Lena Pearl Summers, 90, of Culpeper died Thursday, August 15, 2002, at Culpeper Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born August 8, 1912 in Fox, VA to the late John N. Halsey and Polly Jane Halsey. Mrs. Summers was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Johnny Q. Summers of Reva and Sidney Melvin Summers of Land O'Lakes, FL, one sister, Edna Cornett of Leesburg, four grandchildren, Chris, Susan, Virginia and Mike, and seven great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bayne Grover Summers and one son, Roy William Summers. A graveside service will be held Monday, August 19, at 1 p.m. at Fairview cemetery with Pastor Charles Shifflett officiating. Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper is in charge of the arrangements.

Ronald Kitts

Mr. Ronald H. Kitts, 65, of Spotsylvania died on Thursday, January 9, 2003 at Bowling Green Health Care Center. Ronald retired from nursing after 35 years. He was honored by different organizations for his writing of poems and stories, which he had various ones published and he was a regular contributor to the Free Lance Star Opinion Page. He is survived by two sisters, Vickie K. Rouse of Spotsylvania and Shirley K. Edwards of Bowling Green; a brother, Jerry W. Kitts of Dalton, GA and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2003 at Kenner Kitts cemetery, Bastian, VA at 2:00 pm. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice Support Care, 2219 Lafayette Blvd, Fredericksburg, VA 22401.

Adeline Boxley

Adeline Boggs "Addie" Boxley, 77, of Culpeper died Wednesday, December 4, 2002, at Prince William Hospital. She was born April 11, 1925 in Barren Creek, West Virginia to the late George Conley and Melissa Wills Conley. Mrs. Boxley is survived by two daughters, Judith Mildred McGrew of Leakey, TX and Gwinda Fors of Culpeper, a son, Robert Lee Boggs of Helena, MT, and two stepsons, Alan Boxley of Reva and Steven Boxley of Locust Grove. Additional survivors include seventeen grandchildren, Leonard Lee Kirby, Dave Alan Kirby, Keith William Kirby, Anita Louise Jenkins, Cathy Lynn Anderson, Jessie Brian Kirby, Eric Wilhelm Fors, II, Mitchell Ray Fors, Nathan Fredrick Fors, Alicia Faith May, Aaron Boxley, Melissa Boxley, Jessica Smith, Michael Ray Boggs, Diana "Dee Dee" Boggs, Norman Lee Boggs and Robert Lee Boggs, and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Boxley, eight brothers, three sisters, one daughter, Sherry Jean Boggs, one granddaughter, Cassandra Belyn Fors, and two great grandchildren, Joie Kirby and Michael Ray Jenkins. The family will receive friends Friday, December 6, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper. A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 7, at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Chapel with Rev. Mark Jarvis officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview cemetery.

Rebecca Cave

Rebecca Jane Cave, 86, of Reva, died Saturday, February 8, 2003 at her residence. Mrs. Cave was born on April 14, 1916 in Madison County to the late Seldon and Bessie Woodward Dodson. She is survived by one son, Oscar E. Cave, and his wife Barbara of Reva, one daughter, Naomi C. Harrison, and her husband, George, of Lawrenceville, Ga., three grandchildren, Sharmon McDaniel and her husband, Ricky, Ned Ellerbe, and his wife, Patricia, all of Madison, Linda Miller and her husband, John, of Fort Mill, South Carolina, seven great-grandchildren, Ricky Trent McDaniel, Daniel Ellerbe both of Madison, Jason Dodson of Brightwood, Jessica Miller, Jennifer Miller, Jamie Miller, Sean Miller all of Fort Mill, South Carolina and four great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Cave is also survived by a number of half-brothers and sisters and a special friend, Sherley Rosson. She is preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Oscar Daniel Cave, her parents, one brother, Herman Dodson, and a number half- brothers and sisters. The family will receive friends Monday, February 10, 2003 from 6-9 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels of Culpeper, 850 Sperrryville Pike. A private family interment will be held at a later date. Found and Sons Funeral Chapels of Culpeper is in charge of the arrangements.

