KING
Edwin Hubbard King, 87, of Richmond, Va., formerly of Midlothian, Va., died Sunday, February 10, 2002. He was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta Mercer King. He was born on October 12, 1914 in East Hampton, N.Y. Survivors include his brother, Donald P. King and wife, Judy of Amagansett, N.Y., and family; brother, Remington W. King and wife, Mildred of Spotsylvania, Va. and family; brother-in-law, Henry E. Miller of East Hampton, N.Y. and family; and brother-in-law, Roger W. Mercer Jr. and wife, Julia of Richmond, Va. and family. Mr. King attended the University of Florida and served as a Lieutenant in the US Army during WWII. He retired in 1978 as a partner in the architectural firm of Lee, King, Poole & White. Mr. King was a member of the American Institute of architects. He was an active member of Willow Oaks Country Club. The club expressing its appreciation for Mr. King by installing a bronze plaque on the golf course in recognition of his services. He was an avid and excellent golfer. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 15, 2002 at Hollywood Cemetery. The Cremation Society of Virginia is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to your favorite charity.

LOVING
Hiter R. (Buddy) Loving, 68, of Champlain, died Tuesday, February 12, 2002 at home. He was retired from the State Highway Department and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Nancy; a son and his wife, William and Kim Loving of Mechanicsville; two daughters and their husbands, Kathy and Frank Lupini of Richmond, Jo Ellen and William Andrews of Tappahannock. He is also survived by three grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren and his sister and her husband, Doris and Clyde Simms of Boydton. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Marks-Bristow Funeral Home, Tappahannock, where services will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday. Interment Upper King & Queen Baptist Church Cemetery, Helmet. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 40, Champlain, Va. 22438 or Upper King & Queen Baptist Church Cemetery, P.O. Box 40, Newtown, Va. 23126.

LYNCH
James J. Lynch, 74, of Chesterfield, died Monday, February 11, 2002. He was the widower of Doris Lynch. He is survived by his son, Lamar Graves; four daughters, Brenda Carner, Debe Stanley, Carol Olyear and Faye Rhodes; and several grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at Belmont United Methodist Church. Interment Bermuda Memorial Park.

MACKEY
Robert Lee Mackey, 79, of Richmond, passed away Monday, February 11, 2002. He was preceded in death by his son, Roddey E. Mackey; and by his daughters, Lillie M. Matera and Monika Mackey. He is survived by his wife, Augusta Paula Mackey; daughter-in-law, Jearleen Mackey; son-in-law, Bob Matera; grandsons, Robert, John and Michael Matera; granddaughters, Cynthia Scott, Patricia Avalos and Vickie Martin; seven great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2002, at Quantico National Cemetery.

MAGAZINE
Mrs. Earline C. Magazine of Richmond departed this life Sunday, February 10, 2002. She was predeceased by her son, Whirley E. Gregory. She is survived by her husband, Rev. George Magazine; two daughters, Deaconess Vernell J.G. Braxton and Marlene F. Gregory, three grandchildren, Vaughn (Latrice), Ronald and LaTasha Gregory, four great-grandchildren, Kendrick Johnson, Vaughn Gregory Jr., Onyae Bacote and Shondell Curry Jr.; mother, Mildred A. Fountain; sister, Mildred C. Robinson; several aunts and uncles; son-in-law, Sampson Braxton; father-in-law, George Magazine Sr. of Bishopville, S.C.; sister-in-law, Eloise M. Johnson (Leroy) of Bishopville, S.C.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, among them devoted, Deacon Waverly Fountain; other relatives and friends devoted, Genevieve Mann. Remains rest at the Mimms Funeral Home 19th and Hull Streets. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 14, 12 noon. Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Charles City, Va., Rev. George Magazine, pastor, Rev. John J. Thomason, of Bloomfield, N.J. officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. Remains will rest in church one hour prior to services. Relatives and friends attending funeral services assemble at the church Thursday, 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.

MANLEY
M. Inez Manley, 94, of Powhatan, died February 12, 2002. She is survived by two sons, Robert F. Manley of Midlothian and J. Douglas Manley of Powhatan; one daughter, Sandra M. Green of Georgia; two half-sisters, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy. (Rt. 60), Powhatan. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in the May Memorial Baptist Church. Interment Powhatan Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to May Memorial Baptist Church's music ministry.

MORRIS
Minor B. "Jack" Morris, 74, of Sandston, Va., departed this life February 11, 2002. Survivors include his wife, Mary Kay; his son, Brent and his wife, Lisa; his daughter, Janie Starling and her husband, Carey; three grandchildren, Lindsey, Tyler and Ashley; also three sisters and two brothers and a host of nieces and nephews. He was retired from Chrysler Corporation and was a past member of the Eastern Henrico Ruritan Club. The family will receive friends at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 South Laburnum Ave., from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, where services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday. MURRAY
Olga Nahow Murray, 91, of Colonial Heights, died on Sunday, February 10, 2002 at Colonial Heights Convalescent Center after a long illness. She was born in New York and was the daughter of the late Albert and Margaret Beck Nahow. She graduated from Albany Business College and attended the College of Saint Rose. Mrs. Murray was retired in 1986 from the State of New York as an educator and training administrator. Mrs. Murray is survived by her husband, Matthew E. Murray, formerly of Waterford, N.Y.; her sister, Kathleen N. Kammer; and brother, Dr. Theodore Nahow; both of Florida. A service and burial will be held at Hudson View Cemetery, Mechanicville, New York at a future date. Arrangements by the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, Colonial Heights, Va.

