MOSHER
Russell B Mosher, 85, of Midlothian, went to be with his Lord on April 24, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Reavice Ancarrow Mosher; sons, Dennis Mosher, Robert Mosher and his wife, April; stepchildren, Sandra Fortune and her husband, Stanley, Linda Hirsch, Georgia Langford and her husband, William, Thomas Hirsch and his wife, Cathi, Kelley Polyak and his wife, Ellen; three grandchildren, 14 stepgrandchildren, and four stepgreat-grandchildren. Mr. Mosher was a retiree of Eastman Kodak with 35 years of service. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and his funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt.10). Interment will be at Dale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Manchester Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 198, Chesterfield, Va. 23832.

OWEN
Everett Montague Owen, an insurance executive and former Richmond resident, died Monday, April 23, 2001, of cancer at his home in West Palm Beach, Fla. He was 88. Mr. Owen was born and raised on West Avenue in Richmond. He attended the McGuire School and graduated from Hampden-Sydney College in 1935. Mr. Owen joined Davenport Insurance Corporation, eventually becoming its president. When Davenport was acquired by Marsh and McLennan, he became senior vice president, retiring in 1977. He served in the US Navy during World War II. Mr. Owen's primary interests outside of business were boating, flying, golf, tennis, and real estate. He is survived by his wife, Chestine L. Owen, whom he married in 1972. He is also survived by two sons from his previous marriage to Martha Scott Watkins, Lee Scott Owen and Everett Montague Owen Jr., both of Baltimore, Md. A third son, Samuel Watkins Owen, preceded him in death. Remains rest at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave., where the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and where services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 27. Interment in Hollywood Cemetery.

PITTMAN
Linwood Pittman Jr., of Richmond, died April 24, 2001. Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd. Funeral notice later.

POWER
William Brooke Power, a lifelong resident of Richmond, died Sunday, April 22, 2001. The son of Ann Catlett Power and Raymond C. Power, he was 62. Mr. Power was educated in Virginia schools, graduating from St. Christopher's School in 1956, the University of Virginia in 1964. While an undergraduate at the University, he captained the baseball team and was a member of Phi Kappa Sigma. After graduation he served in the US Coast Guard. Mr. Power was associated with the Reynolds Metals Company for 18 years, and more recently with the Virginia Business Exchange at Anderson & Strudwick. Mr. Power was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, The Society of the Cincinnati, The Jamestown Society, The Virginia Historical Society, The American Daffodil Society, and the County Club of Virginia. Mr. Power, an avid sportsman, was a member and longtime President of the Powhatan Hunt Club, and was also a member of the Chickahominy Waterfowlers Association. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Leslie Jones Power; a son, William Timothy Power of Richmond; a daughter, Ashley Power O'Connor of Alexandria, Virginia; and two sisters, Ann Brooke Mason of Providence, R.I. and Elise Power Quimby of Bridgehampton, N.Y. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in Hollywood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the University of Virginia or your favorite charity. The Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave., is handling arrangements.

REDFORD
Ernest B. Redford Jr., 80, of Richmond, a retired Reynolds Metals and Commonwealth of Virginia employee, departed from this life Tuesday, April 24, 2001 in a local hospital. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Maxine Belcher Redford; one daughter, Susan R. Ferguson and her husband, William H. Ferguson II of Varina; two grandchildren, Courtney and Ryan Ferguson; and a sister, Fay R. Gardner and her husband, Joseph P. Gardner. Mr. Redford attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute and served in the US Coast Guard during World War II. He was a member of Metropolitan Lodge No.11 A.F.& A.M., Meridian Lodge No.284, A.F.& A.M., Glen Allen Lodge No.131 A.F.& A.M., and Hellenic Lodge No.249 A.F.& A.M. Mr. Redford was Past Master of several lodges. The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 26, at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave., with a Masonic memorial service to follow at 7:30 p.m. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Masonic Home of Virginia, 4101 Nine Mile Rd., Richmond, Va., 23223

RICHARDSON
Mildred Mallory Richardson, of Richmond, widow of Leroy F. Richardson Sr., died Sunday, April 22, 2001. She is survived by two children and their spouses, Betsey R. and Peter Heyl of Midlothian, Leroy F. and Patricia Richardson Jr. of Ashland; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Richardson was a member of St. Mathews Espicopal Church and retired from Hunton and Williams. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Parham Chapel Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd. Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Westhampton Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Tuckahoe Volunteer Rescue Squad.

ROBINS
Dicey Ann Mullins Robins, 90, of Richmond, widow of John William Robins, died April 23, 2001. She was a daughter of the late Joshua and Elizabeth Grizzel Mullins. She is survived by her sister, Ida M. Murphey; sister-in-law, Marie H. Mullins; numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Robins served as a first lieutenant during WWII in the Army Nurse Corps and she retired from the McGuire V.A. Hospital after 30 years of service as a registered nurse. Her remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Staples Mill Chapel, 8510 Staples Mill Road, where the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and where services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. Entombment Signal Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum, Hanover. Contributions may be made to the Lakeside United Methodist Church, 2333 Hilliard Road, Richmond.

ROMAN
Juan Roman, of Richmond, died April 24, 2001. Arrangements by Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd.