William Johnson

Mr. William Bruce Johnson, 35, of Spotsylvania died on Wednesday, August 28, 2002 at his home. He is survived by his wife, Kimberly; two daughters, Angelica and Marissa of the home; two sons, Casey and Anthony of the home; his parents, Linda and Morris Johnson of Dale City; two sisters, Alice and her husband John Kennedy of Falmouth and Grace and her husband Rich Hargrove of Arlington, VA and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 30, at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Fredericksburg from 7:00-9:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 31, at Healing Wings Church at 11:00 am with Brother Norman Gallimore officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Elisabeth Johnson

Elisabeth B. Johnson, of Culpeper, died January 1, 2003 at the Culpeper Regional Hospital. Mrs Johnson was born in Hopkinsville, Kentucky to the late C. H. H. Branch D.D. and Elisabeth Reed Branch. Mrs. Johnson graduated from Anges Scott College, in Decatur, Georgia, and was married in Tampa, Florida, to C. E. (Ned) Johnson, Jr. with whom she co-authored the book A Rappahannock County History. Mrs. Johnson was instrumental in starting the first "hot lunch" program in Sperryville School, and the first course in Home Economics in Rappahannock County. She was the first President of the Board of Rappahannock County Library, which she also helped organize. Mrs Johnson was a member and past regent of USDAR, Culpeper Minute Men Chapter, also a Charter member and past president of the Rappahannock County Garden Club. She served on the Rappahannock County Board of Welfare, and served several years as the Chairman. Mrs. Johnson was, for twenty-five years Organist and Choir director of Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church, in Sperryville, Virginia. An expert bridge player she was a member of two Sperryville Bridge Clubs and the R.C.B.M.D.B. Club. She is survived by her Daughter and Son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harold W. (Jake) Jones of Sperryville, Virginia, and her son Mr. C. E. Johnson III, of Duneden, Florida. Also surviving are her Grandchildren: Elisabeth Hertzog Jones, Lynn Wood Jones, C.E. Johnson IV, and Jennifer Leigh Johnson. And four Great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, C. E. Johnson Jr.. A Memorial Service will be held at 11a.m. on January 4, 2003 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, Virginia, with the Pastor Jeff Light officating. Bernard Jenkins

Bernard Lester Jenkins, 78, of Sperryville died January 4, 2003 at his residence. Mr. Jenkins was born in June 12, 1924 in Rappahannock County to the late Mr. Walter C. Jenkins and Mrs. Gertie L. (Leake) Jenkins. Mr. Jenkins was a selfemployed farmer and also operated "Jenkins Open Air Market" in Sperryville, for over twenty-five years. He had an endless love for his family, fishing and gardening. Mr. Jenkins is survived by his wife of 49 years, Thelma Marie Jenkins, and their children, three sons and three daughters; Ronnie, and his wife Sandra of Madison county, Rhonda Baldwin and her husband Jack of Sperryville, Larry and his wife Lori, of Etlan, Cathy Pullen and her husband Ricky of Washington, Va., Richard and his wife Amy of Culpeper, and Angie Baldwin with her husband Andy of Sperryville. Seven grandchildren; Donna Clark of Madison, Allen Jenkins of Luray, David Baldwin of Sperryville, Heidi Mutter of Fredricksburg, Heather Jenkins of Manassas, Ashleigh Pullen, of Washington, and Amanda Jenkins of Culpeper. and two great grand children, Bryan Clark and Cheyenne Jenkins. Also surviving are his two sisters, Virginia Mae Dodson, of Orange, and Helen Cave,of Boston, and one brother, Junior Jenkins, of Etlan. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two sisters, Julia Leake and Marie Jenkins and one brother, Earl Cleveland Jenkins. The Family will receive friends from 7-9p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2003 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels of Culpeper, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper. Funeral Services will be 2p.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2003 at Found and Sons Chapel, in Culpeper, with the Rev. John K. Burke officiating. Interment will follow at the Sperryville cemetery. Pallbearers named are, John Eubank, Eddy Bennett, David Dodson, Ray Sisk, A. H. Buckner III, and Dr. Walter B. Kilby. Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper is in charge of the arrangements.

