AMANDA A. STANLEY
Amanda Ann Stanley, 30, of Wagon Trail Road, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2008 at Dickenson Community Hospital in Clintwood.
Born in Wise, she was a daughter of Doyle and Teresa Hill Cumbo.
She was a homemaker and was of the Freewill Baptist faith.
Funeral services were held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at Haysi Funeral Home with Jerry Vitatoe and Glenn Sykes officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at Bartley-Hill cemetery, Haysi.

BILLY D. PRESLEY
Billy Douglas Presley passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at his home in Clintwood.
He was born November 10, 1943 and was the son of the late Deward and Virginia Presley.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Temple Hill Memorial Park inside the the Chapel Love with Allen Bonnell officiating.
Pallbearers were family and friends.

CLARENCE R. SYKES
Clarence Ralph Sykes, Sr. 94, formerly of Quintas Ave. passed away at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
He was the husband of the late Easter Phillips Sykes, Beulah Farmer Sykes and Ruth King Sykes.
He was born Dec. 1, 1913 in Dickenson County to the late Brice and Cora Wright Sykes.
The funeral will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 26 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.

DOSHIA O. PUCKETT
Doshia Owens Puckett, 93, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 24, 2008, in Lebanon.
She was a lifelong member of the Old Regular Baptist Church, and the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 7 p.m. at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with ministers of the Old Regular Baptist Church to officiate.
The family will receive friends after 5 p.m. Family and friends are asked to meet at the Clinch Valley cemetery Friday, March 28, 2008, at 1 p.m. for an additional graveside service.

IMOGENE MULLINS
Imogene Mullins, 63, passed away Monday, March 17, 2008 at Tazewell Community Hospital, Tazewell, following a brief illness.
Born in Dickenson County, she was the daughter of the late Kemper and Ollie Mullins Fuller Mullins.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with elders Buster Mullins and Frank Newsome officiating.
Burial followed at Bartley & Hill cemetery on Big Ridge near Tarpon.

MITCHELL A. ROSE
Mitchell Aaron Rose, 55, passed away Monday, March 10, 2008 at his home.
He was the son of Cecil Kyle Rose and Eleanor H. Mullins.
Services were held Saturday, March 15, 2008 at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North Hagerstown, Md. 21742 with Pastor Allen Youngbar officiating.

NORMA T. TIPTON
Norma Thelma Tipton, 79, passed away Friday, March 21, 2008 after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Tom’s Creek on March 1, 1929.
A graveside service was held at 1 p.m. March 24, 2008 at Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood with the Rev. John E. Massey Jr. officiating.

WILLIAM WITT, JR.
William (Bill) Witt Jr., 37, passed away Friday, March 21, 2008 at his home.
He was of the Baptist faith and was an employee of Randy Partin Construction Co.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 24, at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, with Rev. Darrell Milgrim officiating.
Burial followed in the Kiser cemetery in Nora. Visitation was held prior to services.

ROBERT J. LYALL
Robert Joe Lyall, 60, went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 15, 2008 at Norton Community Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2008 at Mullins Funeral Home Chapel with Manie Strouth and Bill Crawford officiating.
A graveside service followed with military service with VFW Post 8979, DAV Chapter 35 and American Legion Post 227.
He was laid to rest in the Lyall Family cemetery, located on The Lake Road, Clintwood.

AGNES Y. SALYER
Agnes Yates Salyer, 79, died at her home on Caney Ridge on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008.
Funeral services were held at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2008 at Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Theo Yates and A.L. Yates ministers officiating.
An additional graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Yates Family cemetery on Caney Ridge.

CYNTHIA BAKER
Cynthia Baker, 86, passed away Tuesday (Jan. 22, 2008) at the Mountain View Regional Medical Center in Norton.
Funeral services were conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise with Elder Phillip Hines and Elder Jerry Overstreet officiating.
Burial and graveside committal services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25, in the Wise cemetery.
Family and friends will meet at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home to go to the cemetery in procession.

JAMES DEWAYNE ALDRIDGE
James Dewayne Aldridge, 50, of Dunbar, W.Va., passed away on Sunday (Jan. 20, 2008) in Norton.
The funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 26, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, W. Va. with the Rev. Fairley McCormick officiating.
His family and friends will gather for a visitation one-hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home.
At James’ request, his body will be cremated after the services.

LINDA F. RATLIFF
Linda F. Ratliff, 94, went to be with her Lord at 6:55 a.m. Monday (Jan. 21, 2008).
She was born in Clintwood, to Henry and Rosie (Stanley) Wilson.
Services were held Thursday, Jan. 24, at 1 p.m. at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 East Main St., Gas City, Ind., with Rev. Scott Wilkins officiating.
Burial was in the Gardens of Memory, Huntington County, Ind.

NOLA LEA HILEMAN SULLIVAN
Nola Lea Hileman Sullivan, 92, of St. Paul, passed away Tuesday (Jan. 22, 2008) at Wellmount Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap.
Visitation was held Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Estes Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral service followed at 8 p.m. with Rev. Teddy Phillips and Rev. R.L. Crawford officiating.
Burial was in Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood, on Thursday, Jan. 24, at 1 p.m.