SEAY
Eloise King Seay, of Mechanicsville, departed this earth, April 22, 2001 after a long illness. Mrs. Seay was born on October 26, 1917 in Mecklenburg County, Va. She worked for B.T. Crump Company for 21 years and formerly owned and operated The Blair House, Home for Adults for 22 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter W. Seay Sr. and is survived by one daughter, Jeanne Grady of Goochland; two sons, Walter W. Seay Jr. of Richmond and Robert M. Seay Sr. of Mechanicsville; 13 grandchildren, Robert B. Seay, Mason Seay, Mary Gordon Seay, James Grady Jr., John A. Grady, Judy Grady, Sherry Slay, Robert M. Seay Jr., Jeffery S. Seay, Amy Seay, Mary Seay, Jamie Seay and Megan Seay; five great-grandchildren, Connor Slay, Fisher Slay, Boden Slay, Hunter Seay and Hannah Seay; one sister, Betty Robertson of Mechanicsville; and one sister-in-law, Bertha King of Goochland. Funeral services will be held 12:30 p.m., Wednesday at Bliley Funeral Home's Central Chapel, 3801 Augusta Ave., Richmond. Interment Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

SIMONS
Mary Brooks Simons went to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 23, 2001. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Walter Raymond Simons; her special friends, Peggy Ellis Turner, Verna L. Hardy, Sonny L. Parsley; several nieces and nephews. She was a life long member of Leigh Street Baptist Church, a devoted wife, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her remains rest at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday and where funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

SMITH
Mrs. Maria B. Smith. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2001 at Zion Hill Presbyterian Church, Amelia, Va. Route 614.

SPAIN
Russell Melvin Spain, a native of Petersburg, died suddenly April 24, 2001. He is survived by two daughters, Kristina S. Mednikov and her husband, Robert and Lisa C. Spain; one son, Russell Melvin Spain III; granddaughter, Emma C. Mednikov; grandson, Thomas J. Mednikov; a stepdaughter, Jennie Tomlin-Phipps and her husband, Scott; two step-grandchildren; a brother, Charles W. Spain; a sister, Rebecca S. Bish. Mr. Spain was retired from Phillip-Morris with over 30 years of service. Remains rest at the Central Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave., where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Funeral notice later.

STEVENS
E. Lindsey Stevens, age 44, died April 22, 2001 in San Francisco, Calif. She was a graduate of James Madison University and Peabody College of Nashville, Tenn. She is survived by her parents, Rev. and Mrs. Arthur H. Stevens Jr. of Rice; two sisters, Dru Stevens of Richmond, Martha and husband, Talmadge Daniel of Mechanicsville; two nieces, Caitlin and Colleen Daniel of Mechanicsville. Graveside services 2 p.m. Friday at the Jamestown Presbyterian Church at Rice. No public visitation at the funeral home. TAYLOR, JAMES M. James (Mike) Taylor Sr., departed this life April 21, 2001 at his home. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife, Thelma C. Taylor; and stepmother, Clara Jackson. He is also survived by seven devoted sons, James Taylor Jr. (Rajean) of Alexandria, Va., Gerald Taylor (Susan) of Jacksonville, Fla., Purcell Taylor of Pensacola, Fla., Jonathan Taylor (Sylvia), John Coppedge III (Janice), Anthony and Delbert Coppedge, both of Richmond; six devoted daughters, Charmaine Mills, Pauletta James (Larry Sr.), Dorothy Taylor of Chester, Pa., Joann Lowe (Willie) of Jacksonville, Fla., Angela Hunter of Odenton, Md., Margaretta Patterson; one brother, Leroy Taylor (Mable); sister, Louise Morgan (Sammie); sisters-in-law, Mamie B. Terry and Dorothy Stokes; three very special grandsons, Maurice and Cameron Coppedge and Larry D. James Jr.; a host of other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at the Chiles Funeral Home, 2100 Fairmount Ave. Eulogistic services will be held on Thursday, 12 noon, from First African Baptist Church, 2700 Haines Ave., with Rev. Bette Watlington, 73, of Richmond, died Saturday, April 21, 2001. She is survived by her brother, Dr. Paul B. Watlington Jr. and his wife, Lelia; nieces, Judy Hudgins, Ann Watlington; and a great-niece, Carson Shuchang Watlington; nephews, Paul B. Watlington III and Samuel Artz Watlington; a cousin, Gladys Smith; and a sister by choice, Jo Belcher; also many devoted friends. Bette was a graduate of Madison College and a 35 year employee of the Baptist Bookstore. She was also an active member of First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Road. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. WEAGLEY
Mildred P. Weagley, 74, of Highland Springs, passed away April 24, 2001. She was the widow of William C. Weagley and had retired as Assistant Vice President with Nations Bank in Richmond. Survivors include two sons, Reginald T. Pratt Jr. of Lanham, Md. and Clarence D. Pratt Sr. of Blackstone; a daughter, Billie Lee Lawhon of Kenbridge; two sisters, her twin, Rose Hicks Farmer of Bowling Green and Ann Hicks Tate of Ruther Glen; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 26, 2001 at 2 p.m. in the Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bon Secours Hospice, 5008 Monument Ave., Richmond, Va. 23230.

WETHERHOLT
Ruby Virginia Sheffield Wetherholt, 87, died Monday, April 23, 2001 at Waverly Healthcare Center. A native of Waverly, she was the daughter of the late Edwin Benjamin Sheffield and Della Grammer Sheffield. She and her husband, Basil Lester Wetherholt, recently moved to Waverly from Huntington, W.Va. Mrs. Wetherholt was a member of Waverly Cong. Christian Church. Graveside services will be Thursday, April 26, 2001 at 11 a.m. at Waverly Cemetery, Waverly, Va., with the Rev. Philip Elliott and the Rev. Jim Smith officiating. Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the Waverly Cong. Christian Church, P.O. Box 636, Waverly, Va. 23890 or Waverly Vol. Rescue Squad.
