WICKLINE
Dan Wickline died April 23, 2001 at age 92. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Loftin and is survived by his daughters, Susan W. McCray, Nancy K. Wickline and Mary Patricia Wyman and her husband, Daniel; grandchildren, David F. Willis, Kimberly M. Wyman, Amy E. Wyman and Christopher K. McCray; nephew, David P. Wickline III; and niece, Hannah Wickline. Mr. Wickline was a WWII veteran, serving as a lieutenant with the U.S. Navy Construction Battalion. He graduated from VPI and was a member of the National Honor Society. He retired from the State of Virginia as an architect previously in private practice. Graveside services will be held in Lynchburg, Va. at Presbyterian Cemetery on Friday, April 27 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Red Cross. The family will receive friends at the home on Nottoway Ave. on Thursday evening, 6 to 9 p.m.

ALLEN
Mrs. Maxine Hawks Allen, 83, of Blackstone, died Saturday, July 20, 2002. Mrs. Allen taught for many years at Blackstone elementary School, subsequently becoming principal. She then spent several years as Superintendent of Elementary Education for Nottoway County. She was a charter member of Tau Chapter, Delta Kappa Gamma, honorary teacher's sorority. She was a longtime member of Blackstone Baptist Church, where she served for many years as a Sunday School teacher. Mrs. Allen is survived by her husband, N. Burton Allen; a sister, Edith Hawks Hobgood; and a niece, Ann Hobgood Mahaney, both of Blackstone; and a nephew, David Hobgood of Miramar, Fla. The family will receive friends at the Hamner-McMillian Funeral Home, Monday, 7 to 8:30 p.m. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m. in Lakeview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Nottoway County Emergency Squad, or the Blackstone Baptist Church Building Fund.

BEANE
Richard Hobart Hunter Beane, 99, of Miskimon, died July 20, 2002. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Annie Laurie Haynie Beane; a son and daughter-in-law, B. Tucker and Beverly F. Beane, Miskimon; a daughter, Mary B. Davis, Richmond; grandchildren, Richard Hunter Beane, Jess B. Pruett, Benjamin R. Pruett and Alyssa C. Pruett. Graveside services 3 p.m. Tuesday at Beane's Cemetery, Miskimon. Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Jones-Ash Funeral Home, Rainswood. Memorials may be made to the Beane Cemetery Fund or Mid County Rescue Squad.

BINFORD
Sandra Faye Binford, age 39, of Amelia, went to be with the Lord on July 20, 2002, after a long battle with leukemia. A homemaker, school bus driver, and volunteer firefighter, she leaves behind her husband, Steve; and daughters Heather and Ashley. She is also survived by her parents, Smith and Faye Hutchinson; her maternal grandmother, Gertrude Pryor; brother, Robert Hutchinson and his wife, Ruth Ann; nephew, Reid; niece, Kara; and maternal great-aunt and uncle, Perley and Cecil Goolsby of Richmond; mother-in-law, Betty Lou Binford; sister-in-law, John and Kim Chumney, and their children Nathan, Brittany and Candace. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 7 p.m. at Arbor Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visiting from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday night at Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St. Contributions may be made to the Amelia Co. Fire Dept. or the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at MCV. BRADLEY
Hazel J. Bradley, 90, formerly of Gorham, Maine, died Friday, July 19, 2002 at her son's home in Mechanicsville. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Reginald and Carolyn Bradley; two grandchildren, Stephen Bradley of Richmond and Stacia Bradley Eastman of Salisbury, N.H.; and two great-grandsons, Tyler and Jeremiah Eastman; one sister, Frances Chase of Littleton, N.H.; and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of life and interment will be held in Maine at a later date.

BUZBY
Stephen John Buzby, 45, of Midlothian, died July 20, 2002 after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his beloved wife, Leslie; three daughters, Jennifer, Allyson and Kristina; his father, Richard Buzby of Newfield, N.J.; two brothers, Dr. Philip Buzby of Brockton, Mass., and Paul Buzby of Vineland, N.J.; and one sister, Sarah Shiels of Cary, N.C. He is also survived by two nephews and four nieces. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 24, 4 p.m. at Salisbury Prebyterian Church. Memorial donations may be made in Stephen's name to Bon Secours Hospice or the American Cancer Society.

