OSBORNE
Dewey A. (Red) Osborne of Chester died Monday, August 26, 2002. Mr. Osborne was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in combat. Mr. Osborne retired from E.I. Dupont as a construction superintendent after 22 years of service and from the Chesterfield County Building Inspections Department after 10 years as a building inspector. He was predeceased by his first wife, Ealnor S. Osborne; and two daughters, Janet O. Thompson and Linda O. Ellingsworth. He is survived by his wife, Velma Miles Osborne; two daughters, Patricia O. Mohr and Marsha Osborne; a son, Stan V. Barnett; a sister, Barbara Henderson; a brother, Richard Osborne; granddaughters, Windsor Barnett, Beth Gillis, Sarah Lail and Claudia Lail; grandsons, Jason Cottrell and Michael Ellingsworth; great-granddaughter, Amanda Ellingsworth; and a great-grandson, Ethan Gillis. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 28, 2002, 6 to 8 p.m. at the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights. A graveside funeral service will be held Thursday, 11 a.m. in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National D-Day Memorial Foundation, P.O. Box 77, Bedford, Va. 24523 or to the American Cancer Society, 4240 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, Va. 23060.

Departed this life August 27, 2002, Mrs. Evelyn V. Otey of Richmond. Remains rest at Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 N. 25th St. Funeral notice later.

PAPPAGALLO
Antonio John Pappagallo died August 26, 2002. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Lorraine Meador Pappagallo; his brothers, John and Mario; and his beloved beagle dogs, Rex and Buddy. He is survived by his daughter, Toni Theresa Burnette; a son-in-law, John Harris Burnette; a brother, Ignatius (Nick) Pappagallo of North Arlington, N.J.; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Ronnie Pappagallo of Glen Rock, N.J.; numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Born in New York City, Mr. Pappagallo lived his early life in New Jersey. He volunteered for the CCC, working in the forests of Oregon and Washington State. He served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during WWII in France and Germany. A proud member of the U.S. Postal Service, he retired after 30 years at the Kearny, N.J. post office. After moving to Virginia in 1973, he retired from the J.C. Penney Catalog Department/Willow Lawn after 10 years. He was a member of St. Stephen's Parish in Kearny, N.J. and Our Lady of Lourdes in Richmond, where he served with the Human Concerns Committee. He was also a member of the D.A.V., V.F.W. and the A.P.W.U. His family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd., where services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday. Interment Greenwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Human Concerns Committee or Bon Secours Hospice, or the animal shelter of your choice.

POWERS
Patricia Yvonne Powers, 64, of Richmond, a devoted wife, mother and friend, went to be with the Lord Monday, August 26, 2002. She is survived by her husband, William F. "Billy" Powers; sons, Ronald Edward and Timothy Eugene Rice; brother, Kenneth W. Cobb; and grandchildren, Brandon and Heather Rice. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, followed by a WOTM Memorial Service at 8 p.m., at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10). PRICE
Weldon L. "Bill" Price of Chesterfield died August 26, 2002. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Price; and brothers, Ron and Jim Price. He is survived by his wife, Christine W. Price; sons, Robert and Tony Price; his brother, Gerald Price; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mr. Price had been a car salesman since 1969. His remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where the family will receive friends 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday. Interment Dale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Manchester Volunteer Rescue Squad.

Margaret Helen Reams, 83, of Richmond, died Monday, August 26, 2002. She is survived by her husband, Elwood H. (Ted) Reams; her son, Dr. Steven H. Reams and his wife, Shawn of Williamsburg. Remains rest at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave., where the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 29 in Riverview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the West End Volunteer Rescue Squad.

SCHAAF
Charles Edward Schaaf, age 81, of Richmond, died Monday, August 26, 2002. He was the son of the late Charlie H. and Emily K. Schaaf and is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Hazel K. Schaaf; two daughters, Sandra S. Hutcher and her husband, Neil Hutcher, M.D. and Carla A. Schaaf; two granddaughters, Hilary H. Surratt and Meredith Hutcher; and two great-grandchildren, Jordyn Ann Surratt and Caleb Hutcher, all of Richmond. Mr. Schaaf was the retired President of the W. Wallace Neale Company, Inc., a local manufacturer's representative for heating and power plant equipment. He was a life member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, Pi Tau Sigma, National Mechanical Engineering Honorary Fraternity and a former member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers. Mr. Schaaf taught night school at the Virginia Mechanics Institute in the 1950s. He was an avid golfer and was a life member and past president of the Richmond Country Club, a member and past president of the Metro Richmond Three Score Golf Association and a member of the USGA. He spent many hours as a philatelist. Mr. Schaaf was also a 50 year member of Northside Lodge No. 292 AF&AM and Richmond Scottish Rite Bodies. He graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1943 with a Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Mr. Schaaf was a member of the Legacy Society of Virginia Tech and was a Golden Hokie. He served in the Coast Artillery and Signal Corps as a first lieutenant during WWII. Mr. Schaaf was a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church and had served as the president of the Church Council. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Epiphany Lutheran Church, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 28. Interment in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be given to Epiphany Lutheran Church Endowment Fund, 1400 Horsepen Rd., Richmond, Va. 23226; Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University - College of Engineering, 333 Norris Hall, Blacksburg, Va. 24061; or Tuckahoe Volunteer Rescue Squad, 1101 Horsepen Rd., Richmond, Va. 23229.

