George Howard Raub
George Howard Raub, 55, of Castleton, died Monday, June 2, 2003, at Fauquier Hospital. He was born November 28, 1947 to the late Carl and Ruth Raub.
Mr. Raub was a Vietnam veteran of the United States Army.
Survivors include two children, Kelly Rance and her husband, Michael, and Bryan Raub, all of Culpeper.
He is also survived by his significant other, Catherine Vervalin and her two children, Amber and Renee Vervalin.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 6, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.
A private service will be held at a later date.

George Davis Bridgett
George Davis Bridgett, 77, of Jeffersonton, died June 3, 2003, at his home.
He was born September 12, 1925 in Warrenton, a son of the late Bertha Lee Hamm.
Mr. Bridgett was a farmer all of his life working for Mrs. Mary McClanahan.
He is survived by one sister, Edith Jackson of Amissville, Va. and one brother, William H. Bridgett of Warrenton, Va.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton, Va. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 6, at 1 p.m. at Warrenton cemetery by Rev. J. Richard Winter.

Margaret Ann Freeman
Margaret Ann Freeman of Rappahannock County, died on Friday, May 30, 2003, at her home.
She was a housekeeper for Newbel and Carol Miller of Washington, Va. and was a member of First Baptist Church, Washington, Va.
Survivors include three sisters, Cathrine Willson of Levittown, Pa., Hazel Coanum of Levittown, Pa. and Connie Beckwith of Tampa, Fla.; three daughters and one son, Denise Freeman of Warrenton, Va., Glenn Freeman of Warrenton, Va., Marion Jett of Manassas, Va., Teresa Fletcher of Front Royal, Va. and one stepdaughter, Irene Haley of Markam, Va.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a dear friend, Cleveland Brent.
A funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church, Washington, Va., at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, with the Rev. Wendell Grant of First Baptist Church officiating.
Interment will be in the Odd Fellow cemetery in Washington, Va.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12 noon until time of the service at 1 p.m. at the church.

Kenneth D. Hatcher
Kenneth DeWayne Hatcher, 20, of Orange, Va., died Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at Fauquier Hospital.
He was born in Warrenton on December 10, 1982.
He was an apprentice at Chewning Masonry in Orange.
He is survived by his parents, Tory Hatcher of Orange and Donald Wayne Hatcher of Warrenton. He is also survived by his step-mother, Debbie Hatcher, many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may call at Moser Funeral Home, 233 Broadview Ave., Warrenton, Va., on Thursday, June 5, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Lois Mildred White Hedrick
Lois Mildred White Hedrick, 92, of Charlottesville, Va., died Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at her residence.
Born December 10, 1910 in Beckley, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Edgar H. and Ruby L. Cavendish White. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William C. Hedrick, Sr. and sons, William C. Hedrick, Jr. and William Bleakley.
Survivors include a son, Charles M. Hedrick and his wife, Mary Jo of Charlottesville, a daughter-in-law, Patricia M. Hedrick of Springfield, Va., grandchildren, William C. (“Kico”) Hedrick, II and his wife Tammi, Charles M. Hedrick, Jr. and his wife, Kelley, Sheri Jo Hager and her husband, Andrew, and Karin Nicole Hedrick, great-grandchildren, Chuck Hedrick, Logan Hedrick, Lindsey Reisser, Trenton Maupin and Julia Maupin.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 6, at Holly Memorial Gardens with Dr. Joel Jenkins officiating. The family will be receiving friends at her home.

Archie Braxton Myers
Archie Braxton Myers, 83, of Warrenton, Va., died on June 2, 2003, at his home.
He was born November 12, 1919 in Rappahannock County, Va., a son of the late Aubrey Myers and Susie Priest Myers. He was preceded in death by his brother, Angus Myers and a sister, Emma Myers.
Mr. Myers was a graduate of the old Warrenton High School where he was a member of the Future Farmers of America and played football. His interests in farming and football continued throughout his life. As a farmer near Warrenton, Archie served on the Board of the Culpeper Farmer’s Cooperative and the Fauquier County Farm Bureau. He was a longtime member of the Warrenton Ruritan Club and as one of their projects served as a ticket taker at the Warrenton and Fauquier High School Football games for over 50 years. He also worked with the Fauquier County Field Trials.
As a young man he served in the U.S. Navy aboard the destroyer USS Maddox in World War II in the South Pacific, and was discharged with the rank of Seaman First Class.
He is survived by several cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 5, at 10 a.m. at Warrenton cemetery by Rev. J. Richard Winter. Friends are welcome to sign a register at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton today after 4 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Rapidan, P.O. Box 1715, Culpeper, VA 22701.

