BRADSHAW
Donald E. Bradshaw Sr., 59, formerly of Alexandria, Va., died May 27, 2002 at MCV Hospital, Richmond, Va. Survivors include his children, Michael, Donald Jr., Crystal and Andrea. A private memorial service will be held May 29, 2002.

BRADSHAW
Opal Browning McCauley Bradshaw, 76, of Boydton, formerly of Chesterfield, died Monday, May 27, 2002. She was the widow of Burl McCauley and Letcher Bradshaw and is survived by five children, Wayne and Nelson McCauley, Fay Brooks, L.O. Bradshaw Jr. and Evelyn Dalbow; two brothers, Wayne and Fred Browning; and three sisters, Pearl Swick, Helen Fallen and Martha Smith; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 South Laburnum Ave., where funeral services will be held 3:30 p.m. Thursday. Interment Washington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Highland Springs Church of Christ Building Fund or a charity of your choice.

COOPER
Frank Davis Cooper, 83, of Chester, widower of Rachel Young Cooper, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2002. A native of Franklin County, Va., he was the son of the late Beverly Davis and Lula Bryant Cooper. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a retired employee of E.I. Dupont with 25 years of service. He was a member of Kingsland Baptist Church. Mr. Cooper was preceded in death by a stepson, Edward Young; and a grandson, Christopher Cooper. He is survived by a son, Coy D. Cooper and wife, Betsy of Chesterfield; two grandchildren, Christie Cooper and Stephen Cooper; a sister, Shirley Willis of Salem, Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, at the Chesterfield Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

GIBSON
Virginia Revere Gibson, 87, of Richmond, formerly of King & Queen, Va., died Monday, May 27, 2002. She was a member of Olivet Baptist Church. Her husband, R. Samuel Gibson, preceded her in death. She is survived by a son and his wife, Robert and Nettie Gibson of Mattaponi, Va. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Vincent Funeral Home, West Point, Va. Burial in Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Olivet Baptist Church, HC 74, Box 336, Mattaponi, Va. 23110.

GROSSMAN
Sue Anne Grossman of Delray Beach, Fla., formerly of Oxon Hill, Md. and Richmond, died May 26 at age 91. Miss Grossman was born in Baltimore and served in the Women's Army Air Corps during WWII, attaining the rank of Captain, after which she and her sister owned and operated Sandy Sue Kiddie Shop in SE Washington, D.C. for 33 years. Their store was a national first prize winner of the Brand Name Award for small businesses. Miss Grossman was a past president of the Juniors of the National Council of Jewish Women's Baltimore Chapter and active in Women's American ORT in Florida. She is survived by her sisters, Sadie E. Grossman of Delray Beach and Dinah G. Wolfe of Richmond and Annapolis, Md.; nieces, Joyce W. Hoffer (Barry J.), Annapolis, Md., Norma Sue Wolfe, New York City and Marilyn S. Ruben (Joel L.), Yuma, Ariz.; also, grandnephews, Lee, Brian and Alan Hoffer; grandnieces, Rachael Byrd and Amy Ruben; and great-grandniece, Samantha Byrd. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, May 29 at 11 a.m. at United Hebrew Cemetery, 3901 Washington Blvd., Baltimore, Md. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Contributions may be sent to the Women in military Service for America Memorial Foundation, Dept. 560, Washington, D.C. 20042-0560.

HOTCHKISS
Thomas Atkins Hotchkiss, 88, of Richmond, died Monday, May 27, 2002. He was the widower of Virginia Betts Armistead Hotchkiss. He was born November 2, 1913 in Richmond, Va., the son of Henry S. Hotchkiss and Lilian A. Hotchkiss. He was predeceased by his sister, Alice Hotchkiss Leary on May 26, 2002. A graveside service will be held in Hollywood Cemetery on Wednesday, May 29, 2002 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the VMI Foundation, P.O. Box 932, Lexington, Va. 24450.

JEWELL
Mr. Charles William (Bill) Jewell, a native and lifelong resident of Newport News, died Saturday, May 25, 2002. He was a graduate of Ferguson High School, an Army veteran of Viet Nam and was employed by the City of Newport News Treasurers Office for the past 19 years. Mr. Jewell was a member of the Virginia Chapter Gold Wing Club and was a director of the Hampton Roads Bowling Association. He was preceded in death by his father, C.A. (Dee) Jewell and is survived by his wife, Eva Nikitas Jewell; four children, Benjie Perez and his wife, Marybeth, Tony Perez and his wife, Rachel, Teresa Lesher and her husband, Todd, Beth Walty and her husband, Kevin; and one grandson, Peter Anthony Perez II. Also surviving are his mother, Vivian Latham Jewell; father and mother-in-law, Pete and Bobbie Nikitas. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday evening in Peninsula Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Thursday, May 30 at 2 p.m. by Rev. Dr. Charles K. Root. Interment will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park. Memorials may take the form of gifts to EDMARC Hospice for Children, P.O. Box 2015, Chesapeake, Va. 23327-2105.

