CLARKE
Frances Campbell Clarke, 87, of Richmond, widow of Herman E. Campbell and Miles C. Clarke, died Sunday, December 2, 2001. She is survived by her son, William E. Campbell of Richmond; her daughter, Jean C. Jankowski of Syracuse, N.Y.; four grandchildren, William E. Campbell Jr., Barrie Elizabeth Martin, Michael S. Jankowski and Jeffrey C. Jankowski; and four great-grandchildren, Ryan Martin, Cassidy Martin, Kayla Marie Jankowski and Alysa Lee Jankowski. Mrs. Clarke was a member of the former Calvary Baptist Church. Remains rest at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave., where the family will receive friends 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday and where services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 6. Interment in Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Patterson Avenue Baptist Church.

COLEMAN
Louise M. Coleman, 91, of Mechanicsville, passed away Monday, December 3, 2001. She is survived by one son, Wesley D. Tyler and his wife, Audrey B. Tyler; one grandson, Michael W. Tyler and his wife, Janet; one great-grandson, Benjamin M. Tyler; one sister, Ruth M. Cox, all of Mechanicsville. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 4 (today) at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Road. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2001 at Gethesemane Church of Christ Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the East Hanover Volunteer Rescue Squad.

CORNETT
Elizabeth T. Cornett, 71, of Mechanicsville, Va., passed away December 2, 2001. She was the widow of Elmer B. Cornett. She is survived by her daughter, Veronica "Ronnie" Guss and her husband, Wayne of Mechanicsville; four sisters, Dorothy Gilliam of Poquson, Va., Emma Ezell of South Hill, Va., Lois Fowler of Salem, Ohio, and Barbara Moore of Sandston, Va. The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Laburnum Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 2110 E. Laburnum Ave., where services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday. Interment Wednesday, 2:30 p.m. at Comers Rock Cemetery, Elk Creek, Va.

COSBY
Clifton Bernard Cosby Sr. of Alexandria, Va. died December 1, 2001 at his residence. Mr. Cosby was the husband of the late R. Elizabeth Martin Cosby and is survived by three children, Jacqueline Rodriguez and her husband, Francisco of Annapolis, Md., Clifton Bernard Cosby Jr. of Richmond and Elizabeth C. Chimento and her husband, John of Alexandria, Va.; four sisters, Madeline, Lucille, Elizabeth and Angeline; five brothers, Reginald, Msgr. Roy, Linwood, Algar and Andrew; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 4 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Everly-Wheatley Funeral Home, 1500 West Braddock Rd., Alexandria, Va. Funeral service Wednesday, December 5 at 11 a.m. at St. Rita's Catholic Church, 3815 Russell Rd., Alexandria, Va. Interment 1 p.m. Thursday, December 6 at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Richmond. Memorial contributions may be made to Johns Hopkins University Cancer Research, 600 N. Wolfe St., Rom 686 Carnegie, Baltimore, Md. 21287.

DIETRICH
Bertha Dietrich, 98, of Richmond, passed away December 1, 2001. She was the widow of Otto Dietrich, and is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Bruce Kohl; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Dietrich was a member of Southampton Baptist Church. Her remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull St. Rd., where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. A graveside service will be held 9 a.m. Wednesday in Dale Memorial Park.

DIGGS
A. Braden Diggs Sr., age 95, of Richmond, died Saturday, December 1, 2001. He was formerly associated with the Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company, starting his career in 1929. He served in various capacities, including that of general agent in partnership with his father, Gaius W. Diggs. He was educated at McGuire University School and was a graduate of the University of Richmond. He was a member of the Richmond Association of Life Underwriters, General Agent and Managers Association, and the Virginia State Association of Life Underwriters, where he held office in each. He is survived by one son, A. Braden Diggs Jr. and his wife, Patricia; one grandson, A. Braden Diggs III and his wife, Teresa; and two great-grandchildren, A. Braden Diggs IV and Kaitlyn Taylor Diggs. Mr. Diggs was a lifelong member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, where he served on the Vestry frequently. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 5, at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church or to the Forest View Volunteer Rescue Squad.

