SCHIFF
Irving S. Schiff, age 70, died Sunday, February 11, 2001. A celebration of his life will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, at The Downtown Club, Riverfront Plaza, 901 E. Byrd. Contributions in lieu of flowers to the Fan Free Clinic would honor him.

SEAY
Passed away February 16, 2001, Rachel A. Seay, 58, of Doswell. She is survived by her husband, Aubrey E. Seay; children, Aubrey E. Seay Jr. and Darrell K. Seay; grandchildren, Douglas, Lauren and Brittany Seay; mother, Mildred E. Cannon; brother, William Claytor; devoted sister-in-law, Francis Lowery; and devoted friend, Cathy Inge. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Reid Funeral Home, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, where services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday. Interment Taylorsville Baptist Church Cemetery, Doswell. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Hospice of Central Virginia, 7231 Forest Ave., Suite 100, Richmond, Va. 23226.

SOLES
Thomas Doswell Soles Sr. passed away Thursday, February 15, 2001, in Newport News, Va. He was the husband of Ida Meredith Soles. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2001, at Weymouth Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Richmond. Arrangements are by Weymouth Funeral Home, Newport News.

TAYLOR
Ralph Klein Taylor, 77, of Glen Allen, died Thursday, February 15, 2001. Mr. Taylor attended the Universities of North Carolina and Pennsylvania. He was a US Marine Corsair Fighter Pilot in WWII. He was founder and president of the AES Companies and Subsidiaries, a former director of Central Fidelity Bank and a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. Mr. Taylor was the son of the late Helen Klein and Charles J. Taylor. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter A. and Norman E. Taylor. Survivors include his wife, Annabelle Taylor; a daughter, Susan T. Wells; three sons, Robert D., William B. and Richard K. Taylor; two brothers, Raymond S. and Charles J. Taylor; four sisters, Alice Parker, Grace Davis, Edith Osborne and Ruth Haney; 13 grandchildren, Clark, Abigail, Jane, Leah, Sam, Wynne, Maggie, Wes and Charlotte Taylor, Alex, Eliza, Jack and Mary Wells. The family will receive friends Sunday, February 18 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd. Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Monday, February 19 at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 6004 Three Chopt Rd. Interment Hollywood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Children's Hospital, 2924 Brook Rd., Richmond, Va.

TEESLINK
Gary Jon Teeslink, 61, of Montpelier, died February 15, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Dukes Teeslink; three children, Gary Jon Teeslink II, Robert Jason Teeslink and LeAnn McFarland; a grandson, Garrett McFarland; three brothers, Donald, Rex and Roger Teeslink; a half brother, Paul Andreson; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Teeslink was a deputy sheriff with the city of Richmond and was a member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church. Friends may call at Reid Funeral Home, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, 6 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday. A memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Duncan Memorial Church. THORNTON
William Andrew "Bill" Thornton, 62, of Mechanicsville, died Friday, February 16, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Schools Thornton; two devoted children, Tracy Todd Thornton and his wife, Robin, Karolyn Kristine Banes and her husband, Eric; devoted stepchildren, Cheryl Elam and her husband, Brent, Joseph Andrzejewski and his wife, Anke, Michael Andrzejewski and his wife, Debbie, Kenneth Andrzejewski and his wife, Pam, Pamela Mackey and her husband, Steven, and Jason Schools; a granddaughter, Kristin Thornton; several stepgrandchildren; his mother, Nora C. Thornton; two brothers, Richard Thornton and his wife, Linda, Larry Thornton and his wife, Becky; numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee Davis Rd. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at the Mechanicsville Christian Center, 8061 Shady Grove Rd. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the East Hanover Rescue Squad, where Mr. Thornton served for seven years. He was also a former member of the Mechanicsville Kiwanis Club.

WARD
Randolph Wilson Ward, 78, of Kinsale, died on Wednesday, February 14, 2001. Mr. Ward was a retired federal fire chief and a retired lieutenant for the Army Air Corps. Survivors are his wife, Linda G. Ward; a son, J. Patrick Walsh III of Norfolk; three daughters, Lynda Jeannette Ward of Coinjock, N.C., Kimberley Ainsworth of Feehold, N.J., and Christina Maisey of Norfolk; a sister, Ruth Cope of Greenville, S.C.; and five grandchildren, John W. Stansell, Clarice and Ross Ainsworth, Aria and Micaela Maisey. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kinsale Fire Department, P.O. Box 51, Kinsale, Va. 22488. Services will be private.

