ROBERTSON
Grace B. Robertson, 104, of Richmond, died Tuesday, January 16, 2001. She was the widow of James Benjamin Robertson. She is survived by her daughter, Dean Smith; two nephews, Forrest C. Bailey III and Dean L. (Billy) Mountcastle; and several great-nieces and nephews. Her remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Central Chapel, 3801 Augusta Ave., where the family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. Graveside service will be held 12 p.m. Thursday at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Robertson was a member of First Church Christ, Scientist. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Children's Hospital.

RUDD
Louis L. Rudd, 87, of Richmond, died Tuesday, January 16, 2001. He is survived by a number of devoted friends. Mr. Rudd was a longtime employee of Talley Sign Co., where he was also known as "Mr. Neon". Remains rest at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave., where friends will be received on Thursday. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 19, in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

SACRA
Arnold H. Sacra, 76, of Richmond, died Wednesday, January 17, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Ann S. Sacra; a sister, Lillian S. Tingle; a cousin, Gordon Sacra; nieces, Linda T. Searles and Debbie Farnash; two nephews, Gene Farnash and Donald Redford. Mr. Sacra was retired from C & P Telephone Company and was a member of the VFW and Loyal Order of Moose. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Parham Chapel Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd. where services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday with interment in Riverview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Lakeside Volunteer Rescue Squad.

SALA
The Rev. Robert R. Sala, 88, of Richmond, died Monday, January 15, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Hilda B. Sala; a daughter, Lois S. Giles and her husband, William; sons, Edward Ross Sala and his wife, Renee and David Robert Sala; grandchildren, Steven, Richard, Michael and Diane Giles, and Emma Sala; a great-grandson, Cole Giles. Rev. Sala was a graduate of Susquehanna University and Gettysburg Seminary. He served as pastor of Epiphany Lutheran Church in Richmond from 1952 until his retirement in 1977 and also served nine years on the executive board of the Virginia Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. He was the longtime chaplain of the Tuckahoe Volunteer Rescue Squad from its organization until his retirement in 1977. A memorial service will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday at Epiphany Lutheran Church, Monument Avenue and Horsepen Road, with a reception to follow at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of Epiphany Lutheran Church. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of Bon Secours Hospice.

SCHALLA
Elizabeth B. Schalla, 71, of Richmond, died January 16, 2001. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald P. Schalla. She is survived by two daughters, Donna L. Schalla, Susan S. Mickey; a brother, Thomas P. Beale Jr.; and three grandchildren, Jonathan, Ben and Daniel Mickey. Her remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull St. Rd., where the family will receive friends Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Southminster Presbyterian Church, with interment in Dale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hospice of Central Virginia or Southminster Presbyterian Church.

SEKERDY
Alexander (Alex) Sekerdy Sr., 76, of Richmond, Va., died Tuesday, January 16, 2001. He was preceded in death by a son, George Sekerdy and is survived by his wife, Eleanor Yarborough Sekerdy; six children, Virginia N. Cline, Steve, Alex Jr., Wayne, David and Daniel Sekerdy; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Sekerdy was the former owner and operator of Alex's Men's Hairstyling in Westbury Shopping Center for 25 years, and a member of Grove Avenue Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Parham Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Road, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday. Interment Greenwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

STEPHENS
Marion Coleman Pitts Stephens, 78, died Tuesday, January 16, 2001, at a local hospital. She is survived by her husband, James T. Stephens; her niece, Marion "Mishie" S. Bacot of Beulaville, N.C.; and a nephew, Robert Arnold Small Jr. of Richmond, Va. Marion was born in Charlotte, N.C., graduated from Duke University, and during WWII she was employed by the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey. She was a member of The Woman's Club and The Thomas Jefferson Garden Club. Marion enjoyed gardening, bridge and travel. In recent years she resided at the Hermitage at Cedarfield. The funeral service will be held at the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 West Broad Street Road, 10:30 a.m. today with interment to follow in Hollywood Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Hermitage at Cedarfield, 2300 Cedarfield Pkwy., Richmond, Virginia 23233.

TERRELL
Departed this life January 12, 2001, Deborah Lucille Terrell. She is survived by her fiance, Wilbert Jefferson; son, Maurice Jefferson; sister, Trecilla Thompson; four brothers, Lorenzo, Kenny, Allen and Kim Terrell; two sisters-in-law, Lynn Terrell of Petersburg and Brenda Clark of Richmond; a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Remains rest at the Chiles Funeral Home, 2100 Fairmount Ave. Funeral services will be held on Friday 12 noon from the Church of God of Prophecy, 12th and Decatur Streets, Jannie J. Jackson, pastor. THOMAS
Hunter Scott Thomas, infant son of Will Thomas and Allison Thomas, died January 17, 2001. Besides his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandparents, Bill and Mary Ann Dowd Walton of Richmond; his paternal grandparents, Raymond and Ann Thomas of Franklin; great-grandparents, Frank and Nellie Dowd, J.W. and Mae Walton; several aunts, uncles, and cousins, and the staff at Children's Hospital of Kings Daughters. Hunter was predeceased by a brother, William Wyatt Thomas. A visitation will be held at Wright Funeral Home on Thursday (today) January 18, 2001 at 7 p.m. Burial service will be held at Providence Methodist Church in Richmond at 2 p.m. Friday, January 19, 2001. The family suggests that memorials be made to Children's Hospital of Kings Daughters or Ronald McDonald House in Norfolk, Va.