CHAMBERS
Mary B. Chambers, 88, of Richmond, died July 21, 2002. She was the widow of Edwin M. Chambers. She is survived by her son, P. Ronald Oakley; daughter, Carolyn O. Lawson, both of Prince George; stepson, Lewis Chambers of Chester; brother, Robert F. Burton of Richmond; nine grandchildren, Jeff Bartlett, Mark Bartlett, Mike Bartlett, Bonnie Gammon, Terry Oakley, Penny Bryant, Cynthia Rickmond, Diane Torres and Amy Laws; also 12 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Chambers was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanette Estes. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Remains rest at the Laburnum Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 2110 E. Laburnum Ave. Funeral notice later.

COLEMAN
Pearl Joyce Ann Coleman of Richmond died July 19, 2002. She was the daughter of the late Reuben and Pearl Coleman. Surviving are one son, Robert Reuben Lundy; two brothers, Henry R. and Pernette J. Coleman; one sister, Julia Jackson; two aunts, Ruth Booker and Viola Hailstolk; one daughter-in-law, Sharon Carter Lundy; two sisters-in-law, Justine and Doris Coleman; a devoted friend, Ernest Hawthorne; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd., where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 12 noon, Rev. Lawrence B. Samuels officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery.

DAVES
Sandra Owens Daves, 53, died July 19, 2002. Sandra was a retired RN from John Randolph Hospital in Hopewell, Va. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Larry R. Daves Sr.; daughters, Rebecca Daves Doroshenk, Diana Daves Roberts; a son, Larry R. Daves Jr.; her father and mother, Charles and Rachel Owens; three sisters, Susan Owens Snowa, Sherry Owens Celesia, and Shelly D. Owens; and seven grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, July 22, at Central Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, 4240 Park Place Ct., Glen Allen, Va. 23060-3314.

HENRY
Ethel Kidd Henry, 89, widow of John Worsham Henry of Sugar Hill, Georgia, formerly of Richmond, died July 20, 2002. She was predeceased by her son, David Henry. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Ann Goughnour of Sugar Hill, Ga.; two grandsons, Bruce and wife, Michelle, and their three children, Shawn, Haley, and Dylan Goughnour of Cumming, Ga., Bill and wife, Pitter Goughnour of Lilburn, Ga.; three sisters, Elizabeth Hays and Irene Byrd of Richmond, and Eunice Towles of Florida; one brother, Charlie Kidd of Richmond. Mrs. Henry was retired from J.C. Penny Co., and was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. Remains rest at the Central Chapel, Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave., where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, and where services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2002. Interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

HENRY
Stephen Mark Henry on Sunday, July 21, 2002, our beloved husband, father, son, grandfather and brother, departed this life to join his Savior Jesus Christ; his father, Harold S. Henry; and grandparents, Niles C. Bateman and Veva Bateman Drumm, and Elwin and Edith Henry in heaven. Stephen was gifted in using his musical talents to entertain and enhance the many lives that he touched in wedding parties and nursing homes. Born June 1, 1952 in Schenectady, New York, Stephen is survived by his loving wife, Teresa Alvis Henry; devoted mother, Barbara Bateman Henry of Salem; proud son, Mark D. Henry of Palm Beach, Fla.; loving daughter, Marcie Henry; brother, Douglas Henry and wife, Christine of Richmond; sister, Marilyn Henry of Roanoke; his wife's two children, Angela Froeschl and Christopher Alvis; grandson, Michael Froeschl; nieces, Lauren and Kelsey Henry; and several aunts and uncles. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 554, Roanoke, Va. 24003-0554. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2002 at Simpson-Tharp Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Rd., by the Rev. Keith Johnston. Interment services by the Rev. JACKSON
Raymond L. Jackson of Richmond, departed this life Thursday, July 18, 2002. He was preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his wife, Daisy Jackson; two daughters, Jacqueline Wilson and Candice Spurlock (George); three sons, Barrick McLemore (Adrianne), Antione McLemore and Eric McLemore; 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; one brother, Bernard Jackson; mother-in-law, Rebecca Evans; three brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law; a host of nieces and nephews, one devoted niece, Catanna Patrice Ross; other relatives and friends, among them, these devoted friends, Herbert Armstead, Bill Winfree and Creed Taylor. Remains rest at Mimms Funeral Home, 19th and Hull Sts. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 23, at 1 p.m. from St. Paul's Baptist Church, 26th and Marshall Sts. Rev. JONES
Edwina Chandler Jones, 90, of Lakewood Manor Baptist Retirement Home in Richmond, Va., and formerly of Bowling Green, Ky., passed away July 19, 2002. She was born July 23, 1911 in Monticello, Ky., daughter of the late Campbell and Henrietta Jones. She is survived by her sister, Mary Alice Hazel of Albuquerque, N.M.; special nephew, Wendell Jones of Anapolis, Md.; special friend, Dorothy C. Delmar of Richmond; also other family and friends. Miss Jones was a graduate of Western Kentucky University, class of 1932, with a major in Mathematics and History. She was also a graduate from Columbia University Teacher's College in 1939 with a major in teaching of Mathematics. She taught Mathematics in Bowling Green, Ky. city schools for 40 years retiring in 1972. The family will receive friends Monday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m. at Fork Union Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Lakewood Manor Baptist Retirement Home.

