COLLINS
James C. Collins, age 62, of Claremont, Va., passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Maxine M. Collins; son, Joseph P. Collins of Baltimore, Md.; sister, Cornelia December of Jacksonville, Fla.; three stepsons, Charles E., David A. and Dennis K. Upchurch, all of Richmond; two stepsisters and four stepbrothers. Also, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Road (Rt. 10), on Thursday, 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday at Merchants Hope Cemetery, Prince George, Va. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6359, Glen Allen, Va. 23058.

COURLY
Dorothy S. Courly, 80, of Colonial Heights, died Tuesday, June 12, 2001 at Chippenham Medical Center, Richmond. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late John I. Shotzberger and Alice McKenna Griffith, and the widow of George Courly. Mrs. Courly was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Richmond and also the Colonial Heights Garden Club. She is survived by a son, Richard P. Scott, Lt. Col., US Army (Ret.) of Krumm, Texas; a daughter, Suzanne L. Pryse, Lt. Col., US Air Force (Ret.) of Richmond; three brothers, Dr. Martin Luthor Shotzberger of Elon College, N.C., Edwin Shotzberger of Petersburg, and Charles Shotzberger of Maine; a sister, Marie Lacy of Falls Church, Va.; five grandchildren, David P. Scott of Dallas, Texas, Sondra L. Scott of Irving, Texas, Jennifer Hollingsworth of Powder Springs, Ga., Douglas Tower of Los Angeles, Calif. and Holly Tower of Colonial Heights; and three great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 16, 2001 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights. Reverend David May will officiate. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the time of service. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Andrews Episcopal Church, Richmond.

EATON
Departed this life June 13, 2001, Mrs. Sylvia D. Eaton of Richmond. Remains rest at Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 N. 25th St. Funeral notice later.

Departed this life June 13, 2001, Mr. James Eldridge of 2467 Drake St. Remains rest at Scott-Lightfoot Funeral Home 3021 'N' St. Services to be announced.

FONTAINE
Ronald Edward Fontaine, 69, of Ashland, passed away June 12, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Nell Fontaine; two sons, Kenneth and his wife, Kimberly and Wayne and his wife, Angela Marie Fontiane; one sister, Jeannie Hepner; two grandchildren, Jennifer Lang and her husband, David and Brandon Fontaine; two great-grandchildren and six stepgrandchildren. Remains rest at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee Davis Rd., where the family will receive friends Thursday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and where services will be held 2 p.m. Friday with burial in Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church Cemetery, In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Herman United Methodist Church, c/o Art Renner, 12443 Leonard Lane, Ashland, Va. 23005.

GENTRY
Mrs. Virginia Lynette Starke Gentry, 91, of Richmond, went home to be with the Lord June 13, 2001. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Landron E. Gentry. Lynette is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Joe Martin; daughter, Marie Moore; and son, James Gentry; foster daughter, Regina Nelson; and seven grandchildren, Amber Barts, Lynette and Jennifer Moore, Eddie Barton, Teresa Madden, Bobbie Jean Gentry and Lisa Ann Gentry; eight great-grandchildren. Her remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 p.m. Friday and where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday. Interment Dale Memorial Park.

HAGY
Mrs. Alice L. Hagy, 63, of Chesterfield, died Wednesday, June 13, 2001. She is survived by her husband, James L. Hagy Sr.; daughter, Pamela H. Strickland; four sons, James L. Hagy Jr., Ralph Allen Hagy, William J. Hagy and Ronald G. Hagy; 15 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; sister, Jody L. Hall; and brother, Pete Lucas. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in the Chesterfield Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 3050 W. Hundred Rd. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

HOOPER
Irene A. Hooper, 91, of Pasadena, Texas, died Tuesday, June 12, 2001. She is survived by three sons, Larrie Scott, Christopher Michael, and Anthony Orren Hooper; five grandchildren, Shelley Allen, Andrew Scott Hooper, Kimberly Hooper, Christopher Hooper, and Colin Hooper; one great-grandchild, Zachary Allen; and a beloved nephew, David Barksdale. Her family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd. Services and interment will be held in Pasadena, Texas. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Virginia.

