Mrs. Benzina Chavis Harrell, 84, of Richmond, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2001. She was born in Kershaw Co., S.C. Benzina was preceded in death by her daughter, Myrna Atkins; her son, Edgar Chavis, and her husband, Gibson Harrell. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia H. Walls; and son, Stines Crawley; sister, Frances Chavis; brothers, Boston, Samuel and David Chavis; grandchildren, Donna Smith, Daphne, Dawn, David and Edward Walls and Elandra Bull; great-grandchildren, Donna Fenner, Davinna Knight, Orlando, Saul and Brian Smith, Shannon, Deanna, Shaina, Shay, Brittany and Taylor Walls; daughter-in-law, Marcia Crawley; son-in-law, Otis Atkins; sisters-in-law, Ruth Harrell, Penny, Thelma, Mildred and Bernice Chavis; one uncle, Mr. James Rawlerson of New York; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at the Mimms Funeral Home, 19th and Hull Sts. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 7, 11 a.m. at Morning Star Baptist Church, 3509 Midlothian Pike. Dr. Jimmy I. McCrary, pastor, officiating. Interment in Maury Cemetery. After 10 a.m. Wednesday, remains will rest in the above named church until hour of service. Relatives and friends attending funeral services assemble at the church Wednesday, 10:30 a.m.

HOLLOWAY
Mr. James Woodrow "Woody" Holloway, 86, of Jarratt, a retired Johns-Manville plant employee and widower of Pearl Morris Holloway, died Monday, November 5, 2001. Survivors include a daughter, Edith H. Proctor and husband, Willaim "Tink" of Colonial Heights; a son, William P. "Billy" Holloway and wife, Barbara of Jarratt; six grandchildren, Susan Robinson, Judy P. Davis, Jeff Proctor, James Proctor, Dennis Holloway, Robyn H. Whitby; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard C. "Tap" Holloway of Emporia; and two sisters, Dorothy "Dot" Doyle of Jarratt and Mary J. Shelton of Newport News. Mr. Holloway was also preceded in death by a brother, George C. Holloway Sr.; and a sister, Virginia H. Lyzotte. The family will receive friends at Mr. Woodrow Holloway's home in Jarratt. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2001, at Owen Funeral Home, also in Jarratt. Interment to follow in Grace Episcopal Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Grace Episcopal Church in Purdy or Centenary United Methodist Church in Jarratt.

HORD
Louise Henley Hord, 84, of Richmond, passed away Monday, November 5, 2001. She is survived by her husband, Clifford A. Hord; four daughters, Betty L. Roberts, Edna H. Perkins, Virginia A. Jemjemian and Joyce H. Ballard; one son, John Ryland Hord; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; her brother, Thomas Henley. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday (today) at Riverview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Nelsen Funeral Home assisting the family with the arrangements.

Departed this life November 4, 2001, Mrs. Dorothy H. Hudgins of 310 Norcroft Circle. Remains rest at Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 North 25th St. Funeral notice later.

JOHNSON
Otis A. Johnson Sr. of 807 Savanah Ave. died November 4, 2001. Surviving are his devoted wife, Susie R. Johnson; two sons, Otis A. (Lucille) Johnson Jr. of Richmond and Harry W. (Jacqueline) Smith of Charlotte, N.C.; four grandchildren; one brother, Joseph H. Johnson of Falls Church, Va.; nieces, nephews; a devoted caretaker, Lahoma Morgan; other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Pk. Blvd. After 12 noon Wednesday, remains will rest in Great Hope Baptist Church, 2101 Venable St., where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Dr. Earl Bledsoe, pastor, officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery.

JONES
Mrs. Lottie Minor Jones, 77, of Montross died on Sunday, November 4, 2001. Mrs. Jones was a member of Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church. Survivors are her husband of 58 years, Clarence Tayloe Jones Sr.; a son, Clarence Tayloee Jones Jr. of Montross; a sister, Evelyn DeFrancis of Raleigh, N.C.; and two grandchildren, Tiffany and Kenneth Chatham II. Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by a brother, Edwin Minor; and a sister, Irene Dameron. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, at Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church. Interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Welch Funeral Home, Montross, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. this evening. Memorial contributions may be made to the Montross Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1174, Montross, Va., to the Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Bernard Dugan, P.O. Box 113, Montross, Va. 22520, or your favorite charity.

LANHAM
Mildred H. "Millie" Lanham, 83, of Callao, formerly of Varina, went to be with God Sunday, November 4, 2001. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Lewis V. Lanham Sr.; her son, Lewis V. Lanham Jr. and his wife, Ruth; her daughter, Cheryl Hues Putt; five grandchildren, Kevin, Adrianne and Robert Lanham and Christopher and Casey Hues. She was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Wayne Lanham. Mrs. Lanham was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, Callao and the Quinton Oaks Ladies Golf Association. Due to the illness of Mr. Lanham Sr., his son and daughter will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 South Laburnum Ave. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment Washington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Callao Rescue Squad.

