M.B. "Mack" Bivins Sr., 92, of Richmond, died at home on Tuesday, June 26, 2001. He had been an employee of Philip Morris for over 30 years and was a 50 year member of Washington and Henry Lodge No. 344 A.F.&A.M. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Katie S. Bivins; a son, M.B. Bivins Jr.; a daughter, Kathie B. Pollard; two grandchildren, M.B. "Bradley" Bivins III and R. Wesley Pollard; also three great-grandchildren. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee Davis Rd., where services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. Interment Dale Memorial Park.

BURNETT
Ethan Lucas Burnett, infant son of Andrew Thomas and Elizabeth Hodges Burnett, died Monday, June 25, 2001. In addition to his parents he is survived by his paternal grandparents, Andrew and Mary Burnett; maternal grandparents, Marilyn Kaye Bunn, John Thomas Hodges, and David Michael Norman; aunt, Kimberly Burnett; uncle, Thomas Burgess Hodges. Private funeral services.

George H. Burroughs Sr. of Richmond entered eternal rest June 24, 2001. Cherishing his memory are his wife, Rebecca Burroughs; two daughters, Marian Gross and Delcenia Washington; two sons, George Jr. and Irvin Burroughs; 21 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Billy Ray Capps Sr., 66, of Jetersville, died Wednesday, June 27, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Arlene Capps, two sons, Billy Jr. and his wife Kim, and Bobby Hayes and his wife Shelly; two daughters, Vickie Chapman and her husband Barry, and Shannon Anderson and her husband Buddy; two stepsons, Mike and Greg McDowell; one stepdaughter, Delores Soth; eight grandchildren, Trey Capps, Barry and Samantha Chapman, Robert and Tiara Hayes, Brittany Berg, Dylan Anderson and Ashley McDowell; five brothers and two sisters. His remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull St. Rd., where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and where services will be held 12:30 p.m. Friday. Interment Virginia Veteran's Cemetery, Amelia. Mr. Capps was a veteran of the Korean War and was a self-employed painting contractor.

CHAMBERLAYNE
Aubrey Gene Chamberlayne Jr., 67, of Kenbridge, Va., died June 26, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Virginia C. Chamberlayne; a daughter, Cheryl C. Barron of Henrico County; three sons and daughters-in-law, Ron G. Chamberlayne of Nottoway County, Dennis R. and Jessica Chamberlayne of Colorado, Steve W. and Sarah Chamberlayne of Richmond; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters and brother-in-law, Virginia R. Beale of Henrico County, Ann (Booley) and Sonny Sorrell of Henrico County; a brother and sister-in-law, Marshall and Gladys Chamberlayne of Henrico County; his mother-in-law, Grace W. Clements of Kenbridge. The family will receive friends Saturday 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Staples Funeral Home, Victoria, Va. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday 2 p.m. at Central Baptist Church, Victoria, with interment at Lakeview Cemetery in Victoria.

Edythe Heenan Day, 91, of Richmond, widow of Walter Heenan and John R. Day Jr., died Tuesday, June 26, 2001. She is survived by her son, Warren B. Heenan; a stepdaughter, Jane Earley; a stepson, John R. Day III; two grandchildren, Sarah M. Heenan and John C.B. Heenan; six stepgrandchildren; a devoted great-nephew and his wife, Ernest and Glenda Priddy; and a great-great-nephew, Michael Priddy. Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave., where services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make contriubtions to the Building Fund of Glen Allen Baptist Church or the Perpetual Care Fund of Kenwood United Methodist Church.

FUGATE
John L. (Jack) Fugate Sr., 60, of Richmond, son of the late John and Anna Fugate, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2001. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Judith Butler Fugate; a son, John L. Fugate Jr.; sister, Patricia F. Carrington; brother and his wife, George R. and Laurene Fugate; sister-in-law, Susan C. Butler; niece, Mary Beth Butler; nephew, Tripp and Shannon Butler and their daughter, Caroline. Mr. Fugate was a 1963 graduate of the University of Richmond receiving his masters in 1968. He was a member of the Phi Delta Theta. He began his teaching career at Bainbridge Junior High. He then went on to Lord Fairfax Community College in Winchester, Virginia before coming to J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College, where he taught English for 27 years until his death. Remains rest at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave., where the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. today. A service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Welborne United Methodist Church with interment to follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made, in lieu of flowers, to the Virginia Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of America, 2101 Executive Dr., Tower Box 21, Hampton, Virginia 23666.