HUDSON
William Henry "Yogi" Hudson of Richmond entered eternal rest June 9, 2001. Cherishing his memory are his children, Regina Sayles, Jackie Clark, Brenda Reynolds, Tarsha Mason, Gregory Hudson, Antione Hudson and DaTrell Wood; 12 grandchildren; one brother, Charlie Hudson; two sisters, Martha Lawrence and Henriette Hudson; three sons-in-law, Rickie Clark Sr., David Reynolds Jr. and Raymond Mason; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, two devoted, Belinda Hudson and Diane Woody. A eulogistic service will be conducted Friday, 1 p.m. at the All Faiths Chapel of the A.D. Price Funeral Establishment, 212 E. HUTCHINSON
David L. Hutchinson departed this life June 10, 2001. He is survived by his devoted mother, Rebecca Payne; son, Ira D.; three grandchildren; brother, Eddie; sister, Dorothy; sister-in-law, Ellen; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and friends, among them four devoted, Griff, Butch, Danny and Wiley. A memorial service will be held Friday 11 a.m. at the W.S. Watkins & Son Funeral Home, Rev. Earl M. Brown officiating. The family may be contacted at 344-8555. ISAAC
Oscar Isaac, 81, of Henrico, passed away June 12, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Arline C. Sidenberg Isaac; his children, Danny Isaac, Orit Shuster of Israel, Ramy Isaac of Connecticut; and three stepdaughters and their families; a brother, and two sisters, also eight grandchildren, eight stepgrandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was retired from Bear Island Paper Mill and a volunteer at the Science Museum of Virginia and the Virginia Museum. His remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Central Chapel, 3801 Augusta Ave., where funeral services will be held 12:30 p.m. on Thursday. Interment will be held 11 a.m Friday at Beth-Moses Cemetery, Long Island, N.Y.

JACKSON
Mrs. Ada Mae Jackson of Glen Allen, Va. departed this life Monday, June 11, 2001. She is survived by four children, Russell (Deborah) and Charles (Anna) Crewe Sr., Nactelre and Rodney Jackson; 15 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren; five brothers, Floyd Carlton, Beecher, Vernon and Ronald Crawley; one sister, Lillian Bradby; and a host of other relatives and friends. Remains rest at the Mimms Funeral Home, 19th and Hull Sts. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 15, 1 p.m. at Gilfield Baptist Church, Charles City, Va. Rev. Ronald C. Taylor officiating. Interment in the church cemetery. After 12 noon remains will rest in the above named church until hour of service. Relatives and friends attending funeral services assemble at the church Friday, 12:30 p.m.

KANE
Thomas J. Kane, 64, of Richmond, died Monday, June 11, 2001 at his residence. He is survived by his stepsons, Earl Junior Pitts of Tappahannock, Charles Douglas Pitts of Jackson Shrine and Elwood Pitts Sr. of Louisa; two sisters, Shirley Ancarrow and Jean Woodcock, both of Richmond; one brother, Courtney Kane of California; five grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday in the Marks-Bristow Funeral Home, Tappahannock. Interment Essex Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.

LIGON
Annie Davis Ligon, 91, widow of Adolphus Owen Ligon, died Wednesday, June 13, 2001 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center-North in Covington, Ky. Born October 18, 1909 in Mecklenburg County, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Lee Davis and Frances Ladd. A longtime resident of Clarksville, she married Adolphus on November 13, 1927. Annie was a member of the Clarksville Baptist Church and she worked for Burlington Industries for over 26 years. Services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the Clarksville Baptist Church with interment following at Oakhurst Cemetery in Clarksville. Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Jean L. "Baby Jean" and Herbert "Shag" Pierce of Florence, Ky. and Betsy L. "Boopie" and Calvin Miller of Richmond; sisters, Marjorie Holmes of Pawleys Island, S.C. and Frances Easley of South Hill; four grandchildren, Michelle Whitlock of Charlottesville, Jeanne Stephenson of Burlington, Ky., Lisa Ries of Walton, Ky. and John R. Miller II of Midlothian; seven great-grandchildren, John and Taylor Stephenson, Robby and Davis Ries, John R. Miller III, Christina Miller and Rachel Whitlock. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday evening at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home in Clarksville. Flowers acceptable or you may send a contribution to the Clarksville Fire Department or the Mecklenburg County Lifesaving and Rescue Squad.

MASON
Departed this life June 12, 2001, Thirling Primrose Mason. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helena Mason. He is survived by his son, Terrance Lancaster; several nieces, nephews and cousins; goddaughter, Rose M. Johnson and husband, Floyd Johnson; and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday. Pastor Brian (Ski) Stodulski, officiating. Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the funeral home 10:45 a.m. Friday.

McCRAY
Baby John McCray went to be with the Lord May 24, 2001. He is survived by his parents, Louise and Joseph McCray. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

METTS
Bonnie Everett Metts, 54, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2001 peacefully at home. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Metts; son, Brandon Metts; daughter, Sarah Mallison; brother, Rodger Everett; and two granddaughters, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Born in Newport News, she made her home in Richmond for the past 33 years. She was an active member of St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, where a memorial service will be held Saturday, June 16, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mrs. Metts' memory to the Massey Cancer Center at Stony Point.

MINES
Departed this life June 12, 2001, Boyd Lee Mines, of Ashland, Va. Remains rest at the Henry W. Dabney Funeral Home, 518 N. Washington Hwy., Ashland. McCarthy, Director.