SIEVERS
Lillian Gregory Sievers, 86, of Lakeland, Fla., died of Alzheimer's disease, August 25, 2002. She was the daughter of the late F. Williams and Elsie Sievers. Services will be in Richmond announced at a later date. Arrangements by the Bliley Funeral Homes.

SIXBEY
Dolores M. Sixbey, of Penfield, N.Y. and formerly of Richmond, Va., died August 25, 2002. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack. Dolores is sadly missed by her children, Linda Jones (Gary), Susan Sixbey and Michael Sixbey; four grandchildren, Stephen and Elizabeth Jones, Julie and Caitlin Sixbey; brother, Jack Premielewski (Barbara); sister-in-law, Anna Premielewski; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday (today) at Nulton, Mattle, & Ashton Funeral Home, 1704 Penfield Rd., Penfield, N.Y. 14526 (585-381-3900). Ronald Lewis Strange, 52, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2002. He is survived by his wife LaQuinta Strange; two daughters, Scheketha Anderson and Jacqueline Strange; son, Shawn Malone; three grandchildren, three brothers, two sisters, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at the Mimms Funeral Home, 19th and Hull Streets where the family will receive friends Wednesday, 7 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 29, 11 a.m., New Deliverance Evangelistic Church, 1701 Turner Road. Betty Campbell Taylor, 64, of Richmond, went home to be with the Father on August 25, 2002. She is survived by Douglas W. Campbell; children, Robert Campbell, Geneva Lawson and her husband, Fred and Celina Campbell; five grandchildren, one devoted granddaughter, Dalisa R. Campbell; one great-grandson; three sisters, Mildred Paul, Jane White of Greensboro, N.C. and Estelle Berry; other family members and friends, one devoted friend, Betsy Gold. Wright, Dana B. Daniel and her husband, Timmy, Becky T. Bray and her husband, Jamie, Roger A. (Rusty) Toth II and his wife, Shana; great-grandchildren, Clark, Jackie, D.J., Dayle, Jeb and Tuff; stepgreat-granddaughters, Nikki Lester and her husband, Andy, Jamie and Kelley; stepgreat-great-granddaughter, Ashley and her four-legged family member, Fancey; brother, James H. Bernice H. Vick, 91, of Suffolk, passed away on August 27, 2002. She is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Willy J. Harrell. Mrs. Vick was a member of Windsor Baptist Church. She retired from Standard Coffee Company with 20 years of service. Mrs. Vick is survived by her sisters, Lois H. Barnes of Jarrett, Va., Nellie H. Butler of Carrsville, Va., Helen H. Bales of Memphis, Tenn. and Theresa H. Elliott of Emporia, Va.; and brother, Horace W. Harrell of Jarrett, Va. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, August 29, 2002 at Kellum Funeral Home, Rosewood Chapel. Interment will be private at Rosewood Memorial Park. Mary W. Watson, 90, of Lunenburg County, widow of William T. "Bill" Watson, died August 26, 2002. She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth W. "Betty" Inge of Chesterfield; three grandchildren, Jennifer I. Renshaw of Midlothian, Teresa I. Sharpe of Nashville, Tenn., Suzanne M. Inge, fourth year student at University of Virginia, Charlottesville; seven great-grandchildren, Kevin, Brandon, Zachary and Colby Renshaw, Trevor, Kyle and Lillian Sharpe. She was predeceased by a son, W.T. Watson Jr. "Bill Jr." The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Newcomb Allgood Davis Funeral Home, where services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, with the Reverend Coan Agee officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 73 Meherrin River Road, Chase City, Va. 23924. Mrs. Watson was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church for over 60 years.
