Charles S. Gammon

Sunday, October 21, 2007
Sam Gammon, 58, of Louisa, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2007 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.
Born October 12, 1949 in Goochland to Richard Shelton Gammon and Mary Sharpe Gammon, he was employed by the Louisa County Public Transportation Department as a school bus driver and a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Vietnam War.
He is survived by a son, Richard S. Gammon and his wife, Chonna, of Mineral; two daughters, LaCosta R. Gammon and fiancé, Chris Jusick, of Florida, Amanda S. Gammon and fiancé, Derrell Coles, of Louisa; five brothers, Willard Freeman and his wife, Minnie Mae, of Richmond, Richard Freeman and his wife, Dorothy, of Louisa, Bobby Gammon of Apple Grove, Lewis Gammon of Bumpass, Lee Gammon and his wife, Sharon, of Bumpass; a sister, Mildred Payton of Mineral; four grandchildren, Michael Collier of Richmond, Richard Gammon Jr. of Mineral, Jayden Coles of Louisa, Kaylee Jusick of Florida; and a step-grandchild, Joshua Anderson of Stafford.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Mary Ann Freeman.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 25, 2007 in the Woodward Funeral Home Chapel with Raymond F. Brooks conducting the service. Burial will follow at Hillcrest cemetery.

Robert W. McDaniel

Wednesday, October 17, 2007
Robert Walker McDaniel, 92, of Louisa, died Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at Martha Jefferson Hospital, Charlottesville.
Born February 26, 1915 in Barboursville, he was the son of the late Alexander Edgar McDaniel and Ida Estelle McDaniel. He lived the majority of his life in Louisa County. A member of Yanceyville Christian Church, he loved hunting, fishing, blue grass music, his friends, and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna L. McDaniel; a daughter, Della Mae Musser; two grandsons, Timothy Musser and Michael Worley; two sons-in-law, Frank Worley and Sanford Musser; his sisters, Kate McDaniel, Nellie Shipp, Bertie Strang and Betty Glass; and his brothers, Wardy, Herbert, Alex, Eddie and Lloyd.
Survivors include two daughters, Rose L. Greene and her husband, Harlie Edward, of Louisa, and Dorothy Worley of Nokesville; one brother, Herman McDaniel and his wife, Mary, of Ashland; two sisters, Martha Atkins of Louisa and Pearl Glass of Mineral; grandchildren, Robbie Greene, Chris Shaw, Melissa Lohr, Junior Musser, Cindy Hancock, Lynn Glasco and a number of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services, officiated by the Rev. Terry Gilbert, were held Saturday, October 20 at Woodward Funeral Chapel. Burial followed in Yanceyville Christian Church cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Robbie Greene, Martin Greene, Jeremy Greene, Brian Worley, Ryan Key, Dustin Musser, Cody Musser and Joe Young.

Charles F. McGehee

Wednesday, October 17, 2007
Charles Fulton McGehee, 93, of 25 Buckingham Common passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at his residence.
He was born March 8, 1914 in Louisa County, the son of the late John William and Lena Flannagan McGehee.
He was a member of Chesterbrook Presbyterian Church in Falls Church. He was a good husband and father and loved his family. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, and worked for the District of Columbia for thirty years. Following retirement he became a clock collector and was an avid fisherman and gardner.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-five years, Frances Myers McGehee; two sons, John C. McGehee and his wife, Jane, of Stuarts Draft, and Mark A. McGehee of Forest; three grandchildren, Justin A. McGehee, Lauren J. McGehee and Andrew J. McGehee; three nieces, Doris Shumake of Orange, Marie Wright of Centreville and Sharon Gravatt of Montpelier; and his caregiver, Angela Smith.
Following cremation, a private graveside service will be held at Katoctin cemetery in Leesburg at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Waynesboro First Aid Crew, 301 West Broad Street, Waynesboro.
Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Home of Waynesboro handled arrangements.

Readie Price

October 14, 2007
Readie Price, age 72, of Louisa died Sunday, October 14, 2007 at his residence.
He was born August 25, 1935 in Louisa to the late Arsey and Gertrude Timberlake Price.
He is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Price-Jones of St. Louis; a step-daughter, Karen Elaine Williams of Seattle; three sons, Selwyn Reed Price, of St. Louis, Marchell Reginal Price, of Seattle, and Roger Torrance Price, of Charlottesville; a step-son, Charles Leroy Jasper, of Norfolk; seven sisters, Elnora Barrett, of Goochland, Pearl Johnson, Alma Price, Geraldine Walker and Joyce Merritt, all of Louisa; Anetta Dickerson, of Kents Store, and Jane Cox, of Powhatan; one brother, Carmay “Bob” Price of Fluvanna, nine grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers.
Funeral services were held October 20 at County Line Baptist Church in Goochland, with interment following in the church cemetery. Pastor Walter Jones officiated.
Satchell’s Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral arrangements.