WILKERSON
Gertrude Swann Wilkerson, age 98, formerly of Highland Springs, died Wednesday, February 14, 2001, at the Masonic Home of Virginia. She was the widow of George Harold Wilkerson and is survived by two daughters, Dr. Vivian M. Wilkerson of Richmond and Ann W. Murray of Winter Park, Fla.; four grandchildren, Jim, Charlie Jr. and Linda Murray, all of Winter Park, Fla., Stephan Murray of Hallandale, Fla.; and a special niece, Terrie Swann. Mrs. Wilkerson was a member of the Highland Springs United Methodist Church and the Highland Springs Senior Woman's Club. Remains rest at the Laburnum Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 2110 E. Laburnum Ave., where friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, and where services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday. Interment Forest Lawn. WOOD
Kathy W. Wood, 47, of Charlotte, N.C., died Thursday, February 15, 2001, at her home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, February 18, 2001, at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel. Burial will follow at a later date in Wilmington, N.C. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Kathy Lynn Wood was born October 6, 1953, in Kern County, Calif., the daughter of the late Joseph and Olga Rushing Wolff. She is survived by her three sons, to whom she was a loving and devoted mother, Christopher, Ian and Aaron Wood of Charlotte: twin sister, Karen Creech of Richmond, Va.; sister, Susan Quirk of Jacksonville, N.C.; fiance, Ronald W. Lattin of Charlotte; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the Lupus Foundation, 801 Baxter St., Ste. 404, Charlotte, N.C. 28202. ZEHEB
Kevin J. Zeheb, 37, of Thousand Oaks, Calif., formerly of Richmond, Va., died Friday, February 9, 2001. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles J. Zeheb and is survived by his wife, Linda Koepfer of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; his mother, Thelma G. Zeheb of Annandale; two brothers, John C. Zeheb of Glen Allen and David N. Zeheb of Midlothian; two sisters, Vicki Z. Skinarakis of Annandale and Rene Z. Bradley of Richmond. Family and friends will gather at St. Anthony's Maronite Church, 4611 Sadler Rd., Glen Allen, Va., for a memorial service on Monday, February 19, 2001, at 1 p.m.

Dwight D. Alford of Richmond entered eternal rest May 6, 2001. Cherishing his memories are his son, Dwight Brandon; five daughters, Rosemary Alexander, Beauleat Lesseter, Donnetta Bowen, Donnisha Alford, and Channette Bowen; five grandchildren; one brother, Edwins Alford Sr.; two sisters, Bambi Alford and Denise Alford; a host of other relatives and friends. R. Graig Armstrong, age 15, returned home to be with his God and his maternal grandmother, Billie K. Slaughter, on Wednesday, May 9, 2001. He is survived by his parents, Donna S. and Robert G. Armstrong; his paternal grandparents, Joyce J. and Minor D. Armstrong; his maternal grandfather, Stanley Ray Slaughter; aunts and uncles, Becky S. and Russell S. Dixon, Stanley R. ATKINSON
Mrs. Audrey Powell Atkinson of Richmond, widow of Clarence W. Atkinson Jr., died Thursday, May 10, 2001. She was preceded in death by her brother, John G. Powell and is survived by two daughters, Robbi A. Wood and Virginia L. Atkinson; a son-in-law, Frank M. Wood Jr.; three grandchildren, Michele A. Wood McKinnon, Sandra D. Freer, Troy W. Toombs; and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Atkinson was a charter member and the first President of the Chimborazo Woman's Club and a retired employee of the Personnel Department of C&P Telephone Company of Virginia. Her family will receive friends at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd., from 1 to 2:30 p.m. today. Interment private. Bernard J. Bowles, 82, of Columbia, Va., departed this life suddenly at his residence, Tuesday, May 8, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Thelma; son, Bernard H. Bowles; daughter, Yolanda B. Greene; son-in-law, Lenell Greene; granddaughter, Miya Greene of Washington, D.C.; brothers, James M. Bowles, M.D., Gum Springs, Va., Arthur G. Bowles, Detroit, Michigan; sister, Ruth B. Jackson, New York; sisters-in-law, Jane Allen-Bowles, Yolanda Bowles; brother-in-law, Jerome Jackson; host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Remains rest at the Robert Mealy Funeral Home, 2525 Dogtown Road, Goochland, Va. Funeral services Saturday, May 12, 2 p.m., Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Columbia, Va. Rev. BROWN
Mildred Bowers Brown, 91, of Mechanicsville, widow of Daveney Brown, died Wednesday, May 9, 2001. She is survived by her son, Ronald D. Brown; two grandsons, Michael S. Brown and David R. Brown; and a brother, Dexter Bowers. Graveside services will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Rosewood Memorial Park in Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Alzheimer's Association of Greater Richmond. Arrangments by the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home.

BRYANT
Dorothy Belvin Bryant, age 74, departed this life on Tuesday, May 8, 2001. She is survived by her husband, Charles W. Bryant; one daughter, Patricia Ann Bryant of Richmond; one brother, Thomas Edward Belvin and sister-in-law, May of Williamsburg; and six nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2001, at Westhampton Baptist Church. A reception immediately to follow in the church fellowship hall. The family will not be receiving flowers. As Mrs. Bryant was a lifelong animal lover, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Henrico Humane Society, P.O. CALL
Joseph B. Call Jr., 83, of Richmond, died May 8, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Allen Call; children, Jay B. Call III, Ethan Allen Call, Stephanie C. Childrey, Tommy S. Call, Babette C. Whitney, Nan C. Wilson, Billy Call, Patricia C. Golden, Linda C. Trumble and Lydia Call; 22 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren. During WWII as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army, Mr. Call was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star for wounds received and for heroic achievement in action in the face of imminent danger while serving with the 411th Regiment of the 103rd Infantry Division near Strasbourg, France, in 1944. He was founder of J.B. Call Jr. & Co. Inc., a local real estate sales and appraisal firm formed in 1953. He pioneered the restoration and renovation of Fan District homes in the 1950s and was the former director of the Richmond Association of Realtors. He was a member of Second Presbyterian Church, the Country Club of Virginia, James R. Goodloe Hunt Club, the Sons of the Revolution and captain of the crew of the Virginia Boat Club. His remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Central Chapel, 3801 Augusta Ave., where the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday in Hollywood Cemetery.
