Welford Carroll Hinton, age 71, of Joppa, Md., formerly of Kilmarnock, Va., died Monday, October 29, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Betty Joyce Edwards Hinton; two sons, Welford William and Ricky Carroll Hinton, both of Joppa, Md.; a daughter, Peggy Joyce Kreiner, Belair, Md.; three grandchildren and one great-grandson; two brothers, John R. Hinton, Tappahannock, Va. and Carroll W. Hinton, Belair, Md.; two sisters, Anna Lee Spence, Lively, Va. and Treeny Reynolds, Mechanicsville, Va. Remains rest at the Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock, Va., where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday. Interment Hopewell UMC Cemetery, Lara, Va.

HOSSLEY
Cornelia Warren Hossley, 88, of Imperial Plaza, Richmond, Va., died October 25, 2001 at Beth Shalom Nursing Home, Richmond. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Hossley Jr. Survivors include her daughters, Lora Hossley Spicer and her husband, Melvin of Richmond and Ellen Hossley Heltzel and her husband, Earl of Culpeper, Va.; one sister, one brother, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2001, at Rhoadesville Baptist Church Cemetery, Rhoadesville, Va., Rev. Jim Pittman officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Virginia Baptist Children Home, P.O. Box 849, Salem, Va., 24153. Johnson Funeral Home, Locust Grove, Va.

JACKSON
Elfrieda J. Jackson, 88, of Richmond, died Sunday, October 28, 2001. She was the widow of Walter F. Jackson and is survived by her daughter, Mary A. Hazelgrove; and grandson, Matthew B. Hazelgrove. A private graveside service will be conducted in Evergreen Cemetery, Charlotte, N.C. at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

JAMES
Sue Holmes James, 66, of Richmond, died October 29, 2001. She was preceded in death by Joseph C. James and Stuart Desmond Martin. Survivors include two daughters, Linda G. LeBrun of Hague and Rhonda K. Simmons of Mechanicsville; a son, C. Stuart Gregory Jr.; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Jean H. Partin of Chester; and a brother, John E. Holmes of Charlottesville. Remains rest at the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 West Broad St., where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, October 31, in Greenwood Memorial Gardens at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4240 Park Place Ct., Glen Allen, Va. 23060.

JETT
Frank Ashton Jett Jr., 87, of Richmond, died October 28, 2001. He was the son of the late Bessie P. Jett and Frank A. Jett Sr. Mr. Jett served as a first lieutenant duruing WWII in the 7th Army Comabt Engineer Corps, was retired after 49 years of service from Philip-Morris, U.S.A. and was a member of Tuckahoe Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Norma Burley Jett; a daughter, Barbara Jett Coursey and her husband William C. Coursey Jr.; and a grandson, William Ashton Coursey. Remains rest at the West Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 W. Broad St., where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, October 31, at Tuckahoe Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Westhampton Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributuons may be made to the Tuckahoe Presbyterian Church, 7000 Park Ave., Richmond, Va. 23229 or the University of Richmond Spider Club.

JETT
Violet Best Jett, 93, of Reedville, died Saturday, October 27, 2001. She was the widow of Joseph Clarence Jett Jr. and was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Clarence Jett III. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Emily Jett Haynie and Teddy Haynie of Reedville; brothers, Thomas E. Best and Alfred G. Best, both of Nassau, Del.; grandchildren, David Haynie of Heathsville, Ricky Haynie and Sutton Haynie, both of Reedville, Joseph Jett IV, Kenneth Jett and Diane Jett, all of Tuscon, Ariz.; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews in Delaware. Funeral services will be Tuesday, 2 p.m. at Bethany United Methodist Church, Reedville. Interment in Roseland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Roseland Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 32, or Northumberland Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1, Reedville, 22539.

JOHNSON
Lucille Carter Johnson died October 21, 2001. Survived by husband, D. Johnson; mother, D. Carter; grandchildren, aunt, cousin, in-laws, relatives, friends. Vistiation 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and services 1 p.m. Thursday at A.D. Price Funeral Establishment, 212 W. Leigh St.

KERN
Lucille L. Kern, 74, of Richmond, passed away October 27, 2001. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd. Interment Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tuckahoe Volunteer Rescue Squad, 1101 Horsepen Rd., Richmond, Va.

KUHN
Mr. Oscar Shannon Kuhn Jr., age 82, of 108 Shrimp St., Holden Beach, N.C., formerly of Richmond, Va., died Saturday, October 27, 2001 at his residence. Mr. Kuhn was born September 1, 1919 in Radford, Va. and was the son of the late Oscar Shannon Luhn Sr. and Audrey Brittingham Kuhn. Mr. Kuhn taught public schools in Richmond for 36 years. He was a member of Boulevard United Methodist Church of Richmond. Mr. Kuhn was a U.S. Army veteran and a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ada N. Kuhn. He is survived by his wife, Billie Kuhn; two sons, W. Kirk Kuhn of Smithfield, Va. and O. Kevin Kuhn; a daughter, Sharon K. Robertson; five grandchildren, Richard and Kristen Robertson and Elizabeth, Hillaryand Douglas Kuhn; a sister, Frances K. Turner of Salisbury, Md. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 this evening at Coble Ward- Smith Funeral Service, Supply Chapel. Graveside funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, November 1, 2001, at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, Richmond, Va., Rev. Richard M. Robertson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Red Cross, 1102 S. 16th St., Wilmington, N.C. 28401. Coble Ward- Smith Funeral Service and Crematory, Supply Chapel.

