Mrs. Judy Lane Pearce Daniel
May 12, 1951 - September 25, 2004
Mrs. Judy Lane Pearce Daniel, 53, of Brodnax, died Saturday September 25, 2004 in Community Memorial Healthcenter.
She was homemaker and the wife of Michael L. Daniel.
Besides her husband she is survived by three sons; Roy E. Wynn, Jr., Michael L. Daniel, Jr. and Mark E. Daniel all of Brodnax. Two sisters; Barbara Davis of La Crosse and Linda Sue Hobbs of Richmond. A brother William A. Pearce III of North Carolina and eight grandchildren.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. in Canaan Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. at Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory.

Mr. Stacey Lee Irvan
July 15, 1968 - September 29, 2004
Mr. Stacey Lee Irvan, age 36, of Oxford, North Carolina, died Wednesday, September 29th in the Granville Medical Center. He was an automobile mechanic.
He is survived by his wife, Gail Irvan, of Oxford, NC; one daughter, Rose Irvan, of Oxford; one son James Irvan of Oxford; one sister Corina Smith of Bedford, Virginia; his father, Malcolm Lee Irvan of Bedford, Virginia; his maternal grandmother, Lucille Lundsford of Waynesboro, Virginia and three nieces, Tiffany, Ashley and Angel Watson.
A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, October 2nd at 11:00 A.M. in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory with interment in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 at the Funeral Home.

Mr. Claude Alton Thomas
March 17, 1928 - October 3, 2004
Mr. Claude Alton Thomas, 76 of Brodnax, died Sunday, October 3, 2004 at Community Memorial Healthcenter. He was a retired driver for Wilson Trucking Corp. and a Korean War Army veteran. He was the widower of Doris Etter Thomas and is survived by his daughter Teresa T. Inge of Brodnax, his son Michael S. Thomas of South Hill; four sisters Myrta Wright, Kathline Moore, Katherine Winstead and Bonnie Jackson all of Brodnax; two brothers Jimmy Thomas of Brodnax and Wayne Thomas of South Hill and three grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P. M. Wednesday at Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory with interment in Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:00 to 8:30 P. M. at the funeral home.

William Albert Ehlke
February 17, 1922 - October 3, 2004
Mr. William Albert Ehlke, age 82 of Littleton, NC, died Sunday, October 3, 2004 in Community Memorial Healthcenter. He was a retired supervisor of Englehard Chemical Corp. in Ohio and a World War ll Navy veteran. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Nichols Ehlke, his daughter Sandra Woolfenden of Fairfax, his son Thomas W. Ehlke of Elyria, Ohio, six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 P. M. Saturday at Prospect United Methodist Church in Ebony. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 25, Ebony, VA 23845. Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Mary Knight Norket
August 2, 1914 - November 5, 2004
Mrs. Mary Knight Norket, age 90, of South Hill passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, November 5th, 2004. She was a member of First Baptist Church of South Hill. She was the loving wife of David Norket, Sr. who died in 1996 and devoted mother of their adopted son, David Norket, Jr.
She is survived by her brothers John Knight and wife Joyce, of Darlington, S.C. and Frank Knight and his wife Ruth of Laurenburg, S.C.; Four grandchildren, Gregory, Chad, Natalie and Nicole and several great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Bill Knight.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, November 13th at 11:00 a.m. at the Crestview Memorial Park. Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.

George Elwood Ezell
January 8, 1926 - November 10, 2004
Mr. George Elwood Ezell, 78, of La Crosse died Wednesday , November 10, 2004. He was a retired owner/operator of a trucking company and the widower of Margaret House Ezell and Daphne Ferguson Ezell. He was member of the American Legion Post #79 , V.F.W. Post #7166, the La Crosse United Methodist Church and a World War II Purple Heart recipient.
Mr. Ezell is survived by his three daughters; Virginia E. Wells and husband Randy of La Crosse, Pat E. Lee and Georgia E. Langston both of Zebulon, NC, his son, Dale M. Ezell and wife Ellen of Wendell, NC, a sister Jean Hite of South Hill, a brother Jimmy Ezell of Dundas, a special friend Barbara Wagner of Crewe, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 3:00 P.M. in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory with interment in the La Crosse Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the La Crosse United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 279, La Crosse, Va. 23950.

Mrs. Frances Lucy Cole
March 13, 1930 - November 12, 2004
Mrs. Frances Lucy Cole, age 74 of La Crosse, died Friday, November 12, 2004 in Community Memorial Healthcenter. She was a retired La Crosse Sportswear employee and the widow of John Baxter Cole. She is survived by a sister Marie L. Doyle of Emporia and several nieces and nephews including Susan C. Carter of Bakersfield, NC and Kelly Cole of La Crosse. A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P. M. Sunday in the Cole Family Cemetery near Bracey. Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Mabel Blanch Jones
February 20, 1908 - November 15, 2004
Mrs. Mabel Blanch Jones, age 96 of South Hill and formerly of Princeton, West Virginia, died Monday, November 15, 2004 at Pineview Nursing Home. She was the widow of Samuel McKinley Jones and is survived by her son Paul W. Jones and his wife Sally of Boydton, her daughter Pansie C. Griffith of Louise, VA; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. A funeral service was conducted Thursday morning in Princeton with interment in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory was in charge of local arrangements.

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Callahan Chavis
January 28, 1922 - November 26, 2004
Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Callahan Chavis, age 82, of South Hill, died Friday, November 26, 2004 in Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Blackstone. She was a retired secretary for Ansul Chemical Co. in Pennsylvania. She was the widow of Coleman Lawrence Chavis and is survived by her son John C. Klasen of Forksville and a dear friend Mrs. Seretha A. Beck of South Hill. A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 P. M. Sunday in Kenbridge Heights Cemetery in Kenbridge. Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, P. O. Box 621, South Hill, VA 23970.

Richard Reynold Olson, Jr.
October 17, 1934 - December 4, 2004
Mr. Richard Reynold Olson, Jr., 70, of Fox Run subdivision, Bracey, died Saturday, December 4, 2004 at his residence. He was the retired Chief of Police of Falconer, NY and a U. S. Army veteran. Mr. Olson is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Lenora R. Olson, two daughters; Ellen Perrone and husband Patrick of Little Falls, NY and Lauralee Hinman and husband Michael of Jamestown, NY , a son Richard S. Olson and wife Arlette of St. Petersburg, Fl. and nine grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son Robert Hugh Olson.
A funeral service will be conducted Monday at 11:00 A.M. in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Ridgeway, NC, with interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. at Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home. The family suggest memorial contributions to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 114 Poplar Mount Rd. , Norlina, NC 27563 or Community Memorial Hospice , P. O. Box 90, South Hill, Va. 23970.