GARDNER
Richard (Dick) Leo Gardner, of Richmond, died Tuesday, June 26, 2001 after a courageous battle with his illness. He was a member of P.V.A. Survivors include sons Gary A. Gardner and Eric R. Gardner, both of Northern Virginia; daughter Lauren Nelms and her husband Blan, Richmond; grandson Elijah Nelms; brothers Tom Gardner and his wife Joanne, Buffalo N.Y., Larry Gardner and his wife Donna, Stoughton, Wisconsin; niece Melissa Gardner; nephews Tom and David Gardner, Buffalo N.Y.; god-daughter Mallory Haydt; dear friend Jean Gardner, Manassas, Va.; and special friend Gail Richardson, Richmond. A Memorial service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday at Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Children's Make A Wish Foundation or P.V.A.

GREAME
Robert H. Greame, 87, of Midlothian, retired district manager with Westinghouse after 37 years of service, passed away June 27, 2001. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Annette P. Greame; two daughters, Sally Ferguson and her husband, Barry of Atlanta, Ga., Bonnie Matthews and her husband, James of Midlothian; two brothers, Willard Greame of Vestal, N.Y. and Walter Greame of Cape May Point, N.J.; also four grandchildren, Chip, Robert and Ashley Ferguson and Jamie Matthews. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Bon Air Presbyterian Church. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Bon Air Presbyterian Church Building Fund or the American Red Cross.

HANCOCK
Allen Woodrow Hancock, age 84, of Blacksburg (formerly of Richmond), passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at his home. He was born in Richmond, Va. on February 10, 1917 to the late, Frank and Elizabeth Hughes Hancock. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army. He retired from Dupont, Inc. after 51 years service, while with Dupont he served for 30 years as secretary of the Employee Credit Union. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Virginia; a son and daughter-in-law, Allen W. II and Elsa Hancock, Media, Pa.; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Randy Crockett, Blacksburg; a sister, Doris Mae Hancock (Lt. Cmdr. U.S. Navy, Retired), Richmond; and three beloved cats, Cuddles, Friskie, and Dixie. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 29, 2001 at 3 p.m. in the Centennial Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), McCoy, with Rev. Gordon Lee officiating. Interment will follow in the Centennial Christian Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund, Centennial Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), P.O. Box 427, McCoy, Va. 24111. Friends may call Thursday anytime after 12 noon and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.

JENNINGS
Dolly Payne Jennings died Wednesday, June 27, 2001. She is survived by her husband, Robert M. Jennings; her nieces, Katheryn Durrett, Julia Potter, Margaret Sacra, Mabel Garrison, Elizabeth Dickerson, Joyce Burgess and Doris Prichett; her nephews, Robert A. Osborne, Franklin Payne, Wade, Thomas and Sherman Luck. Mrs. Jennings was a member of Wallers Baptist Church in Partlow, Va. Remains rest at the Laburnum chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 2110 E. Laburnum Ave., where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Friday at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

JOYNER
Mr. Levern Joyner, age 70, died Tuesday morning, June 26, 2001 in John Randolph Medical Center. He was the son of the late John Oscar and Vera Sutton Joyner. Levern is survived by his wife of twenty-two years, Jean Race Joyner. Mr. Joyner was retired from Stone Container Co. with over thirty-seven years service and serviced in the U.S. Army. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Donna Joyner Tucker and husband, Scott, Terry Joyner Ingram and husband, Johnny, all of Chester, Karen Van Worth of Hopewell and Juli Layne and husband, Bruce of Chesapeake; three sons, David Levern Joyner and wife, Mary and Todd Allen Joyner and wife, Paige, all of Chester, Jay Trebisacci and wife, Lois of Westerly, R.I. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, June 28, 2001 at Gould Chapel, Nelsen Funeral Home, Hopewell, (804) 458-6377. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday at Nazareth Lutheran Church by Pastor Michael Kane, with interment in Bermuda Memorial Park. Gould Chapel, Nelsen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

LALIK
Henri Lalik of Mechanicsville died June 26, 2001. Born December 11, 1933. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Nejebe Shaar Lalik; three children and their spouses, Simone and Rick Pittman, Henri and Sharon Lalik, Marcel and Carrie Lalik; two grandchildren, Sierra Maree Lalik and Jason Pittman; one sister and her husband, Helene and Joseph Biagini. He was the son of Marcel and Francine Lalik of Joeuf, France. He served in the U.S. Army. There will be services at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Bon Secours Hospice Fund, 5875 Bremo Rd., Suite 710, Richmond, Va. 23226.