MARGULIES
Michael Jack "Mickey" Margulies, age 77, passed away July 20, 2002. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Betty Margulies; his son, Michael H. and his wife, Ann; grandchildren, Cole and Ethan Margulies; his brother, Jack Margulies and wife, Beverly; and niece, Brenda Ackerman. He retired as CEO of Mr. Cadi Corporation. After his retirement from the automobile business, his vocation was buying and selling stocks, and he was referred to by his friends and associates as "Trader Mick". He was a cadet at John Marshall High School from 1936-1940 and held a Golden Glove championship for boxing. He served in the Air Force during World War II as an aerial photographer. The family will receive friends at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, and where services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday. Interment Washington Memorial Park.

MOTHERSHEAD
Theressia B. Mothershead, 89, avid cook and gardener, succumbed to heart failure on July 20, 2002. "Ressia", a life time member of Rappahannock Baptist Church, is survived by her sister, Mrs. Geneva B. Franklin of Montross; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at 6 p.m. Monday at Rappahannock Baptist Church, Newland. A private burial will be held the following day. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Montross Fire Department.

PERRY
Eugene Leon Perry, 75, of Mineral, died Saturday, July 20, 2002. He was a son of the late Simon and Ellen Elizabeth Stokes Perry, a WWII Army veteran, and a member of Glenora Baptist Church. He retired in 1988 from CSX as a signalman foreman with 32 years of service. Survivors include his sisters, Lucille Williams and Ann Dickinson of Charlottesville, Shirley Clough of Apple Grove; brothers, John W. Perry of Charlottesville and J. Lewis Perry of Chesterfield; special friend, "Dee Dee" Lovekamp. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl Joseph Perry and Simon Perry Jr.; and a special friend, Martha Ernest. The family will receive friends Monday, July 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Woodward Funeral Home, Louisa, where funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 23, 2002 at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Mary E. Johnson Reed, 85, of Richmond, Va., was called home on July 19, 2002. She is survived by her ten children, Lila, Juanita, Rosetta, Leonard, Clarence, Lilly, Florence, Goldie, Walter and Marvin. Her remains rest at the Henry W. Dabney Funeral Home, 518 N. Carmella D. "Millie" Rourke, 76, of Petersburg, died July 20, 2002 in Southside Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Rourke was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., a daughter of the late Alphonse and Lucia Ferrara DeLieto. She was retired from Thalhimer's and Hecht's Department Stores. Survivors include her husband of more than 52 years, Urban D. Rourke of Petersburg; three children, Dianne M. Kenney of Fayetteville, N.C., Patricia L. McLaughlin of Overland Park, Kansas, Urban D. Rourke Jr. of Virginia Beach, Debra R. Stoss of Richmond, Va.; seven grandchildren, Michelle, Rachel and Michael Kenny, Brent and Adam McLaughlin, Matthew and Laura Stoss; two sisters, Mary Sidlowski, Josephine Vaccaro; and a brother, Frank DeLieto, all of New Jersey; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home tonight, Monday, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. A Mass of the Resurrection will be offered and interment will follow on Thursday, July 25, in Broad Top City, Pa. A visitation will be held at the Curtis Heath Funeral Home in Broad Top City, Pa. on Wednesday evening.