Franklin R. Deane
A funeral service for Franklin R. Deane of Orange, will be held today at 2 p.m. at Wolftown Pentecostal Church, Wolftown, Madison County. Interment will be in Graham cemetery in Orange. Pastor Jeff Shifflett will officiate. Preddy Funeral Chapel in Madison is in charge of the arrangements.

Dorothy Eve Renninger
Dorothy Eve Renninger, 84, of Orange, died June 2, 2003, at her residence.
Born July 2, 1918 in Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Grover Hollowbush and the late Florence Kulp Hollowbush.
Her husband was the late Russell H. Renninger.
She is survived by one son, Tyrone B. Renninger and wife Peggy Elizabeth of Orange; step-son, Russell Renninger of Texas; step-daughter, Leona Zeigler of Pa.; three brothers, Wilmer, Bob and Paul Hollowbush all of Pa.; one sister, Helen Moyer of Pa.; three grandchildren, Winoka Nicklow, Tyrone Renninger II, and Pegge Sue Renninger, all of Orange; two great-grandchildren, Maarlon Nicklow and Morgan Nicklow both of Orange.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 5, at 11 a.m. in the family cemetery, Rt. 636, Orange County, conducted by the Rev. John Burke.

Rosella Carter
Rosella Carter, 77, of Culpeper, died on May 31, 2003, at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.
She was born in Fauquier County on Sept. 6, 1925. Her husband, William Garfield Carter preceded her in death.
She is survived by seven children, William Sterling Carter of Midland, Douglas Lee Carter of Culpeper, Elizabeth Frances Dodson of Spotsylvania, Vernon Scott Carter of Bealeton, Joyce Jean Bobo of Roanoke, Kathleen Dodson of Bealeton and Brenda Lynn Bowers of Culpeper. Also surviving are three brothers, Edward Fewell of Pulaski, Benjamin and Thomas Carter, both of Bealeton. Additional survivors include fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. at Moser Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 3 at 2 p.m. at Moser Funeral Home with Dr. Vinton Williams officiating. Interment will be in Marshall cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Mullins, Roy Hitt, Mark Bowers, Roger Fincham, Brian Carter and William Carter Jr.

Roland Iaasac Marcou
Roland Iaasac Marcou, 76, of Brandy Station, died Sunday, June 1, 2003 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. He was born Jan. 27, 1927, in Barton, Vt. to Mrs. Florence Damon Marcou and the late Mr. Pearle Marcou.
Mr. Marcou farmed the majority of his life and was known to be a hard worker to all that he worked for.
Roland is survived by his wife, Geraldine P. Marcou of Brandy Station and their daughter, Rolanda Williams of Brandy Station; son, Ronnie Marcou of Orange; and Robert Marcou whom he raised as a son. He is also survived by his nine step children; his four sisters; one brother; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren; many friends and close loved ones, including his close friend, Bud Trenis of Cattlet.
In addition to his father, Roland is preceded in death by one son, five stepchildren and one brother.
The family will hold a private memorial service on a later date to be announced.

Franklin R. Deane, 63, of Orange, died Saturday, May 31, 2003 at University of Virginia Medical Center. John Simeon “Sim” Kilby
John Simeon “Sim” Kilby, 91, of Culpeper, died Friday, May 30, 2003, at the Culpeper Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born June 9, 1911 in Brightwood, Virginia to the late Haywood O. Kilby and Virginia Carpenter Kilby.
Mr. Kilby worked as a drycleaner at Culpeper Cleaners and Quality Cleaners all of his life. Mr. Kilby was a member of International Order of the Odd Fellows Culpeper Chapter, Culpeper Minuteman and a member of the Culpeper United Methodist Church.
Mr. Kilby is survived by his wife of 67 years, Robbie Partlow Kilby of Culpeper, three children, John S. “Sonny” Kilby and his wife Claire of Culpeper, Maxine Jolliffe and husband Fred of Glen Allen, Virginia, Pat Kibler and her husband Jim of Culpeper.
Additional survivors include seven grandchildren, Jim Kibler Jr., Jill Woody, Patti Piche, Tod Jolliffe, Beth Kinton, Christy Ingram, Rick Holliday, and eight great-grandchildren, Michelle Ruetschle, Jimmy Kibler, III, Michael Woody, Robbie, Kinton, Brooke Ingram, Skylar Ingram, Colin Holliday and Matthew Holliday.
He is also survived by one sister, Frances Conier of Culpeper, and a host of nieces and nephews, friends and loved ones.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Beulah Payne, Rebecca Wood, Mable Kersey, and three brothers, Oliver Kilby, H.O. Kilby, Maurice Kilby and Cecil “Toots” Kilby.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 2, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 3, at 2 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with the Rev. John Crawford officiating.
Interment will follow in Fairview cemetery.
The family will be serving as the pallbearers.
Memorial donations may be made in his name to the Culpeper United Methodist Church, 1233 Oaklawn Dr., Culpeper, VA 22701.