NIMMO
Albert T. Nimmo Jr., 73, of Richmond died Tuesday, February 12, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Grace Nimmo. He was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Nimmo; and survived by one son, William Thomas Nimmo; a stepmother, Mabel Nimmo; one sister, Garnett Waters of Richmond; two grandchildren, Michael and Sheila Nimmo; and one great-grandson, Brandon Nimmo; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Nimmo was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Metropolitan Lodge No. 11, the Scottish Rites, and the ACCA Temple. Mr. Nimmo was former owner of Imperial Heating and Air Conditioning, and retired from the sheet metal union No. 100, and attended Northminster Baptist Church. Family will receive friends Wednesday and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Laburnum Chapel Woody Funeral Home, 2110 E. Laburnum Ave, and where services will be held Friday 10 a.m. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery, with Masonic Rites. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Foundation or your favorite charity.

PATTON
Rachel C. Patton, 83, of Stafford, Va., died February 11, 2002 at Mary Washington Hospital, Fredericksburg, Va. Mrs. Patton, the widow of George Patton, is survived by a son, Gerald Patton of Richmond; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be Friday, February 15, 2002 at Falmouth Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with Rev. Jack Hancox officiating. Visitation Thursday, February 14, 2002 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Mullins & Thompson Fredericksburg Chapel. Contributions may be made to the Falmouth Baptist Church Building Fund, 302 Colonial Ave., Falmouth, Va. 22405, or to the rescue squad of choice.

ROBINSON
Lorene C. "Pete" Robinson of Richmond, widow of John Fleming Robinson, died Monday, February 11, 2002. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara G. Robinson; foster daughter, Gloria Rice. Her remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Staples Mill Chapel, 8510 Staples Mill Rd., where the family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Interment church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church, 4210 Penick Rd., Richmond, Va. 23228.

SCHMITT
Robert A. Schmitt Jr., 53, of Richmond, a Chesterfield County school teacher, went to be with the Lord February 11, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Sally Schmitt; stepson, Brian Wilson of Richmond; stepdaughter, Andrea Neibler and her husband, Bill and two grandchildren, Alyssa and Matthew, all of Columbus, Ohio; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.A. Schmitt Sr. of Radnor, Pa.; two aunts, Elizabeth Bogert of Thousand Oaks, Calif. and Gertrude Fitzgibbon of Lakeland, Fla.; one uncle, Ralph Jones of Richmond; and many cousins. He was a graduate of Muhlenberg College, where he received his B.A. degree, and he was a member of Southwest Church of Christ and a member of the Board of Charity Family Life. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd., where services will be held Thursday 11 a.m. Interment will be in Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or the Southwest Church of Christ Building Fund.

SOUTHERLAND

TERRELL
Geraldine Graves Terrell of Chester died Monday, February 11, 2002. She was the widow of Moncrief O. Terrell Jr. and was a member of Chester Presbyterian Church. She is survived by two sons, Robert E. Terrell and his wife, Carol of Apopka, Fla., and Larry Overton Terrell and his wife, Susan of Chesterfield; three sisters, Mary Cooper and Rose Dundalow of Chesterfield and Audrey Sinclair of Chester; and grandchildren, Lisa, Amanda, Andrew, Christopher and Jacob. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, February 15, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at Chester Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Chesterfield Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Everett Smiley Thomas Sr., age 87, of White Stone, Va., died Sunday, February 10, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Roberta R. Thomas; a son and his wife, Everett S. Thomas Jr. and his wife, Barbara Best Thomas; two grandchildren, Warren John Thomas II and Christinia Best Thomas, all of San Juan Capistrano, Calif.; a brother, Clyde Thomas, Washington, Ind.; three sisters, Ruth Gorsage, Kilmarnock, Va., Maxine Killion and Mary Lou Strange, both of Washington, Ind.; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Grace Episcopal Church, Kilmarnock, Va. with interment in Historic Christ Church Burying Ground, Irvington, Va. The family will receive friends 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock, Va. Departed this life February 11, 2002, Mrs. Julia S. Tillman, of 2143 Newbourne Street. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Tillman. She is survived by two daughters, Vonda Gail Tillman and Marsha T. McCreary; one son, Vernon M. Tillman; five grandchildren, Shawn Tillman, Jenay, Ashley and Diane McCreary and Dathene Flowers; two sisters, Irene Davis and Elizabeth Griffin; several nieces, nephews and cousins; one son-in-law, Bernard S. McCreary; sisters-in-law, among them Acile T. Powell; and other relatives and friends, among them devoted Lena Carter and Claude Johnson Jr. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Ave. Funeral Thursday 1 p.m. at Fifth Baptist Church, 1415 W. Cary Street, where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Dr. Earl M. Brown, pastor, officiating. Interment Roselawn Memory Gardens. Eloise L. Vest, 93, of Chesterfield, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 11, 2002. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton Vest. Survivors include her son, Robert L. Vest Sr. and his wife, Virginia, of Chesterfield; two grandchildren, Robbie Vest and his wife, Roni of Spotsylvania, Va. and Sharon Davis and her fiance, Tim Jefferson of Chesterfield; four great-grandchildren, Shelly and Kimberly Vest of Woodbridge, Va. and Eric and Ashley Davis of Chesterfield; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Brijett and Addy Vance of Spotsylvania; one sister, Blue Eyes Smith of Chesterfield; and one brother, Frank E. Lester Sr. and his wife, Hazel of Moseley. Her remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where the family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday at the Second Branch Baptist Church. Interment Church Cemetery.