LENEAVE
James Norman Leneave III, age 40, passed away on Monday, June 25, 2001. A memorial service will be held for Jimmy on Thursday, June 28, 2001, at 2 p.m. Chester United Methodist Church, Percival Street, Chester. Funeral services will take place at Jefferson United Methodist Church, Jefferson St., Goldsboro, N.C. at 11 a.m. Friday, June 29, 2001 with interment in Fairview Cemetery, La Grange, N.C. Visitation will be held on Thursday night, June 28, 2001, 7 to 9 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home, La Grange, N.C. He is survived by his loving wife, Marina; and son, James "Jake" Norman Leneave IV; his parents, James N. and Leona V. Leneave; a sister and brother-in-law, Bethany L. and Jimmy Jones Jr.; nieces, Emily and Laura Jones; his paternal grandmother, Amey B. Leneave; and his maternal grandmother, Lucy M. Deal. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Herma Ferris and her companion, Dr. Jerry Ferguson; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rebecca and George Windom; nephews, Joshua and Nicholas Windom. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, James N. Leneave Sr. and his maternal grandfather, James Vinson. Jimmy was a devoted and loving son, husband, father and uncle. He had so many special friends and touched so many lives during his short time here. It was Jimmy's wish that in lieu of flowers, if anyone desires to do so, to make contributions to the ACRC Foundation, Attn: Mary Spann, 4301 W Markham St., Slot 623, Little Rock, Ark. 72205.

LINKINS
Departed this life June 27, 2001 in a Richmond hospital, Carol Germaine Linkins, age 62 of Hustle, Va. She is survived by her husband, James R. Linkins Sr.; two daughters, Terri B. Creasy of Dunbrooke, Julie R. Linkins of Fredericksburg; one son, James R. Linkins Jr. of Arlington; one siser, Kathleen L. Spindle of Hustle. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 30, 1 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Hustle. Karen Woodruff officiating. Arrangements by Washington Funeral Home, Tappahannock. In lieu of flowers, make contributions to Tappahannock Rescue Squad.

MELVIN
Frank L. Melvin Jr., 43, of 158 Paddock Ave., Meriden, Conn., husband of Barbara Melvin, passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2001 at Mid-State Medical Center. He was born April 24, 1958 in East Orange, New Jersey, a son of Annie L. (Hunter) Melvin and the late Frank L. Melvin Sr. He was a graduate of Florida A&M University and was employed as a computer consultant for Computer Sciences Corp. in Meriden. Besides his wife and mother, Frank is survived by one son, Frank "Tre" Peacock of Massachusetts; two stepsons, James Edward Miles III and his wife, Sue of Hinesville, Ga. and Timothy Emon Miles of Korea; two stepdaughters, Aletra C. Miles of Atlanta, Ga. and Michele G. Miles of Richmond, Va.; two brothers, Lenward I. Barber Sr. of Annapolis, Md. and Tony I. Melvin of Piscataway, N.J.; and two sisters, Cerestine L.M. Chisholm of Alexandria, Va. and Ruby D. Valentine of Lake in the Hills, Ill. He also leaves three grandchildren, Christopher J. Miles, Sean I. Taylor and Sasha Miles; as well as a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and a large extended family. A memorial service will take place at the Bible Way C.O.G.I.C. Church, 26 North Essex Ave., Orange, New Jersey on Saturday, June 30, 2001 at 3 p.m. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Szymaszek-Taylor Funeral Home, 189 East Main St., Meriden, Conn. In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank's memory may be made to the American Heart Association, Memorial Donations, 2250 Route 1, North Brunswick, N.J. 08902 or the National Kidney Foundation of Connecticut, 920 Farmington Ave., West Hartford, Conn. 06107.

Richard S. Neale, age 63, of West Point, died June 26, 2001. He is survived by a son, Richard Neale; and a grandson, Malik King; a brother, Larry W. Neale; a sister, Carrie N. Washington; a host of nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bethany Baptist Church, where services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday. Arrangements by B.W.