TINSLEY-ROZELLE
Shirley Tinsley Rozelle of San Diego, Calif., passed away on Friday, January 12, 2001. She was the daughter of the late Philip M. Tinsley Sr. and his wife, Maude Herndon Tinsley of Richmond, Va. Born and raised in Richmond, Mrs. Rozelle relocated to San Diego with her husband, William B. (Dutch) Rozelle. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her brother, Philip M. Tinsley Jr. and his wife, Dottie O'Neil Tinsley; close friend and sister-in-law, Thelma H. Tinsley, all of Midlothian, Va.; son, James; daughter, Tammy of La Jolla, Calif.; and niece, Debra L. Tinsley and her husband, Ronald R. Rinker of Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif. A private memorial service was held in Bonita, Calif. Arrangements by Glen Abbey Mortuary, Bonita, Calif.

WHITLOCK
Mildred Schools Whitlock, 85, of Ashland, widow of Woodrow Wilson Whitlock, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2001. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Ronald Warren Duling (Ronnie). She is survived by her daughters, Myrtle W. Duling and her husband, Warren Stone Duling (Skit) of Hanover, and Mildred W. Kibler, and a special son-in-law, Joseph O. Kibler; five grandchildren, Anne Page Loving, Sophie Grider, Michael Duling, Glenn Kibler and Michelle Martin; five great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Megan and Caitlin Loving, Kandace Kibler and Cody Duling. Her remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Staples Mill Chapel, 8510 Staples Mill Rd., where the family will receive friends Thursday and Friday from 12 Noon till 8:30 p.m., and where services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. Interment Woodland Cemetery, Ashland, Va. The family requests that donations be made to the Ashland Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 667, Ashland, Va. 23005.

BOILEAU
Helen Booth Brewer Boileau, widow of Walter E. Boileau, passed away on October 8, 2001. Her first husband, Dr. Andrew E. Brewer, died in 1960. Mrs. Boileau was a member of Ginter Park Baptist Church for over 60 years, a charter member of Blanche Spencer Chapter #11 OES and a member of the Order of the Amaranth. For 34 years, she was a volunteer on the paraplegic ward at McGuire Veterans Hospital. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and William Kerner; her grandchildren, Will Kerner and Catherine Dee, Thane and Loaina Kerner, Hilary Kerner and Caroline Shears; and her companion, Hazel Childress. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd. A memorial service will be held at Ginter Park Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Friday. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ginter Park Baptist Church or a favorite charity.

Irene Wallner Bolt, 65, of Richmond, died October 22, 2001. She was a loving sister, mother and grandmother. Survivors include two daughters, Tara B. Little and her husband, John V. Little of Charlottesville and Anna B. Widdowson and her husband, Blake R. Widdowson of Richmond; four grandchildren, Cory R. Widdowson and Haley B. Widdowson of Richmond, Elizabeth S. Little and John V. Little Jr. of Charlottesville; and a sister, Anna W. Stiles and her husband, G.E.R. Stiles of Ashland. A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, October 25 at Oakwood Cemetery, Pulaski, Va. at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Welborne United Methodist Church, 920 Maybeury Dr., Richmond, Va. 23229 or a charity of your choice.

Robert Allen Brown Sr., age 74, of Richmond, departed this life on October 16, 2001. He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife, Ruthie C. Brown; two sons, Robert Allen Brown Jr., Robert Allen Cosby; one daughter, Dorothy A. Morris; one stepdaughter, Thomascine Cosby and stepson, Jason Cosby; 13 grandchildren; four sisters, one devoted, Mary B. Lee; five brothers; one aunt, Mrs. Beatrice Mayo; several nieces and several cousins, mother-in-law, sister and brother-in-law, and son-in-law. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11 a.m. at K.L. Rosa Edgar Pollard Chenault, age 98, widow of Charles D. Chenault, died Sunday, October 21, 2001 at the Hermitage. She is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Remains rest at the Laburnum Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 2110 E. Laburnum Ave., where the family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. Graveside services will be held 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in Oakwood Cemetery.

Deacon Arthur A. Christian, of Quinton, Va., departed this life October 22, 2001. He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Christian; two sons, Lawrence and Kenneth (Myrtle) Christian; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Monroe and Roger Christian; one sister, Eunice Booker; a host of nieces and nephews; three sisters-in-law, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Walter J. Manning Funeral, 700 N. 25th St. Remains will lie in state Thursday, 1 p.m. at Lebanon Baptist Church, Hopewell Rd., Tunstall, Va., where funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Rev. W.H.