JOHNSON
Lester C. Johnson of Chesterfield Co., formerly of New Brunswick, N.J., died May 26, 2002. He was preceded in death by his father, James C. Johnson. Surviving are his wife, Rita R. Johnson; mother, Mamie L. Johnson; one sister, Yvonne Johnson; one niece, Shawna L. Hooper; host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd., where the family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. After 10 a.m. Thursday, May 30, remains will rest in St. Paul's Baptist Church, 2600 E. JOHNSON
Marion Lee Farmer Johnson, 89, of Mechanicsville, went to be with the Lord Monday, May 27, 2002. Wife of Robert O. Johnson, they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on February 27 of this year. She is also survived by her son, Robert G. Johnson and his wife, Page and their son, Christopher; one sister, Evelyn Mae Claytor; and several nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Lillian Farmer and was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Leigh Street Baptist Church. Her remains rest at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee Davis Rd., where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, and where services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.

JONES
Mr. Rudolph Jones of 3307 Barton Ave. departed this life Thursday, May 23, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Inez Jones; two daughters, two stepsons, one sister, and a host of other relatives and friends. Professional services provided by Crawley Funeral Home, 3810 Meadowbridge Rd., where funeral services will be held Thursday, 1 p.m. Rev. Anderson officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. Family and friends kindly assemble at the Funeral home at 12:30 p.m.

JORDAN
Anne C. Jordan, age 64, of Crewe, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2002. She is survived by her husband, Cecil E. Jordan; children, Marjorie "Susie" Lavender of Raleigh, N.C., Charles D. Jordan of Gorham, Maine, Robert D. Jordan of Denton, Ark. and Sharon Jordan of Crewe; granddaughters, Samantha Sullivan and Katie Lavender; a brother, Wayne Calhoun of Petersburg. She was a retired bookkeeper for H&S Tractor, and a member and Deacon of Pryor Memorial Presbyterian Church. Anne was an avid bowler and secretary of the Wednesday Morning Bowling League. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29 at Jennings-McMillian Funeral Home, Crewe. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment in Crewe Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

LEARY
Alice Hotchkiss Leary, 90, of Richmond, died May 26, 2002. She was born in Richmond on December 20, 1911, the daughter of Henry and Lilian Hotchkiss, granddaughter of Elmore D. Hotchkiss. Her brother, Thomas Atkins Hotchkiss died on Monday, May 27, 2002. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2002 in Hollywood Cemetery.

MEADE
Doris M. (Dot) Meade, 83, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord May 26, 2002. She was the widow of Glen E. Meade and is survived by a daughter, Sandy G. Meade of Williamston, N.C.; son, Glen E. Meade Jr. and his wife, Lynn of Greenville, N.C.; grandchildren, Taylor and Andrew Meade; brothers, Melvin and Tom Mallory of Richmond; sister, Mabel M. Powell of Chester. Mrs. Meade was one of the original staff nurses at the McGuire U.S. Army Hospital and was a member of Southside Church of the Nazarene. Her remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where the family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, and where a funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday. Interment Sunset Memorial Park.

MOODY
Lucille Levy Moody of Montpelier, Va., widow of John Duke Moody, died May 26, 2002. She is survived by her daughter, Jane Duke Moody Galbraith; son-in-law, Dr. Wayne M. Galbraith; grandson, John M. Galbraith; sister, Jane Levy Malpass; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Rouzie's Chapel United Methodist Church, 21089 Green Bay Road, Beaverdam, Va., where the family will receive friends after 12 noon. Mrs. Moody was a former teacher, having taught several years in the Montpelier School. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to the aforenamed church, of which Mrs. Moody was a life member. Arrangements by the Bliley Funeral Home's Central Chapel.

MORRISON
Kenneth Gordon Morrison, 62, of Chester, died Tuesday, May 28, 2002 in Chippenham Medical Center. He was born in Tazewell Co., Va. and was the son of the late Roy Gibson and Emma Hunt Morrison. He was an active member of Chester Baptist Church and was past president of the Chester Jaycees and past president of the Chester Civitan Club. He was a retired employee of Allied Signal after 30 years of service. He was a coach and referee for many years with the Chester Little League basketball and softball teams. He is survived by his wife, Colleen Morrison; son, Roger Morrison of Virginia Beach; two daughters, Robin Morrison and Deborah Morrison Smith and her husband, Dale, all of Chesterfield; two grandchildren, Grayson and Natalie Smith; three brothers, Douglas Morrison and David Morrison, both of Tazewell and Roy Morrison of Lake City, Fla.; sister, Phyllis Ireson of Tazewell; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a devoted, loving husband, father and Paw Paw. He will be missed dearly on this earth and has gone to heaven above. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Chester Baptist Church with the pastor Dr. Edward J. Stansfield officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Chesterfield Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Chester Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 2370, Chester, Va. 23831.

MOSER
Robert Beaver "OPA" Moser, 80, of Richmond, retired local appraiser, died May 23, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Louise H. Moser; two sons, Thomas R. Moser of Vienna, Austria, and John H. Moser and his wife, Talia; daughter, Robin M. Eshleman and her husband, Erik W. of Dyke, Va.; half-sister, Barbara Oswald of Lyons Station, Pa.; three grandchildren, Gabrielle H. Moser, Sara L. Eshleman and W. Colin Eshleman. Mr. Moser was a CRA, CRB, and a graduate of the Real Estate Institute. He was a salesman of the year of the City of Richmond and the Commonwealth of Virginia and he won the Adrian Bendheim Award. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in Panama and China. He was a 50 year member, elder, deacon, member of the Chancel Choir and past chairman of the board of Seventh Street Christian Church. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd. Graveside services will be held Thursday, 11 a.m., Westhampton Memorial Park.
