MOSHER
Russell B Mosher, 85, of Midlothian, went to be with his Lord on April 24, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Reavice Ancarrow Mosher; sons, Dennis Mosher, Robert Mosher and his wife, April; stepchildren, Sandra Fortune and her husband, Stanley, Linda Hirsch, Georgia Langford and her husband, William, Thomas Hirsch and his wife, Cathi, Kelley Polyak and his wife, Ellen; three grandchildren, 14 stepgrandchildren, and four stepgreat-grandchildren. Mr. Mosher was a retiree of Eastman Kodak with 35 years of service. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and his funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt.10). Interment will be at Dale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Manchester Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 198, Chesterfield, Va. 23832.
OWEN
Everett Montague Owen, an insurance executive and former Richmond resident, died Monday, April 23, 2001, of cancer at his home in West Palm Beach, Fla. He was 88. Mr. Owen was born and raised on West Avenue in Richmond. He attended the McGuire School and graduated from Hampden-Sydney College in 1935. Mr. Owen joined Davenport Insurance Corporation, eventually becoming its president. When Davenport was acquired by Marsh and McLennan, he became senior vice president, retiring in 1977. He served in the US Navy during World War II. Mr. Owen's primary interests outside of business were boating, flying, golf, tennis, and real estate. He is survived by his wife, Chestine L. Owen, whom he married in 1972. He is also survived by two sons from his previous marriage to Martha Scott Watkins, Lee Scott Owen and Everett Montague Owen Jr., both of Baltimore, Md. A third son, Samuel Watkins Owen, preceded him in death. Remains rest at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave., where the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and where services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 27. Interment in Hollywood Cemetery.
PITTMAN
Linwood Pittman Jr., of Richmond, died April 24, 2001. Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd. Funeral notice later.
POWER
William Brooke Power, a lifelong resident of Richmond, died Sunday, April 22, 2001. The son of Ann Catlett Power and Raymond C. Power, he was 62. Mr. Power was educated in Virginia schools, graduating from St. Christopher's School in 1956, the University of Virginia in 1964. While an undergraduate at the University, he captained the baseball team and was a member of Phi Kappa Sigma. After graduation he served in the US Coast Guard. Mr. Power was associated with the Reynolds Metals Company for 18 years, and more recently with the Virginia Business Exchange at Anderson & Strudwick. Mr. Power was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, The Society of the Cincinnati, The Jamestown Society, The Virginia Historical Society, The American Daffodil Society, and the County Club of Virginia. Mr. Power, an avid sportsman, was a member and longtime President of the Powhatan Hunt Club, and was also a member of the Chickahominy Waterfowlers Association. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Leslie
Jones Power; a son, William Timothy Power of Richmond; a daughter, Ashley Power O'Connor of Alexandria, Virginia; and two sisters, Ann Brooke Mason of Providence, R.I. and Elise Power Quimby of Bridgehampton, N.Y. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in Hollywood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the University of Virginia or your favorite charity. REDFORD
Ernest B. Redford Jr., 80, of Richmond, a retired Reynolds Metals and Commonwealth of Virginia employee, departed from this life Tuesday, April 24, 2001 in a local hospital. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Maxine Belcher Redford; one daughter, Susan R. Ferguson and her husband, William H. Ferguson II of Varina; two grandchildren, Courtney and Ryan Ferguson; and a sister, Fay R. Gardner and her husband, Joseph P. Gardner. Mr. Redford attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute and served in the US Coast Guard during World War II. He was a member of Metropolitan Lodge No.11 A.F.& A.M., Meridian Lodge No.284, A.F.& A.M., Glen Allen Lodge No.131 A.F.& A.M., and Hellenic Lodge No.249 A.F.& A.M. Mr. Redford was Past Master of several lodges. Mildred Mallory Richardson, of Richmond, widow of Leroy F. Richardson Sr., died Sunday, April 22, 2001. She is survived by two children and their spouses, Betsey R. and Peter Heyl of Midlothian, Leroy F. and Patricia Richardson Jr. of Ashland; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Richardson was a member of St. Mathews Espicopal Church and retired from Hunton and Williams. Dicey Ann Mullins Robins, 90, of Richmond, widow of John William Robins, died April 23, 2001. She was a daughter of the late Joshua and Elizabeth Grizzel Mullins. She is survived by her sister, Ida M. Murphey; sister-in-law, Marie H. Mullins; numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Robins served as a first lieutenant during WWII in the Army Nurse Corps and she retired from the McGuire V.A. Hospital after 30 years of service as a registered nurse. Eloise King Seay, of Mechanicsville, departed this earth, April 22, 2001 after a long illness. Mrs. Seay was born on October 26, 1917 in Mecklenburg County, Va. She worked for B.T. Crump Company for 21 years and formerly owned and operated The Blair House, Home for Adults for 22 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter W. Seay Sr. and is survived by one daughter, Jeanne Grady of Goochland; two sons, Walter W. Seay Jr. of Richmond and Robert M. Seay Sr. of Mechanicsville; 13 grandchildren, Robert B. Seay, Mason Seay, Mary Gordon Seay, James Grady Jr., John A. Grady, Judy Grady, Sherry Slay, Robert M. Seay Jr., Jeffery S. Mary Brooks Simons went to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 23, 2001. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Walter Raymond Simons; her special friends, Peggy Ellis Turner, Verna L. Hardy, Sonny L. Parsley; several nieces and nephews. She was a life long member of Leigh Street Baptist Church, a devoted wife, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