EASTMAN
Nicholas Eastman, 86, of Henrico, departed this life Monday, December 3, 2001. He is survived by his daughter, Carolyn Raikes and son-in-law, Tommy Raikes; granddaughter, Angela Thurston-Ange; great-grandson, Jacob Ange; niece, Sharon Nuenke of Arizona; stepson, Julian Taylor Jr. and daughter-in-law, Nancy Taylor; three stepgranddaughters, Tammy Shaw, Rebecca Laganna and Julie Boor; six great-grandchildren; and his caretaker, Dorothy Sauvager. He was a most wonderful gentleman and was retired from the Navy and the Chase Manhattan Bank. His remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Staples Mill Chapel, 8510 Staples Mill Rd., where the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m,. Tuesday and where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday. Interment Westhampton Memorial Park.

ELLIS
Mozelle Morgan Ellis, 87, of Richmond, joined her Savior in Glory on December 2, 2001. She was the widow of Floyd L. Ellis and was preceded in death by a son, Rev. Neil Stephen Ellis; and grandson, Bryan Nelson Ellis. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Bobby Dale and Sydney Ellis; grandchildren, Christine L. and Bradley L. Ellis; daughter-in-law, Sandra Walton Ellis; and granddaughter, Tracy M. House; sister, Lois M. Sawyer; and many other family members and friends. Mrs. Ellis was a lifetime member of Manchester Baptist Church and a retiree from Virginia Tax Department. Her remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday followed by interment in Maury Cemetery.

GIVENS
Florence Louise Givens, 85, of Irvington died Monday, December 3, 2001, at MCV Hospitals. She was the widow of Frank Spencer Givens Jr. and the daughter of the late Dr. Harvey Clarence and Grace Eakin Givens. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Mary Virginia Allen. Mrs. Givens lived in Henrico County and Varina before moving to Rappahannock Westminster-Canterbury in Irvington in 1993. She was a retired kindergarten teacher and a long-time substitute teacher at Highland Springs High School. She graduated from John Marshall High School and attended the College of William and Mary. She was formerly president of the state 4-H Leader's Association, a life member of the Virginia Parent Teacher's Association and a charter member of the Rappahannock Toastmasters Club in Irvington. She was an avid gardener, quilter and croquet player. She is survived by a brother, Dr. Preston M. Givens of Richmond; two sons, F. Spencer Givens III and his wife, Ann of Syracuse, N.Y., and their children, Alice G. Givens of Richmond, Russell S. Givens of Broussard, La. and Amy L. Givens of Batavia, N.Y.; and Walter P. Givens and his wife, Carole, of Varina, and their children, Andrew D. and Dana L. Givens of Richmond; two daughters, Maria G. Givens of Lancaster, and Linda G. Giles and her husband, Dr. Richard D. Giles, of Lynchburg and their children, Benjamin G. and R. Daniel Giles of Lynchburg. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m. today at Laurel Hill United Methodist Church on New Market Road in Varina. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Campbell Memorial Presbyterian Church in Weems, Va., with a reception following at Rappahannock Westminster-Canterbury in Irvington. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jamestown 4-H Center, 3751 4-H Club Rd., Williamsburg, Va., 23185; the Campbell Memorial Presbyterian Church, 3712 Weems Rd., Weems, Va., 22576, or to the Rappahannock Westminster-Canterbury Foundation, 10 Lancaster Dr., Irvington, Va., 22480.

GOLDEN
William A. Golden died at home in Midlothian on November 30, 2001. He was born in Minatare, Neb. in 1920 and served in the U.S. Navy for 31 years. Captain Golden was a Naval Academy graduate, carrier pilot, squadron commander, and speech writer during his career in the Navy. He and his wife, Connie, were married for 52 years. After his retirement, he farmed, wrote stories, and enjoyed his family and friends. He is survived by his wife; their daughters, Susan Scovill Wagner of Richmond and Wendy Golden Schneider of Charlottesville; and four extraordinary grandchildren, Julianna and Devin Schneider and Morgan and Nick Wagner. A burial at sea is being arranged. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.