Sheila R. Farmer Williams

Sheila Renee Farmer Williams, 41, of Washington, D.C., entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C.
She was born on December 11, 1965 in Washington, D.C. to Henry E. Farmer and the late Lillian Isadora Cook Farmer.
She received her education in the District of Columbia Public Schools. In 1983, she graduated from Roosevelt Senior High School also known as the Rough Riders. She later attended Strayer Business College in the District of Columbia. Sheila went on to pursue her career with various agencies. Occasionally, she worked independently as SRF (Sheila Renee Farmer) Consulting Company.
Sheila married Marshall O’Neal Williams, Sr., on June 26, 2003. She was a devoted and loving wife. They enjoyed many happy times together serving the Lord, attending the movies, traveling and eating at numerous restaurants. She exemplified the love of Jesus to all who knew her.
She accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior while attending Greater Mt. Calvary Church in Washington, D.C. She later joined Newness of Life Bible Church, now known as Beth-Rapha Kingdom Church and was licensed as a minister by Pastors James and Vanessa Mills, her father and mother in the ministry. She was elevated to the calling of Prophetess.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Henry E. Farmer Jr.; and her grandparents, Henry and Ethel Farmer and Wilbur and Lillian Cook.
She leaves to cherish her memories a husband, Marshall O’Neal Williams Sr., of Silver Spring, Maryland; a stepson, Marshall Jr. of Durham, North Carolina; a devoted and loving father, Henry E. Farmer, of Washington, D.C.; uncles, Melvin and his wife, Lila, of Charlottesville, James and Robert Farmer of Louisa, Charles Farmer of Allentown, Pensylvania; aunts, Eva Riddick and her husband, James of Chesapeake, Arlene Cook, Cerelia Cook and Virginia Farmer of Mineral, and Etta Farmer of Richmond; sister-in-laws, Rochelle Toyer of Clinton, Maryland and Jean Simpkins of Washington, D.C.; a brother-in-law, James “Butch” Williams and his wife, Sherron, of Durham, North Carolina; a devoted cousin, Cassandra Truzy of Mineral; and a very special friend, Tonia Gilchrist Butler of Washington, D.C.; and nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
A Celebration of Life Service was held on October 17 at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Gum Spring. Internment followed in the Cook Family cemetery.

Thelma Winn Coleman

Thursday, November 15, 2007
Thelma Winn Coleman was born in Louisa on November 2, 1932 to the late Ernest and Ora Winn and departed this life on Thursday, November 15, 2007.
She was a graduate of the Louisa Training School. On December 27, 1950, she was joined in holy matrimony to the late Clevious Wilmore Coleman Jr. To this union eight children were born. One preceded her in death.
As a young adult, Thelma became a faithful member of the Holy Church of God where she was a member of the Gospel Chorus, Pastor’s Aide and served as church secretary for over 28 years.
In 1998, God led Thelma to move her membership to Mt. Sinai Solid Rock Church of Christ in Rhodesville. She served faithfully there until her health declined. Thelma was a quiet person with a meek spirit; she was known as a woman with great faith. She would often state that she took God to be a great God in her life. She was a virtuous woman that served God from her heart. Thelma enjoyed sewing, quilting, needlepoint, crocheting, embroidery and puzzles.
She was the oldest of five children and was preceded in death by her brothers, Marvin, Richard and John Winn.
Her memories will be cherished by her two sons, Gary Coleman and his wife, Lisa, of Mineral, and Gregory Coleman and his wife, Juliet, of Spotsylvania; five daughters, Barbara Campbell of Spotsylvania, Shirley Moody and her husband, Wilson, of Orange, Marieta Carter and her husband, George, of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Janice Bullock of Louisa and Kathy Adams and her husband, Harold, of Spotsylvania.
She is also survived by one sister, Julia Winn of Washington, D.C; four sisters-in-law, Gloria Coleman of Rego Park, New York, Arnish Thurston and her husband, Larry, of Washington, D.C., Nan Coleman and her husband, Elwood, of Richmond, and Diane Winn of Spotsylvania; brother-in-law, Franklin Coleman and Franklin Burley and his wife, Eleanor, of Orange. She is also survived by two aunts, Rose Poindexter of Washington, D.C. and Fannie Washington of Mineral; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; three nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on November 19 at Thomasson Watson Funeral Chapel with Elder Linwood Sawyer Dr. officiating. Interment followed in the family cemetery.

Dianna L. Reynolds

November 15, 2007
Dianna Leigh Reynolds, 44, of Bumpass, formerly of Norfolk, departed this life on Thursday, November 15, 2007.
She was born on October 27, 1963 to JoAnn and the late Brian Lampro Sr. in Oceanside, California. She enlisted in the US Navy and received an Honorable Medical Discharge. She had been employed with CDI Marine Corporation in Portsmouth for 11 years as a Naval Architect.
Complications from a 15-month battle with a bone marrow transplant, Dianna lost her fight to be with our Lord. She was preceded in death by both of her fathers, Brian Henry Lampro Sr. and Daughton William Lacey.
Her memory will be cherished by her mother, JoAnn Lampro; her two daughters, Jessica Moomau and Brittany Reynolds; her brothers, Brian Lampro Jr. and Robert Lacey; her sister, Cathie Walker; her grandchildren, Anthony Reynolds, Gabriel Reynolds, Hunnie Reynolds, Logan Moomau; her son-in-law, Mickey Moomau; her brother-in-law, Melvin “Bubba” Walker; her sister-in-law, Stephanie Lacey; and her nieces, Elizabeth and Cheyenne Walker, Samantha Bradley, Daughton and Brooklyn Lacey; her beloved former husband, Douglas Reynolds; special friend, Joshua Smith; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 1 at Lake Anna Rescue Squad in Bumpass. Memorial donations can be sent to Brittany Reynolds c/o The Dianna Reynolds Memorial Fund, 530 Haden Lane, Bumpass, VA, 23024.