LIVESAY
Elizabeth M. Livesay, 78, of Richmond, died Monday, November 5, 2001. She is survived by two sons, Carl L. Livesay and William R. Livesay; one daughter, Donna Lindblad and her husband, John; grandson, Christopher Livesay; two stepgrandchildren, John and Lesley Lindblad; and her brother, Harry G. Livesay. She retired from CVS Pharmacy after over 30 years service. Services and interment will be in Big Stone Gap, Virginia.

MacLEOD
Brigid MacLeod, 68, of Heathsville, died November 1, 2001. Surviving are her husband, Donald J. MacLeod; daughter, Laura MacLeod, Long Island, N.Y.; sons, Nelson MacLeod, Fredericksburg and Kieron MacLeod, Spring Hill, Fla; grandchildren, Ian, Laura, Nelson, Mary, Erin and Emily. Funeral services 11 a.m. Wednesday at Jones-Ash Funeral Home, Rainswood. Interment private. Friends may call 9 a.m. Wednesday until time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Salvation Army or your favorite organization.

MARTIN
Clifton W. "Sonny" Martin Jr., 64, of Gasburg, Va., formerly of Crewe and Richmond, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2001 in Henrico, N.C. He is survived by his wife, Dana J. Martin; daughter, Marsha M. Helsing and her husband, Kurt of Powhatan; sons, Jeffrey S. Martin of Chester, Richard L. Griffin Jr. and his wife, Yvonne of Powhatan and Dwayne K. Griffin of Gasburg; his mother, Blanche D. Martin; sisters, Shirely M. Lawrence of Midlothian and Kitty Lou Redman of Newport News; six grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, a brother, and sisters-in-law. He was preceded in death by his father, Clifton W. Martin Sr.; and sister, Shelva M. Bates. Mr. Martin was a retired employee of DuPont after 25 years of service. Family will receive friends at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Road (Rt. 10) from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 6. Services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment Dale Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Sylvester M. Parham, formerly of 1606 Albany Ave., departed this life November 4, 2001 at St. Mary's Hospital. Remains rest at the Carlton T. Brooks Funeral Home, 2200 Hull St. Funeral notice later. The family may be contacted at 275-7578.

PARRISH
William K. "Kenneth" Parrish died November 5, 2001 in Towson, Md. He is survived by his devoted friend, Kay and her son; four sisters, Edna McMahon, Mildred Thomas, Jeanette Townsend, Barbara Nicklis; two brothers, Jesse Parrish and Henry Parrish. A memorial service will be held at later date.

PERKINS
Stuart "Stu" Perkins, age 61, of Rockville, Va., died Sunday, November 4, 2001. He was preceded in death by his son, Stuart J. Perkins Jr. and is survived by two sons, Sean C. Perkins of Wayne, Pa. and Justin S. Perkins of Philadelphia, Pa.; his brother, Charles W. Perkins of Claymont, Del.; and his sister, Virginia Gill of Oceanside, Calif. Mr. Perkins was a former director of Export Trade Development, Commonwealth of Virginia. He served in the United States Army in military intelligence during Vietnam and later served with the Green Berets. The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday with memorial services immediately following at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd.

PETWAY
Barbara New Petway, 44, of Richmond, died Monday, November 5, 2001. She is survived by her son, James Cannon; her parents, James and Adelia New; her brother, James W. New; two sisters, Doris Martin and Mary Willoughby; her aunt, Carolyn Hodge; her uncle, Claude V. New. Her remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. A graveside service will be held 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Chapel Church Cemetery in Charles City County.

PIWOWARSKI
Joseph C. "Buster" Piwowarski III, 57, of Chesterfield, passed away November 5, 2001. His remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral arrangements later.

PRIDDY
Mary Atkins Priddy, 84, of Richmond, widow of S. Vernon Priddy Jr., died Sunday, November 4, 2001. She is survived by her son, S. Vernon Priddy III and his wife, Molly; two grandchildren, Moffett and Sam Priddy; and her sister, Mildred A. Claytor. Mrs. Priddy was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer. She had been a volunteer at Chippenham Medical Center for a number of years. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, in Hollywood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Christopher's School.

RICHARDSON
Martin Luther Richardson of Richmond entered eternal rest October 26, 2001. Cherishing his memory are his parents, Phillip J. and Barbara Alice Richardson; two sisters, Areatha and Meredith Richardson; one brother, Raymond Richardson. Sigrid Salinas, 32, and her children, Stefan Gabriel Salinas, 13, and Erika Blair Salinas, 11, went to be with the Lord November 2, 2001. They are survived by Sigrid's father, Gabriel Salinas; mother, Joan Salinas; sister, Kathie Salinas Lewis and her husband, Steve Lewis; brother-in-law, Mike Lewis; cousins, Maria Espiritu, Lucho Gutierrez, Vasili Uspensky and Monica Hoyas; great-aunt, Gabriella Takacsy; Stefan's and Erika's sister and brother; Alexandra and Alexander Szilassy Jr.; other family members in Peru, Hungary and Sweden; Sigrid's best friends, Hope Crabbe, Christy Davoud and Lori Dyer and her MCV and VCU professors and colleagues; and the classmates and teachers of Stefan and Erika. A loving daughter, sister, mother, friend and two beautiful children will be dearly missed.