McKINNEY
Kimiko K. McKinney, 68, of Bumpass, Va., passed away Monday, October 29, 2001. She is survived by her children, Charlie McKinney, Nancy Smith and Jane Kay Bottoms; and five grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Rd.

McLAUGHLIN
Bernard William McLaughlin, 92, of King William County, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2001. He was preceded in death by his wife, Inez Barksdale McLaughlin; and grandson, Mark S. Olphin. He is survived by two daughters, Yvonne Olphin and husband, Walter, Betty Ellen and husband Bill; one son, Billy B. McLaughlin and wife, Joyce; brother, Robert H. McLaughlin; nine grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. He was a 50 year member of Arlington Lodge No. 102, AF&AM and Past Worthy Patron of Glen Allen Chapter No. 61 OES. Remains rest at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd., where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 30, with interment in Signal Hill Memorial Park. Pace; two daughters, Jamese Pace-Walls and Angela Pace Kirk; two grandsons, Brian and James Walls; one brother, Douglas P. (Jean) Pace; two sisters, A. Alma Brunson and Annie P. Harris; a host of nieces and nephews; two aunts, a host of cousins, among them one devoted, Lena R. Freeman; mother-in-law, Rachel W. Williams; one son-in-law, Crispian D. Kirk; four sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, other realtives and friends, among them one devoted, Chestley H. Griffin. Remains rest at the Walter J. Jong In Ryu, 82, of Richmond, died Sunday, October 28, 2001. She is survived by three sons, one daughter, ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd. Interment Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

SINGLETON
Katherine N. Singleton, 94, of Chester, widow of Reinhardt M. Singleton, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2001. She is survived by her daughter, Jean S. Hill and her son-in-law, Marvin E. Hill; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Fred (Annice) Singleton; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Singleton was a lifelong member of Berea Baptist Church. Remains rest at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave., where the family will receive friends after 11 a.m. Tuesday, and where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 31. Interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Berea Baptist Church Building Fund or the Pine Street Baptist Church Properties Endowment Fund.

Mrs. Thelma J. Thomas, age 94, went to be with the Lord on October 23, 2001 in her home. She was an active and devoted member of the Fifth St. Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard C. Thomas; and daughter, Julia Murphy. She is survived by two nieces, Ann Jordan (Maurice) Carter, Esterine Jordan Anderson; one great-niece, Gail Anderson-Jrunz (Rupert); three great-nephews, Keith and Wayne Anderson and William A. Edwards; two cousins, Walter T. White Jr. and Walter T. White III; one sister-in-law, Ethel Edwards; other relatives and friends, among them caregivers and devoted friends, Lethia R. Brown, Dorothy Cheeks, Revs. Roy and Inez Cotton, Deloise Cox and Rosa Cox, Clarence Drayton, William "Sonny" Glass Jr., Naomi Hall, Jennie Shaw, Yvonne Haynes and Mable Shepard. Remains rest at the Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 N. 25th St., where the family will receive friends 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Remains will lie in state at 12 noon Wendesday at Fifth St. Baptist Church, 2800 3rd Ave., where funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Rev. F. Todd Gray officiating. Burial Roselawn Memory Gardens.

TROLLINGER
H. Guy Trollinger Jr., 57, of White Stone, formerly of Richmond, departed this life October 28, 2001. Mr. Trollinger was the former owner and president of W.W. LeFew's Sons, Inc. in Richmond. He was also an active member of the Church of the Nazarene, active member of the Kiwanis, and was in the Army National Guard. He is survived by his wife, Joan Trollinger; two daughters, Tracy Lynn Wilson and her husband, Mike Wilson, Cindy Rae Hinman and her husband, Allen Hinman; and one granddaughter, Shelbie Lynn Barker, all of Richmond; his mother, Reba Trollinger; two sisters, Gloria Cologan and her husband, Al Cologan, Gay Moravec and her husband, Dennis Moravec; and one brother, Garry Trollinger and his wife, Sarah Trollinger, all of Richmond; nine nieces, three nephews, 11 great-nephews and two great-nieces. He was predeceased by his father, Harry G. Trollinger Sr. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 31 at 2 p.m. at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Kilmarnock. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Nazarene Building Fund, P.O. Box 1270, White Stone, Va. 22578.
