Gene M. Clark
REIDSVILLE, N.C. -- Gene Marshall Clark, 62, of 1412 Richardson Drive, died Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at his residence.
Clark was born in Ridgeway, Va., and was preceded in death by his father, Dewey Clark; his mother and stepfather, Pauline Brewster and Jimmy Collier.
Surviving are a son, Shane M. Clark of Reidsville; a daughter, Shannon N. Clark of the home; a granddaughter; one sister, Deborah Davis of Reidsville; three step-brothers Robert Strickert and George Strickert of Anacortes, Wash. and Steven Strickert of Kodiak, Alaska; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Wilkerson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, and other times at the home.

Francis I. Foose
The funeral for Francis I. Foose of 373 Fisher Drive, Martinsville, who died March 2, 2005, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville and Henry County, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Minister Lynn Bechdolt will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park with military honors.
The family will receive friends at the church from 1-2 p.m. Saturday
Memorials may be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 710 West 168th St., New York, N.Y. 10032.
Foose was born in Allentown, Pa., on Nov. 10, 1920, to Irvin Oliver Foose and Blanche Schmick Foose. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepson, Fred William Newman.
He retired from the U.S. Army Infantry Division as an officer during World War II, and worked as an auditor for the U.S. Government DCAA. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his wife, Galilee Black Newman Foose; a daughter, Delores L. Thomas of Palm Harbor, Fla.; a son, Robert H. Foose of Remlap, Ala.; a brother, Robert T. Foose of Lancaster, Pa.; stepdaughter, Brenda N. Jordan of Martinsville; stepson, John A. Newman of Acworth, Ga.; two grandchildren; and 12 step-grandchildren.
McKee-Stone Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.

William McRae
The funeral time for Elder William McRae has been changed from noon to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Pentecostal Assembly Building. McRae, 68, of 238 Callaway Drive, Fieldale, died Feb. 28, 2005.
The body will be placed in the assembly building at 6 p.m. today where the family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. At other times, friends may call at the home.
Hines Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.

Dollie D. Rea
Dollie "Doris" Dillon Rea, 71, of 1106 George Taylor Road, Spencer, died Thursday, March 3, 2005, at her residence.
She was born in Martinsville on June 28, 1933, to Dover Dillon and Artie Lane Dillon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Cleveland junior Martin and Christopher Dale Rea.
She retired from Pulaski Furniture Co. as a molder, where she worked for 12 years, and she was a member of Old Well Christian Church.
Surviving are her husband, William D. Rea; two daughters, Kelley L. Rea of the home and Elizabeth Sue Edwards of Ridgeway; and a son, Jeffrey L. Rea of Spencer.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Old Well Christian Church with Pastor G. Zeke Zanatos officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Community Funeral Services, Ridgeway, is in charge of arrangements.

Betty W. Schoefield
Betty Mae Ward Schoefield, 80, of 74 Abby Lane, Martinsville, died Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.
She was born in Landgraff, W.Va., on Dec. 19, 1924, to Waddy Ward Sr. and Agnes Barrett Ward.
She retired from Amalgamated Cleaning Service where she worked for 20 years, and she was a member of New Light Missionary Baptist Church and the senior choir.
Surviving are a son, Richard Ward of Oxnard, Calif.; and a brother, Charles E. Ward of Martinsville.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at New Light Baptist Church with the Rev. Troy Beasley officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.
The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 p.m. Sunday until time for the funeral, and other times at the home of her brother at 61 Linda Drive, Martinsville.
Hines Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.

Milton A. Stultz
The funeral for Milton Ayers Stultz, 77, of 90 Endless Road, Collinsville, who died Feb. 27, 2005, was held Thursday at McKee-Stone Funeral Services chapel with the Rev. Russell Cheatham officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Burial Park.
Pallbearers were Tyler Dollarhite, Mike Anglin, Curtis Foley, Pegram Martin, Rusty Nuzum, Bernie Lowery, Jesse Cahill, Lynn Gilley and Robert Cobler.

Annie B. Swinney
Annie Belton Swinney, 92, died Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at the Blue Ridge Rehab Center in Martinsville, where she resided.
She was born in Rockingham County, N.C., on Aug. 23, 1912, to James Cleveland Belton and Carrie Lee Hutchinson Belton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. Edward Swinney; a son, James E. Swinney; three sisters, Ida Lee B. Lovelace, Grace B. Austin and Gladys B. White; and a brother, Robert Belton.
She retired from Fieldcrest Mills after 40 years of service. She was a charter member of Clearview Wesleyan Church where she had served in various capacities, and she was active in nursing home visitations.
Surviving are two sons, Ted L. Swinney of Collinsville and Rick A. Swinney of Martinsville; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Norris Funeral Services Chapel with Pastors James Long and Dale Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
Visitation will be held at Norris Funeral Services from 7-8:30 p.m. today.
Memorials may be made to the Blue Ridge Rehab Center, Resident Activity Fund, c/o Julie Garcia, P.O. Box 4904, Martinsville, Va. 24115.

Estelle H. Via
The funeral for Estelle Hall Via, 73, of Stanleytown, who died Feb. 27, 2005, was held March 3, 2005, at Amazing Grace Baptist Church with Pastor Greg Hodges officiating. Burial was in Henry Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Josh Stone, Alan Agee, Harry Via, Dustin Via, Dylan Via and Jeff Via.
Bassett Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.

Leo F. Martin
Leo Frank Martin, 82, of Bassett, died Monday, March 14, 2005, at Franklin Health Care in Rocky Mount.
He was born in Moneta on July 3, 1922, to Reggie Lee Martin and Margaret Martin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Terry Lee Martin, and several brothers and sisters.
He was of the Holiness faith.
Surviving are his wife, Edna H. Martin of the home; a daughter, Sandra M. Wickline of Martinsville; one grandchild; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m. today at Bassett Funeral Service and other times at the home at 68 South St., Bassett. Friends also will be received at the home of his daughter, 208 Blue Spruce Drive, Martinsville.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral service's chapel with Brother Harry Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in Old Center Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pedro A. Mejia
Pedro Angel Mejia, 55, of Collinsville, died Saturday, March 12, 2005, at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Arrangements will be announced by Bassett Funeral Service.
