brothers, Wilbert L., Jr., Dennis, Christopher, Timothy and Matthew Whittaker; two sisters, Lois Smith and Donna Faye Light; and a special friend, Joanne Verdi. He was preceded in death by his father, Wilbert L. "Rottie" Whittaker, Sr.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 15, in Mount Vernon United Methodist Church cemetery, Ruther Glen.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to Frog Level Volunteer Rescue Squad, 29415 Richmond Turnpike, Ruther Glen, Virginia 22546 or Mount Vernon UMC, 21075 Frog Level Road, Ruther Glen, VIrginia 22546.

Emma A. Cocke, 92, of Caroline County died Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at her home, Rock Stop Farm.
Mrs. Cocke was born in The Hague, Netherlands. She survived the Nazi occupation of northern Holland for five years. She came to the United States immediately after World War II.She was preceded in death by her late husband, retired U.S. Army Col. Philip St. G.Cocke, IV and her daughter, Emma E. Luckenbach.
Mrs. Cocke was fluent in several languages and a supporter of the English standard in the United States. She was a lover of nature and the environment. She also was an avid hunter and fisher and a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Port Royal.
Survivors include four sons, Henri P. Eschauzier of New York City, Robert Eschauzier of Chicago, Illinois, Philip St. G. Cocke, V of New York City and John R. Cocke of Rappahannock Academy; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 14, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, with the Rev. John Wall officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Grace Episcopal Church cemetery, Bremo Bluff.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peter's Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 399, Port Royal, Virginia 22535 or Grace Episcopal Church.

Nora Jean Ayers, 58, of Woodford, died Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at her home.
Survivors include her husband, John Ayers; three children, James Ayers and William Ayers of Woodford and Cynthia Bonds of Arkansas; three brothers, Colton Elswick and James Elswick of Richmond and William "Butch" Puckett of North Carolina; four grandchildren, Coty and Jacob Ayers, Melissa Franklin and Kaycee Davis.
A funeral service will be Saturday, May 14 at 2:00 PM in Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, with Rev. Randy Newsome officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday 7:00-9:00 PM.

Michael Kulynych, 83, of Woodford, died Friday, May 6, 2005 at his home. He had retired after 35 years with FMC and had been a lifelong farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Helen C. Kulynych; four children, Daniel Kulynych of Woodford, Sam Kulynych of Carlisle, Arkansas, Joel Kulynych of Spotsylvania and Sissy Coleman of Ruther Glen; a sister, Olga Wenrich of Richmond; two brothers, Abraham Kulynych of' Montpelier and Steve Kulynych of New Bern, North Carolina; ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, Harry Kulynych.
A funeral service will be held Monday, May 9 at 2;00 PM in Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, with Rev. David Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Sunday 7:00 - 9:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Mary Washington Hospice, 2300 Fall Hill Avenue, Fredericksburg, Virginia 22401.

Rhoda D. Eubank, 69, of Ruther Glen, died Thursday, May 5, 2005 .
Survivors include her husband, Ralph Eubank; two daughters, Shirley Eubank of Ruther Glen and Rachel Hart of Woodford and her brother, Raymond Deardroff of Milford.
A funeral service will be held Monday, May 9 at 11:00 AM in Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, with burial to follow in Lakewood cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday one hour prior to the service.

Robert W. Floyd, 76, of Ladysmith died Wednesday, May 4, 2005 in Bowling Green Health Care Center.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita G. Floyd; five children, Robbyn Lynch of Ladysmith, Colmon Foster of Manassas, Don Foster of Boonesboro, Maryland, Jim Foster of Mt. Airy, Maryland and Ted Foster of Ladysmith; three brothers, William Floyd of Tarboro, North Carolina, Paul Floyd of Elmire, New York and Joseph Floyd of Scotland Neck, North Carolina; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 7 at 2:00 PM in Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, with Rev. Charles Tillapaugh officiating. Burial will follow in Wright's Chapel cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Friday, 1:00-3:00 and 6:00-9:00 PM.

Hazel Mills Prince, 90, of Ruther Glen died Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at her home. She was a lifelong resident of Caroline County and a member of Carmel Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Noel W. Prince ; her son and daughter-in- law, Paul and Carol Prince of Ruther Glen; six sisters, Kate Jordan of Fredericksburg, Evelyn Grunde of Baltimore, Viola Marshall of Spotsylvania County, Garnett Detamore and Helen Crittenden of Woodford and Russell Tignor of Ruther Glen; her granddaughter, Amy Philbrick of Midlothian; and her great-grandson, Wilson Philbrick.
A funeral service will be held Friday, May 6, at 2 p.m. at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, with the Rev. Steve Nelson and the Rev. Howard Satterwhite officiating. Burial will follow in Carmel Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Thursday, May 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Ladysmith Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 186, Ladysmith, Virginia 22501.