Janie Brown

Janie Elizabeth Waller Brown of Culpeper died Sunday, January 5, 2003, at the residence of her granddaughter. Mrs. Brown was born in Rhoadesville, Orange County, VA to the late Aubrey Willie Waller, Sr. and Ollie Tinder Waller. Mrs. Brown was the great great granddaughter of the Honorable Benjamin Waller of Williamsburg, VA. Mrs. Brown was married in Washington, DC, September 5, 1930, to Judson Hume Brown, Jr. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Homemakers Club of Mitchells and was a very active dressmaker and seamstress for the immediate community and surrounding area. Mrs. Brown was a member of Bethel Baptist Church for approximately fifty years. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. And Mrs. Frank E. Brown, Sr. of Culpeper, her grandchildren, Frank Brown, Jr., Natalie Cramer and Sharon Goode and four great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Minnie Dean and Nora Stowe and one brother, Aubrey Willie Waller, Jr. all of Richmond and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Judson Hume Brown, Jr., a daughter, Elsie Mae Brown Settle and a brother, William Waller. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper. A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 9, at 2 p.m. at Found and Sons Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Huneycutt officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview cemetery. Pallbearers will be Frank E. Brown, Jr., John Goode, Harvey Jenkins, Claude Berry, Milton Gore and Roy Seale. Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper is in charge of the arrangements.

Barbara Cowdrick

Barbara Ann Cowdrick, 64 of King George, Virginia died at her home on Monday, August 26, 2002. She worked as a School Matron with the Wall Township school system, for many years. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Donald Cowdrick; a daughter Linda Robbins of King George; two granddaughters Emily and Donna; three brothers, Harry and Joseph Walling both of New Jersey, Thomas Walling of Wall, New Jersey; two sisters Patricia Guffey of Indiana, and Dorothy King of Toms River, New Jersey; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Fredericksburg chapel on Thursday, August 29 from 2 to 4:00 pm; the service will take place, at 4:00 pm, following the visitation; interment will take place in New Jersey.

James Jenkins, Jr.

Mr. James David Jenkins, Jr., 34 of Stafford, formerly of Blountville, TN died Saturday December 14, 2002 at Potomac Hospital. James was a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Penguins fan clubs. He worked for the City Bank Group at the Call Service Center for motorist assistance for the last three years. He is survived by his parents; James and Sandra Jenkins of Stafford; his sister, Sharyn L. Jenkins of Stafford; a brother, Jonathan D. Jenkins of Blountville, TN; his maternal grandmother, Rachel Shelton of Hammond, IN; his paternal grandmother, Mary A. Jenkins of Stuart, FL; a nephew, Jonathan D. Jenkins of Stafford; two nieces, Maranda D. Jenkins and Savannah R. Jenkins both of Kingsport, TN; a sister-in-law, Dianah Weatherly of Kingsport, TN and numerous friends. The family will receive friends at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Fredericksburg on Wednesday December 18, 2002 from 7:00 to 9:00pm. A funeral service will be held at Found and Sons Chapel on Thursday December 19, 2002 at 11:00am. Interment will follow in Stafford Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations in his name may be made to the American Cancer Society, C/O Trudy Clifton, 113 Tallpines Ave., Locust Grove, VA 22508.

Reinhold R. "Ronnie" Lehmann, 82, of Hartwood died on Thursday, March 13, 2003 at Northern Virginia Community Hospital. He was an Ironworker for Union Local #5 for over 60 years. Ronnie enjoyed tinkering with his tractor and liked guns. He is survived by a son, Michael Lehmann of Alexandria; three step sons, Charlie Berry of Spotsylvania, Stanley Berry of Alexandria, and Nelson Trammell of Winchester; a step daughter, Catherine of Ohio; two brothers, Richard Shlapman of North Dakota, Leon Torbenson of California, and a sister, Frita Larson of North Dakota. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 18, 2003 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, Fredericksburg from 11 to 1 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Found and Sons Chapel. Interment will take place in North Dakota.