Charles A. Reichert
Charles A. Reichert, 77, of Culpeper, died Saturday, May 31, 2003, at Oak Springs of Warrenton. Mr. Reichert was born November 14, 1925 in Brooklyn, New York to Mr. Charles F.J. Reichert and Ursula V. Watson Reichert.
Mr. Reichert was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, he was a Sea Captain and conducted oceanographic research.
He is survived by one brother, Alban J. Reichert, of Rochester, New York, and two sisters, Ellen C. O’Connor, of Culpeper, and Patricia A. Treacy of Seaford, New York. He is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.
Mr. Reichert was preceded in death by two sisters, Ursula A. Reichert and Margaret M. Reichert, and also one brother, Stephen J. Reichert.
A Memorial Mass will be held Monday, June 2 at 10 a.m. at Precious Blood Catholic Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Precious Blood Epiphany School.

Elizabeth Carder
Elizabeth Carder, 77, of Culpeper, died Thursday, May 29, 2003, at Culpeper Regional Hospital. She was born Jan. 27, 1926 in Culpeper to the late Bernard Amos Carder and Jessie Mae Carder.
Mrs. Carder retired from J.J. Newberry’s after twenty years. She was a lifetime member of Culpeper Baptist Church where she was Secretary for the Dorcas Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Norman Ashby Rebekah Lodge #69.
Mrs. Carder is survived by her husband, James R. Carder of Culpeper; three children, Fred Reese and his wife, Ann of Melbourne, Fl., Dorothy Walker and her husband, Lewis of Batna and Charles Reese and his finance, Dorothy Hicks of Fredericksburg, and three stepchildren. Paul Carder and his wife, Dorothy of Reedville, Va., Mary Catherine Jones of Culpeper and Doris Carpenter and her husband, Harry of Reva.
Additional survivors include eight grandchildren, Carol Garcia of Jacksonville, Fl., Garry Reese of Deltona, Fl., Kimberlie Denham of Nashville, Tn., PO3 Robert Reese of Pascagoula Naval Station, Ms., Jeff Walker, Susan Ahalt and John Walker all of Batna, and Dawn Reese of Venice, Fl.; nine step grandchildren, Sandra Burgess of Lorton, Paul R. Carder Jr. of Fredericksburg, Mark A. Carder of Stafford, Glenda Jones of Culpeper, Carl Jones and Jamie Jones both of Warrenton, Harry Carpenter Jr. of Culpeper, Debbie Bunch of Lake of the Woods, and Pam Carpenter of Reva; and seven great grandchildren; fourteen step great grandchildren and two step great great grandchildren.
She is also survived by four brothers, Wallace Carder of Culpeper, Russell Carder of Culpeper, Cecil Carder of Lansdale, Pa., and Harold Carder of Sun City Center, Fl.; and a special family friend, Joyce Ross of Haywood.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Bobby Reese, and two brothers, Silas and Melvin Carder.
The family will receive friends Sunday, June 1 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.
A funeral service will be held Monday, June 2 at 2 p.m. at Culpeper Baptist Church with Dr. Ted W. Fuson, Rev. John S. Farrar, Rev. James H. Durham and Dr. M. Burdette Robinson.
Interment will follow in Fairview cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Walker, John Walker, Garry Reese, Tom Jenkins, Melvin C. Carder, and Paul Carder Jr.

Georgia Mildred Parker Hayes
Georgia Mildred Parker Hayes, 79, of Remington, Va., died Friday, May 30, 2003 at her residence.
Mrs. Georgia Hayes was a member of Providence Baptist Church and was a native of Culpeper. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by one sister, Landonia Nibblins of Culpeper; James Herman Hayes II (Blinky) of Warrenton, Va.; one very devoted son-in-law, Roddie Jackson and Annie Ruth Jackson of Remington; and George Allen Hayes of Culpeper; two grandchildren, Rosia Wright (Tina) of Harrisonburg, Va. and William Blackwell (Tee) of Lawrenceville, Va.; eleven great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Alice Hayes of Remington; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held Monday, June 2 at 1 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church, Remington. The Rev. Wendell Grant of Marshall, Va. officiating. Burial will be in Parker Family cemetery, Catalpa, Va.

Valerie M. Groce, 65, of Aroda, formerly of Orange, died Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at her residence. Memorial services will be held Monday, June 2 at 7 p.m. at the Preddy Funeral Chapel in Orange.