HENDERSON
Iva Smith "Denis" Henderson, 78, of Montpelier, Va., passed away December 1, 2001. He is survived by his devoted wife, L. Juanita Henderson; sons, Oscar and George Henderson, Emjuno Kenyatta; daughters, Josephine Monroe and Mary Henderson; reared children, Carrie Mickens, Corlis Smith, Randy Johnson and Minister Lloyd Johnson; one brother-in-law, Powhatan Johnson; 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; a host of other devoted relatives and friends. His remains rest at the Henry W. Dabney Funeral Home, 518 N. Washington Hwy., Ashland. Funeral service 1 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Bumpass, Va., Rev. Raymond Johnson, pastor, Rev. Larry Owens Jr. officiating.

Mrs. Carolyn Louise "T. Baby" Jeffers, of 2303 Whitcomb St., departed this life Decemebr 2, 2001. The staff of the W.S. Watkins Funeral Home is serving her family.

Dorothy Jean Davis Kennon, age 57, of Mine Run, Va., died December 2, 2001 at her residence. Survived by her husband, Lewis Milton Kennon; daughter, Susan Kennon Burnett; son, Gordon Kyle Kennon; mother, Louise Swift Davis, all of Mine Run, Va.; sisters, Joanne Davis Clift of Beaverdam, Va. and Mary Frances Davis Herndon of Unionville, Va.; grandson, Collin Edward Burnett of Mine Run, Va.; one niece, two nephews, one great-niece. Funeral services 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2001, at Johnson Funeral Home, Locust Grove, Va. Visitation 1 to 3 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. KOSLOW
Virginia R. Koslow, 87, of Richmond, died on December 2, 2001. She is survived by her devoted husband, Herman I. Koslow; son, Kenneth M. Koslow and his wife, Bunny Koslow, and granddaughter, Angela Koslow; son, Philip H. Koslow and Karen Haid; son, Norman Koslow and wife, Connie Koslow and grandsons, Daniel P. Koslow and David A. Koslow. Additionally, she is survived by niece, Esther Koslow; and nephews, Stephen Koslow and David S. Koslow; sister-in-law, Allie Koslow and daughters, Paula Ann Key and Barbara Roberson; sister-in-law, Dorothy Rotella and family; and sister-in-law, Anne Koslow. Other surviving relatives include, Mitchell and Coy Zimmerman, Delores Farmer and family, Yetta Lowenstein and Esther Feldman, Arnold and Barbara Lowenstein and family and Marilyn Lowenstein and family, and Stanley and Frances Shapiro. Also, she is survived by loving caretaker, Roy Lwanga. Graveside services will be held 2:30 p.m. Tuesday (today) at Richmond Beth-El Cemetery at Forest Lawn. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.

LACY
Catherine Wood Lacy, age 76, died December 3, 2001. Arrangements are pending at the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home.

LEBER
Julia E. Woodcock Leber, 94, of Chesterfield, died December 3, 2001. Survivors include her daughter, Iva J. Ohl of Richmond; two sisters, Mildred Goodwyn of Bon Air and Elsie Chandler of Chesterfield; one sister-in-law, Irene Eagles of Chesterfield; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and 18 nieces and nephews. Her remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Road, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday (today) and where funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. Adele Taylor Pitt Leitch, 78, of Richmond, died Saturday, December 1, 2001. She was the daughter of the late Judge and Mrs. Alfred Taylor Pitt. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Robert Edward Leitch; and her children, Anne Taylor L. Moorman and her husband, George, Robert Edward Leitch Jr. and his wife, Patricia, John Taylor Leitch and his wife, Eliza; her brother, Robert Healy Pitt II of Alexandria, Va.; her sister, Anne Pitt Paul Sinnott; and five grandchildren, Austin Taylor Moorman, Elizabeth Bell and Katharine Adele Leitch, and Eliza Corbin and Anne Peyton Leitch. She was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and the Country Club of Virginia. A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2001 at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 6000 Grove Ave., Richmond, Va. 23226.