Wayne Vaughan Allen, 66, of Cedon, died Sunday, May 1, 2005 at his home. He was the son of the late Henry Ryland and Emma Vaughan Allen.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Alice Boutchyard Allen; his children, Trina Allen Tate and her husband, Ray, Teresa Vaughan Allen, and her husband, Richard Laibstain, Wayne Todd Allen and his wife, Brenda, Albert Earl Sharp and his wife, Beth and Ryland Troy Allen; his grandchildren, Brittany Nicole Hutchinson, Jake Bowles, Morgan Ashley Hutchinson, Austin Tyler Allen, Trevor Vaughan Allen and Caroline Custis Laibstain; his sister, Peggy Allen Hayes and her husband, Carl and many nieces and nephews.
He was a lifelong member of Bethany Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday, May 4, at 11:00 AM at Bethany Baptist Church, Woodford, with Rev. John Mann officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, Tuesday 6:30-8:30 PM. Lucy Pearl Baldwin, 87, of Shumansville, died Friday, April 15, 2005 in Richmond.
Survivors include three daughters, Erlene Swink of Glen Allen, Patsy Schools of Shumansville and Judy Jones of Doswell; a son, Luther Cecil of Ashland; a brother, Charlie Taylor of South Carolina; nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
A graveside funeral will be held Sunday at 3:30 PM in Mt. Hermon Baptist Church cemetery, Shumansville, with Rev. Rob Fox officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, 22370 Mattaponi Trail, Milford, Virginia 22514.

John L. Motley, Jr., 78, of Port Royal, died Thursday, April 14, 2005 at his home. He was a WWII Army veteran, a founding member of the Port Royal Fire Department and served as Mayor and councilman in Port Royal for over 30 years. He had recently retired from Farrish Printing, a business in Port Royal that was founded by his father-in-law in 1926 and he had operated since 1950.
Survivors include his wife, Vivian F. Motley; two sisters, Betty Craig of Rappahannock Academy and Nannie Mae Carter of King George and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be Sunday, April 17 at 2:00 PM in Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, with Rev. Dwight C. Storke officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn cemetery. Joseph R. Houston, 86, of Ruther Glen, died Friday, April 1, 2005 at his home. Born in Caroline, he was a WWII Army veteran, with the 513th Engineers, a lifelong farmer, an avid hunter and had retired from the excavation and construction business.
Survivors include his wife, Mabel K. Houston; two daughters, Gay Weston and her husband, Chuck of Prince George and Faye Giles and her husband, Jerry of Middlebrook; two sisters, Ethel Throckmorton of Richmond and Antionette Snipes of Ashland; six grandchildren, Chris Weston and his wife, Carrie of Chester, Angela, Julia and Dana Weston all of Prince George and Joseph and Emily Giles of Middlebrook; two great grandchildren, Connor and Camden Weston and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, April 3 at 2:00 PM in Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, with burial to follow in Carmel Baptist Church cemetery, Ruther Glen. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Saturday, 6:00-8:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ladysmith Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 186, Ladysmith, Virginia 22501.

Franklin Edward Burruss, 82, of Ruther Glen, died Thursday, March 31, 2005. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas N. Burruss, Jr. and his mother, Orine B. Burruss.
He is survived by his brother, Thomas N. Burruss, III and his sisters, Margaret B. Flowers, Helen B. Elliott and Winifred E. Burruss and nieces and nephews.
A private burial service will be held at Concord Baptist Church. Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Concord Baptist Church cemetery Fund.

Jack S. Evans, 58, of Ladysmith, died Sunday, March 27, 2005 at his home. Born in Fredericksburg, he had worked as a manager in the sign industry for over 30 years in Fredericksburg, Northern Virginia and Richmond. He was a member of Wright's Chapel United Methodist Church, a former youth soccer coach and an avid fisherman. He also attained the rank of SGT in the US Air Force and was a decorated veteran of the Viet Nam era.
Survivors include his wife, Linda N. Evans; his son, Jack Dylan Evans of Petersburg; two sisters, Renee Hairfield of Spotsylvania and Diane Patterson of Fredericksburg; two brothers, Larry Evans of Venice, Florida and Billy Evans of Fredericksburg; a sister-in-law, Nancy Flaherty of Sunset Beach, North Carolina and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 31 at 2:00 PM in Wright's Chapel United Methodist Church (I-95, exit 110), Ladysmith, with Rev. Charles Tillapaugh officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hanover Mental Health Assoc., 203 Taylor Street, Ashland, Virginia 23005.

Jerry L. Blankenship, 64, of Milford in Caroline County died Friday, March 25, 2005.
Survivors include his wife, Lyda Jeanette Blankenship.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, in Lakewood cemetery, Bowling Green. The family will receive friends from noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green.

Judith Andress Hoover, 58, of Ruther Glen died Saturday, March 26, 2005 at Henrico Doctors' Hospital, Richmond.
Born in Alexandria, she was a lifetime Episcopalian and a member of the Caroline Humane Society. She retired as a management assistant at Naval Surface Warfare Center in Dahlgren. She was preceded in death by her father, Carl R. Andress, Jr.
She is survived by her fiance, Gail G. Lux, Sr., her mother, Marie Andress of Ruther Glen; a sister, Loretta Goss of Ruther Glen, three children, Charles L. Hoover, Jr., Catherine M. Clements both of Ruther Glen, and Michael Hoover of Fredericksburg; four step children, Toni L.Magness and Penny M. Knupfer both of New York, Gail G. Lux, Jr. of Texas and Herbert W. Lux of Pennsylvania and 19 grandchildren, Lacy Kelley, Christine and Ryan Hoover, Kelsey Sickles, Kelsey and Travis Clements, Colleen and Logan Hoover, Ashley and Tanner Horner, Angelia, Katherine, Alexandra, Joseph, and Nickolas Lux, Angelia Hoover, Arianna and Darian Magness and John Lux.
A funeral service will be held 8:00 PM Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green. Burial will follow 12 Noon Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at Mount Comfort cemetery, Alexandria, Virginia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6-8 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to WJYJ Radio 90 Joy, 830 Gunnery Hill Road, Spotsylvania, Virginia 22553
